In need of LED lighting and found this Lighting Depot. It had every type of indoor and outdoor lighting arrangements and the whole store was bright white. The employee approached me quickly and began browsing but my head starting pounding from the intense fragrance diffuser pumping out a strong scent. Not sure why this would be needed in a lighting store. Found some cool led lighting but had to leave from the scent and unexpectedly cut my shopping experience short. read more

I came here looking for lighting for two bathrooms and my dining room. I was greeted by Matthew who was really nice and knows all about lighting. He made some great recommendations. He also gave me the space to look around, didn't hover over me. Great start. I looked around and they have a great selection. Very unique items which is refreshing. I saw one dining fixture that I really liked but it would be way too big for the dining room. Otherwise, not much else I wanted in that Departme t. I did see one light that is really beautiful. It comes in two sizes so I Will probably buy it in each size. One for a bathroom and the smaller one for the guest bathroom. I was told for returns there is a 30% restocking fee if you do not choose something else. I was also told they always have a 40% off sale. That was surprising. Nice enough odor and staff however, many items you have to have ordered. And I learned something new when I was there, The government has outlawed halogen, so you can't buy any bulbs or fixtures that are halogen only LED God forbid you want incandescent lights. The power is that we have taken over. read more

We have been in the market for some new lighting throughout our first floor. We passed by Lighting Depot to get some ideas on styles, prices, designs etc. Matthew was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable on lengths, styles, provided great recommendations and over all was patient with my mother and I. We walked away to consider and returned two days later. We went from a purchase of one to a total of 5. They gave us a great deal and we walked away with the lamps we truly wanted. We are overjoyed. P.S..... we did have the challenge of living in Orlando but they had the lamps quickly delivered to the store that same day so I can drive it up with me. There was only one which they had to special deliver but it's coming right to my house. The lamps came with the lightbulbs and they were very easy to install as the pieces were separated with easy instructions. Thank you again for making this very seamless for my husband and I! I'd say this was the worst customer service I've had in a while, but I literally had no customer service. My mother has been looking for new outdoor lighting to match her new entry locks. I actually found the perfect set with scones and a pendant light. I waited patiently for someone to at least acknowledge me. Not one person said a word to me. When I walked into the store, the guy who was working with a customer told another associate who was approaching me to go on her break. Shortly after, he repeatedly asked for help from another worker who stayed on the phone the entire time I was there. He too, failed to acknowledge me. I'm not one of those people to say you lost out on business (even though they technically did), but it's just the principle. Common decency goes a very long way. Customer service trumps all when it comes to retail. Sadly, this place lacks that. read more

As a small business owner it is imperative to find immediate solutions when a situation arises. Recently a UV bulb for my sterilizer went out and I had no clue where to get it from. After a frustrating trip to my local HomeDepot I came across The Lighting Depot. I was greeted as soon as I entered the door. They did not have what I needed in stock as it is a specialty item; however, they immediately went on line, identified the item, called their supplier, and had it in by the next business day. I have to mention that while I was not In the market for an actual lighting fixture their selections are amazing! I will definitely visit them in the future. Recently we used Lighting Depot in Miramar and feel it was the best decision/option to find quality products at a fair price (overall about 5% less than any other vendor we researched). We also value that they're right around the corner in case we have technical issues with the items purchased. Our salesperson Matthew was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and responsive to change as we worked to select six ceiling fans and a chandelier. For us, and being new to the area, it's been a challenge to find vendors that we can trust and feel confident in helping us finish our new construction townhome (takes allot of research and time to achieve standard home finishes). After another store did not deliver as promised, my husband and I visited the Lighting Depot to find replacement pendants. There was no pressure as we browsed the showroom. They had an excellent selection of pendants, chandeliers, everything you could want. We picked out some pendants and they were actually IN STOCK, which we did not expect, and they gave us a discount. I visited the store with my kids, the manager was very rude, (screaming at my kids) asking them to move away from the lamps. He did not even attempt to help us, after 10 minutes waiting for him to acknowledge us we decided to go next door to the Homedepot and got better service, better price. I don't know how this business owner has any good reviews. He does carry nice products but his personality is that of a very rude man. He had our attention when we told him we need a lot of lighting fixtures. He was so nice that Saturday when we went... He priced out one specific lamp at a very good price. We left and I decided to come back only to buy that one fixture. I explained to a worker the price he quoted us and the worker said that was impossible... So I waited for the manager/owner. He noticed me and purposely made me wait as he attended to anyone that walked in even after me. It was obvious he was avoiding me and had overheard my conversation with his sales person. I waited about 20 minutes. Finally, I had to get his attention and kindly explained the situation. He denied ever giving me that price and said my husband must have been crazy. My husband is a reputable business man and wrote every price he gave us accurately. We are not crazy. The issue was not paying more. I would have done it in a heartbeat but he did quote us a price and I expected him to honor it. His attitude and nastiness needs to be noted. Avoid giving this man any business and go elsewhere. He needs to learn to be kind. read more
