We recently needed troubleshooting for our home theater system and my husband made numerous attempts to reach someone at Empire for assistance. Calls were not returned and when he did manage to speak with someone about a service appointment, all he could get was "maybe we can stop by on Friday". Not exactly what we expected given the money we initially spent. Needless to say, no one showed up on Friday. We ended up finding another company that not only returned our calls, they sent a tech out a few days later who quickly resolved our issue. Then he went through our system and pointed out some optimizations that, honestly, should have been made during the installation. When you invest in Control4, any updates/changes have to be made through a dealer, so it's extra annoying when the dealer you purchased through no longer wants your business. We look forward to working with our NEW dealer to install additional home automation and home theater components.

I hired W&J Electronic Services LLC to install a garage storage cage on the ceiling of my garage…read more Before starting, I was told the job would take approximately 1 1/2 hours at $125 per hour. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. It took approximately 3 hours just to assemble the cage, and the job was still not completed. At that point, I was told that the work could not be finished because the installer did not have a ladder tall enough to complete the installation. I was told that he would return with a taller ladder to finish the job. However, he never came back. When I followed up, I was told that he could not get the appropriate ladder and that if he did obtain one, I would be charged an additional fee for the ladder. At this point, I have paid for a service that was not completed, and I am left with an unfinished installation. Had I known beforehand that the installer did not have the necessary equipment to complete the job, I would have hired someone else. I am leaving this review to warn potential customers to clarify the total expected cost, estimated completion time, and whether the installer has all of the necessary equipment before hiring this company. He accepted the challenge, and showed up 2 hrs late. He successfully changed 2 bulbs. He said that he couldn't get the broken bulb out, though prior to him coming he said that he could. He broke the inlet for the final bulb. After completing what he said he could do, I paid hime the full agreed upon amount for the 4 bulbs. He said a scaffold would be required to complete the job, and while he didn't have one, he could give me the name of someone. After not hearing back, I contacted him. week later. He asked for the ceiling height again, and I never heard back. In summary, he was late, he was unable to do the task requested, and even worsened the situation. He then did not follow. When you combine the whole experience, it was mediocre, with bad follow through.

Holy Cow! You may want to think twice about using this company! I hired them to do a simple job. I…read moreneeded two Cat5 drops installed at my home and to mount two wireless access points. It turned out to be a fiasco! (It started on a Wednesday) He ran the drops but did not understand the instructions for using the Aruba wireless/ HPe access point mounting kits (part number: AP-220-MNT-W2W). In the process, he cut up and damaged one of the mounts as well as made over 8 screw holes in my ceiling. When he was "complete" he quickly took my check and left. Within the first hour of his departure, the AP's received power via POE, but no data. I immediately called and texted him about the issue. He assured me that he was currently going to his next job, but would return the following day (Thursday). The next morning, I texted him at around 8:30 am to confirm he would return that day to correct the cabling issues. I received a reply, that he was indeed planning on returning that day to fix things. At 2:22 pm, I once again texted him to see what the ETA was on returning. His reply was that he was finishing up a job and would text me when he was on the way. At 6:33 pm, I received no calls or texts, so I once again texted him to see if he was indeed still coming. The reply was "I'm heading to pull footage for the cops", whatever that means..... After that text, I never received a call or text again. Fast forward to Sunday, where I had to hire another cabler to come in and fix this guys shotty work. In short, he made several unnecessary holes in my ceiling, cut up and damaged an AP mount kit, and literally mis-wired the RJ-45 end connectors. He literally flipped the pinouts from left to right. In short, clearly, this guy is a jack-leg who doesn't know what he is doing with regards to Cat5 drops, RJ-45, Ethernet, and keystone connectors. He tried to take the "money and run", so I had to put a stop payment on the check.
