Spoiled steak

Purchased two rancid steaks today from Lidl! When I opened the packages at home to prepare it, the odor was disgustingly potent, they smelled like rotting meat. I brought the steaks back to Lidl, hoping to replace it and alert them that they should check the other meats in that section. Unfortunately, I was met with a nasty rude attitude from the manager. She was totally dismissive and said that it was "not their fault."

I have been wanting to go here for the longest time. I finally swung over there on Mothers Day to pick up some items. Reminds me of an Aldi's when you enter, was very neat and clean inside, prices were decent as well, will defiantly visit again.

I like Lidl. This store is roomy (except on opening day). There are lots of excellent items that would cost twice as much at a fancy grocery store. I would still get most of my produce from Aldi. The household cleaners and personal care items were cheap. I'm not impressed with the lipstick portable phone chargers (but I purchased mine in Culpeper). Pet food was reasonable. If you aren't brand specific, you could probably afford to feed a large dog here! The treats for cats and dogs were competitively priced. There were lots of ice cream, popsickle and dessert items. They beat Aldi on many sweet items (not gummy bears). Beef flank steak and chicken was super cheap. There were lots of other meat choices. The bagger didn't separate chilled items so I rebagged everything at the car. Ice cream was put with dry items. There were unique sauces and sprays (garlic, balsamic vinaigrette). You can get member only deals by downloading the Lidl app. Hopefully, the crowds will decrease after the excitement of opening weekend and the aisles will feel less crowded. Each register lane had 10 or more people and the front area was crowded. The parking lot was totally full. I wouldn't pay for their reusable grocery bags. Bonus points for the free grocery bags on their first day.

Love the bakery! Great prices. Quality and healthy selections. Lots of seafood and meat selection. Even the frozen sushi (California Rolls) was fresh and tasty.

Not sure what's with all the bad reviews. I went on a weekend around 4pm. No bad lines and bakery smelled like bakery to me lol...smelled great. Nice, clean and airy building. Lots of staff and no quarter necessary for a cart. You will need to BYOB (bring your own bag). I like that there's more selection but can seem overwhelming. It's like Aldi, Wal-Mart and Harbor Freight joined forces. If you're like me and get distracted easily, Aldi might be more for you. So much to survey but bargain buys are: baked goods, around 50 cents spices, 69 cents shampoo, knock off garnier fructis 63 cents wet dog food, small like caesars, 35 cents Other highlights is lots of food and treats for dogs and organics are in one section which is convenient.

Ask the Community - Lidl

Are they opening any Lidl in Baltimore, Maryland?

Hi Mary! We haven't announced any plans as far as the Baltimore area goes, but we'll be sure to let our team know that you've asked. Please keep an eye on our website and our social media channels for all of our future store opening announcements!

Does this location (or any in MD) sell beer&wine? I was impressed with craft beers & imported wines at a NC location. Hoping for same here.…

No. Not legal in PG County. Unfortunately. This Lidl is just a grocery store.

The only major shock that I had was buying hot food and bringing it at home. The sticker shock on my food had me frozen and stalled for a moment then I got passed it. They have everything in the store just a variety is varieties of produce and cheese and meat which I don't eat. The breads are beautiful; I've spent more time standing in the aisle than I should have just looking over stuff. Do not go to the grocery store hungry that's a general statement for all grocery stores, but particularly Wegmans. I was walking down the aisles planning in my head how big a sandwich I can make or should I go to the deli bar and have them make the sandwich. There's so many products to choose from such as bread, condiments, cheese produce, and a vegetable even my faux meats. Wegmans has their own brand of plant base meats. I can take all of the ingredients home and build it as big as I want and as sloppy as I want. It was just too much to consider but I'm glad I encountered Wegmans. I'm gonna miss it when I go back to the West Coast. My suitcase will be full of Wegmans food instead of souvenirs from the various sites of the area.‍‍

The one I selected was in my opinion, a pretty good looking melon. It had the right coloring on the bottom and felt really heavy. However, after returning home, I proceeded to cut into it and I thought it was about to erupt! It started oozing a very strong and foul odor. I have never experienced this before. Given the condition of the melon I immediately bagged it and trashed it. So, the next day I returned to the store to speak with someone at customer service. I spoke with Sharon who was working the customer service department at the time. I told her about my experience and presented her with my receipt. She expressed her disappointment with my situation and asked if I would like to get one in its place. I told her thanks but no thanks. So she provided me with a store credit. She did ask if I had the melon with me to return but I told her there was no way I could bag it and keep it on hand to bring back. It was just too messy and smelly! I just wanted to thank her for assisting me and providing me with a store credit.

I recognize that we do not go to the grocery store for the purposes of using the restroom, however,…read moresince we're humans .. it's inevitable that while shopping sometimes folks will have to use the bathroom. Especially when you have children with you. The condition of this store's bathroom is absolutely deplorable. I was disgusted, it is clear that no one has attended to this bathroom in weeks. I cannot imagine that a chain such as wise does not have the resources to hire a cleaning company to do the bathroom at least once to eat. In fact, I know they have the resources to do so given the prices of the groceries. it was disgusting tissue all over the floor, the floors were cruddy with dirt and grime, there was barely any soap, the paper towel dispenser was broken, the toilet paper holders were falling off of the walls, and the toilet themselves were broken and disgusting.

Shockingly terrible. The only sections in good condition were the flowers and the liquor. I found…read moreboth the floral and wine sections to be fully stocked and well kept. There were a lot of spoiled items on the shelves. I went there on the evening of December 30th and saw multiple varieties of milk dated December 27 and earlier. There was moldy fruit and vegetables in the produce section. When I checked out the cashier was on her cellphone and there was trash around the registers. Prince George's County pays the highest property taxes in the state of Maryland. This grocery store is in an affluent area, but it's terrible. I was very surprised by the condition of the store and the food selection.
