I called every place I could think of and no mechanics would touch it, and the dealership just told me I needed a new axle. Luckily, I found Tactical Off-road on Google & got in touch with Chris Riggs the shop manager. He squeezed me in & fixed not only the track mount, but my alignment and steering issues I was having. He clearly explained how this happened in the first place and discovered an issue that was causing major other issues. My lift kit was put on improperly, & upside down, backwards and bolted into the wrong places. This was pulling my axle, making my steering unaligned, and giving me a bit of an unsteady wobble at highway speeds. This guy knows his stuff, is personable and didn't make me feel like a complete idiot. I am a young female, so that was pleasantly surprising & made me appreciate Tactical Off-Road and Chris even more than I already did. He also gave me a heads up of some other components on my 100k mile Jeep that I may want to look at getting replaced when he was under the vehicle. All in all, I really appreciated the responsiveness, quick turnaround time of the fix, and the overall friendliness that Tactical Off-Road provided. Will be a lifelong customer from here on out.

Here is a story about the perils of trusting a Jeep Shop. So I made a decision to get a AMW4x4 6.4l…read moreHemi Conversion done on my 2011 JKU. I researched the sites and the authorized dealers. I even called AMW4x4 Prior to making a deposit to see if the shop I had in mind was current and in good standing. I was informed that Tactical Offroad in Houston TX was an authorized dealer, and they were in good standing. I then got ahold of the shop directly and got quoted, with a few follow up calls from both me and personnel from the shop. But most specifically I spoke with Clarence Joseph Breaux (CJ) who is the owner of Tactical Offroad in Houston. On 8/23/2022 I made a substantial deposit and was told that parts were being manufactured so it would be a month or two before he even received the kit. During the ensuing month I had made a comment or two regarding being excited about my Hemi conversion on Facebook and the owner of AMW4x4 reached out to verify I had a kit in the making. I was told that kit had left the building and was already on its way to Houston. I still was not able to get my Jeep in for almost another month! When I finally got it in it took until 12/09/2022 for me to get it back and it was just one excuse after another of why it took so long. It was a mess. Let me just start listing all the issues I found. First and foremost was the Transmission pressure diagnostic code that when I looked it up said not to drive it and get it looked at by technicians. There was a wire loom on the frame that CJ said needed to be redone to be safe. And that would cost me $1000 extra! I said go ahead since this is the only time the body would be off. It was not secured and was very shoddy. There were fuel evap lines within millimeters of the bare exhaust pipe close to the engine. The wiring harness was twisted and a mess. The transmission shifter cable had been broken and then just zip tied. There were loose bolts on the driveshaft. The AC lines were not tightened and of course the AC had not been recharged. The coil covers were missing and the routing of hoses and lines on top of the engine was a mess. There were loose ground straps between the engine and body, there was a circuit breaker and a fuse for the stereo that was broken, the battery was dead, so we had to jump start it. There was a pinched and shorting wire harness in the engine compartment of the vehicle. The evap was leaking and throwing a code, the ABS was throwing a code, all of these codes were not present when I dropped it off. He tried telling me that the ABS computer needed to be replaced. At one point during the long wait for them to finish he tried telling me that the ABS connector had been messed with and they needed to re-pin it. When he was unable to get it properly tuned he told me we needed to replace the gears so we would know exactly what we were working with since it was changed by previous owner and I had no idea what the ratio was. I had a tracking device in the vehicle so I saw when he took it to two different transmission shops to have them figure out what was wrong. The AMW4x4 evap relocation bracket was not there. The stainless exhaust had been welded and since they didn't move the evap canister they bent and changed the orientation of the exhaust and muffler was sideways. There was just so much wrong and I was devastated. I reached out to AMW4x4, Jared, and asked if we could talk about getting this put right. He graciously offered to perform the repairs if I could get it to him. I sent my Jeep up to Holly Michigan to the Holy Grail of Hemi swapped Jeeps and they took it down to the frame and re-installed the hemi and trans the right way. The AMW4x4 way! I am so grateful for the Team at AMW4x4!! Thank you all!! So the moral of this story is that if you are trying to save a little and shop around for a quick and cheap deal, you will end up paying more in dollars and frustration than if you just would have went with your gut to begin with. Update: I did wait to hear from Clarence (CJ) on his own but he never reached out to offer to make this right. I told him once that I will trust a man until he gives me a reason not to. I had purchased the car with a tune already on it from someone else who did not have half of the knowledge or experience Chris does, and it was immediately evident from the moment I stepped into the shop. My 03 Cobra had a 2.9 pulley, K&N intake, SLP Catted X-Pipe and a Magnaflow Catback. With the previous tune, the car made 390/410. After Chris was done with it, the car made 454/454. Those numbers speak for themselves. Not only did he do an excellent job with the tune and get the car running right, he made sure to check the spark plugs and other common failure points that might reduce maximum performance. From start to finish, it was thorough and I left with what felt like a completely different car. I would recommend Chris and Heideman Racing Dynamics without a doubt. For reference, he was also working on a GT350, 2 other 03/04 Cobras, an SVT Lightning, and a handful of other high-performance cars making over 700+ to the wheels. I wouldn't trust anyone else to take care of my Fords in the performance department, and I will certainly be back when it's time for more power.

Please note that the information below is in ADDITION to all of the details I provided in my original review: * My passenger side Skar can speaker is cut, which was not like that when it was dropped off. The owner has not offered to replace this property he damaged. * The wiring to my back cans is hanging down and visible. This wiring should have gone on top of the bar, out of view - the owner was asked to HIDE ALL WIRING and if not possible to make it look clean and professional. The wire hangs down approx 1". * The dash where my tack was relocated, WITHOUT PERMISSION, is damaged and the owner claims it should not be a big deal because he only used double sided tape. That doesn't fix the gouge in the dash nor does it provide me with enough wire to relocate the tack BACK TO WHERE IT WAS on the other side of the gauge cluster! SO IT IS A BIG DEAL! The owner has not offered to replace this property he damaged. * The driver's side interior light has a wire hanging down that my foot get's caught on when I shift or enter/exit the jeep. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. * You can clearly see my CLUTCH BYPASS SWITCH hanging down with the monstrosity of wires along the drivers side. I shouldn't see any of those wires and I certainly should not see that bypass! THIS CLUTCH BYPASS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE and SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN TOUCHED! The owner is not a mechanic and should have never touched something that did not belong to the audio system. HE MESSED WITH THE MECHANICS OF MY JEEP AND CAUSED DAMAGE. The owner has not offered to take it to a certified mechanic to ensure the safety of my vehicle and that he did not cause further damage to the Jeep. * The front light in my grill is hanging down and barely staying there. It is about to fall off. * All of the rock lights in the wheel wells have wires that just run out in the open, fully exposed, and they cut across the wheel. They are tight so when I go offroading or something goes up into the wheel well area - the lights could be pinched or cut, making that light completely useless and then I have to replace ALL OF THE LIGHTS. Which wouldn't be a big deal if the owner had returned my personal property of lights and equipment he removed from my jeep that was in perfect working order. He was never told to throw anything away but HE WAS TOLD I WANTED EVERYTHING BACK that he removed. The owner refuses to pay for the lights and equipment he has taken/stolen. * My amps have constant power, I am not able to turn them off, which is draining my battery. * While this business was working on my jeep, I went to the shop to drop off the stereo head and there was a police officer who was waiting for his vehicle. He visibly angry and upset. The owner's wife told me that the office was "a really big pain in the f***ing a**" and they were tired of dealing with him. Additionally - This "business" owner continues to harass me and sent a direct message that he meant to post publicly. I put it in the pictures because I want others to see how he treats people who don't give him the review he wants and can prove that his work is not what you pay for. He is unprofessional and has absolutely no right to speak to me in this way. He has made an attempt to slander my name after he has been the one who initiated the messages on Yelp AND in text and started harassing and attacking me after my review. I don't think any business owner has a right to speak to a customer the way he has spoken to me and they certainly don't have a right to try and slander a customers name, or defame their character.
