I have been a member for at least 10 years but recently transferred in the last 2 years to this Austin South lifetime. I have to say Ian is the representative who helped my husband and I get all transferred and situated. He is very professional and so helpful with all of my questions and concerns. He also was able to help with recommendations on different trainers and classes!! Ian should be recognized for his great customer service!! I also see him at the entrance and he always has a smile that is so welcoming! I also want to say Megan the Barbell strength instructor is amazing and so friendly!! She also does kickboxing class and love it!! read more

Location/facility - 5/5 - great location with huge parking lot. Immense area with pools, basketball courts, locker rooms... the best in south Austin. Machines - 3/5 - the addition of chest and back machines would make this gym much better. The chest press machines have very uncomfortable grips. The angles are odd. Free weights - 2/5 - they only have dumbbells up to 110 lbs. In addition to that, the free weights area is small. Good luck finding a bench during peak time. The good part is there are several squat racks. Staff - 5/5 - the staff is amazing! Starting with the front desk people all the way to the lifetime cafe. Overall - 3.5/5 - if they would add more machines for back, replace the chest machines, and add more space to the free weights area, this would be a 5/5. read more

I have been a member for 16 years. First weekend that it opened. It is always a staple to our life. My kids grew up in their pools, and summer camps, and even had birthday parties hosted there. read more

This gym is a beauty. It's got kids club, steam rooms, showers, a pool, and a great workout facility. The place is well kept and staff is accommodating. Be warned on pricing. It's about $169/month or 50 for a DAY PASS. I wouldn't make this my regular gym for the price. It's more than than 4x what you'd pay at golds or a local gym. I love a nice gym. But the cost is way high for what you get. read more

Okay I have tried almost all locations of lifetime in austin and I just have to say the south Austin location is one of my top favorite locations!! It's always clean, the people and staff are always kind, I have yet to have any type of bad experiences what so ever, the locker rooms are so clean and always stocked up on any needs and things I might have left at home! It's wonderful! The machines and over gym is always welcoming and again so clean! Overall my experience has been very positive, on top of that the kids center has always been so welcoming and kind to my kids! They love going and we go roughly 5x a week, they always have a blast! But the ultimate best part of this gym is the RELAXING steam room, goodness if you haven't been to a steam room it's time to try it out! Thanks lifetime for the great experience! read more

I terminated my membership here. If you have a problem, or are billed incorrectly they will, and I promise that they will ignore you. My wife was one of the first members at the club and I have never been treated so poorly from a customer service standpoint as I have been by lifetime fitness. Glad to be moving on. read more

few weeks ago someone broke into my locker and stole credit card. Thank goodness I noticed right away and reported card stolen. hour later someone try to use it at Best Buy in San Marco. when I went back to let staff know, I was made aware this is happens a lot and they're not responsible. I tot agree but why don't you let your customers know not to bring valuables? he told me to contact the GM. I did and he told me the same thing. ever since I found out a lot people gotten some much stolen. beware of this gym and keep valuables at home... poor managemen! read more

I love lifetime, but this location is wholly lacking. The "updates" - none of the flooring / tile/ wood selection / granite or lighting matches any existing styles of the gym. I'm not sure if I'm at Flooring and Decor or a gym sometimes. We also were hit with a pretty hefty price increase going into 11/23 (80 bucks more) and we are now paying what others pay for a brand new location with completed new finishes / new equipment. I bet there will be NY specials for new clients with better pricing than me come 12/31/23. read more

The lifeguards and swim instructors are really sweet to my littles and I appreciate that. They're great with them and I'm always very impressed. Nick is awesome and there are two others (I cannot recall their names) that are particularly awesome. Dear corporate - Love you but few things: 1. Fix the outdoor cafe issues so we can order food 2. Consider revising the kids menu to add more options that don't have dairy since a lot of kids have a milk or dairy allergy. 3. We pay for the pool year round and promised the pool year round. Y'all really need to do something about the pool only being open two months out of the year and two months out of the year for families. read more

This place is the best. I don't like that they aren't 24 hours anymore so I've had to adjust my schedule. Otherwise, there's so much equipment, free classes, training support and yoga. Oh, Life Time! I have a Love/Hate relationship with you. I call it a middle class country club, and the longer I go here, the more I believe it. OVERVIEW: This Life Time has tons of amenities and caters to families, so you're in luck if you want childcare and a giant pool. But if you want to go here, you're going to pay a hefty price in dues to help pitch in for childcare and other amenities like a climbing wall. For this reason, when it's crowded, it's CROWDED. On any given day, there will be the following events likely happening at once: -2 children's birthday parties -A middle school basketball game -6 different classes -Tesla activation (that one was weird and actually happened) EQUIPMENT: The equipment is nice and well-maintained for the most part. A lot of the cardio machines obviously haven't been dusted or cleaned for weeks so that can be kind of weird, full disclosure. For the price, you would think you'd get individual TVs on cardio equipment, but meh, #firstworldproblems. Otherwise, there's usually always a machine open. VIBES: Lots of families and tech bros. You can usually work out as a woman without being bothered too much, which I like. Finally, MAKE SURE to park far away! This place is door ding city. I don't know why people park so terribly here, but you've been warned. :) read more

Way better. If something is broken they're fixingnit. Everyone is always friendly, the classes although somewhat annoying at times don't seem to Ben taking over every bit of poop space 24/7. It seems as though they're always doing some sort of upgrade and the new management is amazing. read more

Life Time - GOLDS GYM .. it may be bit smaller, but it's open swimmers, triathletes, water fitness and NO SWIMTEAM membership required !! - Gyms Near Me - Austin, Texas

The amenities in the summer are great if you have kids and I've enjoyed a few of their classes, but the customer service is so bad at this location that I can't even give them 2 stars. In this day in age, I refuse to throw any money at a place that treats you like a contract instead of a a human. We placed our account on hold 6+ months and was recently charged $220. First frustration is that they require you to come into the branch to cancel, but my husband obliged. He requested the $220 be refunded, as we were not aware our hold had ended. Jared then let my husband know that emails were sent to me about the renewal and the best he could do is refund $60. My husband went with it, because he assumed that was the case. Once my husband shared this information with me, I checked my emails, and ALL emails from Life Time were marketing emails. There was not a single one regarding our membership UNTIL this day- to notify us our account was placed back on hold. Once I shared there was no email communication, my husband called to request the entire amount be refunded today. Jared was on vacation and the front desk guy argued that it's in the fine print. He then told us the emails were in fact sent and provided the dates the membership emails were sent. I'm glad he told me the dates, because it allowed me to verify that no emails were sent on those dates; only their marketing ones spammed my inbox. We called Life Time Membership and finally got everything refunded, but the branch was SO difficult to work with. They can't move beyond the script they are given. We live in a day in age where customer service is everything, and you would think a behemoth of a gym like Life Time would get with the program to keep collecting money from us. Instead they just made us never want to go back. read more

As much money as members pay at this facility it is very difficult to get the staff to accommodate "the customers" needs. I have called this facility twice to attempt to cancel my Flex Membership and either I can come in (not an option) or send a certified letter (definitely not an option). I offered to either fax or send a scanned copy of a letter to Lifetime via email and both staff members refused the options. "Whitney" one of the Membership Agent forwarded me to the Business Administrator who happened not to be in and I left him a message making the same demands. Well see what happens if and when he calls me back. Shady. I have added two stars since I spoke with Casy Conner who rectified the situation easily. Lifetime needs to allow an option for members to scan a signed termination letter to for membership. Plus empower your employees to avoid a member getting frustrated about the system. THANKS! read more

While the actual gym is great and most employees are friendly, I've had a couple issues since becoming a member in September, 2018. - I was told the outdoor pool would be open and heated "year round." Yet, the pool is almost never heated and is closed most days in the winter - While the employees at the front desk are great, the Guest Services Manager has acted in a rude and unprofessional way in attempt to address a concern I had (won't go into the full details here) While no place is perfect, what's most troublesome is that I emailed the General Manager - Brian McClure - directly to express my frustration with the way I was treated by his front desk manager and hopefully get an answer as to why I'm paying to use the outdoor pool in the winter but the club chooses not to heat it. Brian blew me off and didn't respond leaving me to believe this place doesn't care one bit about its customers. Update 12/30: After reading this review, Lifetime posted a response encouraging me to contact their Member Relations Department. They continue to blow me off and expect me to actually pick up the phone and call them after I am still waiting for an email response from the General Manager of the gym. They have my phone number and email address and would be very easy for them to get in touch to explain why this happened, but they choose not to do so. read more

What in the name of kicking my out of shape ass is going on here? Lifetime has been building this location for about a year or thereabouts, and they finally pulled the curtain back this past week. What did we learn? First of all, the place is roughly the size of an airport, and there are oceans of free-weights, nautilus equipment, stationary bikes, stair-climbing machines that are actual stairs, aerobics classes, saunas, a basketball court or two, and somewhere in the neighborhood of what seems like a small town's worth of heaving bodies in there at any one moment. Having been in one of these in DFW, I can safely say that they're all built pretty much on the same plan, but that plan, such as it is, is amazing. Two pools, one indoor and one outdoor (as I recall), childcare, cafes, a salon, seriously, it's damn near ridiculous. But if you want to inspire yourself to greater physical heights, there's pretty much no place I'd rather be that isn't 20 lbs. ago. read more

Life Time - Gyms Near Me - Austin, Texas

I really appreciate LifeTime Fitness Management educated decision to allow people to actually choose what to do with their bodies and masks. It is pretty cool to exercise at a gym that gets informed, uses common sense, and logic nowadays. Hats off to LifeTime!!! Keep doing that!! read more

There is much to fall in love with at Lifetime Fitness- and many other reviews have enumerated the wonders of its facility. I love it and would never switch back to 24 Hour Fitness (or Gold's before that). However- I have a major complaint about the gym- which is meant as a warning to future prospective costumers with children. THE TIMES POSTED FOR THE CHILDREN'S CENTER HOURS ARE NOT REALLY HONEST. Because of my work schedule, I frequently can't take the children to the gym until later in the day. But I always try to get there at least an hour before the CHILDREN'S CENTER closes- so that the kids can get in some exercise in their gym, or run around on the playscape, or do something else active. Yet- time and time again- I arrive an hour before the children's center is to close- AND THEY'VE ALREADY SHUT DOWN ALL OF THE ACTIVITY AREAS IN THE KIDS CENTER. So- instead of getting the exercise they'd like to get- my kids get the choice between sitting on their butts in front of the big TV, or sitting on their butts at a computer. I've seen this happen as early as an hour-and-a-half before official Kid's Center closing times! See this recently taken photo for reference... http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GQys13MJvgGFKnsahDLrCg?select=4NUrnSNk1mSBpY3UiAdBCA This is really annoying. I can understand if they need a little bit of time to clean the facilities- and they don't want to stay late. But honestly, it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. It's not like they wipe down the playscape or mop the basketball courts until they shine. Shutting these areas down an hour early is bogus- and in the end, my kids and I both feel irked. The only other complaint I have is with the people that work at the front desk. Sometimes, they are as friendly as can be. Other times, they act like they're annoyed to be asked to swipe a card. Is it that hard to put your friendliest people in your most trafficked spot in the facility? In this market, there are hundreds of physically fit, NICE people who would love a job. Why not dump the malcontents? I'd expect to get a grunt and a glower from some roid-raging lunkhead at Gold's Gym- it's part of the charm. But Lifetime positions itself as the family friendly alternative. I rate them 3 stars because- due to the frustrating annoyances above- they fall short of the expectations they generate with their marketing. UPDATE 05/14/11 - After having five warm-and-friendly greetings from the Front Desk staff in the last five visits, I've decided to bump my rating up to a 4 Star Review from 3. Deserving particular recognition is "Elliott"- who always seems to be smiling and genuinely warm to customers when scanning our cards. Give that kid a raise! read more

Jenn C told me that if I went here once, I'd be convinced that I needed to join. And she was right. It's all clean and pretty and shiny and smells nice! And even though there were a million people working out at the same time, there were still MANY open machines! And they give you towels, have hair dryers, soap, lockers with locks, and showers with doors! There are three pools and two hot tubs and a little thing that spins your swimsuit almost dry and then they give you a plastic bag to put your suit in! Seriously, it's amazing and well worth the extra $30 or so bucks a month over Gold's/24 Hour Fitness/etc. read more

Here visiting Austin for SXSW. I stopped in to kill some time and check out the club. It's a really cool & busy club, and I'd rate it 5 stars alone, but that's not what made me write this review. The concierge, Dominik was such an awesome guy that really made my husband and I feel at home. He's a houston native, which was cool and he referred us to an awesome breakfast spot, but his conversation was what was so comforting. I'm always coming back to this one when I'm in ATX. read more

Ahhhh Lifetime Fitness, the Taj Mahal of Gyms. Is it fair to call this place a gym? It offers so much more than your average gym, it almost seems inappropriate to put it in the same class when it offers- -a café -2 full sized basketball courts -4 racquetball courts -rock climbing wall -indoor/outdoor lap pool, indoor/outdoor kid pools complete w/ water slides -multiple saunas -numerous studios that offer free classes, from yoga to zumba -massive child care center, with a full mini basketball court, playscape, computer center, and scheduled free activities you can sign your minis up for, ie zumba and rock climbing Of course, it also has all the equipment you would expect for strength training and cardio plus weights with complimentary towels. With the above mentioned, are you really going to complain about the high membership fees? If you don't plan on taking advantage of all of the free services and facilities that accompany your membership, then stick with 24 hour fitness or Planet Fitness. I love everything that this place has to offer, and I totally dig that I can go to a kickboxing class at 5:30 in the morning to kick off my long work day. They are LITERALLY open 24/7, not like the gyms that claim the same but close at 8 on Saturday and Sunday. The staff has always been friendly and helpful to my standards, and with all of the things to do, I can literally spend an entire day here. I've had memberships to various gyms, and they really can't compare...I'm so spoiled with this gym, I don't think that I could go anywhere else. Expect to pay more here, but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for!" read more

Life Time - Gyms Near Me - Austin, Texas

Never in my entire life have I been sad to miss a workout. Extra bacon maybe, but sad about sweating? Never. Lifetime South has turned me and my cholesterol filled ways to a new path. My boyfriend and I (along with my super in shape personal trainer best friend) went for the grand opening and I have to confess, I almost cried. It was scary and really intimidating! A million people running around and what seemed like endless turns and rooms. I felt completely out of place and worried that I'd never feel comfortable in this shiny toned fitness megaplex. Fast forward a couple weeks. I FREAKING LOVE THIS PLACE! We've been going around three times a week and it's great. The first time was a little intimidating, but by the second visit I felt pretty much at home. There's plenty of equipment and it's actually not THAT hard to navigate. My gym fears have been conquered, maybe a little in part to the "Whey of Life" protein shakes in the cafe. They're a little pricey but well worth it. The promise of a milkshake (okay fake kind of healthy milkshake) sure helps with the motivation factor. The one complaint I have is the staff. Signing up was a nightmare (it was opening day so it's understandable if the reps didn't know everything .. but i'd expect them to know something), the woman who helped me get my id card was rude, the cafe staff is really put out if you order anything close to closing, and the personal trainers don't seem to care much if they don't sense you're about to sign up for some long term expensive training program. read more

Well, I just joined this place, but have 30 days to change my mind, and I have to admit that I am still on the fence. Yes, its a great cathedral of health spa, but I am actually finding myself seeing some flaws that might break the deal for me. I like to run on a treadmill and do a lot of cardio. While there are acres of treadmills, they are all the same kind and frankly, I think they are kind of mushy. Great for my shin splints, I guess, but I feel like I'm running in sand a little. I am also looking at this giant wall of windows next to me and I have to wonder what its like in the summertime. I hate to run when I'm not cool. I actually have a soft spot in my heart for the nasty little Gold's gym right around the corner. They have "a" fan over one treadmill and if I get that one, I always have a good workout. They also have three different kinds of treadmills so you can change it up and pretend you aren't bored to death. I would love to see some fans set up for the always overheated like myself. Also - the pulse sensor s on these Lifetime machines take about 15 seconds to take your pulse, so its pretty useless if you are really monitoring your heart rate. Second, the sound is like a big 80's party. Madonna, Fine Young Cannibals, etc. I thought my ears were going to bleed. I really really hated the 80's. This place is geared towards old farts like me, but I really try to distance myself from old farts like me, frankly. The 80's were not the pinnacle of my existence and I resist going back there. The TV screens show a definitely preference for Fox News, too. (vomit.) And you have to have a radio tuner to hear the tv's. I like that you could just plug your earphones into the treadmill at Gold's to hear tv. Unfortunately, there was usually only football on at gold's, but occasionally, there was something decent on. The locker rooms are so beautiful I want to cry. I DID cry when I saw the basketball courts. Two full sized basket ball courts, ok?? WIth a giant basket of balls you can use. Oddly, the balls were all women's tournament sized. Whats that about?? I wonder if you can bring your own real balls? But still, the courts are magnificient. The weight machines -- so far I have not found any discernible pattern of usage among the gazillions of them, but I'm sure there is one, maybe. Maybe its just unfamiliarity right now, but I just find myself wandering around the 15 of each machine they have, unable to find the ones I really want to use. I like the fact that Gold's has a few different types of machines, and sizes, for each body part. I like being able to change up the workout. you can't here. They have beautiful indoor and outdoor pools. But I don't swim. They don't have heavy bags, Gold's has one that is almost always available. That is important to me. I also just found out that a certain evil manager at Gold's left. So -- maybe things will improve. So -- I have two more weeks to make up my mind. Still don't know what to do. I hate decisions. read more

Do NOT join this gym. I cancelled my membership last year August 2019- due to moving, being pregnant, and my husbands cancer diagnosis. They recently started charging my credit card again almost a year later and saying I never cancelled. Now requiring me to go in and cancel even though I live 40 minutes away from any lifetime. I guess due to gyms not doing well they are pulling old credit card numbers or something. read more

This gym is a nice gym. I won't bash them on that. Is it worth the extremely high price? Maybe, maybe not. I loved the group classes and for a while, I paid quite a bit to have trainers push me. It was awesome until I had to quit due to an accident. I was just starting to be able to come back before Covid hit. Then my experience soured. I did what I was supposed to do at the time and I cancelled my account before the gym opened back up. At least I thought. I emailed like the app said to and no response. I wasn't being charged so I figured I was okay. I decided to double check one day and the app showed that I still had access even though I haven't been in, nor had I paid in months. I decided to email again to make sure and the email stated that I still had an open account. Unfortunately for me in the situation, and unfortunately for the company, they made me pay more money to close the account. It seemed like a decent compromise in comparison to how unreasonable they could have been, however there should've been no charge at all. I would've come back to this gym at a later time if they had taken care of me better. Oh well. Not every company will do what's best for you. They still squeezed more money out of me after all of this time. I will say they could've been worse about it, but getting screwed out of any amount of money isn't good. I met so many amazing trainers and sweet people there and I understand that they are separate from the greed of the company. I wish it didn't end like this. All in all, I'm glad I'm done with this company and I can move on with my life. read more

Let me start this review by saying I go to this gym because of a group of friends who have smaller children and daycare options are really good for members. While daycare is not relevant to me anymore, my friends are happy with what they get for what they pay. So that is a plus if you have small children and thinking to join the gym in the area. The gym itself is large and bright, does not look overused or run down after 10years in business. Lots of great equipment, variety of classes and always full of people - makes you feel you are not alone in this battle :) However, when it comes to every day cleanliness, they have a long way to go. Second floor bathroom is as gross as it gets - toilet bowls are never clean, sinks are dirty, no toilet paper to use and paper towels/tp on the floor. Gross! If you are 24/7 busy gym, please check those bathrooms hourly. Downstairs lady showers have very poor water pressure, and showers do need a good scrubbing. For that reason I refuse to use them. Dirty towel bins are constantly overflown, sometimes I come back after workout and I still see the towel pile bigger, and no staff to take care of it. Nobody checked changing rooms for 2 hours during busy time??? What a joke! But the two biggest issues at this gym are entitled staff and overcrowded classes. When I choose to go to yoga, I am not at the community center free monthly yoga. I am paying big bucks to be here. Thus I should not be enduring 50+ people in a small yoga room with ZERO inches between mats. What the what!!! I come here to relax, not to be stressed out about overcrowding and sweaty people touching me because "we are a community". I understand the teachers are doing the best with what they have, and I applaud them. But how hard would be to have sign up online like for spin class and have limited yoga classes and unlimited? Tried talking to management, but it's like talking to a wall. Constant excuses, blaming corporate or rolling eyes at the member. Post the message in yoga hallway that from now on only the first 30people will be allowed in the class while waiting for "corporate response". Be proactive! Same goes to fitness classes - barbell, barre etc is always like a zoo, again, how hard would be to have an online sign up??? The rooms are not well conditioned to accommodate that number of people who exercise&sweat, many members have talked about shortness of breath during the classes due to no air in the. I guess they will wait till somebody gets seriously injured before do something about overcrowding. And rude staff. Entitled, opinionated, always belittling you for any question or request. There are well educated accomplished people at your gym, and they all are too respectful to say anything back to your rudeness. But good grief show some respect to paying members, without them - you are nothing. read more

In the two weeks since my last review, a lot has improved, so I'm bumping my rating up to 4 stars: - the front desk people have been consistently warmer and friendlier - the men's locker room doesn't smell nearly as bad - canceling my membership wasn't painful Props to manager Jared Fowler for making my cancelation process smooth and low pressure. Sure, he asked me why I'm leaving and if I'd like to put my membership on hold, but he did so in a congenial fashion. After my schedule smooths out, I may return to Lifetime. read more

We called in and were told that married couples could come in with one $35 guest pass instead of having to pay for two. The front desk attendant told us we were "misinformed" and wouldn't honor what we were told since we didn't ever get the name of the guy we spoke to on the phone. Who would ever pay $70-80 for a one day guest pass??? We will never be checking this place out and it's certainly not worth looking into a membership here. read more

They have a policy in place that actively discriminates against children with disabilities and this policy was never shared until today but is being fully enforced. My child has autism and despite multiple notifications of this and requests for them to call me down if he's getting upset (because he is unable to regulate his emotions which is a big part of his diagnosis) have failed to do so. In fact they have made me feel horrible by saying that "parents were complaining about his behavior". As if having a child who is not nuerotypical isn't hard enough now you are going to have staff tell in two separate instances that parents basically don't like that he's autistic?? Deloris the so called manager who seems more concerned with staying stationary and stuffing her face instead of actually walking around managing refused to make any accommodations at all. This as well as this policy is actually a direct violation of ADA according to my attorney. Additionally, their policy is not something my child is even capable of following (again never mentioned until today - not at sign up nor during the two times I had to pick up my son early for his behavior). Deloris also was rude while I was speaking to her regarding this and took a call while I was mid sentence. She didn't even apologize despite me audibly saying that was a rude thing to do. They have no one there trained to work with any child with any disability yet promote on their website "an inclusive environment for all". I'm paying $40 a month to not even be able to have my child use the location because he is now suspended for 2 days (per the policy) for having autism. We are now having to drive 45 minutes to the North location where my son has no issues at all. Ag this point even if they did remedy this situation I still would feel completely uncomfortable having anyone in the South location anywhere near him at this point in time. read more

I love the steam room with eucalyptus. I love the spin classes that show fish-cam videos of a person riding up a mountain near Yosemite. I love the fact that you don't have to wait in line for an elliptical. I love the brand spanking new equipment. And the indoor and outdoor pool. I don't love the $70 per month price. I don't love the fact that I feel like I should be wearing makeup in order to fit in with the 80s gym bunny pickup scene. I don't love the fact that there aren't enough evening classes. I guess it's pretty great but the cost-benefit analysis shows that 24 Hour Fitness down the road on William Cannon is only $24 a month (after tax and everything) and has all the same amenities but they're a little more worn in. Everyone I know says it's worth it to pay the membership dues if you have kids because they have a kid rock wall, kid classes, and all the day-care workers are required to have fingerprinted background checks. read more

Very disappointed they wouldn't let me take my nephew today to the pool. I've been a member for a while now. The pool was practically empty. I'm already paying top price for this place. Lady at the front couldn't have cared less. I wouldn't advise someone to join this place at this time. read more

Literally the most overcrowded gym in the city. The management is rude and the clientele are even ruder. Old equipment and the cleanliness is absolutely subpar. There is no off peak time to come because it's so oversold and you cannot get a solid workout in without being bumped into or otherwise rudely disturbed. What a ripoff. I wish I could give zero stars or a more strongly negative review. read more

I love this place and find it to be such a support. As a mom with two little boys, I was really struggling to find time to work out, get haircuts, and have time to myself. The two hours of childcare EVERY day are a lifesaver for me. I love the careful way they check kids in and out so I don't worry about my one year old while I'm working out. He enjoys playing with the other kids and I get time to workout and grab a coffee or go to the salon. I have been working with a trainer, Denise, who is fun, encouraging, and motivating. She's been working with me to find workouts that are challenging and enjoyable. I'm usually there mid morning and I haven't had a problem getting a lane in the lap pool and the bathrooms are always clean at that time. The staff is always friendly and even though I'm just getting back in shape, I feel welcome And comfortable. read more

I was a member for two years & left for a while because golds was so much closer - but the siren call that is clean towels and 24/7 hours was too loud to ignore - so I'm back. It's not perfect, but it has everything I need: plenty of space - great trainers and a community of people I like working out with. The classes are always packed - but that's a given anywhere decent in Austin, and a testament to the fact that the instructors are good. The bathrooms could do with an upgrade - but I'm nitpicking really - I've seen the other gym options around, it's a jungle out there - I'm staying here..! read more

Preston in member services lacked the ability to read notes in tied to my account and I was charged 2 months without any authorization. When I called to see what was going on I was treated poorly and was denied the ability to talk with his supervisor by Preston. Preston also told me that "I don't know his number" referring to his supervisor. After a few weeks of trying to get a hold of the GM and speaking with several customer service reps I was finally refunded. Unfortunately, my conversation with Preston was a direct reflection of my terminating my membership with LTF. During or initial conversation, Preston indicated that he would cancel my membership come to find out after a few weeks of struggling to communicate with this company that didn't happen either. This explains their F rating on better business bureau. read more

What can I say? I love this gym. There are lots of classes to choose from and the system is well organized. When you sign up your classes with your app and go there, everything is set up for you. All sanitized, workout gears and towel are waiting for you. You can work with your trainer who is going to listen to you what you want, they can set up classes based on your inbody results even if you're not a signature member. The amenities are pretty awesome. Workout facilities are all new and better machines. They can be connected with your apple watch and after workout they send you the result how you did! The front desk people and instructors are all friendly and nice to work with. The swimming pools have water slides. Sauna, wet sauna and hot tubs are well taken care of and you can used it after the shower which is included in your membership. Honestly, it worth every penny and I strongly recommend this place to anyone who struggle to loose weights or interested in keeping their optimal health. read more

DON'T DO THE CONTRACT So I normally don't write bad reviews but this company burned me so bad I had to. Signed up under the contract (family $250+ per month), which was my first mistake. I was told that we could put the membership on hold at any time and for any amount of time so the contract was a no brainer....this was a flat out lie. The racket ball court guy intruded literally every time I tried to play racket ball with my kids. In the later hours at night I was told the kids couldn't be there and was turned away several times. So... we didn't go as much as planned. When my wife got pregnant and I tried to put the account on hold that is when I found out that isn't an option. In their defense, the manager at the time did work with me because it was somewhat of a medical issue. I still had to jump through all kinds of hoops, sign affidavits, etc... to put the account on hold. We never went back and this was over a year and a half ago. We have since moved but one day I noticed Life Time was still charging me. I called them saying I placed the account on hold, moved and don't want to be charged anymore. Of course, they want you to go in or mail a certified letter proving you moved, etc... which is just a waste of my time and a last effort to bill another month. I played phone tag with a manager and eventually she went on maternity leave. Dustin, the DM was supposed to call me back...never did. I even changed my debit card at my bank and they somehow were able to continue billing me! I did the math and ended up paying over $5,000 for a service we never used! Frustrated and at my wits end, ready to drive an hour up to the location...I called corporate and tried to explain the situation to Amy, a member services manager.... It was clear she could care less and was unwilling to work with me in any way, other than allowing me to cancel the membership. I asked if she was comfortable charging members over $5k for a service they didn't use and all I got was the typical contract shmontrack lingo... My bad, lesson learned... if you sign a contract good luck getting off the leash. read more
