I am very disappointed with my experience at Lighthouse, particularly with how my concerns regarding a psychiatric medication were handled. For over two weeks, I repeatedly tried to get a clear answer about whether I could receive a short bridge prescription to get me to an upcoming appointment with a new provider. When it became clear a refill might not be possible, I specifically asked for guidance on how to safely stop the medication. That guidance was never provided. Being left without direction regarding mental health treatment is unacceptable. I chose to leave this practice because I did not feel listened to by Dr. Westbrock. Diagnoses were mentioned without explanation, alternative causes were not meaningfully explored, and my concerns were largely dismissed. When I asked about further evaluation, I was told it would require several additional appointments and approximately $800 in fees, after already paying for the visit I was attending. The process felt more focused on billing than patient care. After securing a new provider, I contacted Lighthouse weeks in advance because I knew I would run out of medication before that appointment. I made it clear that I understood if a refill was not possible and that I was simply asking for guidance. Despite multiple attempts, my requested were ignored by Dr. Westbrock. Even after being told by the medical assistants this bridge refill should have been possible. Lighthouse medical assistants have reached out and apologized on behalf of the team. They stated the issue was with Dr. Westbrock and said that if I wanted a bridge now, three weeks later, they could forward me to the director. I appreciate the medical assistants who attempted to help every time I called. However, this situation should have been escalated to leadership much earlier, and at the end of the day Dr. Westbrock is employed by this office and his actions reflect the office. Overall, this experience left me feeling dismissed and unsupported at a critical moment in my care. The only reason I chose 2 stars instead of 1 was the medical assistants consistently trying their best. It is disappointing they are not listened to by their superiors. Front desk never responds to calls upon multiple attempts and messages left. Extremely frustrating.

LIGHTHOUSE PSYCHIATRY DOES NOT RESPOND TO VOICEMAILS NOR TO THEIR OWN ELECTRONIC INFORMATION FORM REQUESTS!!! GO ELSEWHERE I attempted multiple times to obtain further information from Lighthouse Psychiatry about the MeRT they offer. The first was through their electronic form submission request for more info that was on their website. I then called the following week and was advised by their receptionist that I have to schedule an appointment to be evaluated by one of their psychiatrists before they will discuss it with me. I understand the intake process and I am more than willing to jump through the hoops and pay to be assessed by a provider. All I am asking for is a little more information about the therapy over the phone beforehand. I don't think this is an unusual request. I then subsequently left one, if not two more voicemails requesting a call back, all of which have been ignored because I am not their current patient. HUGE RED FLAG here for anybody...that they cannot be bothered to furnish information that will actually add to their business, or perhaps that they are already so overwhelmed that it wouldn't behoove anyone to waste their own time either. I don't understand why a business wouldn't want to garner a new patient that would potentially bring them thousands of dollars in revenue. I will seek the same treatment elsewhere, albeit further away unfortunately, but hopefully with MUCH better patient care and customer service. EDIT: Wow, just seeing this response from the owner. I've only seen one provider, Kristine Murdoch and she is great! She seems to truly care and is kind and empathetic. I can't say the same for the work ethic of the office. I am going on over a week trying to get meds refilled. Which in all fairness to them at first was a problem with the insurance and the pharmacy. But now that has been worked out, I have made multiple calls and sent multiple emails to try and get a refill and I am several days without meds now. I love that for me. read more

I was severely disappointed with my experience at Lighthouse. Dr. Nayeri made me feel extremely rushed, was clearly not actively listening or referring to previous appointment notes, and did not share side effect information appropriately - and at the end of it all, had the audacity to bill me using inappropriate coding! Beyond Dr. Nayeri, the practice is incredibly disorganized. None of their front desk associates can answer general questions about billing, or really anything beyond appointment scheduling. When Dr. Nayeri sent my prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy, it took several phone calls and getting bounced around multiple people to get things straightened out. When I left a voicemail with their billing line inquiring about my bill, no one got back to me, and I had to call multiple times before I was able to get ahold of someone and get answers. Lighthouse provided an expensive yet ultimately disappointing (and candidly, dangerous) experience. Particularly now having found a different practice that takes time to care for their patients, answer questions, listen, and truly provide a comprehensive understanding of their recommendations (and any potential side effects), I would not recommend Lighthouse!! read more

Misdiagnosed, Tried 9 or more med regimens in 1 year period none helping me properly. The practitioner I saw wanted to help but clearly wasn't up to the job. TMS experience was awful. At one point, waiting between medications, I wasn't on any antidepressants and was actually crying during TMS sessions with no one addressing the added trauma of the whole experiences. Inattentive and unseasoned so wasn't able to be helped. Lost a year of my life and rather than improvement I went further downhill. Shame I didn't feel good enough or aware enough strong enough to deal with the damage the entire experience at Lighthouse was for me. If you just need a counselor maybe they are OK at that, but for medication management or TMS I cannot recommend that you'd be in knowledgeable safe hands. I feel they really messed me up and definitely focused on their business and $ and filing through people like a factory as opposed focusing on individual. My caretaker should have had more supervision in monitoring and supporting me. After 12 mos he passed me onto the head Dr. because he didn't know what else he could do for me. That shows I should not have been with him that long ... all those medicines ... all those side effects ... and neither practitioner actually diagnosed me correctly. I hope they help others but my experience was nothing I would want anyone else to repeat. read more

Well, where should I start considering most of the negative posts seem to be accurate. I would say the care quality is horrible. My counselor was Aldrin He was great. This guy named Chung was cool being civilized while I was not being civilized due to being charged $50 for a test two weeks prior. I was told to just bring my insurance card and that was it misleading me that there's a hidden charge and they blame it on my insurance and then I call my insurance. They said they just need the bill my insurance and they will cover it. Also for the test it's only on tablets that the screen barely registers your finger touching your answer so while you're watching the clock just go down you're at risk of getting the answer guaranteed incorrect and I don't see any possible way to get accurate results if the tool that they give us is not working properly, even though it looked brand new. Seems to me there's a lot of people working there, but refusing perfect candidates who need help but finding any excuses to not help them the more I say it the more it sounds also looks very bad towards this so called professional company.You have the lobby people making jokes on every person that struggles in that place pretty sad if you ask me what this world has come to.Turn my five star rating to a one star due to this reasoning. read more

I deleted my last review and wanted to give a less emotional review. I saw Jessica starting in 2021 for BPD. I was doing well. Jessica saw bipolar symptoms but chose to not push it further. In March 2023, i began to show symptoms of a psychotic break. I remember begging for extra support, but Jessica said no. She kept recommending group but group was not helpful in my psychotic state. I was scared. I didn't know what was happening. I couldn't understand. Jessica doesn't take criticism well. She 20 minutes late to my session and I have yet to get an apology. I was psychotic, suicidal and self harming yet Jessica didn't trust her own clinical judgement. Instead of sending me to the mental hospital, she waited on others to make the decision. Even when I would self harm in session, she sent me home and sent me a discharge email. I was so fragile that it led to an attempt. She makes if seem like I wasn't getting better on purpose. But she could not understand I was psychotic. She discharged me with no referrals. I remember Telling her that I felt like. I was fighting this alone and she said. That was a good thing and it wasn't a good thing because I couldn't fight it alone. Overall, my psychotic episode was traumatic and due to her actions, new triggers have appeared. What I want to see change is better psychosis training in your clinicians. It wasn't my fault this happened. It wasn't my fault what I did during my FIRST EPISODE. I would like to speak with the owner on training opportunities or something for the staff. read more

I would not recommend this clinic and would actually give a negative star review if I could. I travel for work as a nurse anesthetist. I leave this Friday to work in a remote area for two weeks. It's a very small critical access hospital. I will be running out of medications the middle of the first week I'm up there. The provider, Roya, said she will not allow me to refill my medication early. For a history, I've been on the same medications for more than 5 years. My previous provider was awesome and understood the odd schedule of leaving town with no access to refill meds and ALWAYS allowed an exception as I would show her my schedule in case she needed proof. She left the practice as management changed and I'm patiently waiting for her to get established at a new practice so I can leave lighthouse psychology once and for all. Cannot wait!!! When I find out where she works I will update all who read this!!! Piss poor service! This clinic discharges patients regularly. I got a letter with very little explanation. I was sent here through the VA's Community Care program, I was able to be seen quicker than through the VA initially. Once they decided to put me on a particular medication thats when everything fell apart. The VA requested an explanation from my provider, Kelly Huffaker, as to why this particular medication was chosen. To my shock Kelly refused to provide this information to the VA which left me without a prescription. I spent a week calling between the VA and Lighthouse, without any help from Lighthouse I had no choice but to have the VA assign me to a more competent mental health provider. read more

My daughter has severe anxiety and depression, for the first psychiatrist appointment with Dr. Ramirez I went in with her to make sure the doctor knew exactly what was going on, plus my daughter was not 18 yet. After initial questions aimed at her I began to describe what was happening, she didn't seem to care about my input and let on that my concerns were overdramatized, not that I know my daughter or anything. My daughter then went without me for the next 2-3 years where we would laugh at the 3 minutes it usually took to see her. We would joke if she was actually in there for over 5 minutes because it would be a new record. It was funny until she had a major mental crisis which was met with a short Teladoc appointment and additional meds. The additional meds almost killed her, when they say some meds can cause suicidal thoughts they aren't joking. It was like watching a zombie walk around for 2 days then a very scary trip to a mental health center. Since then she has gotten a new psychiatrist, not at this facility and things are great. Lighthouse was a huge disappointment. If your job is to help people with mental illness then there needs to be follow-up and actual discussion not just a quick fix with medication. You can't actually get a clear picture of what's going on in 3 minutes. read more

Wow I thought I was the only one ticked off by the way the front office is handled. I've worked as an admin for many years and a front desk associate at a LLC. The girls in that cubicle chat about everything under the Sun, unprofessional or not, and it feels as though we are interrupting them as we check in. Never a friendly smile, even. And to be honest I have to stay on top of my prescriptions and THEM because my pharmacy doesn't receive them in a respectable time. It's usually a headache come refill time. And this is the sole reason I am thinking about switching doctors offices. Giving it 2 stars because I do like my doctor Dr. Ramirez. I just really wish they answered the office phones instead of hiding behind e-mail. They sure do have their personal cell phones in hand behind that counter. I even tried to call while I was in the waiting room. And you couldn't hear ONE RING back there. It's like they have everything silenced. PEOPLE this is not a tranquil massage therapy place. It's a doctors office. Answer the phones! Not everyone can keep tabs on email. Some of us actually work busy lives and do a lot of moving around. Tsk tsk. And Mr manager sir. STEER CLEAR of this place if you value your mental health. They never take phone calls and hide behind emails as their mode of communciation. It takes days to get acknowledged but they are super prompt to call and collect on bills. The front office staff is more focused on lunch and anything not related to work. They often seem confused and have screwed up at least one appointment. The bad reviews on Yelp are true but the Business Manager seems to just write it off. That should tell you how much they care. If they have an office manager, they should be fired because the way they run the front office is atrocious. We'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more

The other reviews sum this place up. It's impossible to speak to anyone via phone or email. Expect at least 5 days to get a response, regardless of urgency. We have had Lighthouse make two mistakes so far with prescriptions, and both times it took over a week to get someone to address it. Our doctor is wonderful, but she constantly asks us to email with questions and updates and we never ever receive a response. The front office is very rude and the overall vibe is that nobody here cares. We love our doctor, but I would highly recommend against Lighthouse based on the experience. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against this company because of how poorly they choose to communicate with their patients. They refuse to answer the phone and/or communicate by phone completely. They will only respond via email and the response you get will be condescending and rude. I've attached their response to my Better Business Bureau complaint so you can see for yourself how they choose to conduct their business and treat patients. Not once do they acknowledge their faults or address how they are going to fix this issue. They just make excuses and try to blame the patients for their negligence. I have been into the office multiple times and not once did I ever see the front staff answer a phone call, in fact I witnessed them ignore them all together. The staff openly gossips about patients and has zero empathy. This place is simply awful. They never answer the phone. If you leave a voicemail they respond by text to email their TMS or refill email, to which they never give a full response. My experience as a new patient trying medication for the first time, I scheduled a follow up per the provider's request 30 days from my eval. 3 weeks into the meds with a horrible adverse reaction to the meds, they refused to give me a priority appointment to modify medication regimen, and told me I could be seen after the already scheduled time and simply stated the provider "does not have any openings." I had to get counsel elsewhere to know how to stop that awful prescription this place prescribed! I would expect a provider to be more available when they're experimenting medication on you, but this operation is not working for us. read more

It's taken me a long time to write this review as I was in the midst of caring for my son and processing everything that was taking place. I would give 4 stars to Ms. Carol M. and zero to Dr. Ramirez, but this post won't let me... We had a very good experience with Ms. Carol, she was patient, compassionate, honest and helpful. She was exactly who my son needed to see at the time he saw her. I would highly recommend her, for a child or an adult who has suffered trauma. Dr. Ramirez, I would never recommend. I was disappointed with her arrogance. The first visit with her lasted maybe 25 mins, where she mainly spoke to me and slightly spoke to my son who was not willing to speak to her. From the slight interaction she had, her diagnosis was that he was autistic. Questioning how she came to that diagnosis, she gave me a referral to seek a professional exam. This second opinion, by a psychologist whom she recommended was an Autism specialist. The findings were, he was not Autistic but flagged for ADHD. After the exam was given to Dr. Ramirez, during a follow up appointment, she stated she could have her own diagnosis and that the professional testing didn't matter. That was it, she was not even considering other findings, a 3-4 hour testing of various specific tests vs her 5 min conversation with my son. I was surprised at how she handled that. The testing was simply for me but she only cared what she thought he was struggling with. Her dismissive attitude and how she treated me and my son made me never want to bring him back. Fortunately, before and after that awful experience, he has had some amazing Drs and professionals working with him, so I was hopeful that there was another way. We found an amazing holistic approach and found alternatives to pharmaceuticals - he is not on any medications, for anything - none. And he is Thriving!!! I will also agree with the previous post about the office staff. The issue I found was how unreachable the Dr actually was for any questions. She was far too busy to actually personalize a call or email. It always went through someone else. She is the only Dr. for this type of care that I wasn't able to speak to directly outside the 10 -15 min appointments. I'm sure there are far more personable places! It's worth finding one that you can feel safe and heard not just another patient rolling in, it doesn't have to be that way at all. :( read more

It was going amazing until I asked to see a new doctor. It felt like I was swept under the rug, a problem not worth dealing with. I talked to 3 separate receptionist, multiple different days/weeks, and all with different responses and no solutions. I was told I would be emailed or called in a couple of days but it has been weeks with no returned calls. When I have called and missed a person they text you a response to your voicemail. I loved it when it was going smoothly and I understand it's busy and difficult in today's time to make time to help someone but for what this profession is it's very important to people's mental health. I was apprehensive about going to see a mental health professional, however the environment here is friendly, informative, and respectful! Any time that I have a question and I follow instructions to leave a voicemail,I receive a timely response. If I email the response times are quick ,which I really appreciate when it comes to my prescription refills. I spoke to someone from billing and explained that I was not aware that the doctor that I was assigned was not yet "cleared" to be able to accept my medical coverage. I explained that I should have been notified of this matter previous to my accepting the appointment. The billing agent spoke to the manager and waived all except for a $65.00 "fee." I appreciate the agent for understanding my situation. I paid the $65.00 over the phone and kept the appointment. With that said, Lighthouse needs to do a much better job with communicating the cost of doing business to the patient prior to the treatments. I am leaving this with a 3 stars from a 1 star due to their waiving most of the unnecessary fee and would be a 4 if the $65.00 fee would have been waived. My review is not relating to quality of care and more about how short sighted they were in their response to my request for services. We were referred to Lighthouse by our family therapist. After completing the online form, sending the required photos of insurance cards, IDs, Etc. I received an email informing me they are not in my carriers network thus refusing to schedule my child. This was after I'd written of the importance of getting help for him. There are two issues with the refusal to schedule us. First, we were not asked if we wanted to come in as OON patients which we absolutely would have agreed to as we have OON benefits. To add insult to injury we have even satisfied the oon Family Ded. so if they checked our benefits they would have seen this. Long story short if they bill Cigna they would receive payments. However this makes no difference to us because we are fine with paying cash. We are currently self-pay patients at a clinic that does not participate with ANY insurance networks and this is fine with us. We simply send claims to Cigna and Cigna sends us a partial reimbursement. For a long time this was not the case, our first $10k or so was 100% self pay and yet we were fine with it. Anyway I replied to the email with the same info I am providing here and it did nothing. Never got a reply. I am a healthcare administrator and when we find a patient is out of network the first thing my staff does is check for OON benefits an then inform them of their options thus allowing them to decide whether to stay with our group knowing there may be additional costs, or find an in-network physician group. I do not understand how a patient is turned away over network status without considering other options such as using those Out-of-network bene's or being cash pay. Just an outright refusal . To her credit she did attach a list of other agencies. Still I am not any closer to getting help for my child. read more
