I love going to the library. Normally we just go for special occasions but we both had a horrible week so we celebrated. I had the best chocolate martini there. He had an old fashioned. Appetizers. You betcha. We decided to share the escargot. Delicious. I'm not sure if the snails are that good or the garlic and butter sauce. For dinner (as usual) he got the steak au poise. I ordered the duck l'orag. It was outstanding. Dessert? Yes please! We decided to share the bananas foster (prepared tableside.). I'm amazed we didn't start a fire with our clashing spoons. Would I go back there? Of course. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Baked Feta Appetizer

We found the Library on a Yelp search (thanks fellow Yelpers because your recommendation was great!) for our anniversary dinner. Our experience was top notch from beginning to end! Patrick delivered the most incredible service--from his descriptions of the dishes to his care for our experience to his enthusiasm. If you have the pleasure of having Patrick serve you then you are in for an incredible meal! (The other staff we saw with guests were also super kind and great with their hospitality too!) For our meal, we selected the baked feta appetizer. It was delicious and the perfect start to the meal. I selected a filet with a port wine reduction sauce. The sauce definitely was worth the hype. I'd recommend saving some of your roll to dip in the sauce! The steak was basically silk, you can cut it with a butter knife. My husband got the duck with a cherry sauce. He was a huge fan! For dessert we ordered a bananas foster dessert. This was prepared table side and made for an enjoyable end to our meal. (Several menu items are made table side and we enjoyed watching them be prepared for other guests).

Nice ambience. Food was well prepared. Nice presentation albeit small portions for a hearty appetite. Our waiter was new/inexperienced but endearing--could tell he was nervous. Pricey--safe for a special occasion.

A beautiful experience! The wait staff was great. They offered great recommendations and wine pairings. Several of the menu items are prepared table side.

Feature/ Seared Halibut topped with lump crab meat, and a champagne lobster cream sauce

My best friend & I enjoyed an amazing dinner experience at The Library Restraunt. Our waiter was phenomenal, making sure we were taken care of & happy but never too pushy. The food was outstanding. I wish I would have taken a picture of the Baked Feta appetizer topped with homemade tomato pesto, it was the best appetizer I've had! We order the seafood feature of seared halibut topped with lump crab meat, & a champagne lobster cream sauce. The flavors were great & the presentation beautiful. We were able to enjoy catching up with each other while not feeling rushed. It was truly a great time from the moment we walked in the door and the host walked us to the table & pulled out our chairs, to the moment we left, and our waiter walked us out and gave us a key line cream mint.

Grilled Halibut with carrots and potato

Our server, Breanna, was awesome, so tentative and efficient. She explained each dish precisely. The drinks were amazing and well balanced with liquor. The seafood trio is fresh, and Shecrab soup is the best we've had. My dinner was grilled, Halibut done perfectly Husband had shrimp scampi with a huge portion of pasta. Sauce delightful. The banana foster prepared table side was spectacular This restaurant is definitely a five-star

Their version of a dirty martini, served in a copper glass.

Dinner was good but a little overpriced for the service and slight disorganization that was delivered.

Does this restaurant allow kids?

I've not seen children at The Library nor is there any indication they are not allowed. As a fine dining restaurant ($100+ per person) it may not be the best place to bring kids.… Read more

Is there a bar to stop for a glass of wine and escargot?

I know they have a small bar if you can eat there or noti do not know.

Is there vegetarian options?

yes The Library Restaurant does have vegetarian options.

Can you wear jeans?

I wouldn't recommend unless it was a dark color with a sport jacket since this is a very dressy classic kind of restaurant

They mostly have your standard breakfast fare along with some sandwiches. There are only a few tables, but they aren't cramped. You order at the counter and just take a seat, and your food and drinks will be served to you. I'd guess there's only two people working here on a random weekday. Expect your food to take a bit, but it's completely fresh, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were large but balanced. I often can't finish sweet crepes due to getting sugar'd out. This one felt very focused on the fruit and allowing the Nutella to take a passenger, enhancing vibe instead. Omelette was cheese-central. I might ask for lighter cheese next time, but it was ridiculously delicious too. Croissants were SUPER light and fluffy, and they get served warm for you. Really tasty, perfectly baked. Bathroom was a single unisex room and older, but it was clean. Two booths that'll seat four people as well as multiple two-person tables with wooden, no-armed chairs. No stairs, and while it'd be a tight fit, a wheelchair could fit in here. (I don't think the bathroom is wheelchair accessible, though.) The guy running the place wasn't super friendly, but he wasn't *unfriendly*, and he was very efficient. He also popped in to see if we needed things and was there to deliver silverware and other things before we asked for them. If staff reads this: please replace/update the folded, faded paper signs on the outside of the building. That's part of why we haven't given this place a try in so long - and I'm sad we hadn't!

Being generous with a 4... Food is very good. The kitchen does miracles with the food they prepare. I had a shrimp dish with an interesting ragout of field peas, etc. The French Onion soup blew me away. I love this dish and they nailed it. Double chocolate Belgium torte and the check, which would be half as high if it were dinner. The wait staff should kind of levitate throughout the room, never looking askew mor overly bothered. Both failed at this, rushing into orders and offering few menu questions. You could tell they were in the weeds. As a diner, not only is that not my problem, but I expect unhurried and savory in my dining. I'll be back to see if today was a fluke. Caprice is under new management. Are these new problems under a new regime? I must say yes. Caprice was owned by a lovely French couple. Would love to see them back.

This review, however, is just for the bakery, as we did not dine in. The bakery case was full of beautiful pastries and French goodies that I just did not know what to get. We settled on an Apple turnover, chocolate croissant, and 3 small raspberry filled donuts. The clerk boxed up our items and rang us up, but the change drawer was a little sparse, so she had difficulty making change for us. They had just opened, but the drawer was not full for the day. Just odd, but not that much of an issue. There are no photos here of the cases because of the signs posted inside not allowing photos or videos to be taken. You have to come in to get a look yourself, I guess, but you won't be disappointed. I'd like to try lunch or dinner, or maybe the high tea, because the menu has some wonderful items listed. The pastries were delicious and buttery, and not sweet. Just a great mouth feel when you take a bite. I will definitely be back for something else.

We dined at night, when the patio glowed with lights, heaters, and long tables that felt instantly charming and warm. Inside, I loved the window at the end of the house looking straight into the kitchen. It felt like a front row seat at *The Bear*. The handwritten menu was a beautiful, elevated touch. The food was excellent. The burrata was the best I've had in ages, perfectly balanced with fresh, elegant flavors. The peppers with anchovies delivered a bolder, more dissonant note, but it worked beautifully. The bread was wonderful, the pork schnitzel hearty and satisfying, and my favorite dish was the snapper. Perfectly prepared, it came with a creamy but light sauce over a bed of onions. My only critique was the non alcoholic wine. The options tasted more like juice, and alcohol free wine can absolutely be refined and complex. These were not. Service? Yes. Yes. Yes. Warm, attentive, and genuinely gracious.
