DiHard is an AWESOME gym/studio for a plethora of reasons:…read more - I call it a studio because you don't HAVE to be a "member" to work out here. You can drop in to certain classes and buy blocks of passes - A few times per year, those class blocks are heavily discounted, like 20 for $100. That's right -- classes get as low as $5 per! - First class free! - Something for everyone, and at every fitness level. Bootcamp, spin, barre, drum core (yes, that's real), TRX, boxing, Zumba, core, cardio... you name it, DiHard has a class for it! - A *true* no judgement zone. We work out, we sing along with the radio, dance, laugh, cheer each other on, lay on the floor and refuse to get up, or none of the above. Or all of the above! DiHard quickly becomes a community to anyone who goes. - There's a Facebook group. It's like a free 24/7 accountability coach and motivator. - There are fun competitions, like Biggest Loser, events, like the charity spin ride, and packages available throughout the year - The owner, Diane, looks like she's 28. She's not... but the proof is in the pudding my friends! I would go here just so I can look like Diane! - Beyond her Benjamin-Button-esque qualities, Di is a super engaged, supportive, and interactive owner. She asks for feedback on the class schedule, she communicates with "members" (for lack of a better term) daily and takes a ton of pride in her business. What else do you need to know... it's on the MindBody app, cash or check only, there are mats, free weights, bands, and basically everything you need there, and don't wear your outdoor shoes inside during the winter (wear boots, carry sneakers). That's it!! See ya there ;*)

Let me begin by saying that, all things considered, exercise isn't my passion. It's not even my…read morepast-time. It's a very, very distant relative that, up until 2 months ago, I avoided as often as possible, because it was kind of confusing and exhausting. And intimidating. And because I'm sort of lazy. Would I rather be watching Netflix? Yes. Does a sedentary lifestyle usually lead to congestive heart disease and early mortality? Yes. Am I 28 and being dramatic? Also, yes. Always, yes. But all jokes aside, it didn't feel good to be out of shape - both physically as well as mentally. Being stuck indoors for 2 years during Covid didn't do me any favors. Physically, I obviously became out of shape, but mentally, I forgot what the point of being in shape was. Feeling comfortable in my own body and feeling proud of what my body is capable of physically doing on a regular basis is an underrated way of being. I started my fitness journey 2 months ago, and as much as I do love to complain during my sessions, I have loved the process. Because unlike when I attended a gym or intermittent classes, working consistently with the trainers at this gym has helped me transform my thoughts and beliefs around exercising and ways to live a healthier lifestyle. To be clear, I still drink and eat out at restaurants way too often. But apart from physical achievements, I have seen and felt a noticeable difference in my energy levels and attitude during my day-to-day. Moving around in the world and existing in a personal and professional capacity has been easier and lighter and gentler. I feel so much more comfortable in my own skin and almost energized by my desire for more. I've felt incredibly supported, motivated, and committed to this process daily by Derek, Cara, Cam, and Dana. I still don't like exercising.I would definitely still rather be watching Netflix. But the things worth having in life are rarely easy to achieve (or so I'm learning). Exercising is still uncomfortable and a little confusing and exhausting. But having amazing humans next to you, cheering you on, and explaining how the whole process works and why? That makes it easier, and that makes it better. And that makes it worth it. I'm rather confident that I couldn't do this process on my own. And I'm rather-rather confident that now, knowing these trainers, I wouldn't want to. Whatever excuses you're making that are steering you away from this process - stop. Just try it. If you don't like it, you don't have to continue. But you have to at least try. Invest in yourself. You deserve it.

Joe, the owner, is almost always around and the trainers he hires are knowledgable, supportive, and friendly. I started weight lifting at home with some dumbbells during the pandemic and was a little nervous about joining a 'real' gym but I didn't need to be - I really appreciated how welcoming everyone was and how it really feels like a community, even when you're brand new. I also worked with one of the trainers, Theresa, specifically on nutrition. She rocks as well!

After giving birth to burrito last year Phil and I rediscovered our love for food on the Northshore. We realized we were eating out almost every day and decided to capitalize on it by documenting our meals and experiences. The more restaurants we visited and reviewed, the more we wanted to share with our friends and family. This quickly became part of our routine. After doing this for several months, I realized this was supper counterproductive to losing the baby weight and overall health. I started going for 30min walks every day, and when that became super boring, I signed up for planet fitness, and when that didn't yield any results, I started taking yoga classes sporadically. I wasn't able to keep up with any of these for one reason or another, so I decided to move on to something new. As our blog grew and the length of time I spent on Instagram increased, I started to notice this gym pop up on friends' pages or in my feed sometimes in other friends' stories. White wolf seemed to be sending me subliminal messages. I spent weeks creeping and basically stalking their content before I finally decided to DM Joe, the owner. He invited me in to do a 2-week, and the rest is history. Phil and I are still working out some kinks in our routine, and the struggle to attend classes consistently is still there. But there's nothing like taking one of Joe's classes. This gym is the embodiment of Cross training. And Joe always keeps it interesting. I have yet to be bored or come out of a class feeling like I wish I never came. What does happen is your motivation is ignited. I'm continually hearing other members talk about how much stronger they are since coming here or sharing words of encouragement to stick with it and be consistent results will occur. When something in your life is changing you for the better, I feel like you have to share it!

The classes I have taken (both in person and online) are right up there with the big, well known studios like Barry's BC, Orange Theory and Equinox. Of course, every instructor and every gym have their own style, but these instructors always set you up for a killer workout, you just have to put in the work. What sets Reck above the rest is the ownership. Find a gym where the owners know every member and take the time to personally respond to any inquiry or question within a few hours. These days, with so many options out there, quality and service is imperative. I can assure you, you will find both here!

For the Bootcamp class, they put us in groups of 4 to rotate around stations. 2 in the group would do the primary exercise while the other 2 would do a secondary exercise. It was a setup I hadn't come across before and it seemed like an excellent combination of individual working out with a sense of camaraderie. It was a pretty challenging class and they had a lot of machines I'd never used before. I do wish the class was a little bit more strength focused because it was very cardio heavy. They do have an upstairs open gym where you can work out, and you can work out downstairs if they have no classes going on. However I do think it's a pretty small gym for the monthly fee of $129. But bonus points for the huge adorable dog who hangs around there! Summarizing, the instructors and variety of machines as well as the convenient location are great but it seems quite pricey for what it is.

Walking into the place is half the battle and I am so so SO glad I found this operation. I have been welcomed with open, non-judgmental, accepting arms. I am learning a lot about what my body is capable of. If you're the kind of person who can go to Planet Fitness and bang out a killer workout on your own, that's awesome. But I need someone to tell me what to do and watch me do it. Otherwise, it's just not happening. Sad, but true. I love the boxing class. It's my go-to class. I even bought boxing gloves and hand wraps. Who am I? It is totally cathartic to punch a heavy bag in these times of political insanity. I recommend it. The trainers are super knowledgeable and really pay attention to form, which I appreciate. They happily assist with modifications. The schedule as it is now fits my life well. I need a start time of 5pm or later and there are a lot of classes to choose from. I really enjoy the way OTF coaches work the floor-pay attention, and know how to motive, and push at just the right time!!! I have worked with a personal trainer in the past, and group training, I had great success using both, but it was expensive. I didn't realize how flexible the OTF schedule was till I worked the app, when I was with group training it was Monday, Wednesdays, and Friday at either 5am or 7 am. No flexibility.
