Dave is a direct and a real genuine human in an undisguised mechanic body that will give your auto 'buddy' the right touch so that it's back on the road taking you from A to Z without having to worry, "Did they use the right oil, or was it Canola? Dang it! OMG, people without a vehicle at the moment do not know how lucky they are that the only thing they have to worry about is their presto card refills!!!" Like really people, we go through too much already to have to even fight this kind of battle!! Without an appointment he lifted my car to take a look at what was wrong and proceeded to show me, in detail (and plain english) what was wrong with my brakes, exhaust etc. I knew I needed brake and exhaust work, and all other mechanics I visited gave me a rough estimate without explaining how, why or what specific work was required. Dave was happy to have me watch as he inspected my car, and then gave me a very fair estimate. When I picked up my car the next day, the final bill was actually less than he estimated, plus he changed the air filter (something he noticed that needed to be done while he was working on the car) Definitely a positive experience with a trustworthy mechanic in Toronto. Not the closest most convenient location to me (I live downtown), but just north of Finch Subway station (either walk or bus). I'll definitely be seeing Dave again next time my car has any trouble, and will be recommending him to family and friends.

I brought my BMW to Mister Transmission because I thought they were experienced with transmission…read more Do NOT go to this location, especially speaking to GUS or Ray the owner. They first tell you they have scanned the car to find out what exactly is wrong with your car. They quote you a low amount based on what they find on their computer. If you ask them for a quote, don't expect to get one. If you ask them to put anything on paper, you won't get one. They originally quoted on the phone around $800 to fix the transmission. Which includes $680 for removing the transmission, and the $100 for parts. They then phoned me back the next day stating that it would take $5000+ to fix it. By that time, your care is completely ripped apart....you feel trapped. They gave me an option of swapping the transmission. ZF transmission to be exact. A few days later, they told me that they can't get the transmission to fit because the plugs are different. I phoned BMW abou the transmission and they said ZF only makes one transmission. They later told BMW that they were trying to fit a Mercedes transmission into a BMW. Very brilliant!...I wonder where Gus went to school? maybe one for special needs. Anyway, after over 76 calls to the head office and their office. I got my transmission fixed after almost a month. DO NOT GO TO MISTER TRANSMISSION!!!!!!!!!
