I'd advise to skip Lighthouse and not waste your money. I used to see a psychiatrist here and left because of a adverse experience with medication that landed me in the hospital, and foolishly I came back to try out DBT group therapy months later. I quickly found out it was very much a scam. They were taking my money just to give me unoriginal handouts I have seen countless times from other therapists, not to mention you can find them online yourself. There was a different therapist every week, so it was incredibly inconsistent as well. No actual DBT strategies or skills were TAUGHT in any fundamental way. Zero growth was fostered, and it was more so focused around bringing awareness to things I was personally already well aware of. Awareness on its own doesn't work. I needed help actually applying this awareness and using it to make changes in my life, and Lighthouse failed me. If you want real help applying the things you learn, I would personally recommend a different place for DBT group with a therapist that doesn't simply read off of a paper from online, but actually provides helpful, intellectual insight utilizing DBT in a structured way. Or at least find a good individual therapist who is actually competent in what they do and has some talent. All I heard the whole time was "Wow, what a great answer, you are so insightful!" Because I knew exactly what they wanted to hear. I came for help, to be called out and challenged, not for easy praise and answering questions 'correctly'. It's a lot to ask for I suppose. You know it's especially awful when the people employed at lighthouse recommend you find another place. Yes, this review is biased and emotionally charged, but I hope my experience has some objective value in helping you make a decision about this facility. read more

Dr. Ramirez has been taking care of me for a couple years now and has helped me so much! It is so hard to find a great Dr. that fits and she is fantastic. I also have a wonderful counselor Estefania Johnson at their facility as well. Their offices are comfortable and welcoming. I highly recommend. read more

This place is a joke. Completely unprofessional uncaring staff. No one ever acknowledged my emails and there is never anyone to pick up the phones. I have not been able to speak to a single person over the phone since I initially started scheduling here. It is unbelievable that they would treat a patient in this manner. I was asked when I wanted to schedule my next appointment via email I replied and no one ever got back to me. I called several times left voicmails and sent emails and there was no response. It is incredibly difficult to find a psychiatrist in this country let alone a decent one. Skip this place save your time and money. read more

While the psychiatrists are great, the front office is atrocious. I've been double booked on several occasions, they never answer the phones, and they have absolutely no empathy. Don't bother unless you like being jerked around and treated less than human. I had been with them for years. read more

I was a patient of Alyssa Probert for about 6 months. Without consulting me, she determined one day that I had stagnated in her services and discharged me. Lighthouse called this "deferring my care to other providers" but all they gave me was a list of about 40 therapists for me to shop around for. I know that no one is entitled to be with any therapist, but it would be nice to be given an actual warning that I was going to be discharged. If you know that someone relies on your help to manage their mental illness, it is unprofessional not to provide ample warning that you plan on rescinding those services. It's a shame more people don't read yelp or google reviews, because I think my story with Alyssa should give everyone pause before acepting her services. read more

I was just on the phone with your billing office asking for help with my insurance company so I could get reimbursed for payments I made out-of-pocket to Lighthouse. Your employee informed me it was up to me to call the insurance company to handle it. I told her I had already done that but needed her help with some of the questions about diagnosis and billing codes. She kept repeating it was not their responsibility and would not let me speak. No matter how I tried, she kept talking over me. I repeated "Excuse Me" about ten times but your employee never stopped talking to hear me out. I thought maybe my mute was on until the woman made it clear she was not going to answer me and hung up. I tried to call back several times but was sent to voicemail. The office made me pay $1,200 out-of-pocket when it should have been covered by insurance and has done nothing to help me recoup the money. Now that I submitted the superbills myself, Lighthouse has been paid twice for some invoices, once by me and once by my insurance company. They need some training on customer service and how to problem solve/critical thinking, etc. Not only did they mess up billing, but they also did nothing to help correct the issue and they were downright rude. read more

**READ BEFORE SEEING DR. MELISSA RAMIREZ** I was so excited to see Dr. Ramirez, I finally had hope. I talked about it for weeks - I told everyone I found a doctor with great reviews that accepts my insurance. I even gave family members hope. Well... here I am sitting on yelp writing her a one star review. If you are reading this, you probably know how hard it is to find a good doctor. I just got home from my appointment, cried the whole way home. I walked up to the front desk and was ignored. I honestly don't even care about that part but I am including it in here because I know that would bother most people. After standing there awkwardly for 5 minutes, I was finally acknowledged. I was asked if I signed into the patient portal. I explained that I created a username and password but did not see anything to fill out. At that moment, it's almost like the receptionist was excited to tell me that she had to ask the doctor if she would still see me. I took off from work for this appointment. I immediately teared up, I couldn't believe it was a possibility that I would be turned away when I showed up on time with insurance in network. I crossed my fingers and actually said a little prayer. The receptionist came back and sat down with me. I knew it wasn't good news. She said unfortunately Dr. Ramirez cannot see you today. It was terrible. Decided to stop treating me for my adhd even though I was diagnosed previously and didn't even try to do their own evaluation. Kind of just discredited all of these things I've been struggling with and made me feel like absolute shit. Don't see Kelly Huffaker if you have adhd; many adhd adults already feel like they have imposter syndrome or that people won't believe them and this didn't fucking help. Hopefully I can get through this year in college without support because I now don't have anything to fall back to for help with my disorder. read more

I have never written a yelp review. It is not my vibe, but having ocd myself and knowing how challenging mental illness can be, I felt compelled to write a review for this place. The overall service was very underwhelming and disappointing. Nothing against the the doctor I met with. He was nice. However, charging $350 for the initial 50 minute "evaluation" session is outrageous and seems exploitative in my honest opinion. I fail to understand how they can justify this amount. The services provided in the session did not constitute a $350 charge. The evaluation consisted of the doctor essentially just asking me if I experience anxiety in varying ways. I have been dealing with intense intrusive thoughts induced by my ocd and the doctor seemed to lack any strong knowledge with ocd. He barely addressed my ocd at all during the session. I booked the appointment with him under the impression that he was an ocd specialist. Subsequently, all I got out of the session though was a prescription for an anti-depressant that I could have prescribed myself honestly and little hope that any further sessions would be productive. Previously, I had been seeing another psychiatrist that had prescribed me a similar anti-depressant and was only charging me $100 per session ( literally less than half the amount that this place charged me). Granted, they did not accept my insurance and I paid out of pocket, but I don't care. $350 is still a joke. I understand that everyone has to earn a living and has bills to pay. However, don't operate under the false guise of wanting to improve sufferer's mental health and go get a job in another field if you desire to make more money. Whoever owns this practice should be ashamed. Again, nothing personal against the doctor I met with. While I was not that impressed, he was nice. It's places like this that contribute to the lack of faith and trust people have in mental health services. Do not waste your time and money with this practice! read more

If I could give a 0 star rating I would. Went there to get some help because I have been in major crisis mode, was told if I did not complete my patient portal in advance I needed to show up 40 min before app. I did it the night before and emailed it to them and they responded "Thank you I will put that in for you", so I thought everything was fine. I showed up 20 min early just incase and they said nothing was completed on my patient portal so I just ignored it and started doing it there. 10 min later the receptionist told me she talked with my doctor (Kelly) and the doctor said I could not be seen today because I didn't show up 40 min prior. I finished my patient portal 2 min before my app. and still they would not see me. As some who is in crisis mode, finally proud of myself for getting help, the fact that a place who is focused on mental health could turn me away when I was CRYING absolutely astonishes me. And they had no reaction what so ever. I needed help and they saw that and still turned me away. It is now days later since this experience and I am still so upset about it. Way to kick a horse when its down Lighthouse. Kelly needs to lose her license or be fired immediately or more action will come. Absolutely disgusting. read more

Dr Trinh is the most passionate and intelligent psychiatrist I've ever met. The entire staff is always so incredibly polite and the mood in the whole building is so peaceful. Dr Trinh really takes the time with each patient to understand exactly what you are going through and if you are a good candidate for TMS. He's honest and the price for the treatment was incredibly competitive and actually less than what I had expected for the future outcome you reach as a patient. If your looking for a solution to anxiety or stress and haven't been able to find one yet your search is over. Stay at Lighthouse and never look back you definitely won't regret it! read more

I was a patient of Lighthouse Psychiatry from September, 2018 to May, 2019. I went through TMS treatment for my longstanding depression, with counseling both during and after treatment. The TMS did not help my depression but I felt pressured by the staff to say that I was feeling better because that was the outcome that they desired. The counselor kept telling me "but you are better now!" and pushing me to space my visits with her farther and farther out in spite of the fact that I would sit in her office unable to function outside of the tears streaming down my face. My depression continued to worsen and interfere with my ability to work, maintain relationships or basically have any quality of life. I made the mistake of calling Lighthouse back to see if there was anything further that they could do for me. The guy I spoke with insisted that I had been helped by the TMS ("you have been depression-free for almost a year!"). Umm, WHAT?? I don't know what he was talking about but I went ahead to make an appointment for medication management because I was desperate for any help I could get. I spent several hours completing their intake forms AGAIN because they somehow managed to lose the ones I had done a year ago! I showed up for the appointment and was told that I had a balance that had to be paid before I could be seen. This was news to me, as a previous balance had never been mentioned. Given the fact that I had been out of work due to my depression, I have no money to even feed myself. I had put my last pennies into my gas tank just to make it to this appointment! I pleaded with them to let me keep the appointment, that I would pay them as soon as I possibly could. I was refused by Jennifer, one of the owners! When I asked to speak to Chung, the other owner, to try to appeal to his common decency, he refused to speak to me! Apparently they are NOT in the business of helping people, just raking in the Almighty dollar! If you need help, DO NOT GO TO LIGHTHOUSE PSYCHIATRY!! read more
