I had an art deco lamp (see photo) which I rescued from being thrown out at my office many years…read moreago. The lamp has served me on my home office desk but recently the switch failed. I thought about fixing it myself but decided to hire a pro. Finding a place which restores old lamps which also had good reviews required some research but with the assistance of Yelp. I finally zeroed in on Lightworks. They did an excellent job of restoring my lamp. In addition to replacing the switch they also replaced the cord. They even found a plug which is appropriate to the era (see picture). They are not easy to find. They are located at the back of a rather large building with several tenants. Go north on 14 th Street from East Hennepin about 3 blocks until you reach Winter Street. Keep going straight across Winter on 14 th. It dead ends after about a block and Lightworks is on the left. In addition to repairs they have a nice selection of light fixtures which are restored originals or replicate vintage fixtures. Great if you have an older home. I highly recommend.

I happily joined to live vicariously through her life successes. And damn! I was blown away by how many beautiful fixtures there are! There was so much that was beyond my imagination. There were modern, vintage, mid-century, and luxury lights. Our style is mid-century modern, and we picked out a few that fit that aesthetic. Though, I would say there were just a few lights in the style. They were also somewhat limited on lighted overhead fan choices. But the best part was the customer service. We were able to build a "wish list" with an associate, where every item that piqued our interested was populated under her new account. There, you can review all of the details and customizations (like color, type of lighting, finish etc). There also seemed to be a lot on sale which was a treat!

I found Jason, "The Fanman," through ChatGPT. I called and explained what was happening, and Jason immediately took the time to talk with me and explain a few things I could try myself. Since my fan is mounted high on the ceiling, I had to hire an electrician to take it down. Unfortunately, it wasn't a simple fix, so we shipped it from Oklahoma all the way to Jason in Minnesota. He repaired it, and they shipped it back surprisingly quickly. The total cost was actually less than I expected. This Casablanca fan is 34 years old and had never given us a single problem until now. We really didn't want to replace it, and thanks to Jason, we didn't have to. I probably called him two or three times during the process, and every time he was polite, helpful, and patient. His staff was great as well. If you have a Casablanca fan that needs repair, I honestly believe Jason is the guy to call anywhere in the United States. Heck, for all I know, he may even repair them from overseas--I didn't ask! Great service, fair pricing, excellent communication, and a successful repair on a 34-year-old fan. You can't ask for much more than that!

All they could do is confirm that the two beds were not fixable. Uh, yes, your delivery assembly team told you that already. I thought they were coming out with new parts to fix the two beds. Nope. Next they promised to send new beds the following week. Following week, the King replacement worked, but the new Queen bed that was delivered was also unable to be assembled. I told the rep on the phone that I wanted all of it returned and my money refunded because I'm concerned about how long this furniture will last if it can't even get delivered without being broken. He offered a small refund of a portion of our bill and promised to assemble the next bed ahead of time to ensure no issues. The following week, the bed was once again not working, and had obvioisly not been assembled before delivery as promised. This time my husband who is an aviation engineer and DIY handyman around the house helped troubleshoot the assembly and managed to get the drawers installed and working (for now). We had guests coming the next day so weren't able to restart the furniture search. I'm just grateful my husband was able to troubleshoot the furniture. We will not ever shop at Bob's again. The 2 stars is because their delivery teams, their repair person, their salesperson at the store and their customer service teams were all extremely nice. Bob's just doesn't make good furniture. That's a problem. Three Queen deliveries and 3 were unrepairable or needing to be repaired. Unacceptable.
