They had a good amount of rooms/machines, but it was difficult to find what I wanted and I asked for directions at the front desk twice. The building is large and not really set up for a gym as far as I could tell. Maybe this building is also some sort of school? There seemed to be lots of classrooms. When I found the weight room it was overall a good experience. There were 3 stair masters--I took the 3rd and last available. There were 2 squat racks--I took the last available. There were still plenty of open machines, but nothing compared to what I'm used to. The walking track is the biggest downside by fair in my opinion. There is about a 6" slope from one side to the other width-wise at one point which is not only inconvenient, but very dangerous in my opinion! I opted to get my steps outside, but there were plenty of treadmills available. The locker rooms looked fine although I didn't use them, I saw several options while wandering around looking for the gym. The front desk attendant was very kind in helping me find my way, I was very thankful they have someone on staff for this reason! I also wish there would have been free parking and sweat towels for use, as I am used to these things, but this may just be at my location. Overall I would definitely come back in a pinch, but will probably try a different location next time I'm in Omaha.

They work very hard to help us older adults get fit and stay healthy, AND they are respectful, friendly and responsive . The exercise equipment is almost the same as you would find in very expensive studios, so why pay more for "the same thing?" The front desk staff used to be friendlier (they looked at people as they walked in) and more helpful (they could describe each class). Now they apparently have so much work to do on computers, that looking up at every person would interrupt their work so often that they couldn't accomplish enough. The sound systems in the gym have improved, and I'm glad that the leaders there don't BLARE the music at us. They usually provide music that is "age appropriate" for older adults. I wish that the volume in the upstairs studio were NOT so loud!

You can expect to be greeted by friendly staff whenever you walk into the facility to have your membership card scanned. From there I usually stop into the locker room to store some belongings. The lockers require a small lock because of the angle of the latch. The locker room is well maintained. I attended a yoga class last week and found it to be a relaxing a challenging experience. I've done yoga on my own for the last few years, but I found Violet's class invigorating because she led us through some poses unfamiliar to me and was there to correct my form. Afterwards I felt energized but also felt like I'd had a good stretch throughout my body.

The pool randomly closes for issues all the time, instructors don't show up for classes, don't find subs, and people are not told until right before class begins. I went to a Zumba class and they were video taping without even warning people then mentioned it maybe 15 minutes into the class. I walked out. I don't want to be video taped while exercising. That is something they should post or ask people PRIOR to just doing it. I put my account on hold and was told it cancelled after 3 months if not reactivated. I never reactivated it and was charged. I would have cancelled the time I went in but was encouraged by staff to just put my account on hold. Then 3 months later am charged for my membership. DO NOT GO TO THIS YMCA!!!

Parking was completely full so we had to park down the street on the other side of the street in a baseball field parking lot, which was okay, but we decided to jump the fence instead of walking all the way around, which would have taken considerably longer. The bathrooms were nice and clean. There were enough chairs for everyone to sit. The whole thing was a good experience, other than the parking for this specific event.

The carido area is very spacious and offers a ton of machines though they can all become full fast during peak time. There seems to always be an area in front of a mirror to life and space to stretch on mats. It reminds me of the old westroads club. The kids daycare is great, the attendants are super sweet and caring for the kids. I don't love the locker room, but it does have ample lockers and rear end access to steam room sauna and pool. At the moment the splash pad is down so I don't have a reference on the pool but hope its a nice get away for us when the winter blues come around. Overall for the price it's a great deal to get the kids out and a work out in.

There are 10 YMCAs in the Omaha Metro area. This is the closest one to where we live. It's the smallest center with the most members. Might be time for new management.

I used to attend this…read moregym back in my high school days, but returning as an adult I can see just the hub of community that it has become. The variety of having a pool, a basketball court, a running track, lifting areas, cycling rooms, workout classes for members and guests, and more makes it optimal for all types of active people. The front desk staff is attentive and kind, very helpful if you need anything. The staff working the weights floor is mostly young teens, but they regularly clean and are available when needed. I have taken a few workout classes and absolutely loved it! There is a great amount of high quality equipment that is provided, and the space itself is very clean. Floor to ceiling mirrors allowed me to see my form, and to face the opposite way and still see the instructor. The instructor herself was friendly and uplifting, and kept the workout class moving while still ensuring we all understood each movement and what we were working. The staff came in and cleaned our mats afterwards, which is reassuring! The locker rooms are very clean and spacious in my opinion. There is always free space, and also three mirrors with vanity space if you need to get ready after your workout. There are also three showers, and an ADA friendly option as well. I highly recommend Common Ground if you are in need of a family friendly gym with plenty of variety and clean, updated, facilities!
