I've been going here on and off since 2007 and this place has gone downhill since then. When I…read morefirst started working out here, the employees were all super friendly, now they're all miserable. There was also air conditioning in here at the time, but now there isn't. Sometimes it's hotter inside that it is outside and there is only one fan near the treadmills, and I can barely feel it even when I'm directly under it. There has been a lot of unneeded renovations in the past couple of years, and it has been really inconvenient. I don't care if the gym looks like the Taj Mahal, I just want a functioning bathroom and workout equipment and there have been times there have been neither because of construction. This summer I was hoping to get back in shape but every time I went, they have been closed for one reason or another. The latest excuse is they were replacing the workout equipment, which I do admit they desperately need, especially for the treadmills. I was looking forward to trying out the new equipment, but surprise, surprise, I went today, and it was closed again! The new reason is infuriating--they're not 24/7 anymore! This location is really out of the way for me but being able to go anytime I wanted made it worth it. I usually work out later at night, so I guess I have to find a new gym now. I also don't know what the actual hours are now because the hours on yelp and the hours on the Planet Fitness website are completely different. According to Yelp they are 24 hours Monday through Thursday, but Planet Fitness says they closed at 12 am Monday through Thursday. And according to this website, they're going to be returning to 24/7 in September when the Planet Fitness website says nothing about that. I'm really getting sick of this guessing game, and I plan on joining a new gym soon.

This gym used to be packed with people and classes use to fill up pretty fast. In 2024, BAC is pretty much empty. Plus, now there are cameras literally around EVERY corner of this place. Creepy. Anyway, it seems like everyone moved to Blink. Probably won't re-sign up if I come back home permanently, but won't join Blink either. Friendly employees at BAC, but too few members and too many cameras. Joining Blink is joining A.I. No thanks to both.

This place is a really just a 7 day daycare/night care center and not even a usable gym for adults…read moreat any time of day. There are better YMCA's elsewhere for adults to use. There are very few adult members at any time at this location when I've been there when compared to others, whether morning noon or night. It's very crowded and stuffy with poor air circulation if you don't mind sweating a bit more in the gym and dehydrate faster. I wasn't comfortable. It's mainly for little rude kids at summer camp and large sizable child swimming classes if you can take them running though all the locker rooms and gym. The staffs councilors have very poor control over the small groups and do not speak up and control the group and let them do what they want and abuse the facility. There are far better gyms to go to in the area, such as Gloucester YMCA, which facilitates both nicely, and you get a break from the kids at least because the gym is upstairs. It's set up pretty well, unlike Danvers. The front desk staff have no idea what they are doing and sit playing games on the computer, not paying attention as I've noticed a few times while children run wild in the lobby. Go elsewhere if you don't want kids getting in the way playing out of control games.

The pace is kept up by an energetic and kind instructor who encourages you and guides you as needed. I have only been in classes with Kristen but she's wonderful! She has helped me get acclimated to the class (it's a little confusing at first) and has made me feel more than welcome each time I go. The other staff members are so friendly as well. I really think this is something I could actually stick with. While it's expensive, I think it's worth every penny. Great workout!

With a membership here, you get access to several locations in the north shore and they're all technically your "home" location. I've only used the gym here but the equipment is TOP NOTCH! They just finished a renovation and everything is pretty much brand new. They also have a turf area and a punching bag you can use (though you can't use it if a class is going on). Not to mention, the building (including the locker rooms) is very clean. Outside of that, they have open pickleball, open swim and several leagues that go on throughout the year. Also, this location has a little cafe where you can hang out and get a drink if needed! You definitely get your bang for your buck here. If you're on the fence, go in for a tour just to see how amazing this place is!

She was great and told me who to ask for when I arrived for class and they would help set up a class the Saturday. I will say everyone was great administratively. BUT. The class was AMAZiNG. I took an 11 o'clock Saturday class with Andrew(not sure of the name because it was a few weeks ago). I've been boxing for a while and he was great. He helped and supported myself and nephew (his first boxing class) so well. And his energy and attention was perfect. He showed a regressing for every exercise he proposed in case you couldn't perform what he was demonstrating. I hope I got his name right because he was amazing! Check out Saturday at 11 AM class.
