This just might be my new go-to Chinese spot! In a state of famishment (is that not a word? Let's pretend it is), I ordered the shrimp teriyaki and fried veggie dumplings. I was revived at first bite! The vegetable dumplings had a light crunch and great texture. The shrimp teriyaki was beautifully marinated. Mixed into the white rice, it tasted divine. My only qualm is the rice to shrimp ratio - way too much rice for the amount of shrimp (this is not to say that they skimp on the shrimp). I will be ordering again! read more

Excellent, fresh food every time we have ordered! Very clean restaurant, too! For me, if the windows are clean and the restaurant is clean, then the kitchen is likely clean. Very friendly and competent staff. I typically call in an order on busy weekend evenings and they always have the food ready within 10-15 minutes for pickup. Pricing is very fair and comparable to most other local establishments. Very happy to report that this restaurant is a great little gem in the heart of the Garfield/Elmwood Park area! I decided to go out of my way to try this place out since it got so many good reviews on Yelp. Picked up a beef chow fun, General Tso's and hot and sour soup. The chicken was soggy, not crispy, the hot and sour was extremely spicy, ended up throwing half of it out. The beef chow fun was very good. But overall, based on what I had, I wasn't impressed. Work around the area so ordered their lunch special through their website. Very easy and organized! Called them twice to check on order because I had ordered before they opened, and also to give them more specific instructions on when and where to deliver. They have a section on their webpage to put specific instructions for delivery, but I wanted to make sure my food was delivered correctly (have had issues before with other restaurants delivery). They were super professional each time I spoke with their staff, and even delivered exactly on time. The food was also pretty good, and I definitely had a lot left over! read more

Recently moved into the area and was happy to find there was a Chinese take-out place walking distance from my new home. Even happier that I have been going to this tasty little take-out place for a few weeks now! The food here is really good and a little different...in a good way...than your average Chinese take-out joint. The dumplings are closer to the type you'd get in Chinatown and the seafood, meats and vegetables all taste really fresh. Best yet, their fried dishes such as the dumplings, egg rolls and fried rice are not greasy at all. You get to taste the food and not cooking oil. I have had the chicken dumplings, the awesome shrimp dumplings, shrimp with lobster sauce, fried rice and the four seasons and have not been disappointed once. They even have their own yummy take on some Japanese Udon dishes! The food is prepared quickly, is affordable and the staff are super friendly. I have ordered from Lian's at least 6 times.... each time I get a confirming email that indicates my order total. And EVERY TIME they appear at my front door to deliver, the amount owed is ALWAYS higher!! For instance, today I placed an order and I received a confirming email saying my total was $14.32. When he arrived at my front door, he said my total was $15.99. HUH?!? I tried to ask about this, but the person couldn't understand what I was asking (language barrier I guess?). Why does this place rip people off like this?? I have something a confirming email that says one price, and then they hold my food hostage until I pay the higher price! I am disgusted and will never order from them again. And I encourage others to stay away from this place! read more
