We didn't have an appointment and that wasn't a big deal as they put us with a nice gentleman to answer questions we had. He walked us through several options, gave us brochures to take home, and his business card. Not pushy and very nice. The buying experience was good. It all went south after the sale. After I purchased I asked how much to deliver it and got a quote for 600 dollars it was 107 miles and 1hour and 45 minutes away though that was high. I was able to line up a family members truck to haul it to Truman Lake. Was told I couldn't take it because it had to go through service. Fast forward to Wednesday afternoon I haven't heard anything from liberty rv so I emailed Shawn with no response. I called when I arrived home from work on Wednesday at 4:45 Sat on hold for 20 minutes hung up and had to call back. I was finally able to speak with someone from service that had no idea what I was talking about and knew nothing about getting my camper ready. The guy from service had someone from I'm assuming sales call me back. He said that he thought I was going to have it delivered but never once did I say anything about having it delivered accept for them to quote it. Finally got a time set up for a walk through Saturday at ten. Get to Liberty RV a few minutes early so my family could look at the camper before the walk through so they could point out anything they saw that needed to be addressed. They have purchased many campers and had some experience with travel trailers. We did the walk through and there were a few things that needed to get fixed so we pointed it out. The young man from service that did the walk through not the sales rep did a great job with the walk through and fixing what needed to be fixed. My wife and I thought it was very strange that nobody from sales joined us in the walk through. The only problem was nobody knew where the keys to the trailer were. So the nice young man from service had to switch out the door handle twice so we had keys to the camper. The problem comes in my opinion they had a week to get this trailer ready to go and shouldn't have to waste an hour trying to get fix what my wife and I thought it was stuff that should've been fixed before we got there. It took me calling after I was told liberty rv would call me and set up a walk through. We left liberty's rv and noticed the trailer seamed to be on the heavy side but made it to the campsite without issue. Went to hook up the drain hose took off the cap to find the black tank was 2/3 full and the gray was 1/2 full the black tank ended up splashing out all over me and the ground and what was in the black tank was not mine. The tank drain was left open so had no idea of the surprise I got. So I emailed Shawn the supposedly the gm at least that's what it said on his card. Now I have sent him two emails now with no response. After being in the car business for ten years this is not how you earn repeat business. I post this so if anyone decides to purchase a unit from liberty rv you know what to expect. It sad to spend this kind of money and get this kind of service. read more

I liked a trailer on RV Trader they had for sale however, it was dirty and in awful shape cosmetically in the photos(see attached). Basically they never too the time to prepare it for sale, didn't take the time as the market is hot. I wrote the dealership: "$32K and you cant bother to clean the rig before you list it? WTH?" The Internet/ Marketing Director, Steven Flanagan wrote me back unapologetically: "I wanted to let you know that the 2022 Rockwood 2109S you inquired on is currently pending a sale. BUYER BEWARE! I would highly encourage anyone in the market for an RV to look elsewhere. If you do choose to purchase from Liberty - HIRE an independent RV inspector to throughly inspect the RV you're considering even if it's a brand new unit! It could save you a lot of money and headaches after you drive off the lot because after the sale, they have no further use for you. We purchased a NEW 2023 Rockwood Signature Travel Trailer from Liberty. After getting it home, we turned on the furnace which produced a deafening, atrocious sound. It sounded as if it might explode. I contacted Liberty immediately but they couldn't make time to look at it for 2 months! I explained we were planning to leave town soon & RV full time which is why we purchased it in the first place. I guess I expected Liberty to say, "Absolutely, bring that right back and we'll get it fixed for you since you just purchased it from us for 55K" but no such luck. We were extremely concerned about the safety of the camper & despite the fact that we also purchased their extended warranty, we have PAID 6 different techs to attempt to repair it but not one has been able to get it to function properly. Recently, we were back through KC so I attempted again to get Liberty to take a look at it & got the same response. We can get to you in a couple of months. I don't know if Liberty didn't test the heater before delivery or they did, discovered it was faulty but allowed us to take delivery anyway. I purchased a new travel trailer from this dealer. The deal was fair and the trailer is great. This is a small, somewhat disorganized dealer, not big on paperwork, but I was treated very fair. They have low overhead so they don't charge any dealer prep, pdi, or doc fees. I came from out-of-town to buy the trailer, and the salesman, Kyle, answered all my questions, and sent photos when requested. I'd be shell shocked if this didn't go through" he also said he'd call me Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week. He still hasn't called me despite me leaving him messages and it's Friday night. My husband went in there today to ask a question about our camper refrigerator. He said the receptionist was super nice and helpful. She personally took him back to the service tech. He was nice and polite and answered all the question about the refrigerator. He even said he would order the replacement circuit board it needed. We will definitely go back their in the future. We've purchased two campers from this business in the past 6 years. We've always gotten the best care and service. We take our campers back at least once a year for service and/or to be winterized. We've been to other camper sales establishments but we really like Liberty RV. The only downfall is that our favorite salesman, Tony, isn't in sales anymore. We bought our 5th wheel at a different dealership many years ago, and recently had a broken glass cover to a pendant light. The dealership we bought it at was helpful, but wasn't able to find one. LibertyRv is close to us so we tried there. WOW...FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE! They went into their storage area looking over older stock and after quite a while, found it. We couldn't believe it. We bought a past rv from them before our most recent one, so we knew they were a good dealer...but their parts department and staff really rocked it and went above and beyond. We absolutely love our Camper. The sales experience was very simple and quick. The service department is where this company really shines though. They've gotten our trailer in and out for the one small repair to the faucet very quickly. They also charge you a very reasonable price for winterizing and de-winterizing. I live in California and when my wife and I were looking for a travel trailer we hit the web. with each search Liberty RV kept coming up. Once we decided on the model that we could pull with our Honda Pilot we again searched the web for the best price. Once again Liberty RV came up. Even with the cost of driving out to Missouri and back I would save $1,500 AND have an adventure! I researched them with the Better Business Bureau and through Reference USA to ensure they were legitimate. All looked good so after confirming that the deposit was refundable I put a deposit down on a trailer. They needed to order it built and it was going to take about 6 weeks, no problem. In the mean time, my wife and I decided that we might want a little bigger trailer. We knew that we would have to sell my Honda Pilot :^( and it seemed like a huge hassle. We kept looking and found the perfect used trailer (for us) locally. Alas, my Pilot is gone :^((. Once we purchased it I contacted Liberty RV to let them know and request a refund. After speaking with the owner, they have refunded my deposit. Though we did not do business this time, Liberty RV will be one of the first places I look if/when we decide to upgrade. read more

They found a similar trailer and said they would give me the price of the initial trailer I had asked to hold. That was the right thing to do in my opinion and honorable. I bought a new 2018 travel trailer from them in April of 2018 and have been living in it ever since because I am on the road for work. I started getting a very stagnant smell and thought it was my black tank. After repeated flushes and cleansers not fixing the problem I went on the hunt. After looking around I removed the access panel to get under the shower and realized that the p-valve had been cross threaded and had been leaking under the trailer for 9 months and had soaked and compacted the insulation and it was nasty. I realize that the dealer did not cause the issue but I contacted them and they told me to bring it in and it would only take a couple of days and I had them correct a few other issues. They had the trailer for 9 days and never contacted me once to let me know how it was going or when it would be ready. I didn't stress because I wanted it fixed correctly and I had a place to stay. I brought the trailer back and had waited to hook up the water due to extremely cold weather. After hooking up the water today I pulled off the access panel after I took a shower to make sure it wasn't leaking which it wasn't but then noticed that they had just shoved a handful of new insulation in the hole under the p-valve and after I felt around I could fell soaked and compacted insulation. So I know the stagnant smell is going to come back and the trailer will not be properly Insulated. I figured that after 9 days they would have dropped the bottom, dried it out, and remove all of the destroyed insulation and replace it all to get it back to how it should be but that was a huge mistake on my part. So all in all I'm going to call them tomorrow and give a small piece of my mind not that it will do any good and I have contacted Forest River to inform them of the situation and am patiently waiting a response. If you are going to purchase an RV or go to them for service I would advise against it because they are just a turn and burn joint with little to no reliability at all. I've attached photos of the "replaces insulation" and "fixed" caulking. Too add on when I got my trailer back I noticed that the thermostat was set at 90 degrees, needless to say when I when I went to use the propane tanks today "Surprise Surprise" both tanks were empty so it ended up costing me $51 to not get my trailer fixed. read more

I was always taught to under promise and over deliver if you live by this don't visit Liberty RV or you will be disappointed. So many empty promises were made by Liberty RV. My brand new camper has been having issues, and I was promised if I had any problems they would send a tech to my site no matter the location. After spending over a week trying to get them to help me with my camper they finally offered to come get it to work on it at their shop. The sales person was frustrated when I tried to keep them at their word of fixing it at my location I tried to explain to him that this was my home but he truly didn't care and told me it wasn't even his problem he just makes the sale. So with no other option I gave them the location of where I was keeping my camper. They didn't call or text the next day they just took it, and left everything in such a mess that the owner of the campground called me at working to tell me that he thought my camper had been stolen. I am not even sure how they got into the camper to pull in my three slides. When I got off work and went to see my site I could understand the owners fear of my camper being stolen. They left my heated hose plugged in laying in a pile of snow. They ran over my tire chocks and left the sewer hose connected to the drain. Where do I begin to explain how incredible Liberty RV is?! We RV travel fulltime as a family, and needed a new fifth wheel after being horribly treated and ripped off by a different dealer during our previous fifth wheel purchase just a few months prior. We were left homeless in October and met Bruce soon after and shared our story with him. He was determined to take care of us and help us out from the very start and we felt like we could trust him. Not to mention, we had heard from lots of people in the community that these are good guys. We had something very specific in mind, so we just kept in touch with Bruce for the next couple months as we worked through the mess of our first RV and waited for just the right one to end up at Liberty RV. We hadn't wanted to purchased brand new, but eventually that is the route we went and we are so glad we did. We purchased our Arctic Wolf midbunk a couple weeks ago and the process was amazing. Everyone was so good to us from start to finish. These guys bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of and had a great experience. Plus, they gave us an unbelievable deal on the RV. We could not be more grateful to everyone at Liberty RV. They have even taken care of us post sale, when we've had to call with questions as we learn how to operate this new rig. By far the worst experience I have ever had with any company. I have been trying to purchase a trailer from Liberty RV since the end of May and have been lied to so many times I lost count. I contacted them via email asking if they had a specific model trailer that they had listed on RV Trader. I received a reply saying it was sold but that they had a more expensive model. When I told them I would go to another dealer that had it, I received a reply miraculously claiming they found one from another dealer. I immediately advised that I wanted to move forward. For the next two weeks, they kept telling me the paperwork was being processed and that it would be done the next day. They also said they had already pulled my credit and started the financing paperwork but this was a clear lie as my credit report shows it wasn't pulled until weeks later. When I would follow up, I was told that the GM/finance manager wasn't off doing 'gopher tasks.' When they did pull my credit and provided me the loan terms it seemed like this was going forward, but then a few days later said the one that was found for me was sold. I then came down to the dealership and sat in Shawn, the GM's, office. While there Shawn reviewed his list of trailers and said he had one coming July 2nd that was being sold to his friend and that he would likely be able to convince him to take a later one (needless to say that didn't happen). He also showed me his inventory list showing the one being sold to a friend and one coming July 14th. Shawn said if he couldn't convince his friend, I would get the one on the 14th. He also told me he would email the following business day, copying the new sales agent, to confirm which one I would be getting. As you might guess, he didn't email the next business day. I followed up two days later - and then again the following day - before I got a response. That response stated that he would have info for me the next day, but as you might guess by now, I didn't hear from him the following day at all (despite my reaching out for an update). This past week I followed up two more times asking for a confirmation of the delivery date and did not get a response until I copied the owner on the email. The response I received was that they still didn't know when they would have my trailer (despite the fact he had showed me a list with the delivery date when I met in his office). At this point it is clear they are lying and likely feeling multiple people they will get the trailer so as to take the deposit and keep us from going elsewhere. What is most frustrating is that another dealer has had several of these trailers come and go during this period that I could have had if I wasn't lead to believe it was forthcoming from Liberty. The other dealer also told me they have heard similar stories form other customers of Liberty RV. It seems like this used to be a good company based on the reviews but at this point I would recommend you go anywhere else as they can't be trusted read more

I bought my first travel trailer this weekend. I had no idea what I was doing! Steve walked me through several trailers and pointed out the differences. He spent as much time with me as I needed to feel ready to make a decision. The financing was pretty straight forward, esp if you have ever financed a vehicle, etc. When I picked up my trailer, they spent an hour with me showing and explaining how the different systems worked and what to look out for. I was given a new trailer starter kit. They also walked through the parts department so I would feel comfortable. There was zero pressure to buy anything additional. This was a very positive experience and they have earned my loyalty. read more

Not at all pleased. Purchased our camper at Liberty RV on April 16, 2016. Took it out immediately and the next weekend then had a leak at our slider. Liberty RV kept it that week and said all was fixed and good. Then we are camping 4th of July weekend at Bennett Spring and have a huge downpour from our front seam that is directly over the main bed. Cut our 4th of July vacation short and got it in to Liberty RV as soon as they opened July 5th. Go and pick it up today July 16th as they say the seam is all fixed and there is no water damage or mold. We bring it home (without looking inside -- our bad). Head out to put our stuff back in the camper and there is water damage and cracks in the wood all around the bed and cabinets. Called to try and get it right back in they said no repair people are there so they will call us on Monday. They are definitely leaving a very bad taste in my mouth right now. read more

Not the best experience... Love our camper but agreed to a monthly payment that we were comfortable with and Shawn assured us we would have when coming in to sign. When we came to pick up our trailer they hooked it up to our truck with the special hitch that we bought BEFORE we signed the papers. At signing the payment was $36 more a month than we agreed on. After complaining, they did get it down to only $10 more month than originally quoted. They also talked us in to letting them get the insurance for us saying it would be so much cheaper. After paying for 1/3 of it up front, we found out a week later it was 1/2 the cost through our agent. The lastfrustrating thing happened when we took the camper to the highway patrol to have the VIN checked before taking it to the lake for weekend. Shawn told us we wouldn't need the title and could just show them the bill of sale to get what we need to license it in Kansas so we could leave it at the lake this weekend. NOT true... Now we can't leave it at the lake and will have to bring it back to get it licensed. They have good reviews but we think they will tell you things that they have no answer for or don't really know for sure just to get the sale! Make sure you check your facts before signing and letting them hook up a trailer to your vehicle! Not a happy camper! Follow Up: Bev the owner called us and was very nice apologized and offered to pay our gas to the lake and back which was much appreciated. What a bunch of crooks, first of all, Tony the salesman sold me a camper that needed front cap, they told me after I signed the papers, when I hook it up ready to go, I notice the blemish, then they told me, they would fix it at no charged, wish they told me before i bought it after driving 300 miles for a trade in, when I told them I don't want this camper, well they sold my camper that day while I was waiting for all the paperwork. Really nice salesman, then I had to argue with the owner Bev, she could care less, worst customer service, high turnover on employees, since this is my second camper with them, never again, will i buy a travel camper from them again. This isn't going to be our first RV and we have bought from Liberty RV before. So they have this trailer, just what I want so I call and am told they still have it, I say, "I'll call in the morning and IF you still have it I will come and look. I call the next day/morning, 9 o'clock and am told they still have the trailer so I tell them I am coming from an hour away can you hold it? The guy says "I will hold it for you, it will be here." So we get in the car in a very few minutes, drive to Liberty, I go in and the guy says "I have a problem" The trailer was sold last night and the salesman didn't make a note so it's been sold. So here's over two hours of our lives we will never get back because of the staffs half assed business practices. All he could do was to apologize, I was so embarrassed for him and them but it didn't make things any better. I can't say I was lied to but lets call it gross incompetence on their part so beware especially IF you live an hour or more away and they tell you they will hold a unit for you because IF they can sell it they won't hold it and they will sell it! read more

After visiting a few RV dealers in the area I learned my lesson and returned to Liberty RV. I went to a RV dealer in Olathe KS and they tried to sell me a used camper for more than could have purchased the same camper new at Liberty RV. I also tired to purchase a trailer at an Independence dealership just down the road for Liberty RV but while they were getting it financed for me they sold the trailer to someone else. They then told me that they could get the other trailer in a few days; but on the day that I understood it would be there it was not(note: They did offer to come down $200 for the wait). Also while waiting for the trailer to come in I notice that they had this same trailer on another website for around $1000 cheaper. When asking about why it was cheaper I was told by the owner that I could just move on that they would not go down any more since I had a trade. So that is what I did and WOW what a great choice. Liberty RV gave me a better price for my trade, better interest rate, and they also had no added fees for paper work and prep. They also filled my propane tanks and gave me a battery. Be sure to ask for Bruce and receive a non-pressure sales help. read more

If I could leave them no stars I would. If you don't like crooks and you do not like unorganized businesses then do not do business with liberty rv. I purchased an rv from them and it was a huge mistake. The finance guy Shawn is a joke. Please do not fall for any of their lies. They do not care about people and your financial well being. They WILL try and rip you off so please do yourself a favor and avoid this place or you will be stuck in a situation like I am. They lie and they have no clue if what they are saying is true. The amount of communication in their business is little to none. They are like almost any salesmen they will do anything or say anything to put a dollar in their pocket. Shawn doesn't return calls. He does nothing other than a small percentage of what his job requires. Do not be fooled with their low payments you will end up paying double what the camper is worth. Don't let them fool you into thinking you can't get a better interest rate because interest rates are almost always negotiable. Also when you go to buy which I hope you don't for your benefit, be carful because they will add on so many unnecessary fees. He will try to add on gap insurance and a tire protection plan with out even asking you and he will try to get you to sign the papers so fast you can't comprehend what is happening. The purpose of this message is to save someone from what I've gone through and the consequences I have to face because of a bad business deal and I don't want anyone else to learn the hard way unfortunately the way I did.
