I have been coming to Lextech for about six years, and I plan to always own a Toyota or Lexus so I can continue getting my car looked after here! They always do a great job on my maintenance and any major repairs, and are fast and reasonable as well. They never try to upsell either, and their local restaurant recommendations are free! This is a family owned business, and Paul and his crew are the nicest. I am disappointed in Yelp for not carrying over their former reviews because of the location change - the raving Yelp reviews are how I had found Lextech in the first place. Went in because the battery in my 2007 Prius was discharged. I was ready to buy a new one when one the guys checked the battery and just told me that it needed to be charged. And I haven't had a problem since. Honest service that I appreciate. I'm taking my Prius to Lextech for the regular maintenance instead of the dealership in Hollywood. read more

A couple of weeks ago I was offered an oil and filter change special via phone at Jim Falk Lexus. While there, I was told that I needed new rear brake pads to the tune of $400. I refused, and after a little Yelp research, decided to give Lextech a try. Boy, am I glad I did! They made my appointment less than 24 hours in advance, even though they are busy on Saturdays, AND changed my brake pads quickly for less than HALF the price. They also gave my car a courtesy wash.The garage is super clean and the employees were extremely friendly too. When I asked for a local Starbucks, I was referred to a delicious coffee spot a couple of blocks down Sunset. Not only did they offer me a lift, but they told me to call once I was done so they could pick me up. I opted to walk, but appreciated their kind offers! You know what the best thing is about owning a Lexus? Getting to bring it to these guys should it ever need a repair or service (which is rare since it's a Lexus). Paul and his team are the real deal. Clear and patient- they will explain everything in a language anyone can understand. No weird or off-putting technical jargon. They know not everyone is a mechanic and they make you feel good and certain about each step in the service process. Workable and honest- They will do their best to get your car in and out with your schedule in mind. They will help you prioritize repairs based on importance and budget. And, unlike a bunch of other shops, they will not try and sell you on frivolous services. Personable- This is my second visit and I already want to have the whole team over for dinner. They made me feel welcome, no pressure, no rush. Their location is clean, every team member was cool, well kept, and professional on every level. They do not cut corners so don't expect it to be Jiffy Lube, but the quality of work and attention to detail is worth every minute. Can't say enough good things about them. I was wrong about an issue with my aging IS300 and rather than fight me on it, they did their best to make me happy. When I found out I was in error, they gave me an out so that I would not lose face. The owner runs a customized SC with a turboed 1JZ so he has a personal connection to the technology. Long story short I was driving and my car started smoking. Luckily I got it home. My oil had leaked out so I had to call AAA. I knew instantly they would take it to Lextech because of my previous experience there. They towed it to Lextech as I feared that I would be paying an arm and leg for my car to be fixed. They called me and let me know how much it would cost and I was so happy that it would be under $300! My oil pipe had a hole in it so it had to be replaced. When I picked up my car, Paul was nice enough to explain what happened and what he did to fix it. He was genuine and really nice. Aldo, another nice gentleman rang me up and offered me water. I was in and out in no time at all. On top of that, they gave my car a courtesy car wash! Glad I found this place for my car needs. Paul, Mill, John and Michelle (there is another gentleman whose name I didn't get) are just waaaay too cool for school. I've been taking my car here for a little less than a year now but it was this recent experience that made me have to show 'em some Yelp lovin'. I have a 6-speed manual and the boot around the gear came undone due to a mounting clip falling off somehow. Trust me, it was a mess. Well anyhoo, Lexus was going to charge me something crazy to fix it. They wanted to replace a whole new section of the console. Ain't nobody got time for that! I only needed a clip! So, I decided to take it to Paul to see if he could hook a brotha up. I've been to all sorts of car repair shops and dealers. I can't repair my own cars, but I consider myself a car enthusiast. I love driving and a well-tuned car. This is by far the BEST auto repair shop I've ever been to. Honest, clean, fair, reasonable prices and they do great work with great communication. I'm so happy I found them. Lextech is great. They offer an honest service, carry great knowledge, work quickly, but thoroughly, and all at a reasonable price. Paul and his crew are genuine experts, and nice bunch of guys. My Prius Hybrid Battery hit the dust, and they got it up and running again, feeling as good as new, within 36 hours. These guys are experts with Prii, and I'd highly recommend any owner out of warranty to put faith in these boys. They asked a little more than some other smaller teams out there, but with good reason. I feel certain that the service I paid for was worth every cent. The best mechanics in LA. Really honest and straight forward, they won't try and rip you off or add extra things to your bill if it isn't necessary. - aka they won't try to overcharge you! Also, everyone at Lextech will take the time to explain anything to you if you ask, they provide expert options with no BS. Everyone at Lextech is super friendly and knowledgeable and provides great customer service. Great at communicating and quick! Honest affordable mechanic! I went to ISE and Five Star Tires first, Lextech is better. My check engine light came on and ISE Auto told me it wouldn't be less than $200 to fix... Paul fixed it for free in under an hour. He checked and swapped the spark plugs and coils. He ran a full diagnostic while driving it. He cleaned the throttle body. And washed my car. Did I mention IT WAS FREE! Seriously, Lextech won me over: I've been going to Five Star Tires since it opened, they treated me pretty good, but Lextech is the best! read more

I love my Prius. I really do. I have owned for close to six years. In that time the only time I have taken it to the dealer has been for recall notices. I have had the oil changed every 5,000 miles, and have replaced cabin and engine air filters myself. I have checked and topped my own fluids, and rotated the tires every five thousand miles. Other than replacing the small battery, I have not had any issues. I have been searching for a good, local Toyota mechanic nearby and have come up with nothing. I found Lextech on Yelp, as well as some Toyota and Lexus forums and decided to have them do an inspection. Lextech is about 20 miles away and not very convenient, however, when I called to make an appointment they were very friendly on the phone. We scheduled an appointment and they estimated it would take around an hour, barring any repair work if needed. When I arrived at Lextech, Paul the owner treated me like a long lost friend. He is a GREAT guy! He suggested a couple of coffee places in the area and told me he would call my cell if they needed to have work authorized. For $45 they inspected my car and it was fine...they replaced the two fog lights that were not working and washed my car. I left there shelling out a total of $60, and $45 of that would go toward any work needed in the next six months...if I need any work at all. No upsell, just straight honest mechanics who know Toyotas and Lexus inside and out. I highly, highly recommend Lextech!!!! read more

Went here based on a recommendation and was not disappointed. They were friendly and got my car's oil change done quickly - as well as a car wash! I called 4 hours before I came in and they took my appointment. Upon arrival, they were prompt and kept to my appointment time, something I really appreciated because I hate making appointments and still being made to wait. They explained why there were pricing differences, what kind of oil, etc. so that was nice since I had no clue. Went to a local coffee shop while they worked - they even offered a ride but I wanted to walk around the area. Friendly! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. I've been getting my car serviced here for under a year now. I saw the 5 star review for this place and decided to give it a try. So glad I did! The service is excellent for the price. They did a thorough inspection on my car and gave me an oil change for less than half of what the dealer quoted! The entire time I felt confident my car was in good hands. Aside from the oil change, I've made a few stops there - once to put air in my tires and another time to fix a small dent in my car. Both times took 5 minutes, and they didn't charge me since I'm a regular customer. I can't imagine the dealer giving service like that. I highly recommend Lextech!! read more

I've taken my car there 3 times. They are great with my car and even once corrected me on my diagnosis saving me almost $ 500!! It's the only shop I've taken my 09 IS250 and even with the low mileage of 190,000 miles ( all me ) they still don't try to oversell me on things I don't need. How do you PROVE your mechanic is honest? In May they said my car was approaching the time for a brake job. But when I returned in September for that purpose, they measured the pads and said there was still enough to keep driving safely. (I drive conservatively and not many miles.) So after topping up tire pressure and fluids, they sent me off without charge. On two other occasions, the mechanic working on my car patiently explained aspects of my Lexus and the work done, and answered my questions. Office staff are also service oriented. read more

These guys are fantastic. Even though I live near Santa Monica, I've taken my CT200h in for multiple service appointments here and set up the appointments with Paul through Yelp messages. He's always friendly and responsive and I get my appointments quickly. Not only that but they also specialize in servicing Lexus and Toyota cars so they know what they're doing and on top of that-have very reasonable prices when compared to stealership service centers. Most importantly, they're honest - unlike other service centers - the guys at Lextech give honest assessments and aren't pushing you to buy new parts that you don't need. I love Lextech! I've brought my 2007 Toyota Prius here for years. I followed them from their original location in Silver Lake to Highland Park. Their prices are reasonable and as a woman, I feel like they do not overcharge me for services, as some places are apt to do. They do their best to be accommodating and give great referrals. Just this morning, I called to see if they do smog checks, which they don't, but the owner gave me a great recommendation near my neighborhood. They have a clean lounge with free Wifi if you plan on waiting for your car. There are also some great taco places within walking distance. It's a great location. I've seen them deal with upset customers, and they do their best to appease them, but some people really expect too much as far as cost goes. Workers gotta eat, ya know! read more

I like the way they handle business, upfront and honest. My visit was about my brake system and a possible misfire. They read the codes and off the told it could be this but we aren't sure we rather you could to operate the car normally and if the codes return we know where to start troubleshooting, instead of just replacing parts. I recently had a Greddy SP exhaust installed on my 2017 Civic SI at different performance shop. I came home with rattles and metal hitting the heat shield. Found Paul online and gave him a call right away. He set something up within the hour. Paul and his crew solved the problem right away (hangar was rubbing against exhaust) and I was out of there in 20 mins. The car ride home was great!The rattles are gone and it feels amazing! I had my car repaired at Lextech last year, before the pandemic. Excellent job. I had taken it out to 3 other mechanics before, who couldn't find the problem on my Toyota Camry and were a waste of time and money. It was the EGR valve that would stick open and made the car stall suddenly at traffic lights. The owner Paul Meeker did solve it without hesitation. I drove pretty far to get to Lextech, but it was worth it. They did an oil change for me and checked a slow leak on a tire, showing me that it had a nail in it and explaining what happened and why I needed two new tires. They gave me a price on the job including two Michelin tires. I got a second opinion and they gave me a quote for the same price for two Hankook tires which are rated lower performance than the Michelin. I went with the Michelin of course and drove back today to get my tires fixed and it was great service again. They also explained to me what they recommended verses what the dealership recommends. It was really great to get the knowledge of how to care for my Lexus and have a place where I can do it for a reasonable price and not get ripped off (I don't feel like I can trust the dealership). I'll definitely go back to them for all my service from now on. read more

I have followed Lextech from their Sunset spot to this new location (which I learned is permanent!) They've always been really transparent and efficient. I don't know a lot about cars but my dad and brother impressed the basics on me enough to to where I can ask kind of informed questions and get good information from the guys at Lextech. This last visit I came in for an oil change and Paul the owner told me I didn't need it yet, which I respect and appreciate. I don't like thinking everyone's out to get you when it comes to mechanic business but I know car owners feel blind being told what is and isn't necessary for their cars.
