The billing department is dishonest! They charged me up front for the visit, and then when the insurance paid 95% of it, I had to talk to two different reps and then a supervisor to convince them to issue a refund! Basically they got paid twice for the same service and weren't going to give it back! I finally got them to agree to refund it (and at that, the supervisor only wanted to refund PART of the overpayment) by prepaying for the visit they hadn't even billed to the insurance yet! Not impressed with this office at all! NEVER EVER prepay for medical services when you have a high deductible!! So dishonest!! read more

Would be cool if they answered their phones. After going through the usual prompts, you're dumped into elevator music covers of Bryan Adams for a half an hour, without any estimated wait time, before finally being routed to voicemail, completely unprepared to leave a VO. Look, I called specifically to speak with someone, okay? Medicine requires promptness. How am I supposed to contact my doctor to report the debilitating side effects my new medication is causing? And my Redemption Psych user account portal is worthless as well. It contains zero contact information for the office itself. No email address, no direct line, no place to report and submit questions, concerns, or side effects. They don't want you contacting them, apparently. My Dr. was a pretty nice and understanding guy, but the front-end customer service is dragging the rest of the practice down. After some digging, I discovered they do have a phone number for after-hours texting of your messages and concerns. Although I have yet to receive a response from that service and remain skeptical I'll hear from someone. I read a lot of the bad reviews of Redemption on Yelp and Reddit prior to seeking care, assuming it was blown out of proportion, but so far poor customer service is right in-line with what everyone else is saying. In my humble opinion, the level of care and customer service for psychiatric care needs to exceed expectations, not add to a patient's pre-existing anxiety. At the very least, there's zero reason the phone numbers, text hotline number and email contact addresses shouldn't appear in our user portal. It's just dumb. It's also clear they're severely understaffed, as the lady who checked me in last week said she was just filling in for someone else. They need to pay their front-end staff more to retain good people if they ever hope to improve on the current 2.9 rating here on Yelp. Amanda Lowry has been amazing in helping me with some mental health issues. She is patient, kind, and so easy to talk to. She suggested I try Ketamine therapy - game changer! I was so anxious for my first ketamine treatment but Katie and Tatianna are amazing! They walked me through each step, and checked on me throughout the process. As they described it (which is spot on) ketamine allows your brain to relax and heal. It's like a spa day for your brain if you have anxiety/depression/s thoughts. Seriously couldn't ask for two better people to assist those needing ketamine therapy. Katie and Tatianna have impeccable bedside manner, are kind, and so knowledgeable about ketamine AND helping people be comfortable with the treatment. My wife went there for some depression issues she was having, they initially put her on Lamicital, which is a mood stabilizer, she went again and they tried to put her on rexulti. which is basically an antinueroleptic or antiphsychotic meddicaion priamarily used for schizophrenia. they have not even onec tried to prescribe her an SSRI. I have been in this game a long time and I feel like they are getting a kickback on prescribing Rexulti whichThe cost for Rexulti oral tablet 0.25 mg is around $1,504 for a supply of 30 tablets, depending on the pharmacy you visit. Today was my first day and everyone was pleasant and fast with getting me in to see My Practitioner. Danielle was super friendly and made me comfortable easily which was a godsend because I had a really stressful morning which sent my mental health into a downward spiral and headache. She was very thorough with my history, listened to my needs, brainstormed while talking me through her reasons, and recognized I had multiple overlapping diagnoses. We are trying me on a new med at the lowest dose and will see me in a few weeks and is willing to add other things if needed. KUDOS DANIELLE... I've been going to Redemption Psychiatry for years (maybe 3-4 years now). I've spent thousands of dollars here, between psych appointments, Ketamine, & TMS. The front desk staff has always been awful, never answering calls or responding to messages. However, the doctors were good. I had been seeing a doctor until December of last year, when I was told that she was leaving the practice. Fine. They transferred my care to another. Five months later, I'm informed that she is, too, leaving the practice. Fine. I put in a request to transfer to another doctor within the practice. Four weeks go by, I'm about to run out of meds, & I inquire about what's going on. I was told that I was denied by one of their doctors, so they sent their request to another who was out of town & couldn't respond. I was told that they would reach out with an answer. Now it's six weeks later. Out of meds. Haven't seen a doctor in 8 weeks. Still nothing. So I inquire again, and am given another lame excuse. Meanwhile, I'm getting emails from Redemption reminding me that my MEDS WERE GOING TO RUN OUT. Fast forward to today, I have found another practice. I still have NOT RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION from Redemption regarding my care. They dropped me as a patient & didn't even inform me. However, I'm still supposed to pay my outstanding balance of $27. Not going to happen. Meanwhile, I'm finding out from friends that they are currently accepting new clients! Woohoo! So glad that they can afford to take on the care of new patients, but not those who have spent thousands of dollars and who has been an existing client for many years. I am disgusted by the way that a psychiatry office would treat patients. read more

Walked in and was told I didn't have an appointment on file and that they could get me in three weeks later after driving way out of my way to get there. The gentleman behind me told me they just did the same thing to another person. I should have paid attention to the reviews. Seems they are earning their rating. Worst place ever to get psychiatric help ever. I was with them for almost five years seeing Mark. When I started seeing him he was at 83rd Avenue and Bell Road. For two years I was with him there and then they moved him to Chandler location 40 miles from my home. I was able to see him for another two years through telemedicine and then one week before my appointment they called and told me I had to come in person so they could get my vitals. I asked if I could visit the Phoenix office so I didn't have to spend the better part of a day for a 15 minute visit. He would not accommodate me at all because he was busy and the times his office had were not convenient. After over four years of being with them to not be willing to work with me and giving me no notice at all I find that horrible. They are dealing with my medications and psychiatric health but do not care at all. Do yourself a favor and find another place to be seen. They obviously do not care about their patients. read more

Where do I even begin? I had no idea that setting an appointment for my daughter with Redemption Psychiatry that it would change our lives forever. We seen NP Amanda Lowry and my daughter just loves her, as do I. She listened to our concerns and knew exactly what my daughter needed. Not only did she set us on the right path but she gave us additional resources for counseling. We were at a complete lost with my six year old daughter's behavior (who has been diagnosed previously with severe ADHD). I'm a patient here for ADHD, PTSD, and Anxiety, my provider is Dr. Mark McCoy. I honestly love this psychiatrist. I've been to another one but she wasn't nearly as nice and concerned about my mental health. Dr. Mark McCoy is very kind and genuinely cares and listens to what I have to say. It was very easy discussing prescription changes. The one thing I do have to say is that you have to be consistent with your appointments to get refills and it is sometimes hard to reach the nurse. (you don't have contact with the actual psychiatrist) It's been really easy for me and I get my refills on time it's just hard having an appointment if you need to reschedule. So far I've never been treated better :) read more

I am sure there are some good people that can treat patients here, but I had some major challenges. I do not like to be held against my will for refills of medication. If the timing of medication doesn't line up with an exact refill date, then you either run out or you rearrange everything to make an appointment even if the medication is important or if the appointment was made at an earlier interval than normal. Also, calling in to discuss what is happening will leave you feeling you are bothering them. At other doctor's offices, this is not the case. The attitude is very different here. I do not believe that patients should be treated like a bother when calling in to ask for updates AND calls should always be returned...especially in this specific profession. read more

I brought my teen daughter in for a consultation regarding her antidepressant. She was doing well but had been previously struggling with some issues. Her medication was changed by her primary care, at my request. I felt that it was time to continue surveillance under a specialist in psychiatric care. We had seen Barbara Browder once before, a year previously. I like to see APRNs when possible, being one myself. Our first experience went well, although by the time we were able to get in (3 months from when I called, my daughter was started on medication and was improving), we really just wanted to establish care. Time went by, things changed, and ultimately, it was time to see the psych NP. We went in with nothing more than surveillance in mind, not wanting any changes. After I updated Barbara on all that had happened, including who had been managing her medication, she became very cold...much colder than she appeared at first. She made it very clear that she felt only a psych provider should manage psych medications. I disagree....especially when it takes 3 months for someone in need to get in for an appointment. We were lucky this time, as she had an opening only 3 weeks away - although that was rescheduled twice. I opted not to argue, as I just wanted to be sure my daughter was getting care so I bit my tongue. At the end of the visit, she says it looks like everything is fine. I asked when she would like to see my daughter back and she informed me that she wasn't comfortable with that and we should find a new practice! I was dumbfounded, and then very angry. She offered to "debate" with me about non-pysch providers and scope of practice. I told her I didn't think there was a point, grabbed my kid, and left. I was so outraged I was shaking. I felt like she cared nothing about my kid. I suspect it was a p*ssing contest about scope of practice and my kid wasn't important. I found a much better place, where my daughter does her therapy, and we had a wonderful experience with the doctor. Here's a little funny tidbit - she must have forgotten to fire us officially - because we never received the letter required listing follow up resources when dismissing a patient from your practice. AND, I got a call from the office to schedule my daughters follow up visit! I politely informed the woman who called that we were not ever returning, and that we were told my daughter was fired. The woman said she would share this with admin at the Chandler office, apologized to me as she mentioned that this has happened several times with this provider. read more

I have never been seen by a doctor the way that Amanda Lowry sees me. I have a really hard time going to the doctor because it feels like they never listen, but I had such the opposite experience with Mandy. She is more compassionate and empathetic than any psychiatrist/PCP/NP I've ever seen. She values the time she spends with her patients and truly listens and responds to them in a way that they feel seen and heard. She builds her relationship with her patients with trust and understanding as the foundation. She is passionate about truly helping them and shows that through the way she communicates and her thorough treatment plans. Because of this, when you are in her office, you feel like she is your number one fan and is there to actually help you. She helps you build confidence in yourself even when it feels like that is not possible. I feel like I couldn't recommend her enough. read more

NP BARB BROWDER is probably the least compassionate, horrible practitioner I've ever had. She will not listen to you at all, and this is the type that treats everyone who asks for 10 benzos, like an addict. When I asked to switch providers, she spited me by not upping my antidepressants. After iI didn't even say it to her! If your at that point in your career, you need to go. I work on a cancer floor, which is also a sensitive area, and would NEVER dream of talking to people like this Karen does. Stay away, seriously. She's just super unpleasant and useless. read more

She makes sure you're good and comfortable, explains the process step by step, and is just a very calming person. Ketamine treatments for me are literally a life saver. Absolutely amazing psychiatry office. My daughter saw Rachel Eager who was kind, compassionate, very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly. My daughter loved talking to her. The office is clean, the staff are all kind, the office of the provider is comfortable with toys for the kids. She reports that she sees kids very young and is very conservative in her treatments in that she starts with medications that are have the least potential side effects before jumping straight to the powerful meds that come with a potential for a lot of side effects. I would definitely recommend this company and would definitely recommend Rachel E as a provider. Thank you. read more

I explained to my doctor what happened with Dr. Browder and she mentioned that she's heard nothing but negative things about Dr. Browder from her other patients that left that practice. She is not consistent with the things she says and what she thinks my dosage is does not match what is says on the bottle. She cares about her patients and treats them like family. We also love her dog Prim who my son looked forward to seeing as well. Without going into too much personal detail, I would like to give my perspective thus far as a parent of a patient. We recently moved to the area, and my child had a strong rapport with his previous psychiatrist. And while he doesn't tend to "warm up" easily, he left his first visit at the Chandler office with a smile and said he get very comfortable there already. As a parent, I felt he was talked to without condescension and my concerns were also taken into consideration. The support staff was extremely helpful over the phone and very competent & responsive in person. Over time I hope to give this location a 5-star rating, but I don't feel like we have had enough interaction for that at this time. I couldn't speak highly enough of doctor Rachel eager. She is amazing. She has helped my daughter from age 6 (and still is currently) when she was in her darkest time. My daughter struggles with anxiety and it is crippling. With Rachel's help, my daughter has been able to be treated with medication while also going to therapy and she's worked through so many of her major triggers. She's fully functioning in school again, which is huge considering she couldn't walk into the school without having a panic attack before she started medication. She's also been diagnosed with adhd, which we definitely knew she had but the testing over there confirmed it even more. She is now being treated for that as well and has little to NO behavioral problems anymore! We could not have gotten through these hard times without Rachel eager. read more

It's possible that we were one of those high maintenance patients but this office always treated us with unwavering dignity and patience that I am really grateful for. The first time we met with Amanda, we lacked hope and were in a very dark place- but our life has completely changed through Amanda's guidance. Initially, our visit was for my daughter who was severely depressed and anxious. Not able to cope with life. Amanda started us on this journey to get her the right medication care and her recommendations are working for her. Okay so I have been a patient here for over a year. Over the year, it started out awesome and now the staff and management is HORRIBLE. I am in day 5 of NO meds because these idiots can't even return a phone call. Have called multiple times over the last two weeks just to go through hoops and hoops just to even get an appointment or med refill. My doctor stated if I go off meds abruptly, ill have seizures. No claims she never stated that. So essentially, this was her way of pushing medication on me that I didn't need. We have never had any issues with scheduling, medications or lack of support.
