I came here after a concert at the 92nd Street Y. This place has an old school, authentic Italian restaurant feel which is a nice change from all the trendy restaurants. The service was 10/10. The staff have been working there a while and they were so friendly and fun to joke around with. Most importantly, the food was delicious. They didn't have a few things on the menu so I ended up getting the mushroom risotto. I absolutely loved it. So much flavor and it was a generous portion as you can see. read more

I love having a great restaurant in the neighborhood. While I'm a regular at Lex, this is my first review. There's a reason I come back. The service is exceptional! From the servers to the managers - everyone is completely attentive, always checking on us and bringing whatever we requested promptly. I'm giving the Lamb Shank over Risotto special for $49 a 10 out of 10. The meat literally fell off the bone and was so flavorful. The risotto was perfectly done with a little crunch and not mushy. Alfonso was spectacular, attentive and friendly, so eloquent and detailed describing the preparation of the specials and desserts. Water was refilled promptly, and fresh pepper and cheese were offered promptly when our entrees were served. Service was outstanding from the time we arrived until we left. Food. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented and wonderfully prepared. My extra dirty martini was shaken and served at the table with giant, delicious olives, exactly how I like. - Fried calamari. This lightly battered calamari was the best we've had. - Veal special. I have never ordered veal before, but the description given by Alfonso was so tempting I could not resist, and it did not disappoint- tender and flavorful with a light sauce that was perfect with the potatoes. - Pasta dishes. The takeout we have ordered and the penne pasta dish on our in-person visit were fantastic. - Dessert. Both desserts were mouth watering delicious and beautifully presented. Decided to come here since it was starting to rain and there was a nice outdoor seating set up since we were out with our two dogs. The outdoor seating is decorated with plants and with ample heating lamps for the cold weather. It had a sliding door so the heat was also kept in. They had a steady flow of people for their indoor seating on a Sunday morning. The service at the outdoor seating was slow but given it's outdoor it was a little expected. They seemed to push cocktails and came to ask if we wanted anything from the bar every time they came to serve the table. We ordered the French onion which was standard. We ordered the ravioli for the table and it was a favorite flavor wise though the dough was very thick and a little hard to chew. For entrees we got the Alfredo which was very al dente, the veal was well flavored but tough and it took shaking the entire table to cut it. The ribeye was cooked to medium rare but was very thin, but the quality of meat was a bit lacking. It had a grey look in person so wasn't the most appetizing. It seems to be a popular place for locals but unfortunately will not be a place I'd crave to go again. read more

My cuz suggested the nail salon next door and I wanted to surprise her with a birthday dinner afterwards and this spot couldn't have been more convenient. It had excellent reviews and it happened to be a spot she had been eyeing for awhile. The food was delicious and the service was on point. We will definitely be back to try new entrees. We celebrated a birthday here. It was a rainy night but the outdoor area was beautiful and cozy. Two waitstaff, an Ecuadorian guy and a Brazilian guy, took excellent care of us. I can't say enough good things about The Lex Restaurant. I was planning a birthday party with about 30 people, and I decided to make a last-minute change if I could find an alternative to the original location. Yesterday I walked into The Lex and basically said: "You're gonna think I'm crazy, but can you accommodate 30 people? tomorrow?" The manager didn't say "yes" right away, didn't say "no" right away - we went indoors and he figured it out. When we arrived this afternoon, the back part of the restaurant was set up for all of us. The wait staff and everyone was so accommodating, friendly and attentive. Everyone I invited was smiling the whole time, and everyone complimented both the food and the service. Those from the UES who didn't know The Lex all said they were so glad to have come here, and learn about another restaurant in the neighborhood. Thank you to the whole team for hosting us. My friend and I enjoyed dinner at Lex. The waiter, I'm sure a long time regular, launched into the specials of the day. It was a little comical because there were 21 of them. I don't mean this as a negative, just an amusement. This is a nice quiet, cozy, classy kind of restaurant with very good service. I had the eggplant Parmesan. It was up there with some of the best I've had eating out.The accompanying penne was perfectly cooked. My friend had a chicken dish she enjoyed. They were accommodating to give her vegetables in place of pasta. It is hard to get used to the prices of food these days & the higher prices are notable here. We have never ever been disappointed with Lex restaurant. We sat outside with a lovely table setting and the waiter had his mask on. I ordered veal parmesan which was delicious. My friend ordered a combo fish dish which he's always loved. My cappuccino was perfect along with our tartufo desert. We split our dessert but we will not do that again as it keeps on shrinking over the years! Though this one was one of the best I've ever had in the City. And the chef's presentation was lovely. This is my second experience I've had dining here & was another fabulous one! :) Called the day of for both dining experiences for a reservation for two, and received the time desired. This place is beautiful and TIMELESS.... has the feeling it's been there for years and it has been! The service is superb FINE DINING VIBES. The food comes out HOT and more than delicious. I LOVE that if you choose to share dishes they automatically split them in two(so convenient!). The mussels and sauce were so delightful we had to ask for a second round of bread just to soak up every last drop of the sauce. Since I'm doing dry January, womp womp I didn't get to have a martini this time around, but the last time was filled to the rim and perfect. A Friday nite around 7 was extremely busy every table full, Monday evening at 6 had the place almost to ourselves... looked like we beat the rush as when we left was more busy. Me and my best friend/ sister went to Lex Restaurant today and I was surprised how good the food was. I had penne alla vodka with salmon and it was very delicious. The waiters were all very nice and made sure our water goblet is always full. Lex is one of our favorite restaurants in NYC. Eggplant Parmesan, Eggplant Rolatini, and the special Shrimp and Ricotta ravioli are to die for. We're mostly vegetarian but occasionally have their wonderful seafood. The salads are complex, fresh and delicious. The entire wait staff is friendly, attentive, and professional. Over the time we have come regularly, we have come to adore them. The ambiance is warm and inviting and sometimes we sit in their very comfortable and enjoyable outdoor dining area decorated with plants. Desserts are great -- the apple tart with ice cream, brownie with ice cream, and creme brulee are our favorites. You can't go wrong here!! read more

Absolutely perfection. This place deserves a Michelin Star. The service is phenomenal -- specially from Felipe. They are friendly, professional and know the menu by memory. It's unbelievable. The food? You might ask, the best pasta I've ever tried in my life. Not even in Italy I've tried such an amazing pasta.
