I had no clue where to begin and really no idea of what would work best for me. She was able to come in look at what I had, ask a lot of questions and come up with two perfectly designed closets. The installation was fast and pleasant. The two guys that came out were a delight to work with! Asking me questions along the way to make sure I liked everything they were doing. When no one arrived, I texted at 11:15 AM to see if she was on her way. She responded, first saying she assumed I wasn't able to meet. Later, she explained she had a severe migraine and had gone to urgent care. I completely understand that medical emergencies happen. What I don't understand is why I wasn't notified before the appointment. We already had a scheduled appointment, so I was disappointed that no one reached out to let me know she wouldn't be able to make it. Instead, I waited without any communication. I also reached out to the company at 11:15 AM, but four days later I still had not received any follow up. I was ready to move forward with designing three closets, but the lack of communication from both the designer and the company did not give me confidence to trust the process

Even now, I can find the most obscure item in under a minute -- it's a gift that keeps paying off every single day. Recently, I hired them again to organize my office storage room, and it was somehow even more incredible. Without the emotional attachment factor, the transformation was fast and unbelievably efficient. What would have taken me at least a month took them just six hours. Six hours! Amy, the owner, is exceptional. She is kind, thoughtful, and so easy to be around -- truly good company during the process. She has an incredible ability to help you make decisions without pressure and offers the best, most practical advice. Her systems actually work and are sustainable. I genuinely wish I could hire them to organize my entire house. If you are even thinking about it, do it. It is one of the best investments you can make for your sanity and daily life. Waverly has completely transformed our home and gave me a stress free life. We started in the garage which was life changing, and then they came back for the kitchen and loft area. I never thought our home would be so organized. I'm completely grateful for everything they did and all the little added details and touches along the way. Our garage now has a living / lounge flex space, storage space with everything off the floor and a gym. Incredible - Michele

They have been professional, flexible, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. I received a follow-up from my inquiry very quickly, we met for an assessment, and it was to easy to handle the payment for their services. I was a bit anxious (haha, that's an understatement- I was freakin' out!) about letting people "see behind the curtain" but they made me feel incredibly at ease and didn't make me feel judged for years of clothing build-up and lack of organization. The best part was how self-sufficient and autonomous the team was, which made all the difference for me trying to juggle a demanding job and childcare, etc. The team will work with YOU to understand how you function in your space- and then make sure that whatever system is put in place supports your usual routine!! Here's the key: they do this so the work they do can be easily maintained going forward. This is an investment into your home, your wellness, your sanity, your relationship... and so much more! We're already booking I-deal-lifestyle for the next project - our Kitchen! My only regret is having not called them sooner. In the meantime, I will be diving into Marla's book, The Clutter Remedy, to be reminded of what I've learned so far, and to keep up my beautiful and organized space. I've only read the first chapter and I am already just so happy that I invested into myself. Thank you Marla + Team at I-deal-lifestyle!

Marla is quick to brag about unrelated job credentials. I should of known then. I have used professional organizers before and was very happy. Never a problem! *Further, I am insulted buy her comments & insinuations after posting this review which are absurd and lame excuses. No one babysat my teenage son or my little girl! And for 30 hrs?! Really? This woman is nuts! Even one of her workers told me she was crazy!) My nanny and my other hired workers witnessed her poor service and commented on it every time. Yes, MY NANNY who was full time -child care for my daughter was always present- Not strangers I hired to unpack & organize my home. Absurd! The college girls chose to play with my daughter. It wasn't anything I asked for or preferred. I hired them for a specific job totally unrelated to my kids- what an insult to suggest otherwise. And, I did assist when asked- wasn't sickly or absent- just exhausted after this drama experience. *Based on Yelp reviews I decided to try Marla for a 2 bed, 1000 sq ft move into a 3 bed, 3 bath 1700 sq ft brand new, high-end gated community home 15 miles away. The job was to pack my home, move me into the new home, unpack and organize my new home so that I could be moved in quickly and not interrupt my work schedule. Marla assured me they were trained and could do this seamlessly without having me manage the job or interfere with their work. It was all clear and agreed prior to hiring Marla. No surprises on my end. I am a busy, professional single mom so I had no issue paying for and hiring a professional to make my life easier. **I wasn't seeking a cheap solution rather a much needed professional service. I have no problem paying for quality. If I was looking for budget I would of hired the desperate men in front of Home Depot! Marla was never present and although her team is very nice, they are NOT professionally trained organizers. Her team is just young college kids who did pack my house quickly... That was great but NOT organizational pros. Proof is in the photos I will attach to this review. (Somehow photos were taken off Yelp?! That's suspicious!) they just showed lack of organization- nothing more. Marla suggested I use her team to actually move instead of a moving company. The move was to be expected with their limited moving experience however I was still satisfied. Didn't feel money was wasted. I saw the labor and effort however it was nothing to refer or brag about. Things changed once I moved into the new home. It was agreed to unpack my home and make my home look very neat & organized. Marla bragged of feng shui experience and other ideas I liked. Her team packed my home so I assumed by the labeled boxes they would know where things basically belong... Being a professional organizing company. Basically unpacking consisted of just opening boxes putting items alla wherever, and leaving piles of boxes and trash in front of the home. I had to re-do the unpacking and organizing that was done. Even a simple linen closet is linens taken straight from the box, not refolded. Looked like they were flung onto the shelves. My kitchen was unpacked by the nicest girl but items were not well thought out as they were put away so the flow of the kitchen is totally off. Things were unpacked without any thought. No order. The crew claims they worked hard and the house didn't have enough space however this is a much larger home then from where I moved- double in size in an upscale gated community. My prior home was not cluttered and was a much smaller space. I had very little stored in garage so the excuses were not adding up. I understand moving is challenging but this was a job going downhill quickly. The unpacking and organizing was not high quality at all. My new home was left with boxes still in the garage pilled high and furniture never made it to the correct rooms. After 2 days of unpacking with Marla's company I decided to cancel the rest of the work. I just wanted them out! I feel after nearly $2000. That this was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional and I was being duped. Over promised, over sold and under delivered. I didn't want to continue paying them for sloppy work although would have continued to pay them to finish the job if they were worth it. A professional moving company would of been less expensive and would of done the same quality of work or better...I was looking for ORGANIZATION & QUALITY and willing to pay for it. Since Marla I hired a real certified company and the difference was monumental

So here is my updated review…read more As far as staff, everybody was very cordial, polite, and showed up on time. Denise specifically had a great vision for what she wanted to do. That was appreciated. We were having our pantry and kitchen reorganized because we just have so much stuff and it made it very difficult to have any somewhat of organization. Denise, another staff member showed up at 9 AM to get started. Forgive me my mind is fried I forgot her name. Things started slow, which is understandable because there needs to be some two-way communication on how things are going to be and how we wanted it to go. Once things got going, we took a step back and let them do their thing. There was a bit of miscommunication on how things were specifically being charged per hour. We had an understanding in our estimate that 10 hours at $100 an hour was what we were budgeting for. $1000. As things progressed, I asked a question regarding how late they were staying since things seem like they were moving a little slow. I was told they were working from 9 AM to 2 PM which is five hours. So the miscommunication was that I was being quoted 10 hours With five hours for each person coming. That's where there was a miscommunication. I do not believe it was on purpose. I think it was just one of those things that wasn't clearly discussed. I can take partial blame for not asking the question, but I made an assumption. The girls stayed an extra two hours to try to finish the pantry. So the kitchen portion was not even addressed. And reach out to the boss Cathy, I explained where there was some confusion. Once it was explained that we were essentially paying $200 an hour for two people to be here we quickly hit our budget limit, which did not allow for a secondary follow up for the kitchen. The girls did their best to get the pantry finished as possible. There were many items that were still left out that we were told we could now figure out where those could go. The pantry is re-organized much better than it was before absolutely. Was it a $12-$1300 worth job? No based on many other estimates we had received this was the highest we had had. But based on recommendations we wanted to go with a group that had a background that seemed to have a strong foundation in this area. This is not personal, Cathy, Denise, and everyone else were spectacular people and I do not believe that there was the slightest intent for the miscommunication on cost. Again, the pantry looks much better than it did before, but there was also a bit of unutilized space considering so many things were left out. That seemed to come from the fact that Denise needed to rework things that the second staff member had done prior. As stated before, Denise seem to have a better vision and honestly may have done a better job on her own. Communication with Cathy is fine. She did try to address the issue by giving us a slight break on how we were paying, but I did make it clear. We definitely could not afford a follow up at what was being charged. My recommendation is this. If you're looking for someone to do a house move or to deal with a hoarding situation or an overloaded garage where you just need a ton of things moved out, boxed up and gotten rid of. They are the perfect solution. If you're looking for someone to re-organize kitchen cabinets, drawers pantry space , this might not be the best choice due to cost alone. They appear to be a fantastic company that does show empathy and care but I think due to the cost loan we would not be able to utilize them again. If you're on a budget, you may have to look elsewhere. Again, if you were doing a major move or you need to clean out the top overloaded area to get things moved out and gotten rid of. They are definitely the ones you want to call. For future in-house re-organization we would have to go with a different option that's more affordable within a budget. $100 an hour per person is just a bit much for the average homeowner. I do think Cathy for her communication and attempts to make things right. Most businesses won't even bother with that. She showed integrity. Again I believe there was just a unclear miscommunication regarding the cost. Having multiple staff on site at the same time. Question apparently I should have asked, but just did not think too. I'm giving them four stars based on the fact that I think they definitely meant well and Denise really did do exceptional work in the time she had especially considered. She was reworking things that had been done prior.

Closets by design is offering 55% off and I was even offered a loyalty discount because I'm a return returning customer. The sales rep came out to my home. I essentially said exactly what I wanted. No frills white melamine installation for two closets, one which is 4 feet wide and the other, which is about 5 feet wide. Four drawers three or four shelves and two rods to hang shirts and pants. Nothing long. The estimate for this no-frills White melamine project for the two closets was originally priced at $7500 and after all the gracious rebates and discounts took it down to approximately $3,200! And that is with a 55% discount plus an additional loyalty discount probably a 5% for a total of 60% discount off of $7500. What a scam! The bid on these two closets including any incentive should've been no more than $1200 as a fair and reasonable price with 60% off! And no cost for installation. What a joke! When I receive the bid from the very nice sales person that came to my home, I immediately responded and replied that I felt that these prices were used and highly inflated only to absorb their fake discounts. Obviously, I received no response. Shop with local vendors, not nationwide like companies like this that inflate prices and give you discounts that you're not getting!

Fast forward to today... the closet is falling apart. Note: this is our second home, so the drawers have seen very little use. When I purchased the system, it was sold with a lifetime warranty. So, I called to request a repair. Unfortunately, I was connected with the same service manager we dealt with previously. He claimed the issue wasn't covered under warranty and insisted the repair would cost $250 -- no exceptions. I have the email chain to go with this entire experience. When I expressed my disappointment, he started yelling, told me that escalating the issue wouldn't matter since he's the manager, and then hung up on me. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that overpromises, underdelivers, and shows so little regard for its customers once the sale is made.

It's not something I could have done by myself without taking a month off of work. They helped me go through an enormous amount of clothing, furniture, and old knickknacks, and sorted things into piles that were easy to keep track of. They also packed up some old china with great care and expertise. They even scheduled the local charity for a pickup! They were supportive, considerate, patient and fun throughout the entire time.
