I yelped several places and I came up upon this haircare studio. At first, I was told there was no appointment; when I explained my situation Laura/Lauren (the lady who answered the phone) was extremely understanding, very kind, very prompt with her communication and she set up a quick appointment for me!!!! This not truly speaks to their commitment, communication and thoughtfulness. But it also speaks to the level of service on some level. Once the appointment was set up, I drove in (of course, finding the space for a newbie in that area was a little difficult - to locate them ) ....that incident too shows their support!!!! they were so kind. They walked right up to the carwash area, spotted my car and guided me back to their door. confetti and brownie points yet again. I was brought to the second floor. A young lady helped with washing my hair, and then I got moved to Umber's booth. Umber is super nice, efficient. She understood exactly what I wanted and delivered. I wanted my hair with a tiny curl inward and she did it. She also applied some products so that I could keep my hair perfectly styled just in case it started to drizzle! I walked out feeling amazing. My hair was done just right and I was ready for the wedding.... They have a good collection of hair products. I also found some really nice refrigerator magnets. All in all, a beautiful hair studio in Ashburn - do visit !!!!!

I'm gonna start by saying I got this haircut from glow studios in 2024 so almost 2 years ago I wish…read moreI was able to post pictures to show how bad the haircut was they're sitting in my camera roll but won't let me post, maybe their staff has improved but honestly I received the worst haircut I've gotten in my life from this studio and unfortunately I'm still not over it like I thought I would be by now, I waited so long to leave this review because I didn't want to give it because I only went because my friend worked there at the time and I was just trying to support her work , so the first time I went I asked for a tone and cut, the color was fine for my hair but the lady cut my hair uneven it was slightly noticeably uneven I would say about 2 inches off when my hair was infront of my face, even tho that should've been enough for me not to go back for some reason I still decided to go back for another tone and cut but this time another lady, the lady I went to was super nice we talked the whole time I really did like her but as she was cutting my hair she told me to feel my hair and let her know how it felt at this moment I was pretty sure she barely cut the other side of my head of hair so then I told her it felt super uneven then she proceeded to gaslight me and her and another coworker tried to tell me half my head of hair grows thicker than the other and half my head grows more hair than the other THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THIS FOR BOTH HAIRCUTS!!! as if I don't know my head of hair for the past 20 years, she didn't fix my hair and since I was sitting down with the cape on still I couldn't see how terrible she has cut my hair until I got home, she had cut half my hair of terrible layers and forgot to cut the other half the same with layers, she had cut the layers terribly my hair became so thin, and then I had to go get my hair cut again at a different place to even it out and my hair is half as thin as it was, my hair was one of my favorite features it took my years to grow it out to my lower back and I care about it so much and I still miss it to this day, I held off of writing this review for 2 years because I really did like the staff they were nice and I told myself my hair would grow back and it'll be fine but it is still 2 years later and my hair is NOTHING of what it used to be and is still growing out from this terrible haircut I received I cried so much over my hair and I did tell my friend to tell the salon but they told me to call back but I never did because honestly no amount of apology's or store credits couldn't save my hair at that point so I left it, I still think the salon has a lot of potential the staff was very nice just unfortunately my experience shows me they are bad at cutting hair and this experience was with 2 different ladies, hopefully the salon has improved for their customers sake but unfortunately my hair had an awful experience here and it was genuinely the worst haircut I've ever gotten in my life and the worst haircut I've ever seen someone give in real life ALSO I would love to add that I gave both stylist very detailed instructions on how to curl my hair since my hair doesn't hold curl easy I knew they would just fall out if they tried to curl my hair like another other white person hair (I have Asian and white mixed hair) I was super specific with both stylists to tell them my hair needs a lot of moose and hair spray and my hair needs to be pinned after each curl I EVEN OFFERED TO BRING MY OWN SUPPLIES AND DYSON but they told em they can do it so I didn't they listened to everything I had to say then proceeded not to do it but to give me beach waves that I didn't ask for it looks like they only know how to do one type of hair and they're not diverse with styles they seem to only know how to do white people hair and they're don't listen to instructions I was super specific and if I'm paying for a service I would like to know if it can be done right instead of wasting my time doing it wrong and that's exactly what they did, they didn't listen to any of my instructions to curl my hair instead they did what they wanted or whatever was easier for them and gave me beach waves and didn't pin my curls when I wrote like so many paragraphs before I even got there asking if they can do it, they don't listen to instructions and they only give you the type of hair they know how to do, I don't think they're very talented and I genuinely have no idea how the girl that cut my hair got her hair license, I've never been so disappointed mad and hurt from a hair salon they did a terrible job on my hair and I definitely don't ever see myself returning, I wish this buisness the best and hope they can learn and grow from this mistake so it doesn't harm other clients

Not only did I get one of the worst haircuts I've had in years, my experience at Bang Salon was…read moreinsanely uncomfortable. I decided to try Bang as I am a member at VIDA. I was in dire need of a haircut and my previous hairdresser recently moved, so I booked an appointment with one of the more senior stylists online. My hair is pretty easy to cut... It's long, relatively straight, and fairly thin. No texture, not super thick - pretty easy. I just wanted a very light trim on my ends and a little shaping to my existing layers. What I walked out with was about 3 inches off my hair, and thick, chunky layers that almost give the illusion of a mullet. It's so, so bad. Aside from that, my experience with the stylist was just... uncomfortably weird. Without getting in to too many details, I found the conversation to be extremely awkward. Upon arriving at the salon, I was greeted by the sweet receptionist who offered me some tea. As soon as my tea came out, the stylist came and got me from the waiting area - didn't introduce himself - and sat me down in his chair. I took the opportunity to tell him what I wanted (he didn't ask), but could tell he wasn't really focused on what I was saying. Instead, as soon as I was done talking, I was peppered with questions about who colored my hair (stylist from back home that I've been seeing for years). He wanted to know her name, her age, how much she charged, if she was on her own or in a salon, everything...it was very strange. Even down to asking me if she was "a bitch." He then decided - totally unprompted - to share his political views with me, which are completely different from mine. I shut down completely. The whole interaction was so uncomfortable, and I could not wait to get out of the chair. All the while, I'm watching him cut my hair, knowing that the results were not going to be what I asked for. At one point in time, I genuinely wondered if I was on a hidden camera show. The whole experience was so strange. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

At no point was I advised that pricing would differ from my previous services. After my appointment, when I went to check out, I was told the total was $75 higher than what I have consistently paid in the past. I calmly explained that I had not been informed of any price difference. Michelle then mentioned that the salon operates on a tiered pricing system but this was only disclosed after the service had already been completed. Unfortunately, her tone and attitude during this interaction were unprofessional and dismissive, which left me feeling disrespected. As you are likely aware, Virginia law requires that the total price of a service, including any mandatory fees or surcharges, be clearly communicated before the consumer commits to the purchase. Price transparency allows customers to make an informed decision, and in this case, that did not happen. Teesha did a wonderful job with my hair and was very pleasant to work with. However, situations like this not only create frustration for customers, but also place stylists like Teesha in an unfair position as the unexpected additional expense kept me from giving her a tip. Unfortunately, due to this negative checkout experience and the lack of clear communication regarding pricing, I will not be returning to Salon Khouri and will be sharing my experience with others. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as the quality of your stylists deserves to be supported by equally professional and transparent customer service. Thank you for your time.
