I had to do a quick review on my neighborhood store especially in the way they have COVID precautions set up- really great! I usually pop in here if I need something last minute because the prices can sometimes be a bit more than my usual Aldi. I'm always wary of the self check in here after a few past experiences but they have definitely improved that.

They put next week's Ad at the exit. Super cool!

Yep, as soon as the hype dies down just a little bit, this will probably be my go-to store. I've been here twice now, once just to check it out and grab a few unique things and again with a shopping list. It looks like you could save quite a bit of money shopping here without compromising on quality. My first visit was a bit crowded. I don't think there was anything LIDL could have done to remedy the colossal turnout on their second day open. It was getting to the point where the fire marshall would probably have something to say about the amount of people in that place. That being said, there were a few hiccups. Plenty of associates sampling private label brand products, but unfortunately not very knowledgeable on what the product was. Both times I've visited they were sampling cheeses. The first time the employee couldn't tell me what kind of cheese it was as she was just covering for someone else for a moment. The second time, they had this delightful fig and olive cracker with a zesty brie, and the associate had to ask two people where the crackers were in the store. Other than that, the only other issue I saw was one man attempting to operate a powered pallet jack on the floor while customers were packed around him shoulder to shoulder. Didn't seem safe at all and most grocery stores have a policy that no power jacks are allowed on the floor while the store is open to customers. Probably a bit of an oversight. All the criticism aside, I was still pretty impressed with the value and quality of their fresh selections. Their Bakery items are super cheap and delicious. Produce looks top notch and the biggest difference from your typical store is that it's still in its packaging from their supplier instead of laid out in bins. I honestly believe it's a better practice because it's easier for the store to rotate product and keep it as fresh as possible. If you do a lot of cooking at home, this store could become your favorite place to shop. Everything I've bought from their perishable departments so far has been indistinguishable from any other store. Their dairy goods are top notch and I couldn't believe the variety particularly in the cheese section. I've already made a couple of home dishes with fresh products solely from LIDL and plan to do more, very impressed. Some last minute side notes: Bags are free right now for grand opening, but they regularly retail for 10 cents per paper bag. You don't have to bring a quarter for shopping carts like you do at ALDI. Expect this place to be super slammed with people for the next 4-6 weeks, just bring your patience! Fresh/Perishable departments have a wide variety, dry-goods and non-perishable have a more limited variety. 90% of products sold here are LIDL private label brand. Overall this looks Ike a great addition to Concord. Bring your reusable bags and rethink your grocery shopping!

As soon as you walk in there is fresh produce and the bakery. The croissant rolls are flaky and buttery and I love them. I have to stop myself from buying them everytime I come in. Their prices are super cheap compared to the majority of the grocery stores in the area. The folks both on the floor and running the front are quite friendly hand knowledgeable about what they carry. Everything is clean and so far, well maintained.

This is my favorite grocery store of all time. I first was introduced to Lidl in July 2017 in Germany. I thought this is like Aldi concept but better! The produce selection was larger and the meat selection. Their deals of the week are great and affordable. I even like their bad designs. The bakery is even still uniquely German for being in Concord NC. Use the My Lidl App and get rewards.

I really do love Lidl's bakery section. The butter croissants have kind of become a staple in our house since they've opened.

Really impressed with Lidl. Like most have said it's similar to Aldi in that it's a lot of store brand versions of name brand products with some "real" brands mixed in. The variety is pretty nice though. They may not have everything a Harris Teeter or Whole Foods would, but you don't always need that. They have the basics and they're fairly well priced. One other thing to note is the huge selection of baked goods right by the entrance. Are they the best pastries I've ever had? No. That being said for the under $1 price tag they are pretty damn good!

Overcrowded, long waiting lines at register, limited selection (f.e. they carry only pre-cooked rice), coupons that I received in app to use did not work, manager's solution was to return whole purchase and re-ring everything again to try using coupons while 5-6 quite nervous people were waiting behind me. I decided to screw the coupons and just leave. Not great. One thing they have good is fresh bread, no better bread around, for all other items I will go to Aldi or Food Lion, at least there is no hassle with "coupons" and almost no lines.

Really not what you think. It isn't a store to get groceries and more like a convenience store. The beer selection is good though.

I was looking for prime rib and found out they cut to order. The prime rib looked terrific. They trimmed the bones off then put them back on and tied it. I am looking forward to smoking it. (We also bought some bacon that looked good). While waiting to get service, they were EXTREMELY NICE and kept everyone informed of their status. We also noticed how clean the store was and loved their Christmas displays. It's a great store. My wife and I will be purchasing our meats from them as long as they have it in stock.

The staff knows most of them by name. Several are waiting patiently for the doors to open at 8am to get their biscuit and coffee fix. That says a tremendous amount about this business. I have bought steaks twice now. The first time I bought 1" New York Strip. The butcher told me my family would love them because they were aged 60 days and cut perfectly. He was absolutely correct, they were awesome. Yesterday I bought 1" ribeye steaks. They were the best steaks ever. Rave reviews from all of our family. More than one comment about being the best steaks they ever tasted. Steven's meat is expensive, but you get what you pay for. My family and I are now addicted to their meat. Don't hesitate to visit this beautiful little store and butcher shop. If you get the meat you will never buy steak from any other store!

They are reasonably priced and extremely delicious. The service is always prompt and friendly, and the ambience of the entire store is always squeaky clean. I love this Compare Foods location. They have so much to offer from their baked goods section, hot foods, fresh fish, wonderful selection of tropical produce. Yesterday I went and visited to get me two oxtail plates and I did come towards the closing time of the hot food bar so there was not a lot of options. I was OK with it because they had enough oxtail and I was grateful for. I got one plate of oxtails, white rice and plantains and my second plate was oxtails, Spanish rice, and plantains. They also have a fresh juice option behind the hot food bar, and all of their fresh juices are excellent. I love the mango and soursop. Those are my two favorite. I highly recommend you go and support our local compare foods and I hope your experience is just as as well as as mine!

So the good is they have the best price limes in all of Concord 10 limes for a dollar the bad is; everything else is a bit pricey, and the confusing is the huge jewelry and perfume kiosk in the middle of the store next to the produce. All in all, the store is clean and well stocked.

The Stock Market - Inside the restaurant

My most recent visit to The Stock Market was on a Thursday evening this past July. On a previous…read morevisit to the Concord/Charlotte area, we found The Smoke Pit when searching online for a good barbeque spot near our location. Since they are in the same building, we also discovered The Stock Market. We love the restaurant so much and returned on this trip to the area, so we also made a return trip to the butcher shop this time around. The Stock Market is located on Concord Parkway, just a few minutes off of 85. It is in its own building that is half restaurant and half meat market, but all the same entity. There is plenty of parking in front and on the side of the building. However, it seems to fill up with all of the patrons coming and going! You will have no issue locating the place, as it is clearly marked with signage. Just note that the hours for the store differ from the restaurant, with the store closing earlier. We stopped here just after 5:00 PM, and it was not terribly busy. There is usually a lot of action in the area due to the restaurant, but the market portion has never been overwhelmingly crowded when I have visited. There is a lot of signage to direct and instruct patrons to the correct side of the building for the market. After you enter on the right side of the building, you walk right into the store. This shop is definitely a true butcher shop. There are so many different types and cuts of meat. Fresh, frozen, shelf-stable, and more varieties await you. There are other select grocery items, but you would not be able to complete all of your typical grocery shopping at this one store. They also sell bones and specific items for dogs. We bought our dog a bone, and he loved it! As stated, there are fresh and frozen meat options available. The selection is great, and you are able to find a lot of different types and cuts not typically available in a traditional grocery store. Most of the meat seems to be prepared in-house, but there are also some name-brand items throughout (such as for sausage). There are a lot of options already on the shelves, but I would assume if you were looking for something specific that it could be cut and packaged right there. In the back, there is a fresh meat counter where you can pick your exact weight and have it packed right there. A deli counter is beside it, offering lunch meats and cheeses. It did not look like they produce their own lunch meats, but it is an option if you are in the store. There were also some hot, ready-to-eat items in this area too. There are signs hanging advertising the different bundles that you can buy. There is a Chicken Bundle, Beef Bundle, and Pork Bundle, which all contain 5 different varieties of the respective meat. The total weight is around 25 pounds per bundle. The Variety Bundle allows you to mix and match 5 different types of meat, each in 5 pound increments. This would be a nice way to try different types and cuts of meat or to stock up your freezer. The prices here are decent and comparable to any other meat store. They had a deal on select packages that you could mix and match to get 5 packages for $29.99, presumably presenting some savings. There was also a discount freezer in the rear of the store with items marked down to half off. Though, for the quality of meat and vast selection, the prices here are not too bad. Each time I have visited the store, the staff has been kind and helpful. There are cashiers up front, as well as deli and counter staff in the back ready to serve the customers coming in. We have enjoyed stopping into The Stock Market when we find ourselves eating at The Smoke Pit. It is a nice butcher shop with a good amount of variety and fresh items. The prices are fair, and all of the staff is friendly. Would recommend giving this spot a try if you are local to the area!

Attached next to their bbq joint is this butcher shop with a wide range of meat, seafood and bulk frozen foods. They have everything from gizzards, livers, feet to traditional cuts.
