Great experience! Phillipe repaired, rewired and added a dimmer switch to a vintage "tulip" lamp plus ordered me the correct light bulbs. Recently , I have 2 Karl Springer Torchere lamps that after many years needed re wiring. Phillipe picked up the floor lamps at my home, repaired and delivered within a reasonable time. Service with a smile! read more

Light Switch - Rewired with new dimmer switch. Excellent work. - Lighting Fixtures & Equipment Near Me - North Miami, Florida

I took a lamp that needed a socket replaced. I have had this lamp about 15 years the lamp had a prior scratch. When the lamp was returned to me it was now chipped which it was not before. I would have expected at least they would apologize and attempt to fix it but no. Whoever works there and broke it they have no integrity whatsoever. David. read more

Had a chandelier that needed rewiring. They looked up how much the chandelier was on line and because it was very expensive they figured the rewiring should be as well. They price was $1250. Went ahead and got another quote for $250. They then readjusted their price to $750. I went somewhere else. read more

Honestly, the owner is the sweetest guy in the world. Kind of flirtatious and not in a creepy way. But he can fix anything and is super fast and reasonable. Also sells some really beautiful vintage and antique fixtures. Support this wonderful shop. read more

Outstanding place. Fast and fine workmanship should be rewarded. Everything while I waited on a weekend.

The best lighting store in Miami! The best selection and prices anywhere! They really know what they are doing. You won't be disappointed! I needed everything for a renovation and it was one stop shopping at the Light Switch! read more

I strongly recommend avoiding this place, the price quoted for a rewiring was astronomical compared to a second place I went and the owner was extremely rude to deal with from the second I walked into the location. The lampshades do not have any prices on them and he just makes up random prices when I inquired about the cost of a couple of them. read more

Wow! What a spectacular find. " The light switch" is probably one of the only fine craftsmanship places in all of Miami! Felipe and Gisele refurbished an old chandelier my mom had in her garage with such care and skill it like her is like a work of art. Truly one of the most professional experiences I have had short of going to Paris or Rome. This is my third experience here and the most remarkable! read more

Stay away doesn't warranty anything you buy from the place. We bought a fixture from him. The fixture broke 30 days later. He glued it back together. Piece of crap business owner. I put one star only because it made me. Horrible service and place. read more

What wonderful service and attention to detail. Family owned company with very efficient and friendly service. My lamp was actually completed early and looks beautiful. I've already recommended this place to a friend. Prices are fair and how cool that you have a place that can make your lamps look like new again? Happy that we have such a location left in Miami. read more

If there was an option to give zero stars I would do that. The owner of this place is so rude and unprofessional, I would never recommend his store to anyone. A few years back I had a similar experience with him, but thought it was an isolated incident. The wonderful salesman at another lighting store, who did not have the product I needed in stock, sent me to this store instead. I bought the items, around $100, but they were the wrong size for what I needed. I called The Light Switch and explained the problem and the owner said bring them back on Monday. When I returned with the items as he said to, he refused to refund my money, even though I had additionally brought in a light fixture for him to repair. He then got belligerent, raised his voice and became even ruder. I left without a refund taking my light fixture with me. With retail establishments begging for business after this last year of covid, nobody needs to do business with this horrid man. read more

Great experience. I had a large water urn that had been converted into a lamp, but it had a bad socket and needed a new plug and wire coating. The guy diagnosed the problem immediately, and I was able to pick it up soon thereafter. Quick and easy, and friendly service. Very glad Miami has this nice local place. read more

Great experience! I went in to get a switch fixed on a lamp I adore and could not bring myself to get rid of. The repair took 15 minutes and now it's as good as new. Very nice people (I think they were the owners) and very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back! read more

Great selection of lamps. Needed a modern lamp for my living room, came here and the staff is very friendly and the selection is great.

Upholstered lamp shades and did a great job ! Not many places do this type of work . Reasonably priced . Took only a week . Also provided a great shade and sold brass finiels. Changed sockets and harp which made the lamp look great. read more

Filip and his wife Gisele (who are French) at the Light Switch are incredible. I have an over $600 solid crystal lamp that was broken during a recent move from Los Angeles. I phoned several lamp repair shops in and around Miami including taking it to the design district to seek advice. Not one shop would attempt to repair the bedside lamp because it was crystal. I brought it to Felipe and he said he would attempt the repair but wasn't sure that it could work given the base was broken and the lamp weighs nearly 20 lbs. He indicated to me if he couldn't repair it he would not charge me for his time & effort. Filip phoned me the next business day and said he'd repaired the crystal lamp and "it looks great". He was a bit off as it looks absolutely fantastic considering the damage that was done. I am so grateful for Filip and now looking at the two matching crystal lamps on either side of my bed, it's not noticeable which one of the two lamps were damaged and repaired. I also bought a beautiful black linen "eye shaped" lamp shade that Filip hand crafted that looks absolutely perfect in my new diggs!! I am a most grateful and extremely happy customer!!! Filip's French craftsmanship on the lamps and lamp shades are tres bon!!! read more

The reviews are correct, the owner is an artist with tons of experience working with lamps and not just rewiring. I am ready to take in another antique lamp that needs total restoration. After reading reviews of other lamp repair shops closer to where I live, I know this is the right one for my needs. read more
