I am such a big fan of Lifetime. Joining and getting to know the trainers has really changed my life. I've taken advantage of the flex program and do GTX CUT and Alpha strong with Coaches Andrew and Abby. I've gotten so many friends and family to join, because they see how much it has changed me physically and mentally. It's seriously my happy place and feels like a real community. This gym is not worth what it charges We frequent this gym after hours to avoid the crowds. The staff has failed to answer questions often stating, "I don't know" in response to basic questions such as "Are you open on Holidays?" "Do you have Wi-Fi"? Towels are rough, torn and stained. If you go to the gym at night, be prepared for the dump -- towels and trash litter the entire gym. Beware on the cardio machines, you have to tune into radio stations to listen. I asked staff about this and they said, you guessed it, "I don't know". Overhead, you have to hear the Lifetime sales pitch on the loud speakers while working out. Annoying. Do we have to resort to Walkmans? No televisions on the cardio equipment. The 90 day challenge is a joke. We met with a trainer and immediately found ourselves involved in a selling pitch for more workout sessions. We said we were not interested and we have never heard from the trainer since. We are canceling our membership, this gym fails to deliver quality. read more

I have been a member since 2009, and unfortunately have to cancel my membership now as the gym is to packed at this location for the times I have to go. Because they close the child care center from 12-4 which has always been my time to workout. With kids out for the summer I can't take them at this time due to the kids center now being closed at this time. Mornings and evening are just to busy at this location for me to get a good workout In. Customer service doesn't seem to be their priority anymore like it used to be. read more

Love it! Love it! Love it! I have been to most gyms in the Phoenix area (and Boston, for that matter), and Lifetime is definitely at the top. I just convinced most of my family to join. Has everything you need and then some! Update: While I still love this place, the maintenance is quite lacking. Pieces of equipment will be broken for over a month or more before they are fixed. I am pretty diligent about reporting equipment that needs to be repaired/maintained, but apparently the staff at Lifetime is not so diligent about getting things fixed. Very unfortunate, especially for a fitness center of this caliber and at the cost of the memberships. read more

Absolute worst experience with management at this location. It was incredibly difficult during COVID to reach out to someone and cancel my membership even though me and the other person on the membership have not been to this gym in months. I finally was able to cancel it only to get charged again in March and April and called back to find out they had put me on a hold. Upon trying to cancel again they said I was still liable for the next month since there's a 30 day cancellation policy regardless of me trying to cancel back in October. Lifetime has taken so much of my money and I haven't been in there in almost a year! Save your money and time and go somewhere else. This is incredibly disappointing and I will never be returning to Lifetime because of this. read more

My kids and I have been members at Lifetime for two years and we absolutely love coming here! The adult fitness classes are amazing and the amenities make me feel like I belong to a fancy country club. The kids' programs and teachers are incredible. My kids have taken swim lessons, rock wall, and dance classes with Miss Lizzie. They absolutely love her! Everyone on staff is always kind, welcoming, and very helpful. read more

The customer service here is topnotch. Never have I had an issue with any employee, in fact many have gone out of their way to assist & help, without even being asked to! The group fitness & yoga instructors (Jody, Karra, Kerri, Jason, Theresa, Marsha) are more than welcoming & extremely friendly & most importantly they are knowledge. Not to mention the amount of classes & variety offered. The overall cleanliness is satisfactory. The machines are always being wiped down & the locker rooms are pristine. The indoor/outdoor pools are fantastic, great for relaxing, kids or getting in some laps. There are enough personal trainers, all with knowledge in various aspects of lifting, exercising & working out. I have had three trainers (Charley, Lina & Nicole) who have opened my eyes to many new ways of training. For anyone with a back injury this is a huge plus! Nothing can compare to the LIfeTime in Tempe. The $55 a month is well worth it, especially for someone who takes advantage of everything there is to offer. I began paying $67 a month but the front desk (Brandon) lowered my rate, after I had been gone for a while with my account on hold, because I have been such a loyal customer - I didn't even ask for the rate to be lowered! Going to another gym is out of the question; even after I moved 25 minutes away I am still a member. read more

Recently its become really run down, dirty, crowded and over priced. We've had a family membership since 2013 and have enjoyed the experience overall. However over the past year it seems that they have really oversold subscriptions, let the equipment break and not fix it. There's also the matter of dirty lockers with wet nasty towels laying allover especially the showers, and the majority of the shower heads are broken and leaking. Sad considering how nice it was when we joined. I miss Mountainside Fitness I'd absolutely go back to them if we lived closer. I'd highly suggest talking to people that are working out about their reality if you're doing a tour. It's now gotten to a point we're going to start actively look for a better gym in 2016. read more

Our family keeps this gym so my son can play some basket ball over the weekends. Man, I was wrong. Almost every weekend, both Gilbert and Tempe locations have tons of birthday parties, pickle ball tournaments. When there is none of those, adults players dominate the courts. I have no complaints about this gym. It's clean, everyone is extremely friendly, my kids love it, and it's close to home. They have everything for everyone in your family! It's like a resort!!! The kids center staff is amazing!! My kids love going there which makes it easier for me to go as well! Love my new gym! They set the standard to live a healthy and high quality life. Yes, you pay more but it's sure worth it. Lifetime is very clean and has everything you need. I actually like using their showers as opposed to LA or any other typical gym. Love their updated equipment, wet sauna with essential oils, and hot yoga classes. I have been working out most of my adult life, experiencing many different gyms and gym personnel. As we begun to come out of COVID, I decided I wanted to look for a new gym in the East Valley. I got a few guest passes to try out a couple of gyms, and Lifetime in Tempe was the obvious winner. Not only do they have an abundance of workout machines, classes, and high end features, their customer service is by far the best I have experienced. Specifically, Laurie S. Laurie S is the Assistant General Manager at the Lifetime in Tempe and does an amazing job. Whenever I have had a question or a concern, she has answered those questions in a professional and timely manner. The overall staff at the Lifetime in Tempe is also the best I have experienced. If you are looking for a great gym, great customer service, and an overall wonderful experience, I would absolutely recommend reaching out to Laurie S. or any other individual at Lifetime Fitness in Tempe. Too expensive for what you get. The basketball gyms are nice but what is the point of having 2 gyms if you close 1 down for Kids club EVERY day the entire summer. I'm paying for the court to use it. Additionally, after being told when signing up I would get 2 guest passes a week, now I get only 2 a month and never the same person twice. That's 2 TOTAL for my whole plan of 4 people! This is a nice gym, but they need to seriously lower their cost (3x LA) or make their services better. read more

For I gym that I have devoted eight years of my life attending, to now having to encounter numerous different racial profiling situations, I will not just let it go unnoticed. In the past this facility has allowed in a countless number of new workers who have no customer service experience at all to manage an already dysfunctional front desk. There used to be an older blonde woman who would swipe your card and then hold it up in the air to create some kind of spectacle to humiliate you when nothing was wrong with your account to begin with. Their used to be a shorter brunette who was notoriously known for being so rude that people would just walk past her without swiping in their cards just to avoid confrontation. There were numerous new faces behind that front desk who you would never see again because all they did was talk amongst themselves and act like no one else existed. In addition to that, whenever you go towards one of the side offices to complain you'll just get someone who could careless and use phrases such as "I'll allow you to go in" as if you needed permission or "I'm not at liberty to discuss that" if so then what exactly do you do? So keeping in mind these horrific past experiences, I attend this gym with the mindset that I should expect nothing greater in regards to customer service, because they have for years lacked in that department. So when I went in on August 27th, I approached the front desk with my card in hand idly waiting in line. When it was my turn I handed my card over to a woman, who later claimed she was the manager (Kate) but yet no one else has ever seen her before, and she went ahead and swiped my card. She took one look at the screen and then looked me dead in my eyes and had the nerve to say that I can't work out here. Mind you that she didn't try to double check my account or even see that my name has been in that system for the past 8 years, so I took offense to her lack of cooperation. I was forced to stand there like some adolescent child that was lying when all I was doing was trying to work out. There came a point where I had to raise my voice just to get someone else to assist me because no one else had the nerve to take it upon themselves to do so. She acted in such a classless and vindictive manner that she had the nerve to look down upon me as if I can't afford a membership and that I was trying to sneak in. Finally after some time I was approached by an assistant sales manager, Bert Flemming, who tried to deescalate the situation. He approached her and had to tell, "Don't worry they work out here". He walked me over to his office and assisted me with my card. He found that my account had a medical hold on it because I temporarily paused it because I had surgery done on my right knee. I had to explain to him that that hold should have been taken off weeks ago because i have been working out for the past two months He was able to help me with no problem but he still was not someone who was capable to rectifying the situation. He spoke to me as the middle man and didn't care much for the extra details because he didn't want to have to answer to Kate. So looking at this situation from a corporate stand point I can say that they were both negligent in handling a situation that should have never occurred to begin with. Neither one of them has taken responsibility for their actions and no apologies have been issued. After an experience like that, I spoke with other members of that gym who I see regularly, and they all told me stories of their own about that front desk and how they don't cooperate well with people of color. From here I will let Lifetime's corporate office about this situation and then the NAACP from then on. read more

I love this place. So very clean, professional staff, and a ton of machines so you NEVER have to wait for anything. Locker rooms have hair dryers, towels and a wet sauna. Outside there is the pool area with chairs for napping, lanes for swimming laps, areas for smaller kids and also a slide! Spa offers massages, facials, haircuts, etc. Lifecafe has shakes to sandwichs to googles if you're like me and forget them at home. read more

So, Life Time Fitness... what more could you want in a fitness center? The facilities are all top-notch and well maintained/clean. They have plenty of lanes for swimming (over 10 if memory serves me correctly), the rock wall is cool, the exercise and weight lifting equipment are great, and there's tennis if you're into that. For the membership fee, you do get a lot for your money. If you're looking for a fitness center that has nearly everything, this is your place. Very happy! read more

This place is the worst I have got into. From customer service after you joining their membership to not for filling on the deals and gifts that were promised when you signed up. All this lifetime bucks lie is a scam to my opinion! I do not recommend using this place at all. Do not attempt to sign with them or talk to any of their customer service representatives. From May till August 2013 I was a guest in Tempe with my family and because my son was already a member of Lifetime I became also a member. Now I am back in Holland for a short while it is the biggest thing I miss here. What a great place is that to sport and to relax. 5 times a week I was there from half past seven till half past twelve and everything was always ok. Especially Rachel was with distance the best group trainer and with her it was always completely full in the workout class. It's a very nice and affordable gym considering it's size and amenities. The morning classes, when I can wake up early enough, are top notch and remind me of my Marine Bootcamp days.. (Thanks Andrea!) There are always enough cardio machines available and the trainers seem pretty approachable and don't come off as too pushy to sell you on their programs, it's their job I understand. I'm on a very tight budget working and paying for school but this gym is worth every penny I spend. When I can afford the sessions, their health/diet coaching is top notch at least with Julie and she's helped me out in so many ways. On the negative side, I would say a good handful of the members come off as snooty, it's a high-end gym so it goes without saying. The one thing that pisses me off is with travelling, since my sister lives in Vegas/Sommerlin and the only Lifetime available is the Diamond level and they won't waive my membership to use their facilities for a weekend or few day trip to see her. I think it's pretty petty that I have to pay an outrageous fee just to workout for a few days while still being a member. Hopefully Corporate reads this last paragraph and helps to make changes. My sign up experience left a lot to be desired. The employee who signed me up forgot everything I said and had me repeat everything multiple times. No big deal though, I've been a lifetime member before at the Goodyear location and don't need my hand held. I'm not here for the people but more the accommodations. I've got three kids 6,4, and 4 months. The kids club is light years ahead of LA Fitness which I can only describe as nasty and falling apart. The kids academy at lifetime offers tons of classes and activities for the kids and the infant section is really clean and well taken care of. Lifetime is more expensive than others but that is because it offers so much more and is much cleaner (in my experience) you simply get what you pay for and if you have kids this is definitely one of the top gyms in regards to programs available, cleanliness, and safety for the kiddos. read more
