This location is not quite as swank as the one in North Scottsdale, but still offers a lot for the considerable monthly fee. Plenty of equipment in good repair, clean showers and locker rooms, a great kid's area, and pool areas (indoor and out) that would be at home in a vacation resort. I love this gym. The best thing about it is that it's not a "pretty people parade" type gym. Don't get me wrong, there are many attractive people who work out here, but I don't ever feel bad going here since I am not a 22 year old with a perky tooshie. Its a gym for all people of all fitness levels. My kids adore all the staff in the child care center. They are always doing something fun and get excited every time we go to the gym. I've taken several different group classes and I've enjoyed all the instructors. Keri Z is my favorite. Her yoga classes are awesome! Average gym. Nice (enough) locker rooms and equipment as well as 2 very nice swimming pools. Class instructors for the most part are good. The maintenance of this facility has definitely slipped, though. This is evident in the restrooms, lockers, as well as the audio and outside aquatics equipment. Lifetime is more expensive than similar gyms, but it's close to my home. Many of my friends (who shared similar complaints) have opted to go elsewhere. I recently completed a club survey and received a very condescending response from a local staff member. She basically told me she was happy I could find more customer-friendly class schedules elsewhere. I just don't think the staff cares much about member retention. I joined a couple of months ago. I have had nothing but exceptional service! The staff is warm and helpful. Geo S was the account manager that signed me up. Zero pressure! Best gym sign up ever! In the past I've either experienced high pressure or no information. This is by far the best gym joining experience I've ever had. Onboarding with Geoff was also fantastic! It's truly an evaluation. We aren't talking about a 5 minute tour with another 10 minutes explaining the machines. He really learned what I wanted to accomplish and then paired me with a trainer. My trainer, John Z is awesome! My workouts are tailored to me. John completely focuses on my goals. No canned one size fits all workouts! I'm absolutely loving Life Time! read more

The Best 24 Hour Gym around! You get what you pay for...Clean & 24 Hours. I go late at night and like that there are very few people there. My other gym is called 24 Hour, but seems to be only 18 Hour. Locker Rooms are huge & well maintained. Spa & Sauna are Awesome! read more

I just joined this gym and I'm literally in love with this gym. I've been to others in the valley (24 hour fitness, LA fitness and The Village) but this gym is the best one. The classes are amazing (that's the most important thing to me), there's one instructor, James that really knows what he's doing. I highly recommend any class he teaches, (I hate to over use this word but) he's amazing! The facilities are great and the locker room is well kept and always clean. They offer a one day pass and have frequent open houses, I suggest giving it a try! read more

I love this gym. I decided to go to this gym because of its daycare. They have a separate section for infants and only allow four babies per caregiver. In addition to that they have tons of classes and a lot of different activities including rock climbing. I love their indoor and outdoor pools. I have never been more unhappy with a gym than this Lifetime Fitness location. I would say at least half the time I go the steam room and/or showers are broken. I originally joined partially because of the amenities and also because I was told a location closer to me would be opening by the end of the year. I have recently come to find out that location won't open until the end of 2019 and now I am stuck driving almost 30 minutes to get to this location. On top of all that the amount of weight machines they actually have is less than most other gyms because they have dedicated so much space to upsell equipment to try to force you to pay extra for trainers and paid classes. I tried speaking with the person who signed me up originally and they quickly turned cold and said too bad you can't get out of your contract. I offered to pay a cancellation fee, but they don't offer that. After speaking with him I called the Corporate offices and spoke with a girl who was extremely rude and and told me I should've used my 7 day cancellation period if I didn't want to be with them. After trying to explain I would happily join again when the new gym closer to me opens and I think it's bad customer service to not want to help your current customers, she laughed and said why would she want to help someone who wants to cancel and told me to have a nice day and hang up. Unfortunately pretty much everyone I know in my area plans on joining the Lifetime once it opens at the Biltmore, but I will now do everything in my power to make sure that nobody I know or talk to gives a dollar to this company. read more

If your looking for a gym with many options & tons of classes this is this place. Not only is there things for the adults but your kids have things to do there as well and have fun! The gym is very clean & the staff is very friendly. The daycare also is very clean and all employees get an extensive background check. I've been to many gyms and paid a range of different dues but by far this has been worth every penny! The gym is nice, and I will continue going to it. That aside the staff is very quick to push training, tests ect on you. I completed a test and was promised personal training and a active metabolic test for free by Charles goes by Chaz. I paid 100 dollars for the test and never heard back on personal training or the active metabolic test. Go figure. They don't care about helping people they just care about getting there money which would be fine if they didn't push these unnecessary tests on you and promise free services they have no intention of delivering on. While I was there this guy had the gall to tell me he was trying to get people to complete these tests for his own personal benefits $ but that it would help them too. read more

Doesn't matter if it's Leg Day or Chest Day you can get the maximum GAINS here, every free weight, machine, cardio area, etc is stacked with more options than any other gym to get the GAINS you are looking to get! You are welcomed the moment you walk in and when you exit, towels are provided for your needs during and after your workout, and the cafe has the best tasting protein shakes for ultimate GAINS! One of the best gyms in the Valley, and country for that matter. The best part of LT is that every gym you go into around the nation is set up similiarly and it is easy to feel like home, even when you are on the road. This is an endurance athlete's heaven with free yoga, pilates, spin, & strength classes. I've been a member of several local gyms, including the pricey Camelback Village. I'd rate Lifetime as good, if not better, than the Village at a fraction of the price. The equipment is always clean and functioning, the people are nice and the pools are awesome. Yes, they do try to upsell you every chance they get for detox programs, training, etc., but aren't overly pushy. All you have to do is say no thanks. read more

Been a member since they opened - always thought it was pretty good. Recently the place has been overrun by children to the point I can hardly go anymore. Last time I was there, the entire woman's locker room was FULL of little kids (camp) and they were noisy and blocking everything. Ruined my time I set aside from my very busy schedule. Also the locker room showers and steam room seem to be not as clean as they used to be - there is almost always giant hairballs in the shower. Last month I saw that they had charged me 2x on my credit card. I called to discuss, never got the call back from the manager after 3 days and 4 attempts and finally someone told me that they could not figure out why I was being charged twice, it happens all the time and it was probably easiest if I called Amex and let them deal with it, which I did and it got resolved and I got a refund. Makes me a little nervous about auto pay. read more

Let this be prefaced with the fact that I don't like gums. In any way shape or form. This doesn't mean I don't like working out, I just don't much care for gyms. I was hoping this one would be better as it looks fancy-ish and has a nice pool with water slides but when I took a tour of it, the fancy-ish part manifested itself as a car dealership. Really. Go take a tour and I dare to to tell me it doesn't remind you of buying a car. Also, when the guy took us around on a tour, he was saying something about their ventilation and how it sucks all the bad smells out so it doesn't smell like a gym. Well, I think he may have just gotten used to the gym smell because it stunk. I will stick to my non-gym workouts. read more

Im outraged at the customer service of this gym! I went for a few months and then talked to a gym member about cancelling my membership. We went back to his office and at the end of the talk in where I explained I was moving out he assured me the cancellation was already done and that I was only going to pay for the last month. I did it in November because I knew I had to cancel one month before leaving. Anyways, they have been charging me since then and after many attempts of contact,they still ignore me and recently just told me they dont have a proper signature! I think this can be qualified as theft and and most of all disrespect to a costumer, to whom you gave a word contract and still dont do anything about after knowing the whole truth. Thoroughly dissapointed! I used to think so highly of this gym but now I can only feel regret of ever going there. read more

Love the gym itself but poor customer service this evening. I finally get my boyfriend to come and check out the gym with me and he is denied because they do not allow "guests" enter after a certain time. The gentleman would not make an exception for me which in turn ruined my workout for the night. I'm pretty sure 24 Hour Fitness allows guests at anytime, may consider other options for membership. If someone is spending their money and hardly EVER uses the guest past to reap no benefits the price does not equate to being logical any longer. Also, you lost a potential client. read more

I really love lifetime fitness. I have gone to my fair share of gyms. I wont lie, most of them ended up just randomly shutting down because they couldn't pay their bills! I am pretty cheap so I was leery about spending the money but my fiance assured me it was worth it. He was so right! I love this gym! I love the classes, they have like three spin classes a day which is nice. Everything is clean, everyone is so helpful and I never have to worry about it shutting down overnight. read more

The salon at Lifetime Fitness is awesome! I didn't even know it was there until a friend recommended it. You don't even need to be a member however they will give you a day pass to use in the Fitness center before or after your salon experience. The salon is super clean and the staff is friendly. Carie has been my stylist for my last 3 appointments. I highly recommend her. She did an amazing job with my hair (cut, color and style) read more

Nice facilities but soooooo crowded and the meat heads are territorial about the benches in the free weight area. I quit since I could not find space to work out in the weight area in mornings or after work. First gym I ever attended where a request to "work in"a set was denied. Pools are lovely and the cycle room is good too. Be prepared for lots of up selling all over the gym. A trainer actually told me that lots of members are on personal training sessions 5x a week but if all I could afford was 1x a week he guessed he could still work with me. read more

This facility is a no brainer if your close enough to one! I've done other gyms but this is the best. Always clean, always equipment available. Plenty of yoga and fitness classes of all types. They have the best tennis courts in the area with lessons, competitions, and ball machines as well as multiple pools inside and out, dry and steam saunas, fresh towel service, subscription to Experience Life magazine which happens to be the best fitness and healthy lifestyle magazine I' can remember reading. The sales pitch when you first sign up is pretty obnoxious, but I overlooked that after I started taking some classes. I've really enjoyed their barbell strength and yoga classes, and as I used to work out in the middle of the day, they weren't too busy. I give this place 3 stars for a few reasons though, mostly kid-related. I have an infant and was excited to start my noon barbell strength class again on Tuesdays and Thursdays and make that time become my regular work out time for baby's sake. However, there is no infant care from 12-4. You also have to be on the ball about reserving space because they fill up quickly. Don't waste any money on swim lessons, they are horrible. In a three month period, my daughter had four instructors, and only one was decent. There doesn't appear to be any set curriculum, just a few teenagers passing a kid through water for half an hour. I like to swim outdoors, but was bummed to find out their pool isn't heated during the winter. I get it, it's expensive. But for what I pay in membership fees, I guess I expected the pool to be heated year-round. I didn't know to ask about this when I signed up. The facility is nice though, and they usually have enough towels. It's expensive, so make sure you check out other gyms if money is an issue. I wish I had known about the limited childcare before I ponied up more money to add my daughter to my account. I got my membership here because it was close to my job, but will be looking around at other gyms soon. read more

I've been a member for over 5 years and I've noticed the last few months that this experiece has gotten disgusting. The towels smell like sweat, the clocks have stopped, nothing is cleaned, the drinking fountains have stuff stuck to them, some of the machines are in disrepair for more than 2 weeks, and I could go on. I've decided to try to find a new gym because I don't want to get sick here. Besides all that, what's up with the toilet seat covers??! They're there one week and gone the next. WTH? Amazing is an understatement. I couldn't believe my eyes when I passed this gym near my house. I decided I must go in & see what it's about. I was given a great tour of the whole gym by a really sweet guy who DID NOT talk me into anything that I didn't want, unlike some other gyms (cough* LUCILLE ROBERTS *cough) This gym is LEGIT people. This review update is long overdue. My husband and I have continued our membership at Lifetime and been regularly visiting about 3-4 times a week. He is perfectly happy just using the cardio machines but I was looking for something more when we joined and I am starting to feel like I have found it. I just wanted to take this opportunity to recognize three amazing ladies who have helped me on this journey. First off is Katie Opdyk who teaches Pilates. I had been wanted to try pilates for a while before I joined Lifetime and that was a major selling point for me on the gym. Unfortunately I found out they charge additional fees for the classes (see previous review) and so this was just another additional expense that got added up in my first few weeks of membership. I did enjoy the classes though, and working on the reformer really improved my flexibility and was a great add-on to the cardio I was doing. When I started in Katie's class she talked to me a lot about how strength training was just as important for women as men and how muscle development matters for overall health and improving metabolism. She is the one who got me first interested in lifting weights and turned me on to a whole new side of fitness that I had not even considered before. I no longer buy reformer sessions but I am so pleased that she is now teaching pilates mat classes which are free to members. At the beginning of the year I started working out with a personal trainer that Katie had referred me to. She started me off slow which was a good thing. I was feeling really, really sore after our sessions but wasn't seeing a whole lot of progress. That trainer ended up leaving Lifetime after a couple of months and so I got moved to a different trainer named Lina Bronner. She was not quite as soft and cuddly so I wasn't too sure about her at first but soon after that we developed a great rapport and I began to really look forward to our sessions twice a week. Lina pushed me to do things that I never thought I would be able to do. She has a very quiet manner which suits my personality (if I had been working out with a drill-sergeant type I would have quit long ago) but still is extremely demanding. Even though my weight loss is still going extremely slowly I feel like I have become much stronger in the last few months than I ever thought I could be. Unfortunately, Lifetime charges and arm and a leg for their personal trainers (just like everything else) so I have recently had to stop our sessions but I now feel confident being able to move forward on my own. The last of these three great ladies is Kelli Shallal. She is a nutritionist as Lifetime as has taught me so much about healthy eating habits. I have done many, many diets in my life and so have followed many different eating plans. Some helped me loose weight but even the ones that worked were only temporary. Kelli's focus is on getting you to change your lifestyle and the way you look at food so that whatever eating plan or "diet" you come up with is a permanent one, not something short term. Even though a lot of the information she gave me was stuff I already knew, it was great to have someone adapt it to me personally. And I know I can text her any time with questions or for reassurance. So, there you have it. I hope the big giant corporate money making machine that is Lifetime knows what great people it has working there. I plan to continue my membership into 2016 and so we will see what the future brings. read more
