Get a facial here, don't think- Just do it!!! Do it right now (but not TOO many of you... I don't want to have to book mine 3 months in advance if they get too busy). Liberte is actually the name of the LOVELY owner!! Cool name huh? She and Janessa are both literally the nicest people I've EVER met. They have relaxing voices and only have nice things to say about you/ everything ever. They're not fake nice either, you can tell as soon as you meet them how genuine they both are and how innately sweet! Just being around them made me feel lighter and happier. My friend and I got the BFF facial and I HIGHLY recommend it. It's only $100 for both of you, you're in the same room with someone working on each of you. I recommend wearing a tank top that you can pull the straps down to expose your shoulders- otherwise you have to disrobe and I'm a prude. It's a great service because you and your friend can chat and laugh the whole time, or if you're like us zonk out into relaxed blissful silence, peeking over at each other once in a while to check out how they're looking with goo on their face. FUN!!!!! Speaking of goo, the products they use smell WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! You can read descriptions of services on their website for details, but basically they do several masks and between each one they gently remove the previous mask with a damp warm towel and then spray your face with rose water. Mmmmmm..... They also describe what they're using on you and it's benefits without trying to sell you anything. They're very positive and only said nice things about my god-awful skin; Janessa gave a phenomenal scalp, arm, neck, shoulder, face massage; and I left feeling and looking fresh and awesome for my Saturday night out. I was so happy I tipped 30% and we booked our next appointment on the spot. PS. The aesthetician is overly nice, so much so that it does not feel genuine. She was working the entire time of my appointment, but mostly applying goop and then taking it off or massaging my extremities. There were no extractions done and I left my facial with every single one of the white heads/black heads that I went in there with. This little shop isn't in the best of locations, located between a homeless clinic and a vacant boarded up house - I heard yelling from outside while I was on the treatment table. For a more effective treatment, I would recommend Susan Grace Skincare. read more

Absolutely fantastic. I've tried just about every sugaring place in the Pacific Northwest (I may be exaggerating here, but just slightly) and Liberte can sugar with the best of 'em. In fact, she just might be the best! The space is lovely, clean and airy and light, and the treatment rooms are calming and welcoming. Last time I was in, I had my underarms done by a new girl who had just started working with Liberte, and they were both incredibly friendly and open. The treatment was fast and efficient, and she took great care to make sure that every last hair was gone while chatting with me about this and that. I'd dragged the boyfriend along, and Liberte had just happened to have her new puppy, Lincoln, in the salon, so everybody won. The customer experience is unparalleled. If you schedule services above a certain amount, she'll send you a complimentary Lyft to and from your appointment. I'm just going to repeat what all the other reviewers have said: This place is amazing! I saw Janessa for body sugaring and brows. What an incredible, sweet, and talented woman. First, I never thought that sugaring was even a possibility for brows, but now I'm not sure I ever want to try anything else! The rest of my body sugaring was as painless as possible. Janessa was incredibly knowledgeable about skin care and overall health and wellness. She didn't try to convince me that I need to buy 20 beauty products to put on my face, which is what normally happens when I go to a spa or salon. Instead, she gave some great, simple recommendations for natural skincare and told me where I could buy these things for cheap. I've been using jojoba oil thanks to her and a dermatologist told me that my skin looks amazing! I can't wait to come back for brows and a facial next time. I was looking forward to a facial but 30 minutes before my appointment the owner called me asking to reschedule.They have a 48 Hour Appointment Change Policy so I would expect them to respect that policy when it comes to the customer. Calling me minutes before an appointment was totally unacceptable- I had scheduled my work day around this appt (along with my nanny's schedule) - at minimum I would have expected being called a couple of hours before the appt. While it has great reviews I'll be taking my business elsewhere, to a place that respects my time. read more

I have been a loyal Liberte client since 2010, back when she had a little studio on the bottom floor of a Ballard apartment building. I hope I never have to go to someone else for my sugaring because they'll never live up to Lib. My only wax experiences before her were with hot wax, once at a place out of town and another time at a not-to-be-named salon in Seattle. Both times I felt not only like I paid a lot of money to have my sensitive bits abused, but also that they didn't even give me what I paid for: I had to do quite a lot of post-wax "grooming" on my own, afterwards. Lib is absolutely the counter to those awful experiences--she's at once professional and congenial, putting you at ease. She's gentle but she gets the job done and she really truly cares about you as a person, not just as a customer. I went in last month to get a maintenance Brazilian, which at most places is 5 weeks. But here it's 4 weeks. The owner, I'm assuming, came out to greet me and casually mention that was the case. So, ok I'm not considered maintenance in your world. Anyways got the service, which wasn't bad and fairly quick. But as I'm paying she says I owe $120. What!?! That's a ridiculous amount, but a huge difference from the maint. price of $65. When she popped out to inform me that I was not within her 4 week cutoff would have been a great time to mention the price difference. If I knew it would be that price I would have gone elsewhere. This review is long overdue. I went it here looking for a brazilian sugaring place and have been trying out all the places in the area such as sweet spot, sugar sugar, etc to find the best one. They were very friendly when I came in with my friend however made it a huge deal when I wanted my friend to sit in during the service. She was considereing sugaring so wanted to see what it was like but they would have none of it. I was in disbelief at how big of a deal they made it but decided to stay and get my service there anyways because we had driven 20+ minuites to the place. I have never been to a service place that would not allow someone to sit in with me if that's what I wished-customers first right? Aside from that, the service itself was just OK. At other sugaring boutiques they will touch up and tweeze hairs that the sugar didn't pick up but they didn't do it here. Also, I had regrowth within a week. My friend and I personally would not come back here for sugaring and recommend to go elsewhere. You can find a place for the same price that will give you very attentive service and a more thorough sugaring. read more

Great service and inspired beautician! Liberte made me feel immediately welcome and relaxed, offering water and tea and a chance to relax before starting. She also took one look at my face (blonde with very light/nonexistent eyebrows) and asked if she could tint them as a treat. I said sure and love them! Definitely a great little place. read more

I went here for lash extensions. She was very gentle and did a nice job. I tipped her $20 because she was nice and listened to what I wanted. However, that night I fell asleep with a really sore eye. When I woke up the next morning my eye was red and felt like it had sand in it. I went to URGENT CARE, where a doctor informed me that she had SCRATCHED MY EYE and applied false lashes to my inner eyelids, rather than on top of my existing lashes, which gave me an EYE INFECTION. I contacted Liberte to inform her and all she had to say was "I'm so sorry that happened!" At that point I had to actually REQUEST a refund to offset the cost of my doctor's visit copay and the antibiotic eye drops. She called me back and offered me a store credit via voicemail. We played phone tag a few times after that. I left her a voicemail and followed up with a text a few days later, and I still haven't heard anything. I was the last person to initiate contact, twice in a row. I haven't heard from her since. It's sad, because she really gave me the impression that she cares about her clients. Her lack of professionalism and inability to follow up are indicative of SERIOUSLY QUESTIONABLE business ethics. Needless to say, I will not be returning. If you want lash extensions without the disgusting infection, head over to Caroline's Lash Boutique. ______ UPDATE: About an hour after posting this review, I received a nasty voicemail from Liberte in which she accused me of lying about this (she said my review was "blatantly false") and she said she was stunned at my "lack of integrity," whatever that means. I am IN LOVE with my eye brows. I saw Janessa for a facial and eye brows sugaring. The facial was great and my skin was glowing but what really did it for me were the eye brows. I have difficult brows to work with - curly with a large scare running thru one of them. I was always too afraid to let some one else to them but Janessa did such a great job! First of all, she took her time to make sure they are prefect and that I'm happy with them. Also, to my great relief - it did not hurt at all. My eye brows look groomed and polished but also very natural. Janessa herself is really sweet and I love the fact I can schedule appointment online. This place is a winner! read more

I just moved to Seattle and booked my appointment before I even arrived. Based off other reviews it seemed like an amazing place. I am always a little weary when finding a new aesthetician for brazilians. I could not have been happier with my visit at Liberté. Not only was she incredibly kind upon first greeting my friend and I, she offered tea and made us feel right at home. I have never laughed as much as I did during a Brazilian before. The process was relaxing (as relaxing as a Brazilian can be) and fun. She had me literally belly laughing at some points. The sugaring process was awesome, and she really took her time to make sure everything was right. After the appt she even sent me home with a special product for my sensitive skin. Liberte is amazing. I went in yesterday for my very first Brazilian and she took such good care of me. She instantly made me feel at home, and told me when I laid down to face the painting of strong ladies lifting up the world. Instantly, I knew we would get along. She came back in after I disrobed and explained the sugaring process to me and that she makes her own product. She showed me how it all worked and got down to business. Let me tell you, Liberte had me laughing the whole time, which certainly eased the pain of having those little hairs yanked out of my "magical lady place," as she so wonderfully calls it. Not only was Liberte's bedside manner awesome, but I am so pleased with the results of my service. My magical lady place looks as beautiful as ever and I will most definitely be going back for more. I have been going to Liberte for as long as she's been in business (I think six years now!). She is incredible! I used to get waxed but my skin is so sensitive - I turn bright red (not fun when getting my brows done) and the skin is so tender for a few hours. Liberte is a master sugarist and aesthetician. She has a gentle touch and has excellent attention to detail. I always walk out of her shop looking and feeling my best. If you want to take care of yourself, this is the best thing you can do! Well, I suppose I must add to this list for 5-star reviews. Today, I found a new special place- Liberte' Skin Wellness. I walked in and I was immediately embraced by the lovely Liberte. This isn't just your average esthetician's office. I was handed a cup of tea with a side of friendly conversation while I sat to fill out my new-client form. The beautiful smells and warm atmosphere immediately seduce you into a mood of relaxation and ease. Although I've never had a full facial before, Liberte's personalized attention to me and my skin made this experience memorable. She really knows her stuff and takes time to understand your skin while she explains every step of the process. She also gave some love to my bush-man eyebrows. I often forget to spend money on "me" time but this is now my new ritual and it's worth every penny, if not more. I plan to come back once a month. I not only found a new place to help me take care of my skin but I made a new incredible friend. Listening to Liberte talk so passionately about her business makes me want to return tomorrow and the next day and the next day. I will absolutely send my friends to get facials and brows done here. I had bought a discounted package from Deal Pop before they went out of business, and has a brazilian sugaring, a facial and she even did my eyebrows at a discount because I had not planned to have them done and she helped shape them and get them under control. I had forgotten the name of her salon, and since Deal Pop had gone under and no longer had any records, and since she has moved in to another new location, I was at a loss at how to find her again! She will joke with you and chat through the whole experience. I was always worried about getting waxing done on my "magical lady place" haveing had enough pain when I'd had other areas done. I could gush and go on and ON for HOURS about Lib and her ability to immediately make you feel comfortable in her presence. Remember: We are talking hair removal in the "magical lady place" after all so it can be a bit unnerving seeing someone new for the first time. I found Liberte Skin Wellness thanks to a Groupon deal and I'm so glad I did. Once you step inside the doors of this lovely well lit salon (now in a new location), you feel welcomed, at home, appreciated and most importantly pampered and well cared for. What more can you ask for? I've had mostly sugaring services: lip, brow, brazilian (rarrrrr!) oh and a brow tint which I LOVE! All of my sugaring treatments have been wonderful. Unlike most aestheticians, Lib is very THOROUGH. After the sugaring is complete, she literally goes through with a fine tooth comb (well not really!) using tweezers to get the strays that have run amuk. I love that about her. It can be so annoying coming home afterward to find a missing patch remaining on a slick runway, you know? I've just had my brows and lashes tinted to a gorgeous shade by the darling Liberte. Not only is she caring, charming and gifted, she works wonders! My eyes stand out like never before and it was quick and easy. I was kind of nervous because I have sensitive skin and all but it was amazing. I went for a sugar brazilian so having someone to chat with and laugh with was nice to keep it from being awkward. She was efficient and thorough which I appreciate. I have used groupons before and received the "groupon" treatment (where the services are less quality because you paid less for them), but Liberte gave me a quality and rather painless brazilian.
