Insteaf of promised 3 hours it took almost 4 hours to replace a windshield of my 2017 Honda. I paid $500 (deductible) out of $650. Shortly after picking my car I found that a part of the driver's seat rest is badly damaged. When confronted the owner, he bluntly denied it claiming that it's exactly the way the car came. Then he claimed that it could in fact happen in the shop but only because "the foam inside was on a verge of collapsing". Offered to repair it for free, "if you could sleep peacefully knowing that you're blaming me for what is definitely not my fault." He also offered to take a picture to show me a proof that it collapsed due to its age.
Straight from there I went to Honda Dealership, where they were shocked to see it and confirmed that it was definitely damaged because of a heavy pressure, most likely when someone tried to push out the windshield from the inside and pressed heavily on the seat. They also said that they have never seen anything like it even in Hondas of 2007, not speaking of 2017 with only 40,000 mileage. They managed to partially rectify it but advised to take a seat apart and remove the upholstery in order to fix it as it could have been bent.
When came to Speedy Glass shop next day at 9 am, the manager again claimed that he didn't do it, but will fix it "If you could sleep peacefully" and again offered to provide me with a proof that it was not his fault. When I asked how long it would take to repair, he replied that it's a big job and would take a full day. Before I left he walked around the car to point out at some minor scratches so that I wouldn't blame him for them later. Less than in hour he called me to say that the car is ready. When I came to pick it up, he immediately started apologizing by saying that I was right and that the foam simply fell out during the windshield installation and now it's all been fixed. Because there was no need to take a seat apart, he didn't take any picture. Then he added that "it does happen to some Hondas" (which was another lie since as I mentioned, I went to Honda dealership the day before). Although he did fix it to certain extent, the side of the seat is still not as smooth as it was when I brought the car to this shop. As a compensation he offered a pair of wipers, which I took only to find out that a pair of free wipers is offered to everybody who booked an appointment for windshield replacement on-line (which is exactly what I did). When I asked him why they tried to conceal the damage from me if they already knew about it, he replied that he wasn't aware of it and it must have been done by one of his employees, who already left for the day and he would talk to him tomorrow.
Would I take my car to this shop again? Definitely not! Would I recommend it to anybody? Absolutely not! It was a big mistake to go there in the first place.
Also, despite their claim that they use the same replacement glass that the dealers get, in fact, it's an aftermarket product. Next day I found that I could have actually replaced it for only $300. Just wasted my money and my nerves.
