Renaissance Medical has made the experience so exceptional, that I had to write a review to congratulate them on doing everything right! I have been seeing the doctors and PA at this practice for over two years, and both my wife and I have always had great experience. From scheduling the appointment, to post-visit follow up everyone we interact with is extremely professional, pleasant and very helpful. I also appreciate the efficient workflow. Their patient portal is very useful and easy to use. Also, I love the fact that I don't need to fill out a million form every time I come to the office. It is all on the portal. Most important, I NEVER had to wait more than 5 minutes on a scheduled appointment. Finally, most impressive, the doctors and PA's NEVER rush the appointments. They spend as much time as needed, and actually talk to you not at you, and ask you how you are doing. Bait and switch, bad faith medical billing practices. I was under the impression that the point of the annual physical was to be preventative. Ask questions, and if anything is wrong, discuss potential concerns, and since it's preventative it's covered 100% by your insurance. Apparently, that's not correct. According to their office staff, if the doctor asks you a question you have to say "I am here only for a physical, and if you think it's needed we can discuss that at an office visit, please proceed with only the services included in the physical." What's the point of the physical if you can't discuss anything? Verify you are in perfect health? It seems like a bait and switch tactic to get you into the office with a medical benefit that they have zero intent on honoring. Bad faith. read more

Scheduled an appointment as a new patient, tried to reschedule as something urgent came up, was told they could only cancel and don't allow new patients to reschedule. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard and I was considering just keeping the appointment because I really wanted to go to Dr. Vaughn but before I could even change my mind on the cancellation the receptionist hung up on me before I was finished talking. read more

I am so glad I found Dr. Williams-Vaughn. She always goes above and beyond in caring for my family. PA Eric recently made the day of my son's injury go from crazy to calm. The office staff at first was great but they have gotten progressively worse. It is very difficult to get information from them or to create any dialogue outside of making a doctor appointment. Dr. Williams was the positive experience in my visit. She listened and was attentive to my needs and concerns. I really enjoyed her honesty. What I didn't care for is the administration of this staff. I received a phone call regarding my blood work and was asked to call back. I had to call back three times before the topic was even addressed. Two voice messages left and I got Andre on the third call. Andre said I needed to come back in to schedule another bloodwork. I scheduled the appointment but I had further questions about a referral I received, and said I would like this discussed as well. I arrived this morning and there wasn't a record of me having an appointment. I was sent into a room and told to wait. The phlebotomist came and took my blood and I was told I could leave. The referral wasn't addressed so I asked when I left when that was going to be reviewed. They sent me back into the same room and I waited another five-ten minutes for one of the office personnel to come back with an updated referral to a correct doctor type. There was no apology or concern for the fact that they were wasting my time. I took PTO from work for the doctors appointment. For them to not care/show any concern regarding my anger isn't acceptable. You know they made to sure get that billing information to me first. The doctors office is a service provider and my insurance is paying for services, so aren't you supposed to address my concerns? read more

She takes the time to listen and talk to her patients. She thinks outside the box and doesn't placate her patients with what they think they want to hear. I was looking for a PCP near my house and this happened to be right across the street. I called and made sure they took my insurance and they did, i then asked to schedule an appointment and the young man said i would have to fill out new patient paperwork online or can come in and do it in person. Since I live right across the street I just ended up coming in. I walked in and didn't see anyone at the front desk, an older man in a suit stood behind the desk looked up at me with a confused look and said "can I help you" I responded I'm here to fill out new patient paperwork. He then said "you know you can do that online" I responded "well I'm here now so it's fine" as he walked up towards me to grab a new patient paperwork he said in an annoyed voice "it's so much easier to do it online" ...SO unnecessary and rude?! I then realized he was the Dr.? Dr. Carroll! Which makes this even more horrible because why would you want your first impression to a potential patient to be so rude? I then asked to confirm "are you the doctor" and he said "yeah one of them" and I said "never mind then bye" and walked right out. A patient and Dr relationship is super important, this person is supposed to be the person who is going to know every single thing about your body and health. I've been a patient for 8 years and have never had a negative experience. Dr. Carroll is highly competent and compassionate. He treats problems aggressively, but he would rather keep you in optimal health. He doesn't over-prescribe nor refer out to a specialist unless it's necessary. His PA Barb is outstanding! This place overall doesn't seem to have their act together. I requested an appointment online (as I was told to do) on a Thursday didn't hear back so I called Friday afternoon and there was no answer. I get an email Monday morning saying that my appointment was that afternoon at 3! luckily I went into work Early that day otherwise I wouldn't have made it! Then I see Dr. Imani who is very friendly and get labs done first thing Tuesday morning, I was told it would take 2-3 days to get results and she would get me a prescription based off of that. It is now a week later, I had to call them, and they tell me the results haven't been given to the doctor yet seriously guys, wtf. I don't blame the doctors for any of this, I blame the front desk people...need better office staff stat! read more

Not only was Dr Carroll thorough in his questioning of the needs or my health, he directed me personally to a specialist and his team even set up the same day ENT appointment for me. He also was not hesitant to treat aggressively a 6 year ongoing foot issue that other doctors told me to use the OTC Which had no impact for years. I highly recommend Dr. Carroll and his outstanding team. He is also facilitating in resolution of other issues with me, specifically spine and sleep. I've been going here for 13+ years. I started seeing Dr. Regis when I was about 5 years old. Her and her staff have always been inviting, caring, and extremely helpful to me. I am 18 years old now, and I still see Dr. Regis if I have any medical issues. She has gained my trust and I feel I can tell her anything. I had to see other doctors, due to an insurance change, but none were her. Now, I only see her, even if I have to pay out-of-pocket. It doesn't matter, because I know I'm going to go to someone who is going to give me the facts and advice I need to maintain my lifestyle. Yeah probably not going to come back to Renaissance. My experience as far as booking the appointment and accessing my patient portal was great as the technology they have is pretty superior. Aside from this, I really relate to the review below where a gentleman said that he felt like a number at this establishment. My appointment was at 10am, I waited in the lobby until around 10:30, then I didn't even see the doctor until around 11:05. When Dr. Imani came in she chatted with me which was nice, I stated my concerns and she brushed them aside as if they weren't a big deal. It felt more like a therapy session than a doctors visit as it seemed like she just wanted to get me out of the room. Before my appointment, I was not instructed to fast for any blood work, yet when I came in they shrugged and told me I could come in for a separate visit to complete this. I have a full time job, I don't have time to be in and out of the doctors office. After having my blood pressure checked and my temperature measured, I was sent on my way with nothing but time wasted. Seems like a joke to me to have to pay for a visit where I was basically told that stress is the only thing thats wrong with me and that I have to take it easy. Needless to say, Renaissance is not getting another copay from me to have my blood taken when I could have done all of this in one visit. I already dislike having to take time off to go to the doctors office unless something is really wrong...this has only put me off more... read more

I've disliked this place from my first appointment but continued to give more chances. I've seen Eric, Dr. Williams-Vaughan, and Martha. All of them are not personable at all. I am always uncomfortable talking to them. It also seems like they just run pointless tests, probably to get more insurance money. Martha continually said she didn't want to seem pushy but was one of the most pushy people I've met. Even the office staff is not friendly. The only good person there is Andre, the medical assistant. Dr Imani Williams Vaughn is a joke!! She is evil and without a heart. I wanted to see Dr. Carroll because he's amazing. I went in on Dec 28th, 2017 because my son had commited suicide on December 8th and I was and am having a very difficult time. I was downstairs housesitting when my son shot himself in the head. I'll never get that sound out of my head!! Of course this sick woman insisted I tell her the entire story, and then she precedes to tell me that Dr Carroll is also having a really hard time because he's lost a lot of patients over the last couple of weeks, so she's had to be there for him. And that she has twin 8 year old boys, so she can relate?!? Really? I cant imagine that Dr Carroll wants his business out there!! Then the next words out of her mouth were, "Well, I'm not going to prescribe you any meds. Maybe in 3 weeks or so"!!!! My jaw fell to the floor!! I pulled out a baggy with 5 or so xanax that my friend had given me, and thank god she had, but Dr imani scolded me for taking meds that weren't prescribed to me!! Then she asks me if I'm thinking about hurting myself, and I answered, " YES, everyday"!!! She says Oh! Well I'll go ahead and give you 20. She repeated 20 at least four times. Then she asked if I'm having trouble sleeping and I told her YES!!! So on the bottle it said take for anxiety and or insomnia. I went back to the office on Jan 17th for my appointment with Martha. (She's wonderful) and asked for a refill of 20 xanax. I still had four left but I was afraid to run out. Two days later I called my pharmacy and I was told that I have to make appointment!!! Dr Carroll and Martha are great!! But miss Imani Williams Vaughn is a complete waste of space!!!! If I could give zero stars I would!! At some point in all of our lives you'll unfortunately feel intense grief, and this Dr is extremely Ill equipped to handle!! She's in the wrong profession!!!! read more

My family and I have been patients for more than 10 years. This is the BEST medical practice I have ever used. The doctors and PA's take time to get to know their patients and have always been responsive and supportive of all our needs. We are typically able to get same day appointments when necessary. Additionally, office wait times are almost nil. I find it interesting that those bad reviews do not live in Arizona. Is it possible there are "Renaissance" practices in other states and they have reviewed wrong practice? Seriously - the office has had to stop taking new patients sometimes so they can manage their practice to cater to the patients. Don't be afraid to try them just because of a couple of less than perfect reviews. There are always two sides to the story - and unfortunately, the docs can't tell theirs due to privacy laws. No notification that they were closing their Maricopa office. They supposedly sent letters out, funny I got the bills though. They also never registered my children's shots with the state. Thank goodness I had their shot records. I would have been irate if I had to put my children through the ordeal of getting shots again. They lost 11 test results and consultation notes in the span of 6 months. The final one I had faxed over 7 times and for some reason they still claimed they hadn't gotten it. After calling through out the day and standing in the office for more than an hour they finally printed my results and sent me on my way. The next day I recieved a ntice that they would no longer provide me service. As if I would consider going back at that point. Staff was rude, doctor was horribly rude and poorly informed.
