I yelped several places and I came up upon this haircare studio. At first, I was told there was no appointment; when I explained my situation Laura/Lauren (the lady who answered the phone) was extremely understanding, very kind, very prompt with her communication and she set up a quick appointment for me!!!! This not truly speaks to their commitment, communication and thoughtfulness. But it also speaks to the level of service on some level. Once the appointment was set up, I drove in (of course, finding the space for a newbie in that area was a little difficult - to locate them ) ....that incident too shows their support!!!! they were so kind. They walked right up to the carwash area, spotted my car and guided me back to their door. confetti and brownie points yet again. I was brought to the second floor. A young lady helped with washing my hair, and then I got moved to Umber's booth. Umber is super nice, efficient. She understood exactly what I wanted and delivered. I wanted my hair with a tiny curl inward and she did it. She also applied some products so that I could keep my hair perfectly styled just in case it started to drizzle! I walked out feeling amazing. My hair was done just right and I was ready for the wedding.... They have a good collection of hair products. I also found some really nice refrigerator magnets. All in all, a beautiful hair studio in Ashburn - do visit !!!!!

I'm gonna start by saying I got this haircut from glow studios in 2024 so almost 2 years ago I wish…read moreI was able to post pictures to show how bad the haircut was they're sitting in my camera roll but won't let me post, maybe their staff has improved but honestly I received the worst haircut I've gotten in my life from this studio and unfortunately I'm still not over it like I thought I would be by now, I waited so long to leave this review because I didn't want to give it because I only went because my friend worked there at the time and I was just trying to support her work , so the first time I went I asked for a tone and cut, the color was fine for my hair but the lady cut my hair uneven it was slightly noticeably uneven I would say about 2 inches off when my hair was infront of my face, even tho that should've been enough for me not to go back for some reason I still decided to go back for another tone and cut but this time another lady, the lady I went to was super nice we talked the whole time I really did like her but as she was cutting my hair she told me to feel my hair and let her know how it felt at this moment I was pretty sure she barely cut the other side of my head of hair so then I told her it felt super uneven then she proceeded to gaslight me and her and another coworker tried to tell me half my head of hair grows thicker than the other and half my head grows more hair than the other THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THIS FOR BOTH HAIRCUTS!!! as if I don't know my head of hair for the past 20 years, she didn't fix my hair and since I was sitting down with the cape on still I couldn't see how terrible she has cut my hair until I got home, she had cut half my hair of terrible layers and forgot to cut the other half the same with layers, she had cut the layers terribly my hair became so thin, and then I had to go get my hair cut again at a different place to even it out and my hair is half as thin as it was, my hair was one of my favorite features it took my years to grow it out to my lower back and I care about it so much and I still miss it to this day, I held off of writing this review for 2 years because I really did like the staff they were nice and I told myself my hair would grow back and it'll be fine but it is still 2 years later and my hair is NOTHING of what it used to be and is still growing out from this terrible haircut I received I cried so much over my hair and I did tell my friend to tell the salon but they told me to call back but I never did because honestly no amount of apology's or store credits couldn't save my hair at that point so I left it, I still think the salon has a lot of potential the staff was very nice just unfortunately my experience shows me they are bad at cutting hair and this experience was with 2 different ladies, hopefully the salon has improved for their customers sake but unfortunately my hair had an awful experience here and it was genuinely the worst haircut I've ever gotten in my life and the worst haircut I've ever seen someone give in real life ALSO I would love to add that I gave both stylist very detailed instructions on how to curl my hair since my hair doesn't hold curl easy I knew they would just fall out if they tried to curl my hair like another other white person hair (I have Asian and white mixed hair) I was super specific with both stylists to tell them my hair needs a lot of moose and hair spray and my hair needs to be pinned after each curl I EVEN OFFERED TO BRING MY OWN SUPPLIES AND DYSON but they told em they can do it so I didn't they listened to everything I had to say then proceeded not to do it but to give me beach waves that I didn't ask for it looks like they only know how to do one type of hair and they're not diverse with styles they seem to only know how to do white people hair and they're don't listen to instructions I was super specific and if I'm paying for a service I would like to know if it can be done right instead of wasting my time doing it wrong and that's exactly what they did, they didn't listen to any of my instructions to curl my hair instead they did what they wanted or whatever was easier for them and gave me beach waves and didn't pin my curls when I wrote like so many paragraphs before I even got there asking if they can do it, they don't listen to instructions and they only give you the type of hair they know how to do, I don't think they're very talented and I genuinely have no idea how the girl that cut my hair got her hair license, I've never been so disappointed mad and hurt from a hair salon they did a terrible job on my hair and I definitely don't ever see myself returning, I wish this buisness the best and hope they can learn and grow from this mistake so it doesn't harm other clients

Today, I finally decided to bite the bullet and give Illusions a shot, and I'm so glad I did! My appointment for a gel manicure and regular pedicure with Tina was at 1pm, and I got there a few minutes early. We picked out polishes and then started the pedicure before moving on to the manicure. I was there for about 100 minutes total (some of the reviews said three hours, so I was relieved). Tina is METICULOUS and so nice. She has been doing nails for 30 years, and it shows! She was able to recommend what would look best, my cuticles look amazing, and the pedicure didn't even tickle me like it normally does. I paid $70 for both, and tips are cash only. This is not the place for an upscale, pampering spa day--it could use some updating, instruments didn't come in sterilized peel packs, etc.--but the price is right for a standard and high-quality mani/pedi.

This is a great salon and medi-spa. I see Angie, who is a…read moreRegistered Nurse, for medi-spa treatments. She is fabulous. Angie has a lovely personality, thoroughly explains procedures, and does top notch work. I recently had a mani and pedi by Tiffany. The pedi was amazing because of the massage. I've had a lot of manis and pedis in my life, but these were the best. Also, I was the only person getting a mani and pedi. Their set up suggests that only one client at a time is allowed to get a mani or pedi. I don't know whether this has always been their set up or if it's new due to Covid. Also, when getting the mani, Tiffany and I were separated by a plexiglass shield. From now on I'll only get manis and pedis from Tiffany at Radiance. My regular (non-gel) mani lasted almost 2 weeks! I recently had my hair colored by Teresa. She did a great job. She has also blown-out my curly hair a few times, making it nice and straight, but with bounce. Gabby has washed my hair and gives an awesome scalp massage! Radiance at Lansdowne takes Covid seriously and follows strict protocol to prevent transmission. They got an all-new building air filtration system early in the pandemic. All employees wear masks at all times: they don't even eat in the building as that would mean removing their masks! And, if you'd like the employee you'll be seeing to double-mask and wear a face shield, you can just let the front desk know and they'll accommodate your request. They follow an anti-Covid cleaning regimen that's VERY thorough and do not allow employees to work if they are sick. Before your appointment you must complete a questionnaire that assesses the possibility that you've been infected. You must call the salon from your car when you arrive for your appointment and they will let you know when you may enter the building. They have hand sanitizer at the door and expect all clients to sanitize their hands upon entering the building. I am super paranoid about getting Covid, but feel safe going to Radiance at Lansdowne.

I go to pay and am charge $113 before tip. When I ask where the other money is coming from they say, "you got your hair curled which is an additional $33" (plus another $5 eco charge?). If I would have been told that curling my above-the-shoulder hair was going to be an additional $33 I would not have moved forward with that. I was shocked that I was not told that at the time of styling that it would be a surcharge (and anyways, $33 to curl hair??) Writing this review to warn others of "hidden" charges. Perhaps this is standard but I was completely surprised and am turned off from returning.

You can tell she treats hairstyling as an art form and is completely focused on giving each client the best possible experience. I didn't realize I had a "level 4" person which meant I'd pay $300 for getting my roots done!! I opted on NOT get a haircut after realizing the person doing my hair was not very attentive, ... I am on the hunt to click with someone- moved here from CA where I had my amazing hairstylist in Orange County for 15 years. Here in VA I've been almost 3 years, and no one comes close. I digress. So the young lady in the front (looked out of high school- blonde, awkward two tone hair) was aggressive and said I was with a level 4 so that's the price because he's an amazing stylist. Well I didn't get my hair styled I got roots done! Yup, just my roots. Ridiculous. They didn't care that I didn't know it would cost that much and they looked at me like I was crazy. Wow- what a rip off. I won't be returning and I'm sure other stylists are great but their pricing, & level system is completely nonsensical. Beware!!

Instead of simply copying a picture, she talked through my hair, what would work best for it, and what I realistically wanted to do with it every day. After our consultation, we decided to go in a completely different direction and give me a pixie--and I LOVE IT. She gave me a soft, piecey, effortless cut that looks great without requiring me to fight with my hair every morning. I can wash it, let it dry, run my fingers through it, and go. Exactly what I wanted. What impressed me most was that Kelly wasn't just focused on giving me a beautiful haircut when I left the salon; she gave me a haircut that actually makes sense for me once I'm home. That is the difference between simply cutting hair and really understanding your client. Five stars for Kelly. I couldn't be happier with my pixie!

Stood by the desk, someone asked if I needed help, I said I had a 1:30 with Micheal, then was told to sit upfront and he'd come check with me. 20 minutes later, still sitting in the front when a walk-in came in, someone went to go ask Micheal and he said 20-30 minutes and he'd be with him. So I walked back to talk to him and he was deep into coloring someone else's hair, gloves on and everything. So I asked if I still had my appointment, he said "Oh yeah," then said he'd help me in a little. He came and grabbed me finally, then immediately started accosting me about how it's my fault I didn't walk over to him. I don't live here, I don't know who he is so how could I? He continued to accost me the whole cut, lecturing me how it's my fault I had to wait, he even said he saw me in there. 3-5 minutes into the cut he asked if I wanted product. I was so confused, he hadn't done anything I wanted so I asked "are you done?" He said yes, so I repeated what I wanted, then he told me no, he wasn't going to do that and then continued doing what I didn't want for 15 more seconds, then asked how I wanted to pay. My hair is so uneven and is completely fucked up. It's so uneven and he missed parts of my hair... He also works at Scotch and Scissors apparently and tried to get me to go there and told me it'd be $65 there instead of $45 at Village 9. $65 for a 3 minute cut while getting accosted and told he wouldn't cut my hair like I asked? This man is a criminal. I really wish one of the nice ladies at Village 9 would've responded to my inquiry for a cut, they would've been head and shoulders above him.

Yancy did a great job and she was such a perfectionist! I would give this salon five stars except that for this one visit, I did not expect to pay $50 for a 12-year-old's haircut. Ladies with hair - DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. The man who cut my hair (he did not introduce himself,…read moreso I have no idea what his name is) BUTCHERED my hair. I'm new to the area and wanted to find a stylist. I went in with long beautiful hair and asked for a TRIM, specifically half an inch off my hair that had long layers. He cut off so much hair that I can't put it in a bun anymore. He cut off at least 4 inches, and more on top. It's uneven and shaggy on one side. I was so upset, and he insisted he had only cut a half inch despite the piles of hair on his floor. I'm getting MARRIED in three weeks and absolutely devastated. He also manhandled my hair. I have fine, blonde hair. He combed my wet hair with a small comb and I had to ask him to use detangler. He left my hair dangling in my eyes for most of the time I was in his chair, which felt like torture by tiny razors. He also tried to charge me for a blow dry I didn't request and despite the fact that I asked him to stop halfway through. I still paid (but not for the blow dry) and tipped, because I'm a decent human, but he should have compensated me for the loss of my hair. This man has no business touching women's hair. I am a former hairdresser, now a lawyer, and I know a butcher when I see one. Stay away. If I could give zero stars to this salon I would.
