This location ran out of turkeys the week before Thanksgiving but not a big deal. We ended up buying a small ham. A lot more focused than traditional US Grocery Chains. You have to remember the origin of both ALDI and Trader Joes is German retail giant Albrecht. This is reflected in the approach and product offering of both. Unlike a traditional US Chain which may have scores of different salad dressing, here you might be limited to a dozen. This focus reduces inventory items and lowers costs and Aldi is very good about passing on saving to the customers. Not to say that there is a great limitation on choices but the products they do offer are all of the best quality. Stores have wide aisles and brightly lit. Very well arranged. Took a while to get used to carrying quarters to unlock the carts but you get that back at the end. No bags so you will have to bring your own. Love the produce section but have mixed feelings on the meats although to date. have not been disappointed. One of the things I like is that twice a year that have a one week focus on German food items. One is generally in April and the other is in something like Sept or Oct. Good time to get German foods that would not otherwise be found in stores. It is this combination of fresh grocery staples with emphasis on quality and freshness along with a bit more of an International Feel that I enjoy. Even though I'd already done most of my shop at the nearby Harris Teeter, I stopped in to Aldi to check it out and see what might fill in. I was quite pleased today. The store features wide aisles and yes, they do the quarter thing to release a shopping cart. Fine with me, I have quarters in the car. Bright lights, lots of good stuff. Unique items that I did not see at Teeter but unlike other stores, Aldi usually only features one brand for each item. You're not going to be able to choose between 35 different varieties of peanut butter here. And that's okay because the quality here is good and the prices are excellent. Checkout is decent. They seemed to have enough registers open for the number of customer shopping on this Friday afternoon. And everyone bags or boxes their own groceries after it's been scanned. I'm okay with this too. I just love Aldi! They have the best deals. You can get almost anything from the local grocery store for up to 50% off at Aldi's. This Aldi is in a great location. Plenty of parking, although it can fill up during busy days/hours. Overflow parking in the nearby shopping center. I've been here several times and have never had any issues. Items are usually in stock. Store is clean, including bathrooms. The staff is always friendly and helpful! read more

Aldi is the best bang for your buck when it comes to produce. That's all I buy from here and it's good quality at a much lower price than anyone else around hands down. You will be nickel and dime for a shopping cart and bags, so come prepared and bring your own grocery bag or buy theirs for .10 (paper only). They close at 8:00, which is tricky in the summer time because it's still bright outside. Lastly, there are usually lines that are long, especially on Saturdays and after work when grocery stores are normally busy. However, with cashiers moving efficiently and people bagging their own groceries, the lines move quickly. read more

I love how affordable everything is in Aldi compared to other grocery stores. The quality is very good so you don't feel like you're being cheap. The cashiers here are really fast at getting people through the line. I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here on Tuesday evenings though because you can see how they start to run out of things before they restock for the start of their weekly sale on Wednesday's. They usually have great weekly specials for certain fruits and veggies so definitely look at the flyers before you enter. The wine selection here is also pretty good and affordable. read more

This store has improved after the renovation. I haven't noticed any issues with items being out of stock. There are far more items in the store than before. Some of my old favorites have returned along with a few new favorites. The gyros kits are back in stock after being being gone for months. They stock more sparkling water varieties than before. For the first time in my experience there are coupons for Aldi, $10 off $50. That is a huge coupon considering the prices at Aldi. The parking lot is as crowded as ever. They haven't fixed the shopping cart area so the carts take up two parking spaces. You also need to bring your own shopping bags because they haven't been leaving any cardboard boxes around for your groceries otherwise. The staff have improved, the lines still get long but somehow my wait isn't nearly as long. The place looks cleaner too. read more

I primary only get fruits and vegetables here because they are cheap while still being good quality. I have bought spices, turkey bacon, bread, and pizza before with no complaints. I visit this Aldi often since they have very reasonable price on groceries and they are only couple of miles away from my house. I like going to Aldi because I don't have to worry about any shopping cart hitting my car in the parking lot. They came up with a great quarter system where almost everyone will return the cart just to get their quarter back. It's like gas prices, some people will drive few miles to get five cents cheaper gas which don't make sense to me but people do it. My daughter loves going to Aldi just to put the quarter in the cart and take it back when we return it :) I used to buy some vegetables from here for my business since they are very reasonable prices. Back than, I new the manager so I was able to go inside the cooler to pick up what I wanted. Ya.. I received VIP service even at Aldi LOL They usually have only couple of people working and they do everything from stocking, cleaning, check out to light management. I would say it's perfect place to get well trained for people who want to start their career in retail. I do the majority of my grocery shopping at Aldi because it is SO MUCH CHEAPER than any other grocery store. You need a quarter if you want to get a cart. The idea behind it is that if you put a quarter in it, you will return it to the store and they don't have to pay for employees to collect carts in the parking lot. You will need to pay for bags or bring your own! You also have the option of using boxes from around the store to box your groceries after you check out. The idea behind this is that it keeps overhead low because the store isn't paying for the bags. The "shelving" in the store is basically just opened boxes of products. It is not stocked like your average grocery store. Many of the items in the store are a generic brand but most of them you couldn't even tell a difference. They are great! I have never bought anything from Aldi that I felt was inedible. The produce at Aldi is so cheap and always fresh. After shopping at Aldi, the produce prices at regular grocery stores are shocking to me! My only complaint is that they don't carry everything that you may want. Sometimes if you have a specific recipe or item, you'll have to stop at another store because Aldi doesn't carry everything you need. Sometimes they run out of items too. read more

Most products are brands you've never heard of, but they're almost always at least as good as the brand names, and often better and cheaper. Most of their products are available all the time, but they have specials on items that are only available for that week. These include food items, but also random products like house fans, pool toys, or a stainless grill that we got for half the price it sold for elsewhere. Grab the circular on the way out They take many measures to make the stores efficient to run with as few employees as possible, but are pretty good about making sure they have enough registers staffed as needed. A few things that you'll want to know about in advance are that you need to put a quarter in to take a shopping cart, but you get it back once you return it. I'm assuming this is to save having to pay for someone to round up carts all day, but also keeps the parking lot from being littered with them. They also don't bag for you, they put your items in a second cart, which you take to a long table where you bag them yourself. Bring your own re-usable bags, or you can buy paper ones for a few cents if you don't have any. They only take cash and debit, not credit, probably to save on transaction fees. One interesting thing you'll notice is that since the store started in Germany, they're laid out to enter and shop clockwise around the store, as opposed to pretty much all US stores. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect going to Aldi. I was prepared for everything being generic, no name items. I loved the low prices! It was amazing. I wasn't prepared for needing a quarter for a cart. But whatever, nothing was a deal breaker. The thing that irritated me was @ check out, the cashier wasn't very friendly. She was tossing all of my purchases into the cart without any care. Then as I tried to pay, she tells me they only take debit, not credit. I can't for the life of me remember my pin, I never use debit. So I have no choice but to give back everything. She takes my cart & tosses it with the returns & sits back down in their ridiculous chairs they sit in while they check you out. I had to wait on my friend behind me, empty handed and not an ounce of sympathy from any employees. I'd rather pay more @ a grocery store and not leave feeling like crap. read more

I've been to Aldi stores before, back when I used to live in IL, so I was familiar w/ the layout. If you've never been, it's like a miniature Sam's Club, but with generic-brand products and no membership fees. If you need a cart, you may pick one up at the side of the store by depositing a quarter, which you may then retrieve by returning the cart when you're done w/ it. There usually is just enough room for two small-sized people walking side-by-side pushing carts one-way, so just keep this in mind as you go through the store and its mazes. Just because most, if not all of the brands here are generic, it doesn't mean that Aldi doesn't sell quality stuff! I was pleasantly surprised to find ORGANIC turkeys sold here the day before Thanksgiving. Too bad all of them were about 12 pounds or larger, or else we'd have bought one to try, and I'd have one more thing to review here... The reason I wanted to post something about my Aldi visit was to say that chocolate lovers must, if you haven't already, try a few of the European chocolates sold here! You may find them among one of the first crates to your left as you enter the store and proceed forward. Two brands we tried were Choceur [dark choc, milk choc, and milk choc w/ almonds (those w/ a hazelnut allergy would best stay away from the almond bar-- it contains hazelnut paste)] and Moser Roth (chili dark choc). While the Choceur milk chocolate and almond bar was delicious (not too sweet!), I did feel the room spin as soon as I had a bite (I'm able to eat toasted hazelnuts w/out problems, but hazelnut spreads and chocolate-covered hazelnuts do cause allergy symptoms). I'm savoring a few pieces of the dark chocolate variety as I type this... Mmm, and it's so melt-in-your-mouth creamy-dreamy! If you're a bit daring when it comes to mixing chocolate and peppers, then you may like Moser Roth's Chili bar. I didn't find it as spicy as my baby sis did, but then again, she doesn't really like spicy dishes (she orders a "1" when at a Thai restaurant that serves dishes ranging a mild 1 to an inferno 5), but the flavors harkened to the times when I tried Mexican hot cocoa and churros made w/ Ibarra chocolate.... My older sister's MIL LOVES the brownie mixes here! I can't review it, as it contains corn products; However, the aromas that wafted throughout the house while it baked sure smelled delightful! (The beautiful cracked surface of the brownies also teased me until I finally had to turn away before I gave in. LOL) read more

Will never come here again! Just moved to the area not too long ago and was happy to hear that an Aldi's was don't the block from me. I was impressed when I entered how neat and organized everything was. I was also happy that they patiently waited for me to finish shopping as they were preparing to close. After I made my purchase, it's been hell since. Everything I bought I had to return. Literally! 95% of the food had mold in them. Yes Mold!! Cereal, fruits, pasta, brown rice, gluten free products, even the paper towels were filthy. Really now, sealed paper towels? I was disgusted. And on top of all that I didn't even realize that I got rang up for some items more than once. Good thing my husband always checks the receipt. So overall awful and traumatizing experience and will certainly not be going back. read more

You MUST give Aldi a try! Some people may be intimidated by the fact that you have to "rent" your grocery cart, or that they don't carry every brand item you're accustomed to, and you pay for bags and bag your own item, BUT do not let that stop you! The savings can be well over 50% off every other grocery store around, if not more. A gallon of milk is usually less than two dollars. A carton of eggs is usually less than a dollar. Avocados often go on sale for less than $.49 a piece. This place is truly magic for your wallet. They have a great selection of organic products and lots of fresh caught frozen seafood. You will definitely find plenty of cost savings! Now for the logistics so you'll look like a pro on your first time: Bring your own reusable shopping bags! You can definitely buy a bag there for a nickel but why not save the environment and bring your own? Have a quarter handy to deposit into the line of carts to unlock one (don't worry, you'll get it back!) it's also common courtesy for you to hand your quarter directly to another customer who has just finished unloading the groceries in their car and take their cart inside. Your first aisle will be snack foods: chips, salsa, nuts, cereal, peanut butter. The back wall is where you'll find all your eggs, yogurt, dairy products, cheese, and a few meat products. The second aisle is baking goods and bottled drinks. On the other side of the aisle you will find A number of seasonal products that rotate out. Sometimes it's cookware other times it's organizers and usually in the summer you'll find some gardening equipment. In the third I'll you'll find all of your canned fruits and vegetables along with a few seasonal or leftover stock items that they put on clearance. Then comes the best part, the produce section. The produce is seriously so cheap! A pint of blueberries, BlackBerries, or raspberries will usually run you about $.99. In the next tile is a nice freezer section with a lot of premade items followed by your paper products and trashbags. Then in the last aisle you'll have your freezer section and all of your baked goods and bread. Now when you get ready to check out you'll be amazed by the speed of the cashier. They seriously check those items through at lightning speed. Your items will come out of your cart and onto the conveyor belt. Then the cashier will deposit them into another cart that the last shopper has left. Once your items are finished checking through you'll switch carts with the cashier and take your groceries over to the counter against the wall to bag them with the bags that you brought! Aldi now accepts all forms of credit cards and payments so no more worrying about whether or not you have to have cash on hand! Don't forget to bring your card back after you unload your groceries and use the mechanism to get your quarter back! read more

I always shop at Aldi and I like this location but they need better cashiers. Lauren checked my roommate and I out. We asked her to split the transaction in half and did the math for her, but she blatantly ignored us and typed the wrong amount in. We asked her about it and she had an attitude, which is totally uncalled for, because we were perfectly polite. I have experience working a register and it's not difficult to split a transaction. My roommate and I do this at Aldi everytime we shop there. Perhaps Lauren needs better training. read more

Yesterday when the weather had improved and people were able to be out and about after the snow and bad weather, my hubby and I tried to shop at our favorite Aldi location. Although the stores posted hours said they were open until 8pm (mind you it was only 5:45pm when we approached the store's door) the tall, male store manager continued to mop the entrance floor behind their already locked door while totally ignoring us and other potential shoppers. After knocking on the door a couple of times he said it was closed and never apologized and had no sign in the window as to why only they were closing when all of there competitors were open and very welcoming. The other two a female cashier and female stock worker laughed and talked while we were turned away. I had the sweetest lady at the checkout. Her name was JAMITA and she should know how fabulous she is! I told her that she was terrific and extremely helpful but I just thought others should know as well. She knew exactly what she was doing. To say she was great at her job was an understatement! She not only was quick and efficient but she also helped myself and several other shoppers with the tricky credit card machine and made us feel like we weren't all that stupid...hahahha! She was so helpful and kind all at the same time! I asked if she had a comment card but there weren't any so after I leave this review I will be calling her manager if I can find the store phone number which hasn't been easy this far. I know we always complain with service is poor but I also feel like we should let others know when they're doing incredibly at their job! My wife and I were formerly the largest proponents of this store around. BUT, since the rebuild everything changed. The very few employees from prior days are still friendly, efficient but the new ones are NOT. My wife stands in a long line for several minutes - gets up to the counter next in line after person checking out - they finally open another line and everyone behind my wife goes to it (making another long line and young man informs my wife he is closing - WITH NO NOTICE! He refused to check her out and told her to go to the back of the other line. NOT!!! Same young man when I went the next day refused to honor an advertised price because they were out of the "Special Buy" meats - even though what I purchased was EXACTLY what was advertised for cheaper. I mentioned that this type of things was going to cost them business. He flippantly replied OK!
