Hey Brian, I wanted…read moreto reach out about something that happened tonight that I feel you should know about. I also want to be clear that all of this transpired after you had already left for the evening. For context, I'm a regular at the bar and have been coming in for quite a while. I've never had a major issue with Brent or Steven, even though they both have personalities that can come across as sarcastic or abrasive. I've generally let it go because my reason for coming to the bar is simple: I come in to have a few beers, relax, and enjoy myself. Tonight, while I was still drinking one of my beers and had some left in the glass, Brent came by and took it away as if I was finished. I jokingly said something along the lines of, "I guess you're not going to let me finish the last bit." I wasn't upset and wasn't trying to start an argument. It was an obvious mistake that could have been solved with a simple apology. Instead, he responded with a snarky comment rather than acknowledging the mistake. Later, he brought another beer to my table. I made eye contact with him and before I could even say anything, he asked, "Do you want to say something to me?" I replied, "No, I just wanted to say thank you." His response was, "Your eyes are telling me differently." Again, I found that unnecessarily confrontational and disrespectful. At that point, I decided to leave a $0 tip. I normally tip very well, often around 30% or more, and this was the first time I've intentionally left no tip because I wanted to send a message that I was unhappy with the way I was being treated. After that, Steven came over and confronted me about leaving no tip. He asked if I was really zeroing it out and questioned me about whether something had happened between me and Brent. I told him that whatever issue I had was not his concern, and he responded, "Fair enough." I assumed that would be the end of it. Instead, Brent came outside and confronted me. He told me Steven had said I had a problem with him. I explained that I didn't have a personal problem with him; my issue was his attitude and the way he was treating me as a customer. Rather than listening, he became increasingly hostile. I reminded him that I'm a customer and that I'm only there to buy beer from the business. I'm not there to deal with sarcasm, attitude, or an employee's emotions. As a paying customer, the minimum I expect is basic respect. I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells or accept being spoken to disrespectfully while simply trying to enjoy a beer. That confrontation ended poorly and he went back inside. A short time later, he came back out and confronted me again, this time in front of other customers. The situation became even more uncomfortable because it was happening publicly. During that exchange, he ultimately told me that I was not welcome back. Again, I reminded him that I am a paying customer whose only purpose in being there is to support the business and enjoy a beer. I should not be getting into arguments with employees, being confronted in front of other patrons, or being told I'm not welcome because I expressed concerns about how I was being treated. The bigger issue is that, in my opinion, this isn't just about tonight. This has been months in the making. I've noticed a pattern with both Brent and Steven where they seem to have become comfortable treating customers with attitude and sarcasm in ways that shouldn't be acceptable in a customer-facing role. I've overlooked it many times because I enjoy the bar and didn't think it was worth making an issue out of. On the other hand, employees like Kim, Josh, and David have always treated me and other customers with professionalism and respect. They know how to joke around while still making customers feel welcome. I've never had an issue with them. From my perspective, the problem is specifically Brent and, to a lesser extent, Steven. Brent especially has developed a demeanor that I find unwelcoming, confrontational, and disrespectful toward customers. I don't think I'm the only person who feels this way. Tonight was simply the point where it crossed a line. I'm not sending this because I want anyone fired or punished. I simply think you should know what happened, especially since it all occurred after you had left. I've spent a lot of time and money at your establishment over the years, and I would hope that customers--especially regulars--can expect basic courtesy and respect from the people serving them. I wanted to give you my side of the story directly. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

The folks/beertenders were very friendly and you can tell they're enthusiastic about craft beer and the craft beer community. I've only visited once, but I've been told that they regularly rotate out their taps and have cans of local and not so local breweries for sale out of the fridge. At the time of my visit, I noticed some cans from some of my favorite breweries in the LA and SD area. The place feels like a craft beer oasis in that it's a bit of a destination and I'm not sure what else is around. Although, to be fair, I don't live in the immediate area and don't really know the area that well in terms of craft beer offerings. Definitely a spot I would like to frequent. There seemed to be plenty parking when I went. Not sure if it get's really crowded when some more of the surrounding businesses are open, but I had plenty of spaces to chose from.

It's a sports bar set up. I'll break our visit down... Service: Our waitress was nice and helpful, the place wasn't crowded when we got there (arrived at 4:30ish). They seemed pretty short staffed since there was only one waitress/hostess taking orders for the whole place. There was another girl, but she basically just delivered food and misc items to the table. There's also one other guy I saw that was bringing out food, but other than that...it was just the one girl taking orders and tending to the customers (seems like a management issue). This made our wait a little long (not a big deal). Food: Chips and salsa - were they rationing on the chips? Had a lot of salsa for like a sprinkle of tortilla chips - Burgers - see the pics posted - no complaints were made about the burgers and fries, in fact, we loved the food that we ordered. Drinks: Strawberry lemonade - according to my girls, it's one of the best they've had Watermelon Refresher - very refreshing, nothing to complain about Black Walnut Old Fashioned - really smooth and ol'skool Cafe con Agave - Not a fan! I've had a few from other places and this one was NOT it for me! Expresso Martini - It was just "alright"...I've definitely had better! Shots: Mexican candy, Cactus Cooler, White Gummy, & Green tea...it's a hit or miss with shots when they're flavored but these came out good Shakes- we ordered chocolate, cookies and creme, & fruity pebbles, let me tell you, the guy gets down in making milkshakes cus these were really good! Overall - I would recommend the place to anyone looking for a cool spot to grab something to eat, have a few drinks, and just enjoy the vibe of the place. I would recommend you check your receipts, I didn't realize that we were charged for a milkshake that we didn't get. They also gave us the wrong milkshakes to begin with. Lastly, if you're a big party, be sure to remember there's a gratuity, I spaced out and didn't think nothing of it so I tipped on top of the gratuity. I will say $72.71 in tip was NOT what I would've tipped for the overall service and experience, but it is what it is. Happy eating

Our group of six was seated quickly, but our drinks took 30 to 40 minutes to be served, and our food never arrived. Don't waist your money here on food on our way out the door we seen people sitting down complaining about how the food was disgusting and they waiting a very long time to get served nasty unflavored expensive food!!!!!!! Colton has a certain air about it doesn't it? Well today I stopped in for a good hour plus. It was a Monday, so it was a little on the slow side (10-12 patrons after 9 PM - most seated at the bar). I had a Pacifico and Lime and it was served in a large Schooner (what else would they serve it in? ). It was ice cold and refreshing. The only thing better than the first beer was the second one. I also ordered a Cheeseburger and Fries (pretty standard for me - just cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickle). Burger and fries were cooked to perfection. I was surprised I was not asked how I wanted my burger cooked but I know a lot of establishments in the area always air on the side of caution. Though well done, the burger was very tasty and juicy (good fat to meat ratio). The fries were thin crinkle cut fries - crispy and well seasoned but not too salty. The ambiance was what I expected - a dive bar. And don't let that term put you off. Dive bars are a special breed hanging on in a sea of cookie cutter national chains, celebrate the ones that are still around. Oh, and between you and I, Bella is a delightful bartender, make sure you tip her well or we're gonna have words!

Our bartender was also very nice and he honestly fit the whole vibe of the restaurant perfectly. There were really only two downsides for us. The candied bacon was a little too much. I didn't catch her name, but unfortunately her attitude came across as pretty judgmental and unfriendly, not only toward us but toward several other people as well. It definitely put a bit of a damper on the experience. Aside from those two things, everything else was good. The atmosphere is fun, the place is super cute, and I'd definitely give it another try!
