The main stations are rope, speed bags, and heavy bags. Jim has gloves for you to use until you invest in a pair if you like it. The atmosphere is supportive and the age ranges are 5-65+ Women and men boys and girls. While I've always had a heavy bag you don't need any experience, and if I'm an example you're probably better off! I decided to give this place a try when I saw the "old school" fitness on the website. Fad diets will come and go, but honest hard work is always the answer. Yes it hurts to type it out.. Still true though Upon arriving I was greeted by Jim, and it's no mistake that his professional nick name was "Gentleman Jim". He showed me around, asked me some questions, and before I knew it he was already laying down an educational foundation. Being a newbie I forgot the schedule, and I accidently showed up during the one of the youth classes. He could have kindly asked me to come back in hour. Instead he showed me an area where I could begin to work, and not interfere with the kids time. It was during this time where I was in another room listening. Yes Jim has a business to run, and I'm sure those classes help that business, but make absolutely NO MISTAKE about it! That class was 1000% PASSION DRIVEN. Listening to Jim teaching those kids was an absolute joy, and I'm glad that I was able to be a part of that. We should all be so lucky to have something in our lives that we have that much passion in. When you decide to give this gym a try I have one small favor to ask. It's simple: just observe and listen. As people come in and out of the gym you will hear Jim call them all by their name. While remarkable in itself it really drives home that when you walk into his gym he is welcoming you into his home, and sharing his passion with you. I guarantee you will be grateful you decided to do this for yourself.

I've spent the last 7 years training martial arts in some form. I started with Jiu Jitsu…read more(Japanese-style) and then moved onto muay thai, from one of the premiere MMA/Muay thai gyms in Boston, where I trained for 6 years or so until I recently moved and it's just too far away. I've also used groupons for a few other studios in Boston and on the North Shore - focusing mostly on muay thai and boxing. So I've seen a number of different approaches and formats over the years. North Shore Muay Thai Academy is great because the focus is almost entirely on Muay Thai (they just added some MMA classes). There are different types of muay thai classes every day - no competition with other martial arts like BJJ. I really like that as I have limited time and have always chosen to focus on muay thai (I just love to box) - so it's been harder at other places b/c I was much more limited in classes I could attend. With NSMTA, there are options every day, which is really nice. As far as the classes go, they are divided into technique classes, bag work (cardio and technique), and sparring with pad work. I really like the variety. I'm used to basically either a teaching class or conditioning class. So if I don't feel like sparring on that day, I just go earlier and do a good conditioning bag workout. As far as the atmosphere goes, it's cool. I've been going now for a few months (usually 2-3 times a week) and really like the ppl. It's a good group of guys, everyone is nice, no one is a jerk - which is really nice. Ppl are very respectful and looking to learn and have fun - no one is trying to break noses or anything. I've been places where I didn't really like the other ppl and it's just so much more fun when you like the guys you're working with. Kru Mark is a good teacher (explains the idea behind specific techniques as well as the general idea of the movements) and really nice guy. He's there day after day and brings good energy and an enthusiasm for the sport, which is great. And with his teaching, there's always a theme as we march through techniques, which I like a lot. I like structure to learning (as opposed to each day is a random lesson to learn), and it feels like there some of that here. Also, he teaches nearly all the classes, so it's nice to have that level of instruction all the time. If you're interested in learning muay thai, this is a great place to go.

From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt a sense of community and an energy that motivated me to keep coming back. Boxing is therapy, and anyone who has taken a class can attest to that. Title classes, especially, leave me feeling like the problems I walked in the door with have disappeared with each jab, cross, and uppercut thrown. The classes are for ALL fitness levels. Whether this is your first time stepping into a gym or you're a pro-athlete, I can guarantee you will get your time and money's worth and leave feeling sweaty, strong, and motivated! Now for the trainers! They are smart, they are dedicated, they are motivating, they are strong, and above all, they are family. They know when you are being lazy and can definitely hold that plank for an extra 10 seconds, when that one member in the back needs a little bit of motivation, and when you've given your all and need to lie face down for a minute. They connect with each of their members, getting to know both their fitness and personal goals. If you don't want to go to the gym for a workout, you want to go to the gym to see the people teaching the workouts. There have been times where I had a busy week and couldn't make it to the gym and have had several trainers reach out asking why I haven't been in. They go above and beyond to make sure their members are getting the most out of their time in the gym and are also doing well outside of the gym. They care. They care about the gym. They care about the classes. They care about their members. Your money is well-spent at Title Boxing!!!

You can drop in to certain classes and buy blocks of passes - A few times per year, those class blocks are heavily discounted, like 20 for $100. That's right -- classes get as low as $5 per! - First class free! - Something for everyone, and at every fitness level. Bootcamp, spin, barre, drum core (yes, that's real), TRX, boxing, Zumba, core, cardio... you name it, DiHard has a class for it! - A *true* no judgement zone. We work out, we sing along with the radio, dance, laugh, cheer each other on, lay on the floor and refuse to get up, or none of the above. Or all of the above! DiHard quickly becomes a community to anyone who goes. - There's a Facebook group. It's like a free 24/7 accountability coach and motivator. - There are fun competitions, like Biggest Loser, events, like the charity spin ride, and packages available throughout the year - The owner, Diane, looks like she's 28. She's not... but the proof is in the pudding my friends! I would go here just so I can look like Diane! - Beyond her Benjamin-Button-esque qualities, Di is a super engaged, supportive, and interactive owner. She asks for feedback on the class schedule, she communicates with "members" (for lack of a better term) daily and takes a ton of pride in her business. What else do you need to know... it's on the MindBody app, cash or check only, there are mats, free weights, bands, and basically everything you need there, and don't wear your outdoor shoes inside during the winter (wear boots, carry sneakers). That's it!! See ya there ;*)
