The problem turned out to be a mysterious leak in the part of the fridge that helps cool the air. But instead of trying to sell me a pricey fix, the repair guy suggested just adding more of the coolant fluid to give me some extra time to look around for a new fridge. My LG 6 year old French door refrigerator stopped working so I called LG for warranty info. LG did not have a technician in my area so they referred me to Lifetime Appliances. Matthew came out and for the diagnostic fee of $79.99, he determined the problem was the compressor and it needed to be replaced. I couldn't find my receipt so he gave me all the repair/pricing options and even though Lifetime could have made about $1000 in repair, Matthew was up front and let me know the unit wasn't worth the expensive repairs. (research LG refrigerator lawsuit). He also reprogrammed the Main Board to see if that needed to replaced. Luckily it worked and he didn't charge extra for that. I very much appreciated his honesty and the communication from Lifetime and him for the visit. He came at the front of the 3 hour window and called me about 20 minutes out. I found the receipt later that day and called them back and by the end of the day, I got a message that Matthew could be here the next morning. He was here by 9:15, was done in about an hour and accepted the receipt. He said Lifetime would take care of the warranty with LG and the labor is guarenteed for 60 days. I did have to wait 5 days for the appointment mostly because they are so busy with LG refrigerators but he was here in a timely manner, very polite, courteous and honest. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE if Lifetime is coming out as a contract service provider for New Deal Warranties (a HORRIBLE company, but that's a different review). Lifetime is there to protect New Deal, NOT you. I had a problem with a fridge door. The Lifetime tech came out and said it was a problem he'd seen before, a manufacturer's defect (which was the correct diagnosis - I have since confirmed with Frigidaire they acknowledge this common defect). I later called New Deal to ask about getting the repair done, and they told me the tech had called and said the door was broken because I was hanging on it!!!! I called Lifetime and they said they never call New Deal, just make an emailed report, and the report didn't say that. They were so nice I believed I was being lied to by sleazy New Deal - but then they played me the phone call with the tech were he told them I broke the door! So the claim was denied, of course, and Lifetime remains in the good graces of New Deal. So Lifetime lied to New Deal about the real issue and lied to me about calling them. They told me they're a faith-based company. If so, they'll have some 'splainin' to do come Judgement Day. read more

It was Christmas Eve and I had to cook that night and the next day. The "BAKE" part of my 2005 model gas oven wouldn't work. My oven manufacturer gave me a list of repair places to try. I called Lifetime Appliances and I received a call back within 20 minutes. Our refrigerator stopped working and everything was melting. None of my neighbors or friends had any room in their refrigerator or freezer because of the Covid-19. So Matthew squeezed us in and came out the same day to see if he could fix it. He asked me the model number and a few other questions so he would be prepared to fix it with the right parts. Matthew replaced one part and said hopefully the compressor will kick in which it did. Seriously, he could have told us the compressor was bad too and how would we know??? Our refrigerator is working now!
