One of my headlights burned out (bummer) and I was looking for replacement bulbs. I found Light Depot on an Internet search. I called and spoke to Dave, the owner. I wasn't sure what kind of bulb I currently had in my car, HID or LED, so he said to drop by and he would take a look.
The store is in a plaza on the south side of Sheppard Avenue East, just east of Brimley, and faces the front of the street. I couldn't find it at first because I didn't look at the units as I was driving in, so I parked at the far end of the plaza. The store is very small, and Dave was by himself, so he locked up and came out to look at my car. He knew exactly what I needed and showed me the difference between the 6000K and 8000k bulbs. I went with what I currently had and bought a set (you should always replace both, not just one). He also gave me a good recommendation of a place that would install the bulbs if I needed it. Payment is by cash or credit card, and Dave didn't try to persuade me either way.
I had a problem during the installation, and the auto shop suggested I go back to see Dave. The wiring was quite complicated for my particular car, and Dave spent well over 30 minutes outside in the parking lot trying to fix it for me. In between this, he had to run back and forth to his store to accept courier packages. He wanted to save me a trip, but also wanted to make sure the wiring was inserted correctly and was safe. He tested the bulbs, which were fine, so it was just the tricky wiring, and layout that needed work. It wasn't all that difficult, just time consuming and frustrating.
I thanked him for his time and gave him a generous cash tip, which he refused, but I insisted. I'm just glad the job was completed so I could drive at night!
Thanks so much for your help Dave! read more
