Be warned, the "estimated total cost" they quote you at the desk on the day of your procedure will likely only account for roughly 50-60% of what they will eventually charge you. I recommend choosing a different provider that is more transparent with their billing process unless you enjoy unexpected invoices for hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars months after you've already paid. It's also worth nothing that their "billing department" is simply an overseas call center so should you want to discuss these discrepancies, you're out of luck as they're equipped for little more than reciting a script and regurgitating the same figures you've already seen on your bill. read more

Had a STAT MRI on Ap 30. Drove an hour and a half for her to tell me insurance wasnt back yet and my ONLY option was to pay cash.I had social services call and let them know they would pay for it and desk girl said no you have to be here. I had to pay cash that I could not afford. They said no problem we will refund, social service sent them the money and they are....MULLING IT OVER????? she told me it would be another 45 days!!! run from this place....the billing department is horrific, its july...14 calls to billing and no refund..so they have my money, ss money in their greedy hands....terrible..zero stars read more

I have been trying to receive a MRI from Simon med for the last month. The disconnect that the call center and the actual offices have is terrible. I call to make the appt after my doctor gives me the order, I am told by call center to email or walk the order in with me on the day of appt. I do this just to be told they have to reschedule my appt. twice this has happened to me. I am almost ready to give up. I have to take anxiety medication to take these tests, and each time I thought I was going to take the MRI, after I have taken the meds, just to get denied when I walk in. The call center and the actual offices are in two different worlds. I like the machine because it is big, and overall the employees are wonderful, but what I have to go through to get there makes me what to go elsewhere, please Simon med get it together. read more

Incredible MRI facility! Frank and Toinette are kind and helpful. I've had claustrophobia for years, but needed a brain MRI, which I've never been able to get through in the past because of the claustrophobia. It was a breeze at SimonMed! The machine has plenty of room, and the mask that goes over your head(for brain scans) has eye holes that you can see through. There is a mirror positioned over your eyes so you can see a screen behind you that shows images you can select, like beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers...just relaxing stuff. For the first time in my life I got through a scan without the slightest bit of anxiety! If you have claustrophobia, or the MRI machines stress you out, come to SimonMed in Streeterville, it's so much better than any other facility I've been to.​ read more

Pros - Costs a lot less and got a nice rebate from my insurance company. With my copay, before the rebate even, I saved a bit over $200. Were able to schedule me in much faster than the regular MRI affiliated with my doc's practice. People were super friendly both on the phone and in person. Really A+ here. Cons - worst parking lot (it is free/fully validated) I think I've ever encountered, it's SO tight, was built in like 1985 or something and if you have an SUV you're going to be worried about scraping the sides/wheels going up or down every level or just parking as the spaces are super tight with lots of concrete posts as well. Entry and exit lanes to/from the street were also super narrow. - idk much about MRIs but this one was a tube they sort of slide you into, I didn't have to go all the way in but like 80% of the way, so maybe it's semi-open? If I was having my head scanned and had to put that inside I would not want to use this one. They give you headphones w classical music playing. - changing room is a little run down/dingy, needed a bit of cleaning. read more

Excellent care of patients. Careful consideration of patient comfort. Radiologist's report was the most complete I have ever seen. The cost was the lowest of all the places I contacted. The technician was careful to take more sets of views to compensate for my spine curvature. My surgeon was impressed with the quality and orientation of the views. I would be very happy to use them again. They have my highest recommendation. read more

First of all, it is one of the few places you can get in for your MRI quickly. Everything from the scheduling through the procedure is top notch. The people are so helpful, kind, and professional. This place is amazing. While an OPEN MRI is not nearly as scary as the coffin (aka - closed MRI), I was very nervous since I had to have an arhrogram with it. Which is a giant needle they put into your already sore joint. While I can't lie and say it wasn't painful, the caring and very kind staff really made it as best as it could get. They were so reassuring, very sweet and funny as well. Very professionl staff, clean and cozy environment. If you have to suffer through an MRI do your best to sweet talk your doc into letting you have an OPEN MRI and come here :) They also got me in quickly where other MRI places took weeks and will have the results to my doctor the very next day. read more

I love Streeterville Open MRI Center! :) I walked in with my extremely paranoid, claustrophobic self, and walked out feeling like "That was a breeze!" The two women I interacted with (Barb and Donna) were so nice, and Donna was an amazing MRI Technician (I'm not sure of her actual job title). She communicated with me so beautifully throughout the whole procedure, telling me what was going to happen and for how long, and she totally put me at ease. Plus, she let me listen to my 80's radio station, which helped relax me further. It was not scary, and an open MRI is definitely the way to go if your doctor allows it. When you need an MRI, here are some important things to know and consider. The quality of the imaging equipment and the imaging protocol varies between MRI centers, as do the staff, and the radiologists contracted for reading the images. When you're lucky, you'll find all of that in one place: Streeterville Open MRI. Streeterville Open MRI "has it all" -- Top notch equipment: Hitachi Airis II ; Good imaging protocol (you should be on the table a while) ; Wonderful staff ; The best radiologist for my needs (Dr. Linda Dew, whom I request whenever possible). Appointments are pretty easy to make. The staff is amazing and makes you feel as comfortable as possible. Free parking is available (get the directions on where to enter) and you never have to set foot outside between the MRI center and the parking lot -- just be sure to get your free parking validation at the MRI center desk. Don't assume the prescribing doctor necessarily knows the best place or radiologist for your MRI, or that a hospital radiology department is best. I've experienced both to be fallacious. I've had more than a few MRIs in recent years. I never knew how vast the differences between MRI centers and the radiologists could be. Ignorance was bliss. For instance: I just had to repeat a post-surgical double MRI because the imaging center and radiologist the prescribing doctor assured me was good failed to do a good job and to provide the information needed. The equipment was dated, the protocol was lacking (I was off the table in half the time it should have taken), they didn't provide good imaging (not the best image resolution), and they failed to provide a thorough report and comparative reading against the MRI done prior to corrective surgery. The report they issued noted a sizable tendon tear -- the exact size and location of the surgical repair. The radiologist hadn't paid attention to the order notes about the surgical repair and comparison request, and provided no comparative reading and report. It was a complete waste of time, energy, and resources. One month later, I had the post-surgical double MRI repeated at Streeterville Open MRI, and read by Dr. Dew. The report from Streeterville Open MRI not only included the comparative reading, it showed an important item that first place/radiologist had completely missed. read more

My doctor ordered an MRI with anthrogram (dye injection) and after reading horror stories on the internet I was sufficiently terrified of the giant needle. Luckily, the staff at Streeterville Open MRI was fabulous...they made me feel very comfortable and the injection was as easy as that kind of thing gets. Making an appointment was very easy, and they had a report for my doctor the very next day. Getting an MRI is by no means fun, but the experience was as smooth as I could imagine it being. This is a wonderful MRI facility. The staff are all helpful, personable and most accommodating. Barb went out of her way to make sure all the requested reports were sent on time and took care of all the other details. Donna made me most comfortable during the MRI, providing pillows and music. I recently made an appointment at Streeterville Open MRI and could not be more happy with the service! Jenna was so patient with all my questions, offered fantastic suggestions, gave me a same day appointment, and helped me navigate what can be a messy and confusing insurance process. The center gives you a CD of your images when you leave and has your report ready the next business day, which is tremendous and such a better turn around time than I have experienced when working through the hospital system. I am extremely claustrophobic and didn't even want to make the call to schedule an appointment. Right from the beginning I knew this was the place. The staff was so helpful and patient, answering all my questions and concerns. They even walked me through the website and gave me a detailed idea of just how close I would be to the magnet, how long it would take and even explained the time frame between each scan. They added extra time to my appointment to foresee and freak out I may or may not have. The place itself is cozy and inviting and the staff did not disappoint. They were just as friendly in person and I immediately felt at ease. Plus my results were sent to my doctor same day!!! If I ever need an MRI, I definitely know where I will be going. read more
