Stone fired Classico with pepperoni and mushrooms.
    Christopher C.

Charming local market with fresh fare and premade takeaway options and lots of local offerings. The delicious smell of the food hangs in the street outside. The service staff was prompt and friendly both in person and on the phone. Grabbed dinner for the family. We split an original pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The sauce was rich and bright, the dough was soft thin and crisp on the edges. The pepperoni and mushrooms were finely singed on the edge from the stone fired ovens. Absolutely phenomenal. We tried the lemon chicken sub sandwich, it was quite large and the dressing was vibrant and sharp against the lemon breaded chicken. The mozzarella was so fresh. Highly recommend. It was a cold day so I ordered a cup of "Italian penicillin" which is their homebrewed chicken bone broth soup. So hearty and flavorful and it really warmed me up. I will definitely be returning to try more sandwiches and calzones.

Tray of sugo pasta and chicken piccata

I can see why this place is so popular; it has solid offerings that's great for people on the go. Garden salad- Grape tomatoes, sliced cucumber, mozzarella, and thinly sliced red onions sit atop a bed of romaine and spring mix. They're in strips so you can choose how much of each ingredient you want on your plate. I liked how thin the onions were, so you can control the aromaticness of each bite and not have it be so overwhelmingly spicy. The croutons are home made, and some of them are more browned than others, but all were very crunchy and had herb seasoning on them. The homemade Italian dressing wasn't too pungent and had a lightness that complemented the ingredients. Sugo pasta- The rigatoni had a texture slightly past al dente which was wonderful. The pasta sauce showcased the quality of the ingredients-crushed tomato with garlic and basil. It was perfectly seasoned and wasn't lacking for anything despite the simple ingredients that went into it. Interestingly enough, when I had this for leftovers the next day, the pasta sauce had sweetened up more for some reason, maybe the acid in the sauce was absorbed by the pasta? It was still delicious. Chicken piccata- This is different from what I was expecting. This dish had tender moist boneless, skinless chicken breasts with artichoke hearts in a large amount of brown-grey gravy. I seriously would not have thought it was piccata other than the fact that it was labelled on the tray. There was no lemon or capers to be detected anywhere, and the ratio of solid to liquid was off..if someone had chopped up the food into bite-sized pieces it would easily pass as soup. Cheesy sticks- Essentially a round of their pizza dough that's topped with mozzarella and parmesan. The crust is thin and crispy, and the cheese is nicely melted. The ingredients complement each other; some places use the bread to pile on as much cheese as possible, but this place has a great balance of each component. I'm still not sure what was going on with their piccata, but it was delicious even if it wasn't what I was expecting. Maybe it's a family recipe? I would characterize the food as delivering on flavor without weighing down on your stomach-you can taste the quality in each bite.

I'm saddened to update this review after the pizza I just ordered. The crab pizza I ordered tastes like someone POURED salt on it. It's terribly disappointing and unhealthy to add that much salt to food. I will go with other options moving forward. i returned the pizza and was given a refund.

Ordered some dinner from here through DoorDash, next time I might just order it directly, DoorDash didn't really let me know how long it would be. I checked in at the counter and they let me know they were working on my order. The chicken parm sub was excellent, good amount of sub but not too much to make it soggy. The chicken was crispy and a good portion. One of my favorite things to get here is the roasted beet salad. I don't think I can ever have too many of the candied walnuts which are just the right amount of sweet but not too candied. The lemon vinaigrette just ties everything together. I love you can shop for other things while you're there. Also believe there is a little spot where you can dine it which I need to do in the future.

We stopped by here to grab two round pizzas. One Classico "pepperoni" and a MargheRita, that way it covers the meat lovers and vegetarian friendly folks. We brought some other sides from Holiday Mkt K.N. the way to the east side to pick up some pizza. The pizza is thin crust and longer slices, but not NY style. The MargheRita and the Classico were both decent and enjoyed by the guests.

Fantastic margherita pizza. Get extra basil - you won't be sorry!

This was our first time to this Italian market and deli, as we're not eastsiders. We had planned to spend the day in the Grosse Pointe area and had read great reviews about Licavoli's pizza. We stopped in and ordered the Marghe "Rita" pizza and asked for extra basil. Well, we were not disappointed! In fact, the pizza (which was up in about 15 minutes) far exceeded our expectations. It's a NY/East Coast-style thin crust (a definite homage to Neapolitan pizza), done in a stone-fired oven. And it's done perfectly, with a wonderfully tangy sauce and plenty of mozzarella. But the crust may be the real star here - the consistency and flavor are superb. I was in heaven while partaking of my first slice and may have reached nirvana on the second slice. The sauce, the thin tomato slices, and extra basil worked in concert to create a beautiful symphony. We really enjoyed our visit; the staff was friendly and we ate at one of the tables. I do wish there was a little more in terms of Italian grocery items on shelves and it would be nice if they had a deli counter with meats. They do have prepared deli items that look good. We will be back. I highly recommend Licavoli's pizza!

We ordered two Pasta Frescas, one Pasta del Estate with shrimp, and one Chicken Cacciatore. The portion size of the two Pasta Frescas was embarrassingly small (see photos - I apologize for the messy desk). When I opened the containers and saw the portion size, I called the restaurant to inquire. The young lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude, defensive, and disrespectful. She told me that they now have larger to-go containers, so it just appears that the portion sizes are smaller. In addition, she also stated that the portion sizes are pre-measured. I told her that I have been ordering the Pasta Fresca since the restaurant opened, and this is the smallest portion size I have ever received, regardless of the size of the to-go container. I was very nice to her, despite her rudeness. After about two minutes into the call she said to me, "...we're very busy, and I don't have all day to spend on the phone with you." I then asked if I could speak with a manager, and she said, "...that's not necessary..." I then requested to speak with Armando, then she put me on hold, came back on the phone, and said that I could not speak with Armando, and that the owner would be calling me. It is now December 20, 2025, and I have yet to hear from the owner, or any other representative of the restaurant, for that matter. The Pasta Fresca is priced at $15.95. A pound of dry pasta can be purchased for $1.00. These portions contained about 1/4 pound of pasta. In addition, the vegetables in these dishes barely cost $1.50 each. The margins on these portions is obscene. The least they could do is add a little more pasta, which is dirt cheap. I understand and appreciate that restaurants, like every business, exist to make money. However, restaurants only make money when they have customers. When customers are happy, they keep coming back and spending money. That being said, after eating here since the doors opened, we will not be coming back, and this is so incredibly disappointing and sad. I was so hopeful that the restaurant would have made this right with me, but they failed to do so.

We were celebrating a birthday, so we decided to pull out all the stops -- and I'm really glad we did. I'll say right up front that the prices are a little higher than what I would normally spend on a meal, but honestly, it was absolutely worth it. They started us off with garlic bread that was incredibly delicious, and from there the experience only got better. Our server, Andrew, was fantastic. He mentioned that they might have been a little short-handed and apologized that he felt he couldn't be as attentive as he normally would be, but honestly, we never would have known. He did an excellent job keeping our water glasses full and making sure we were taken care of throughout the evening. At our table, we ordered the Chicken al Pastaio, Spaghetti Carbonara, Gnocchi Romana, and I had the Chicken Parmigiano. Every dish was excellent. I sampled a few bites from the other plates and genuinely enjoyed all of them. The real highlight for me, though, was the Beggar's Purse appetizer. It was pasta filled with goat cheese and pear, and it was absolutely divine. I can completely understand why they also offer it as a main course because I could have happily eaten an entire plate of it. For dessert, we shared cheesecake and tiramisu. The cheesecake was more traditional than what you'd typically get at places like The Cheesecake Factory, which caught me a little off guard at first, but it was still excellent. The tiramisu was also delicious, and we all got a good laugh when one of our guests accidentally inhaled a little cocoa powder off the top and started coughing and sneezing at the table. It honestly just added to the fun of the evening. At the end of the night, nothing we ordered disappointed, the service was wonderful, and it turned out to be a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We'll definitely be back.
