Great ice cream, good service,a little pricy. Wasn't busy at all. Saw the Lickity Express pull in so that was neat.

Stopped there again today. On last stop we were challenged by Tom to try their Steak and cheese Grinder. And compare it to the place we would go to for them. ( and it's our #1place, nobody has even come close ) Well, we found a place that equals it. It was great. Filled with Steak,cheese, peppers & Onions. And the Cook was Excellent, fun and friendly ( and loves to sing to the tunes on the Radio ) The girls there are Great. And have a great attitude. They greet you as you walk thru the door which is nice. You don't get that in most places anymore. We will take the 45 min. Drive to go to that place. Cause it's worth it. Keep up the good work. When I get on my motorcycle I end up at ice cream places, and I ride A LOT. So I've been to most of them :) Lickity Splitz remains in my top 5, more like top 2. Their ice cream is delicious, trust me, find a reason to stop by and try any flavor. They recently sold and under new ownership. They are now open for breakfast food also. I haven't tried the new menu, but their hotdogs and hamburgers for lunch are great also. You can't go wrong. The staff is friendly, but expect a long line during popular hours. Had a sundae, and was fine. Seemed that they had real whip cream (I saw them put it on). The dog sundae was vanilla soft serve with a milk one dog biscuit, with an option for peanut butter (my dog licked that clean). Ate here last night. Got scallop plate and a haddock plate. Got twice as many scallops as other locals at half the price and they were delicious. Was a full fillet of haddock and that was excellent too. Fries were crispy & tasty. Also a side of onion rings that I would definitely order again. read more

Gross fake whipped cream. Why ruin a nice sundae with Cool Whip type topping??!! I would rather pay an extra 5 cents for real whipped cream. It's like the difference between margarine and butter; Mrs Butterworth and New England real maple syrup; salad dressing and mayonnaise; Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and homemade mac & cheese made with leftover cheddars, swiss, and Monterey jack with a buttery crumbled Ritz crackers on top..... you get the idea. The portions are nice and the ice cream is tasty. So, if you like a Cool Whip type topping, then this place is for you. the food is good, but the service is terrible. The clerks continuously getting orders incorrect, and then the manager snapping at customers when they ask for something that was missed in the order. It took 25 mins for two burgers and the place was not busy. I watched a woman get berrated by the manager tonight and was disgusted. They have decent Ice Cream here - it's not the best in town, by a long shot... But it has the great fortune to be directly down the street for the local swimming hole and there for gets more traffic while the weather is hot. They serve over 30 flavors and have soft serve (for the people who prefer) - I have never actually eaten food from here, but always noticed people walking away with hot dogs and fish and chips, wonder if it's any good?! read more

I love this little place! OK, so it's hot when you sit inside (no AC), but it's very clean, including the bathrooms. The staff are all young high school and college age ladies, and the customer service is great. Finally, the Ice Cream is fantastic and the food is also good. The ice cream is buttery smooth, not whipped full of air and with 30 flavors including 10 catering to diabetic needs. The sizes are enormous, the smallest is the Little League this between small and medium. The Small is large at most other places, and I've never attempted a Large. (Ouch) The food is great because even though the fare is normal Burgers, dogs, and nuggets... There is nothing normal about any of them. Burgers are never frozen, hand formed daily, and topped with local fresh tomato and lettuce. The dogs are footlongs and grilled to perfection. Take a scenic ride and enjoy a great experience. read more

I went here, under the new owners. And I got a very good flavor of ice cream called chocolate almond pecan nut ice cream. And I there were so many nuts in this ice cream and they were huge it was amazing! That's the kind I like. Nice and crunchy. The only thing is...they discontinued it. Also, I have to stay at home with my little one, while my amazing husband and beautiful, older daughter go out to pick up our ice cream. I haven't a clue what to get, now that my favorite isn't there, anymore. *SUGGESTION* maybe adding a list of your flavor so to Facebook or on a website, would be awesome, so I don't have to call you and figure out all your flavors. Just makes it easier. Also....you guys really need to invest in a fly fogging machine.. It s extremely buggy out there, we end up taking the ice cream home. read more

I might suggest they change what they are using to make brownie sundays. The brownie was horrible. And the icecream tasted like frozen yogurt, not regular. Not what I ordered. If you are in the area, Lickety Splitz is worth a visit. They have delicious homemade ice cream. It's very, very good. The servings are enormous (go for the kiddie size) and the prices are quite inexpensive. I have not ordered any of their fried food (french fries, onion rigs, etc.), but the smell wafting into the parking area is mouth-watering. The kids who work there are sweet. We recently stopped here and ordered a couple hot dogs and fries. I've lived in Winchendon for about 16 years, I've had ice cream here several times, during that time, out the window, and it was ok. This was the first time I've been inside. Inside, it's pretty rundown, there is some new paint, but definitely rundown. We ordered 4 dogs and the hand cut french fries ($4.35? maybe more). The dogs were true foot longs, and decent quality. The dogs and rolls were both under cooked and not too appetizing looking. The fries were probably the worst fries I've eaten in 64 years!!! That 4 bucks plus got us 1/2 a potato's worth of fries, a tiny order. Dark brown, almost black, greasy, lifeless looking things...horrible! Clearly, the oil has not been changed in a really long time, they looked like they were cooked in motor oil. Maybe the high price for the 1/2 potato of fries was because they are saving up for some new oil. The food is a very poor value. We would never go back in this place. They should board up the door, and put more ice cream windows in. If you want ice cream, it might be ok. If you want food, drive by and drive fast!!!! read more

Came here for lunch and was very pleased. Not only was the food amazing the service was wonderful. The servers were very friendly and you could tell they genuinely love what they do. The portions were huge so we didn't have room for ice cream. I will def be back before the end of the season for an ice cream date or two. Can't wait to try the handmade turtle frappe. read more

The new owner needs to smarten up! We were there this weekend, both got Maple Walnut ice cream cones. Between the two cones, there was NOT A SINGLE WALNUT!! The old owner, Steve Hunt, made his maple walnut ice cream with a ton of walnuts. Cut you corners somewhere else! You are ruining a great little drive in eatery. We were there Sunday 7/5/2015, we got peanut butter cup ice cream (it was loaded with full size peanut butter cups), orange sherbet (very good), and cotton candy (very good). Watch the menu for sizes, we ordered smalls, they were big about a pint on each cone. There are smaller sizes called little league and t ball (2 "normal" scoops). We will go for little league next time. The service was fast. Got to speak to the new owner, Mike, a very nice guy. Mike is still learning the business from the previous owner, Steve, and will have it to the great level of quality that Steve always had. We did not give it 5 stars because we have not tried the food yet, we will be back for food in the future. We will be back! read more
