If you are more of a person who likes to plan their own workout, they have a massive variety of machines and free weights that ensures you are able to get a great workout in without having to wait a long time for a machine! They also have an amazing indoor and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is a DREAM in the summer- I could literally spend all day here. They have an outdoor and an indoor cafe that has high quality ingredients and food, truly making it so you could spend your whole day here. On top of the workout classes, expansive gym, pools that make you feel like you are no longer in Omaha- but somewhere more tropical they also have a great workspace if you are looking to make a meeting right after a workout. They have a clean, well maintained locker room that allows you to shower and get ready for your day here as well. Life Time is truly like my second home. This situation made the gym feel uncomfortable and no longer like the safe space it once was for me and my family. What has been most disappointing is how everything was handled. This is the place if you want a high-end gym experience in West Omaha. We joined about eight months ago when our daughter wanted to get involved in competitive swimming. They have a HUGE pool area with two separate indoor pools. One is very large, with slides (only open during certain hours), swimming lanes, and a shallow area with fountains for the kids to play in. The other is a large lap pool that is kept a bit cooler. I never had to wait for a lane or felt overcrowded in the indoor pool area. In the summer, they open their large outdoor pool area with even bigger slides and another pool for laps. We have only used the outdoor space during swim meets, but it does seem like an extremely popular spot in the summer. One incredible perk is the convenience of the "Kids Academy." It's a safe and fun place for your young kids (ages 3 to 11) to hang out and play while you work out. This makes life so much easier, and every time my daughter goes, she says she has a great time. They even have Infant Care for up to 2 hours a day. We are past that point ourselves, but how awesome is that? They offer all sorts of Kids classes, too. We haven't taken advantage of that yet, as we keep the kids pretty busy, but it is worth noting that it is part of your membership. My wife has been doing Pilates for several years at a small boutique club very close to Lifetime. Since we had joined Lifetime, it made sense for her to start taking her Pilates classes here. She has told me that the equipment is not nearly as well maintained, but the instructors are great, and she prefers them over the other place; she wishes the machines were better managed and maintained and noted they are clunky. Pilates classes are an up-charge and expensive. I would say it is a bit overpriced if I am being honest, considering what you already pay to be a member. The gym area is on the second floor and is absolutely massive. It always seems busy, but I never seem to have to wait long to use whatever machine I need to because there are at least two of everything, and for some things, there are 5 to 6 of them. The free weight area has so many squat racks and bench presses that you can almost always find a spot. The one area that seems to get a bit cramped is the dumbbell area; it's the only spot I've had to wait to grab a spot. There is a giant separate area for cardio. I have never attempted to count how many different machines there are here, but it must be over 60. All around the gym, several areas are set up for classes that happen several times a day; this is something else I need to try out! The variety of equipment and classes here is truly exciting for anyone on a fitness journey. Overall, I would say Lifetime is the "jack of all trades, Master of none," but in a good way. Sure, you can find dedicated studios for training, but Lifetime offers a bunch of them, all in one place, for an overall decent price if you utilize everything. A co-worker invited my daughter and I to go swimming at Life Time this past weekend and I was kind of blown away, being it was my first time. As another reviewer stated, this is definitely the Globo Gym of the Omaha area. This place is HUGE with tons of weight machines and whatnot on the second floor and two huge swimming pools, one inside and one on the outside, both with slides. They also have a Sauna and a Steam room. I really liked the Steam room as they fill the air with menthol or something and it feels really nice to breathe in. They also have disposable shavers at each sink in the Men's locker room! (That kind of blew my mind, lol.) This place was amazing and I would love to go back with my daughter and swim again. Considering the monthly cost and the distance it is from my house in Council Bluffs, I wouldn't become a member but it's really nice to visit every now and then. read more

Life Time is the Globo Gym of Omaha, and its actually a very premium experience. I have had memberships over the last 15 years, inhigh school college and briefly in my 20's. We're now in the stages of getting a family membership. Mostly for the pools, when I was younger I loved how big and spacious both floors are. Very intentional sections of cardio equipment, and weights. I like all of the areas with plenty of room to see yourself in mirrors and easily access free weights. The locker rooms themselves are so relaxing, it feels like a spa day. Speaking of, I've had one massage her and it was heavenly. I feel as though it's important to note I once worked in the cafe here, and biased when I say I really enjoy the food here. The protein shakes are by far the best, but getting some food after a work out always tastes good. Ample parking, and parking lot is lit at night. We joined because of the awesome pools. So far everyone has been really nice. Pools have been amazing and would absolutely recommend trying them on a day pass. The only two downside is the locker rooms have some broken hooks and shelves in the showers. The swimsuit water extractor is often broken in the women's locker room. The other downside is the price. It's definitely a lot of money a month so it isn't for everyone. We are loving the pools and staff so we think it's worth it. read more

Have some variety and it's usually pretty clean that's about it. Machines go a while without being properly fixed, weights will just randomly fall still being attached to the other weights when you're lifting so it changes weight and slams down mid rep. Half of the employees are great and half are the worst. Also whoever the bald guy is who "owns all the equipment" is total jerk and has no idea how to approach people and seems to can't keep his machinery running. read more

I absolutely LOVE this gym! My sister brought me as her guest one day where I was able to watch my nephew's swimming lessons, see the locker rooms, workout areas, and the pool. I love how clean and inviting this gym is and how I felt completely comfortable in every area I was in. I love how when I first signed up to the a member they give you a 1 hour coaching session with a personal trainer where they discuss your goals with you and how you can reach them using the facilities at Lifetime. My favorite part of this gym, especially during the summer, is using the outdoor lap pool pretty much at any time of the day. I usually went to the pool in the early mornings but also during the afternoons. I appreciated how clean the pool was and how well kept the pool area was. Swimming is what I missed the most living here in Nebraska so I'm happy I can get back into it here at Lifetime. Now that the outdoor pool is closed I will probably mix up my workout with classes and the free weight floor. Another great feature about this gym is their locker room saunas! I appreciate these saunas after a great workout. It helps my muscles from tightening up and stretching in the sauna is great for post workout! Some may say that the monthly fee here is pretty steep and I completely empathize with that statement. However, I have always felt that one's health is worth an investment. I've been a member for over 10 years and it has gradually declined over the years...especially the last few years. The men's showers has a strong sewer smell. The men's bathroom by the inside spa is always dirty, along with chipped tile and calcium deposits on the floor and walls. The hot tub spas are often closed. The inside spa waterfall has not worked for years. The staff is not friendly at all. If there is any management leadership guiding the staff its not relflected in the everyday operations. There's usually several staff members at the front area checking members in while they are on their phones or talking to each other. Today, the outside pool was closed and the indoor pool was packed, mostly with kids. Only 1 lifeguard on duty while 5 lifeguards sat behind closed doors in the office. For the money they charge I expect more! read more

Decent gym when I was able to go, Family locker room showers could get pretty gross. They always showed preference to brand new members over long term members. New members often had better rates than existing and are never grandfathered in, so the rate increased periodically. I had been a member since they opened (about 14 years), place my membership on hold during covid, where they charged about $11/ monthly. It automatically renewed, I received an email the week before, but they wouldn't let me keep it on hold beyond 6 months AND since it wasn't 30 days notice I had to pay full dues ($90) for the next month AND had to come to the club in person to cancel. Great atmosphere and people as well. The cons: Very expensive and the joining fees are way too high. Wasn't going to say anything negative but the manager was rude to me. Got my hair done here by Angela and im unhappy with the color, the quality, and the experience. She didn't even put a towel around my neck and left me sitting there with dye in my hair just down again my back. She even got dye on my pants! All the way down under the robe somehow! That's how messy she was. If you go to get your hair done ask for Natalie, she's great. The staff members in the front and other areas are really nice and wondeful, but my hair is ruined and im unhappy So my hair is black when I wanted brown And im out $100. I've tried many gyms in town, and there isn't a nicer faculty with better equipment. There's 2 basketball courts, a rock climbing wall, a cross-fit like area, 2 classrooms that are always open when there aren't classes going on, a bunch of workout equipment, cardio machines, and areas for stretching and HIIT. The pools are great, both indoor and outdoor along with the hot tub and sauna, along with sauna and steam rooms in the locker rooms, along with towel service. I think the price is fair considering it's probably the elite fitness center in Omaha. The staff is fantastic! Nice group of people, happy to see you, and available for help or advice. Some employees make it easier to go to the gym knowing they'll be there to say "hello." My only complaint is the activities center manager with the office by the men's locker room never smiles and lacks any sort of customer-relation skills, looking down and avoiding eye-contact with customers. The staff at the Life Spa is wonderful. I came in for a last minute haircut with Ewa and I haven't gone any place else since because she did such a great job. The Life Cafe is also legit. Perfect to have access to delicious shakes, smoothies, and semi-healthy meals after workouts. Overall a fantastic facility. read more

The facilities are beautiful. The cafe has good food with reasonable prices. There are a lot of class offerings. I think their yoga classes are wonderful. The kids care area is fun. The outdoor pool is beautiful. Basketball courts are nice and the rock wall area is really cool. All that being said group fitness classes are usually VERY full. Classes also tend to cater to stay at home parents. Being a working mother I found it difficult to find classes I was interested in during non-work hours. Also, on top of paying a fairly hefty monthly fee some classes require additional fees. Such as Pilates classes. Lifetime fitness charges the same fee as stand alone Pilates centers . On top of the high prices Pilates classes are equally as hard to get into as the schedule also seems to cater to stay at home parents. There is also a very elementary sign up system for Pilates classes (writing your name on a dated piece of paper numbered one to five with a standby list to the side). In this day and age not having an electronic system seems Stone Age??? AND even if you do sign up on the "sheet" you can be bumped by someone on the waitlist if they are more of a regular than you are. Keep in mind this class is an extra charge and the paper is numbered . When I was trying to cancel my membership it took me over 1.5 months to get into Pilates classes to finish out the package I purchased. To finally get in to finish classes I had to call the manager. The manager wouldn't even call me back. He/she forwarded my voicemail to someone else to call me back and resolve my issues. As an incentive to get a family to sign up free swim classes are offered for kids (1 month I think). My youngest was 2 so I had to go to classes with him. The class was extremely full. And only had one instructor for let's say 15ish families. It was so bad we didn't attend the last free class. In case that wasn't clear - so bad we didn't finish FREE classes. Additionally the indoor pool was regularly cool (temperature cool). My oldest lips regularly turned blue and he asked to leave repeated because he was so cold. As the pool is a big reason ppl join. This should be a priority for Lifetime. I talked to pool management and got no where. She would say things like it's shady outside which is why you think it's cold. My boys lips are blue lady!!! I even complained to corporate on the surveys they email you. No follow-up. And the pool area is very slippery. Make sure you wear good swim shoes and hold your kids hands while waking through or around the indoor pool as it is tile. Otherwise be prepared to fall. The outdoor pool is very pretty. But they allow very little toys for kids. Tossable rings, plastic watering cans or buckets are allowed. But no pool noodles, paddling boards or inflatables. Talk about lame for kids. I mean what kid wants to sit in water and play with a bucket or rings for an afternoon? So unless your kid only likes to swim laps or sit in water they might be bored. Then there are the family locker rooms. Or as I called them "a shortcut to the pool area". Bc that is what they are. Staff and random ppl consistently going in and out. Nice environment for changing a little one-insert large eye roll here . Or being an alone mother with a boy. Seems like a good way to have safety issues to me. When discussing concerns with local management I was told they couldn't control that behavior. The front desk is in front of the family locker room. AND the front desk hands out family locker room locker keys. But they cannot control who enters???? Give me a break, talk about a business doing their best to NOT continuously improve. Ugh! ‍ I imagine it's obvious that my family left Lifetime. After we quit I received another survey email. I decided to fill it out. I mean, what's the harm? This time I received an email response that seemed concerned. But let it be known they noticed I quit and were trying to get my business back. Too little too late. Guess the only way Lifetime cares about concerns is if you quit. Pretty pathetic. read more

What can I say. My family has had a membership here for a few years now & we only keep it during the summer because it's nearby. The management here is shit. Policies seem to change every month, for example the once free visitors pass is now $20 before 4 pm. The thing is they don't ever notify you of any changes. Which is just irresponsible and ridiculous. I understand that sometimes things change but you should have decent manners and send a small email notifying members of any changes. This is a poorly run place that is just trying to get most of your money. Sure the amenities are nice but you think they would be more reasonable when it comes to their customers. You can't blame the kids working because they have even said that management doesn't tell them anything. This has potential to be a decent place but they need to learn respect. This place is an organizational hot mess! Everything from the moment you walk in is geared toward selling you personal training. If you don't set one up right away the bombardment is almost impressive. (Extra amusing, I'm 8 months pregnant, definitely should not be trying new workouts, explained this to 4+ employees and they still keep pestering.) Also, the Life Cafe and outdoor cafe are SO POORLY ran. I've never seen anyone working that appears to be over 16, orders get lost almost every time I've placed one, answers on what they offer are consistent only in their inconsistency and no one seems to care! It's mind blowing how this place has functioned for this long. I know it's cliche, but I genuinely wish I could give less than a star. I've asked for assistance from a manager on all of this twice now with no contact. They seriously do not even care about customer service. read more

First I must say that I do not have a membership to the gym. I've only worked out there once as a guest. I absolutely love this gym. The cardio area, hot yoga, hot tub, steam room, sauna, group exercise areas . . . I could go on. The food is the café was wonderful. Healthy never tasted so good. If I could afford a membership, I would be a member. What ruined my review was the fact that I was working out on the treadmill with a friend. She suddenly got a horrible pain in her abdomen and had to stop working out. She couldn't stand and had to lie on the floor in pain. I stood over her and asked her what she needed and what I could do. She told me nothing and that she just wanted to lie there for a few moments to allow the pain to subside. Surprisingly, all the while this is happening, no one--not one staff person--comes over to see how she is. She was obviously not on the carpet stretching or taking a quick break. She was in pain and trying to suffer through it. After 10 minutes she recovered and was able to continue. I'm very glad there was nothing seriously wrong. read more

As a new member some of the machines are in definite need of maintenance. The staff however is very friendly and I applaud the facility for the number of pieces of equipment that it does have. Leadership should have a more robust plan in place to maintain the machines. To give one example there is a leg extension machine that definitely needs to be tightened up. It looks like part of it will come right off of the machine because of the play and movement in it . I am definitely willing to adjust my rating if maintenance is performed more timely without members having to point out issues. I've belonged to Lifetime Fitness for three years now. They have so many awesome things in this gym like the amount of classes, two pools, nice locker rooms, and life cafe. But you pay the price with all the amenities. It is very expensive and not reasonably priced. Especially for someone like a student. The student "discount" is only about $10 off a month. You also pay $80 for awful internet. I can't connect half the time and they brag about having this internet throughout the gym. My main issue with this gym is the lifetime spa. It is absolutely horrible, they have the worst customer service. I had to talk to the manager of the whole gym just to get my situation figured out. I got simple highlights there and it ended up costing $160 which is outrageous. Then when I told them it wasn't what I wanted at all and wasn't like the picture I showed them they told me in order to fix it I was going to have to pay more. They ended up fixing it after talking to the main man in charge but they were unfriendly about it and didn't even apologize. NEVER go to the salon! read more

Giant Behemoth, and unfortunately run more like Wal-Mart than Chick-fil-a. After a few workouts here while visiting during the holidays, I can't get over the lack of cleanliness, friendliness, and overall piss-poor experience I stomach here. The front desk guy is always rude to customers and busy flirting with the girl he is "working" next to. But worse, I've never seen a cleaning attendant anywhere. Not one! From the sweaty yoga mats, to splattered counter tops in the bathrooms, there are a multitude of ways to catch whatever the person next to you is hacking up. But my favorite part of the experience is trying to work out anywhere near the powerlifting area, where it seems like every wannabe Husker lines up to yank on a barbell with some craptastic form and then hurl it at the floor...over and over and over again. It is so loud, obnoxious, and dangerous that I'm surprised it is allowed to happen. But then again, if no one cares to even keep the place clean and germ suppressed, then of course no one cares about the head pounding, the rudeness, and the overall Wal-Mart-esque experience. The only bright spot? The LifeCafe is well run, with hard to find healthy food options...too bad it doesn't have its own building. read more

I almost gave this 4 stars, but I would have docked for contracts/terms/policies, etc. and to be completely fair, ignorance of such things ultimately falls on the consumer. No, I wasn't pleased in learning about the contract after the fact, but again, that was my failure to pay attention ahead of time (just know that you have to provide a month's notice before canceling your membership). Aside from contractual stuff, the gym is hands down the best I've ever been to or could even imagine. Everything is available for workouts, from free weights to machines to treadmills. There's a four lane lap pool, three water slides, and a heated water fall--a heated water fall. This is my favorite part of the gym. It costs about $70/month and for the price, there is nothing comparable. And it's 24 hours. read more

I knew better but my daughter, who was 18 at the time, was cornered by one of the trainers about signing up for some program. Next thing I knew was my credit card was charged $300. My daughter was confused when I confronted her as she had no idea she was signing up for anything. I was able to get the charge reversed the same day but it still was pretty shady. read more
