I worked here a few years back. Horrible place to work!! It is seasonal, so understandably each year brings new employees and hopefully new procedures. When I was here-- I was instructed to climb through the back window because the manager forgot to leave a key, and no one would come open the door. My car keys mysteriously "went missing" during my shift. The manager asked me to go out and buy bananas, so I hopped in my car and left. When I walked back into work I saw her holding my phone scrolling through my texts!! I put in my two weeks shortly after. Schedules were made the night before with little to no notice. Not to deter customers from patronizing, but hopefully this warns potential employees to how their work day will go if they decide to apply. read more

Lickety Split is a cute little ice cream place right along Route 66. After driving past it many times this summer, I finally stopped in. They have a ton of flavors available and every other type of ice cream concoction you can imagine. I ordered a mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone. My mom ordered a large vanilla cone dipped in chocolate. The ice cream was good and I had no complains about the ice cream or cone. My mom seemed to be the one with issues. The girl who dipped the cone apparently didn't do it correctly because by the time my mom got outside, half the cone was running down her hand (and it wasn't a particularly hot day either). She also said that the cone wasn't able to hold the weight of the ice cream either. Every time she went for a lick, the cone started to crumble. So it made for a big mess. It's a nice place to stop along the way, especially on Route. The ice cream is good but I have had better. But still it's worth a try. I will come again when I'm back in the area. read more

I've driven past this little ice cream shop often and never gave it a second look as I'm not much of an ice cream person. Last night I went with someone that goes often and have to say I was impressed. It's a very small shoppe but they had a good sized selection plus various cones AND a small selection of candies. I got a scoop of Salty Jim which is salted caramel and it was really good. Again, I am NOT an ice cream person but I was impressed. The staff was really friendly and was able to answer my questions. There is no place to sit inside but plenty of room outside and they played music outside so it was really a nice place to get a treat. It was also busy so it must be a local favorite. read more

A fun little ice cream shop. It seems on hot days this place is always busy so you may have to wait in line. You will want to sit outside to eat. They offer a wide selection of frozen treats. They have hand dipped ice cream in typical as well as unusual flavors. Try the Key Lime...my new favorite flavor behind Cow Tipping. Kids seem to love Superman. If you are unsure if you will like a flavor they will give you a small sample before you buy. Soft serve ice cream, malts, shakes, sundaes and Hawaiian ice are also available. Eaten here 4 times. I wanted to give them a fair shot before posting a review. I'm not sure what people like about this place. You can get better soft serve ice cream from McDonald's, and way cheaper too. What they consider a large is a small compared to anywhere else. And they don't mind overcharging you for it. The Cherry dipped soft serve I ordered was about 95% wax, which gave me nausea, and 5% cherry water. The two substances were not staying together and it tasted incredibly disgusting. The "cheesecake" topping they mixed in with my soft serve was nothing of the kind. They opened up a small pound cake box in front of me, from the store, and mixed in some of that. Not sure how that is supposed to equate to a cheesecake taste but it tasted horrible with the soft serve. They don't wear gloves here and the girls handle cash, smoke cigarettes, and handle your ice cream without washing their hands. Gross. Stay away from this place. Save your ice cream money for a small container of something from the store. read more

Cute ice cream shop. Make sure you go on a nice day - nearly no place to eat it indoors. That being said, the ice cream is great, the service is good. My whole family loves going there!!! If you want to skip a couple meals for the day you have got to try the lickety Split...Its huge and costs around $7 after taxes. But like I say. go hungry or you will never be able to finish it or share it with someone, . if you just want a treat like a cone or a sundae they always have different flavors. We drive about 20 miles to go there for icecream. theres no place like it around us that I know of. read more

Just found out that the place occasionally loses power and the owner simply refreezes the icecream. Further, when the chocolate strawberries go bad, the owner has the workers pull the chocolate off and add the strawberries to the strawberry topping. How disgusting!! No way going back there! read more

Every time I've gotten a cone here they just put a tiny scoop on top of a hollow cone. They charge more for this than any other ice cream place that I've been too, and all the other places give you twice as much ice cream. (They actually fill the cone) read more

I really love this place. It's cute and spacious. The staff is incredibly nice. I have found the manager working the counter every time I've gone which is a plus. The frozen custard is so delicious and reasonably priced. Its so nice to have such a place in Edgewater. Every time my family or friends come for a visit I take them to Lickety Split and they rave. Very cute, well kept and most importantly clean ice cream shop in Wilmington. This interior is small and is used solely for ordering. They have both soft serve ice cream and hand dipped. They also offer a wide variety of waffle cones and bowls all dipped and sprinkled with an array of goodies. The outside has plenty of areas for sitting and relaxing while enjoying your ice cream. My husband ordered a cone and I ordered a sundae. I spotted clear case full of cheese popcorn and ordered a small bag. (I am a cheese popcorn fanatic and total snob). We ate our ice cream on the ride home and we both enjoyed our selections. Later that night we dug into the bag of cheese popcorn and I was shocked at how good it was. I remember the girl behind the counter mentioning that they made it fresh everyday. It is hands down one of the best I've had. We went here for the first time last night and had the BEST experience! They let us sample whatever ice cream we wanted and had great customer service. They did accidentally give us a small instead of a large but quickly fixed the mistake. The man who seemed to be the boss would not take no for an answer when we said it was okay, he wanted to make the customer happy! Oh, and the ice cream...DELICIOUS! Really convenient location, and good selection too... They have VERY good prices, so if you're driving through Wilmington, I recommend stopping for an ice cream treat or popcorn for very inexpensive prices. read more

Average. The staff is extremely friendly and enthusiastic service. Of course, the delicious ice cream and fancy cones are great. My one complaint is how slow the service is sometimes due to lack of employees. Nobody likes a long line that doesn't move. read more
