"carmelized apples walnuts & bananas" was more like canned apple pie mix dumped on bananas & french toast. Not a walnut anywhere! Cinnamon/sugar/ whipped cream? I suppose the apple pie glob had cinnamon & sugar - but that's like saying it contains bread! The delivery took 30min (well under the 60min they quoted) Everything was ice cold. I know it's winter- but can't they find insulated carriers for delivery? Sure I can nuke it warm, but toasted bagels don't reheat well when this cold. I've been back twice since my first review, and the food and service both excellent each time. I had a Chicken Parm Sandwich my second visit! YUM... I went this past Sunday with hubby and Mom. I had the Mexican Omelet, hash browns and a corn muffin. Hubby had the French Toast Special with carmelized apples, bananas, walnuts, cinnamon sugar and whipped cream, and Mom had Scrambled Eggs with sausage, hash browns and ww toast. We stopped by for breakfast on a weekday morning. I saw the 3.5 stars and thought it would be worth a try. Big mistake on our part. Food - It's REALLY tough to screw up breakfast food but this place took it to the next level. My husband ordered his usual corned beef hash that came with eggs and hash browns and I ordered the "lighthouse keepers choice" (bacon, eggs, grilled corn muffin and hash browns). The hash browns had a really strange taste to them. It was a combination of a fake buttery flavor mixed with that freezer burn taste and it was not pleasant. It was the first time that we did not eat our hash browns. Our eggs were gummy and overcooked. The corn muffins from costco taste better than the one served to me. We barely finished our food...something that never happens! Service - Here's where it gets interesting. My husband found two black hairs under his hash browns. But, he didn't say anything because he wasn't going to finish his food anyway. While he was in the restroom, I asked for the check and mentioned to the waitress that there were hairs in the food. She immediately got defensive and angry and said, "nobody in the kitchen has hair". I was confused because I saw the cook in the back and he had hair....black hair. I told her that we were still going to pay for the meal and that we weren't upset about it, but she continued to say that nobody in the restaurant had hair when we clearly saw the cook in the back with black hair!!!!! So confusing. She gave us a $3 discount on the meal (one star for that) and we left hungry and with a bitter taste in our mouths from the whole experience. read more

One of the worst restaurants we've ever eaten at. I ordered the rueben and my husband ordered the tuna melt. I had to eat my sandwich with a fork and knife after 2 unsuccessful attempts to bite through the corned beef. It was so tough and unappetizing that I only made it through half the sandwich before giving up. My husband finished his tuna melt, but it was beyond "nothing special". It was at least more edible than my sandwich though so that's something. Both sandwiches came with fries that were greasy and tasteless. They could have been salvaged if served with real ketchup, but whatever generic sugary garbage that they use was not up to the task. The best part of the meal was the Diet Coke. We each received a can which is better than the fountain RC Cola I would expect the be served along with that wreck of a meal. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone for any occasion. I was in high hopes when coming here due to positive reviews but was rather disappointed. I ordered the Mediterranean omelet and asked for egg whites only but they didn't follow my request. Also the coffee service wasn't so good. Only got one refill. The reviewers are correct about big portions and I like the fact I can choose to have a bagel with my meal. The food did come out quickly but it took 15 minutes to get our bill and another 10 mins for them to process it. Meanwhile other people around us were taken care of quicker it seemed. Disclaimer we went to Lighthouse today bc we knew we could find parking & we knew there is never a wait. That being said, there is never a wait for a reason... I've been maybe 3 other times. The food is always a little off. It comes so fast you'd swear it was already cooked. After today's meal I probably won't be back. The bacon, which I think I paid $2.50 for as a side, was inedible. I didn't even know there was such a thing as inedible bacon. As soon as the waitress put it next to me I could smell it & not in a good way. It smelled like dirty mop water & tasted like what I think dirty mop water would taste like. It should be noted my friend also ordered a side of bacon & her 6 year old daughter took one bite & promptly put it back on her plate. So we spent an extra $5 on uneaten bacon. I'm still stunned because in my whole life I've never had such vile bacon. My omelet was ok but honestly I was so skeeved by the bacon smell that I could not enjoy my food. I give the second star only because I think the food could be very good at a reasonable temperature. We ordered breakfast, through Foodler, before 10am, and we received brunch, cold, at 11:40am. We called several times and, while apologetic, the restaurant did not offer any compensation or even explanation for the two hour wait. That said, after a trip through the microwave, my tepid coffee and congealed eggs benedict were at least edible. This place has become our go-to for a quick weekend breakfast when we're too lazy to do dishes. I think the prices are pretty reasonable. A Mcgriddle meal at Mcdonalds costs like 6 bucks these days - you can get a filling breakfast and coffee for $10 or under here that won't make you feel gross. The food is mostly breakfast food like my mom used to make on Saturday mornings growing up in rural America - recognizable, familiar bacon and eggs and French toast. Nothing artisanal or mind-blowing but good. The bacon is thin and crispy, which is how I like it but some people like thicker bacon. The four stars are for the dining-in experience. The delivery is more like one-and-a-half stars. What sounds better than breakfast delivered to your door, right? Unfortunately, it's not worth it. The first time we tried ordering the food just never showed up, and Grubhub refunded us. (Admittedly this was the morning after Halloween parties so I can see how they were overwhelmed - but still poor service!) We tried again a couple months later and the food did arrive, but there's something unsettling about lukewarm eggs overeasy and hashbrowns in a styrofoam container. I've been here about 4 times mostly with a buddy from Medford. As some other reviewers have mentioned the upside of this spot is quanity. They have huge omelets which are decent. The eggs benedict is horrible though , even though they give you 3 muffins . This is my go-to weekend brunch spot if I'm looking for quick and close. It's usually pretty quiet if you go a bit later (in my experience anyway). Tons of French toast options, including Nutella and Banana which is amazing! Pancakes are always good, and I'm a fan of their Omelettes.
