Lift and Sprint has changed my life. Literally. No matter your fitness level (seriously!!!), Amy and Nic will make you feel comfortable with working out. When I started, I don't think I could run a half mile without dying. Now, I have several 5k races under my belt, and I'm hoping to do a 10k before the year is up. I still remember my first workout - my arms were so dead that I could barely turn the steering wheel while driving home. It was hard to imagine continuing to do it, but everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming. I was tired of feeling weak and tired, so I made myself go back. And back again and again, and now it's not so hard to make myself go. Once, I forgot to bring my workout clothes to work with me, so I went in what I was wearing (knee high rain boots, leggings, and a short-sleeved shirt). This is the kind of person Lift & Sprint turns you into, even if you thought it would never happen. The workouts won't be easy. But they are only 45 minutes. If Amy has had too much coffee on a Monday, you may find yourself thinking "omg, what have I done? Make it stop." But it's only 45 minutes, and trust me, you can survive 45 minutes. read more

I have been training with Amy and Nic at Lift and Sprint for about 4 years now and so far it's the only group workout that I've LOVED enough to stick with. And I've tried a lot of different types of workouts.... I love Lift & Sprint! I have been going 3x's a week for 10 months now and feel so much stronger physically & mentally! I recently got basic lab results after a physical too and all cholesterol etc were greatly improved! Amy, Cory & Nick make intense exercise feel fun and do able! Previously I would only hike & do the stair master at the gym but wasn't pushing myself and it was easy to make excuses to back out! I was always trying new classes, but struggled with the routine. Now with the accountability and coaching of L&S when I go back to the gym or hiking hills, I can tell I'm pushing myself & so much stronger because my baseline has shifted. I called the number on the Lift and Sprint website to ask about their personal training services. No one called me back so I called again to follow up. The woman who answered the phone told me she was busy driving, and the only reason she answered the phone is because she thought I was someone else. She said she would call me back, but she never did. This was not only disappointing, but completely unprofessional. The reason I contacted Lift and Sprint is because a couple of friends had told me good things about them, but I won't be giving them my business or recommending then to anyone. I'm a believer in the approach that Amy & Nic take to getting fit. I'm a tough guy to convince of pretty much anything but these two have me willingly showing up most nights to get my butt kicked in the best possible way... by the best possible trainers... and standing next to a crew of great people all pounding it out along with me. My wife was an avid Lift & Sprinter for over a year before convincing me to take advantage of the free trial week while I was on "vacation." That vacation left me more sore than any vacation I've ever experienced but I loved every minute of it. I'm 40+ years old and gave L&S a shot because I realized I was having a hard time running around the soccer field with my kids and wanted to see if they could give me the motivation, direction and support to get back into shape. Now I can honestly say I'm fitter, stronger, better conditioned and just plain happier than I've been since my mid-twenties. The workouts are focused and structured but Amy and Nic are adept at immediately seeing what level you're at and adapting things to suit your situation and needs. As a guy who literally couldn't run for :30 seconds without stopping when I first started, I was a bit worried about how I'd feel working out next to a bunch of people who were already fit. Turns out, almost everyone either feels that way or has felt that way at one point. Not only are the trainers awesome at helping everyone reach their full potential, the rest of the Lift & Sprinters are like the best support group you could hope for. Their motto of "No egos no limits" really rings true. Beyond the work outs they give great nutritional advice to really help you get to the next level and, even better, they're great people to sit and have a beer with. On top of that, none of the trainers get annoyed when I swear at them throughout the workout. I'm happy to say that not only can I now run the field with my kids without gasping for air, I just got back from a beach vacation where the results were evident in the fact that I am now in the market for some smaller waisted swim trunks. My weeks are just flat out better overall with Lift & Sprint in the picture (3x per week). I am stronger; I spend more time outside (with good people); I laugh more; I have healthier habits; I am more motivated. I like that workouts are only 45 minutes and that they are both consistent and varied (e.g., through the boot camps you develop and hone skills and different types of strength). I love that all ages and abilities are welcome; I'm especially inspired by the personal goals set (and crushed) by fellow team members. I found Lift & Sprint 3 years ago .... and I just love it. Amy, Nic, Nathan, Corrie, Kelly, all the coaches are nice, provide support and help us to build nice habits. Be outside for 45 minutes is great no matter the weather ! I also love our community where I met handsome people who became my friends. Currently, I get up at 6am for the workout at 6:30 am ! And you know what?! I miss it if I can't attend it !! Crazy ... Just come, try and spend a great time with Lift & Sprint. This is truly a quick and dirty workout, and man oh man does it leave you sore. I know if I haven't worked out all week, this workout will perk me up. It took me years to find my workout tribe in the East Bay, but Lift & Sprint was worth the wait. So many good things, but here's why I continue showing up 4 years and two kids after first joining: 1. A wide variety of trainers. Need a coach to really push you towards a pr? Or a ridiculously happy, positive coach (who still pushes you)? Prefer for a coach to tease you while you work out? How about a weekly session based in yoga that ends with a short back rub? L&S has it all, and I love that I can pick different sessions each week based on who I'd like to train me. 2. They meet you at your level. When I started, I was pretty sedentary (I'm a writer). Amy and Nic have never once made me feel bad or shamed because I couldn't do an exercise at the same level as others. That's pretty big for me, a person who will never be on American Ninja Warrior, and it's why I keep showing up. They also were able to adapt my workouts for my last two pregnancies. At the same time, they have always encouraged me to work harder, even if it's just one more lap or two more push ups. 3. The other people! I love the Lift & Sprint community and have formed several good friendships from it. They attract kind, good people, and it's just a bonus to get to catch up while you box or sprint. 4. Amy. She's a great trainer, hilarious and always seems to know when I'm about to give up and throws me encouragement. Her workouts make me cry, at least I'm laughing while I'm crying, right? read more

Im so glad I joined lift and sprint 2 years ago! With 3 workouts to choose from each day, I look forward to the fabulous combination of group motivation, personal attention, consistent workouts and support for long term goals. The instructors are wonderful- each with a slightly different flair - and the group dynamic is friendly, motivated, and non-competitive. Almost every day I walk over to Kensington Park to join the Lift & Sprint team for an insanely-efficient 45-minute workout. Class starts at 9:30 which gives me a bit of time to start work before heading over. But I watch the clock, because I am actually *looking forward* to getting to class. I know, right? When I get to the park, I smile when I see the van. I notice which trainer is there, which equipment is out. I look at the board to see what drills we'll be doing. Hill sprints? Boxing? Dead lifts? Partner carries? Burpees? Ropes? It all sounds and looks so absurd. But I know it'll turn out to be perfectly doable. I know I'll moan and groan while doing it and that I'll feel great afterwards. I know that I'll end up covered in sweat, heart pounding, muscles spent. And that over the course of the week, we'll hit muscles I hardly knew I had. I know we'll get in and we'll get the job done but that we'll also have fun. Good fun. Because that's how we do. At this point, it's almost beside the point that I look better, feel better, sleep better, focus better, etc. But that is also true. Honestly, I can't believe it took me so long to find this class, as it has everything I need and then some. Great workout, great locations! I was never someone inclined to exercise or to like it, so when I say I LOVE Lift & Sprint I think that means something! First, Amy and Nic are absolutely inspiring trainers. Their good humor and positive attitudes are genuine and infectious--how else to explain why I actually look forward to sweating with them? They have a focus on everyone's individual improvement, while at the same time manage to create a nice sense of camaraderie among participants. Amy and Nic obviously really know the science behind what they are doing, too. They are great at giving multiple variations for every activity so that the super buff can be working just as hard at a high level as the newbies are at a lower one. Also, every workout is different so you never get bored with the same old thing all the time. Plus: boxing! They provide mats and other equipment so you only need to bring some water. I also like their scheduling and pricing structure--one flat fee/month then it's up to you to decide how many times you want to work out. With 15 different sessions/week at a variety of nearby outdoor locations there's a lot to choose from. All in all, what's not to love? I always go home happy. I highly recommend folks give Lift & Sprint a try. I'd rate it more than five stars if that was possible! read more

Excellent trainers and great camaraderie keep it fun and keep me coming back--even in the rain! Very welcoming and effective for people of all levels of fitness... After I had back problems I tried to do core work on my own, but found it very hard to stick with. With Lift & Sprint I only need to muster enough motivation to show up--and then I'm guaranteed a great work-out (that always coaxes twice as much intensity from me as I could get on my own). Amy is a great instructor- motivating, positive, and knows how hard to push you to get the best work out possible. Over two years later and we are still avid Lift & Sprint members. Amy, Nic and their incredible team of trainers consistently keep us active, engaged and challenged--in all the best ways (even if we groan about it now and then!). Seriously though, if you like to exercise outdoors and with a group of fun and interesting folks, this is your place. We have always been runners, but Lift & Sprint helps us to do the other important work with weights, core strengthening and mobility exercises that we definitely would not be disciplined enough to do regularly on our own. And they know how to push us in just the areas that we need to be challenged (or when to back off and help us recover when we need to do that), in a super positive and fun environment. I love getting outside to workout with Lift & Sprint! They hold classes 6 days a week at various times: morning, afternoon and night. Lift and Sprint is a great overall body workout. You'll enjoy Kettlebells, slamming ropes, sprints, and body weight exercises all while getting some fresh air! I remember the night before my first Lift and Sprint session - I was so nervous! I still had "baby-weight," and hadn't really run in years. I shouldn't have been nervous. Amy, the trainer, was so welcoming that day, and so were the other people. In fact, everyone who works at Lift & Sprint is warm, encouraging, funny, and tough. The perfect mix for a great work-out. I'd done a similar bootcamp like work-out, and I kept getting injured. It was super frustrating. All the trainers at L&S show modifications for each exercise, so we can all be challenged and safe. I love the flexibility of times, and I also love the fun themes Nick and Amy come up with to keep us motivated and focused on different things throughout the year. Often my 45 minutes at L&S is the hardest part of my day, and just as often it is the best. And I love my family and my job! I am stronger, healthier and L&S makes me a happier person, and a better mom and teacher. I guess all that stuff you hear about exercise is true. If you are nervous because you are out of shape, just come - give it a shot. You'll be glad you did! read more

This Bootcamp is awesome!! It's a great combination of cardio and strength work. I love the variety and the partner cardio boxing work is my favorite part. You will feel exhilarated and exhausted after each workout. The trainers are very knowledgeable and give modifications for each exercise to cater to everyone. They offer a free week - take them up on that offer. You will be hooked and over time you will get leaner, fitter and stronger. read more

I love Lift & Sprint! The things that drew me to try L&S were the outdoor setting and the 45-minutes-and-you're-done workouts. I love that I don't go to a sweaty gym with mirrors staring back at me. Instead I'm outside in the fresh air. The Kensington park where I usually work out has a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay. That amazing view helps me to keep swinging those kettlebells. What has kept me going into my 5th year of working out with L&S are the people. The trainers are amazing! Lift & Sprint has a great variety of personalities and styles. Some trainers are more focused on certain techniques than others -- like Foundation back strengthening exercises. There's encouragement but never condescension or shaming. The variety of workouts means I never get bored and all of my muscles are getting worked. The people that are drawn to L&S are my people. We represent a variety of age groups, body types, and fitness levels, and we have fun working out together. I've made great friends through Lift & Sprint and they too keep me motivated to show up and work out. I cannot recommend Lift & Sprint highly enough. read more
