I honestly can't say enough good things about this medical practice. I saw Dr Holmbeck this summer…read more(June 2016) after having pain in my heel while running. A quick check of symptoms on the internet and I suspected plantar fasciitis. I tried some at home remedies for a few weeks and had no improvement, in fact it got worse. My job as a nanny also has me on my feet most of the day. I had insurance but was on an HMO and the network I was in couldn't get me into a specialist for almost 3 months. I was in too much pain to wait that long. In 2010 I had an amazing and unbelievably affordable experience with Ankle N Foot Centers (West Town) after fracturing my ankle while unemployed and uninsured (see story below). So based on my previous positive experience with Ankle N Foot Centers, I called Ankle N Foot Centers in the W Loop (close to work and home) to see about cost if I came in and paid out of pocket for an appointment, X-rays, etc. Just as I had experienced in the past they got me in right away (within 2-3 days) and their costs were upfront and totally affordable for someone paying out of pocket. About $400 for an exam, in office X-ray with almost instant images/results, cortisone shot, orthotics for my shoes and a follow up appointment. I saw Dr Holmbeck who was patient, listened, he was thorough with his exam and questions for me and just really nice. He explained that sometimes a second shot was needed as well as some ultrasound therapy if symptoms returned. I felt so much better within 48 hours after the shot. I did require a second shot about 6 weeks later and in office physical therapy for the heel (I know this was my fault for not heeding the warning about how bad flip flops are for your feet, especially when dealing with plantar fasciitis).Again, after the 2 be shot and first treatment out of 6 PT sessions I again felt great within 48 hours. This time I took their advice and swore off flip flops. By my 2nd appointment I had switched to a PPO with BCBS and my insurance was accepted by the office. During my visits for physical therapy Dr Holmbeck always came in to check in and ask about symptoms, results, and concerns. He genuinely took time once again to listen and answer any questions. On one occasion during PT Dr Hernandez was the doctor working that night. She also came in with my file, was informed on why I was there and asked and answered questions. Dr Hernandez also recommended a great brand of flip flops that did not look like old lady shoes which were also good for your feet. Bought 2 pairs on Zappos that night and they got me through summer without looking like I was wearing my grandmother's shoes and. The assistants who do the ultrasound therapy are so nice and professional, just really great guys. Chase at the front desk who handles scheduling and billing in the West Loop office is always awesome. He follows up when he says he will, works really hard to get you appointments that work around your work schedule. They have evening hours a few nights a week. The way this office is run and the treatment of the patients by the doctors should be a model for doctors everywhere. I am back to running, putting in more mileage than ever before and cross training with zero issues. This is all thanks to the doctors and staff at Ankle N Foot Centers. I first became familiar with the Ankle N Foot Centers about 6-7 years ago. While uninsured I tripped and hurt my ankle really badly in a class at the gym. I went to urgent care, they did X-rays and said it was just a bad sprain. 6-7 weeks later after being on crutches I was seeing no improvement. I called Ankle N Foot Center on Chicago Ave in West Town and Inquired on costs of services, etc if I came in to have my Ankle looked at. I was shocked at how affordable their services were considering I had no insurance. I saw Dr Elizabeth KurtZ. She is no longer with the practice because she moved out of state. They did X-rays in office that day for about $100 (compared to the $400 at urgent care just weeks before). Dr KurtZ discovered my ankle was actually not sprained but fractured in 2 spots. Urgent care never caught the fractures on their X-rays. Dr KurtZ and the staff at the West Town office took great care of me. I was given a boot to walk in for about 8 weeks. Afterwards I wore a splint/brace for about 8 weeks. I went in for check ups on progress throughout the time I wore the boot and splint/brace. Dr KurtZ really made sure I was doing well and progressing as I should be since I was up and around on the fractures for so long before discovering that was the real issue. My ankle healed beautifully and I have had no issues since. All in, the total cost to me without insurance for all services during the several months of treatment cost me less than $600. To me this was so affordable for the quality of care that I received and the excellent end results I had without having insurance at the time.

SCAMMERS! Would give 0 stars if I could. Came in for a new patient appointment, was not made aware…read moreon the phone that I didn't need to even be seen for this issue then was told no information in the actual appointment. Front desk woman didn't even greet me was rude and on the phone arguing with someone and now I know why. Wait for the doctor was at least 15 mins when there was no one in there. Whole appointment was a waste of time. They try to sell you their products and then auto charge your card without you agreeing to it. Terrible service when a business just tries to make money rather than telling someone they don't need something.

I just completed my PT sessions at Rush PT, Union Station. I am ready to resume normal activities,…read morethanks to the personalized sessions created by Colton. If I ever have the need to return, I will certainly seek out this facility. Colton and Katrina helped me recover, and made sure I felt welcomed and comfortable. I have attended PT at various other facilities in the past, and Rush @ Union Station was by far the best, overall.

I recently had Video Gait Analysis done with Jason to see if my running form was contributing to my…read moreIT band pain. I am currently being seen by Omar at the clinic on Wabash to address my IT issues, which stem from my weak hips, weak glutes and bad balance. I'd been meaning to get gait analysis done forever, but hadn't gotten around to it. And wow, I'm glad that I got it done! All you runners out there that haven't gotten it done should!! The video does not lie. And, you can't see yourself running (unless you or someone else films you) and let's be honest, when you're racing, you might not be thinking about your form as much as you need to. With me, I'm thinking about the time and finishing as fast as I can. The process went as such: Jason evaluated me as I ran through a series of tests. He them filed me walking on the treadmill and then he filmed me as I ran. I ran at a comfortable pace and ran as I normally would. He then went over the film with me and pointed out some key issues. For me, when I land, my left leg comes out to the side and I land on the outside of my foot. My left knee drops in too. Not good. Also, my kick is not going far back enough, which causes me to land way too far out instead of landing underneath my hips. Again, this is in part due to my weak hips. But, there are things I can do to work on form, which I will try. I have yet to get my report and go over it with my PT. I look forward to reviewing it and making whatever changes I can. Bottom line: if you are a runner get gait analysis done! You won't regret it!

"The Gift of Healing Hands..." I've been seeing physical therapist, Amy Elliott, for eight weeks…read morenow following an auto accident that left me severely banged up with a lower back and neck injury. From my very first visit with Amy, I knew I'd found the best and right person to help me through my healing process. Amy's touch was light upon the areas where I had the greatest pain; yet, she knew intuitively which areas to apply the most pressure. Since I've been seeing Amy, my back pain has decreased significantly and my neck mobility has increased greatly. My primary care doctor was really pleased and said it looks like I won't have to have injections because I'm improving so well. What I also enjoy about my visits to ARC Physical Therapy is how soothed my body feels afterwards. Plus, it really helps a lot that Amy also makes me laugh while I'm there. I recommend ARC Physical Therapy to anyone in need of an incredible massage or someone to assist your body through its healing journey.
