DO NOT GO HERE! Above and beyond all of the problems mentioned by the other patient reviewers on Yelp (that this seems to be a fly-by-night, inappropriately regulated facility) you may NEVER get the results of your MRI - so going here is WORTHLESS and POINTLESS. I went here to get MRIs done on 3/31/17 and despite both me and my orthopaedic surgeon's office calling non-stop, e-mailing, contacting the office manger, regional rep, etc., I still have not gotten, nor has my doctor gotten, the report regarding my MRI's. I have contacted the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (https://www.idfpr.com/Admin/DPR/Complaint.asp) and I am in the process of contacting any/all relevant regulatory authorities in regard to this inadequate facility. I suggest that others do the same. This place should be shut down in my opinion. I will never go here again. In filling out the complaint form, I filed it against the business/facility (you enter the business name in the "Last name/business name section on the online form) and then select "Medical corporation under "profession." Here is what I wrote: This facility will not communicate with patient/customers post MRI. I have been contacting them via telephone and e-mail since my visit on March 31, 2017, to obtain the reports from a knee and hip MRI and have been unable to obtain them. If you view their ratings/comments on YELP (Advanced Medical Imaging Center) you will see that this is a systemic/ongoing problem and issue for this facility. My doctor's office was also UNABLE to obtain the MRIs/reports in order to review them with me at the time of my appointment 4/18/2017. This is medically dangerous and breaches the standard of care in that the date of my injury was 3/8/17 and I have no idea what the results of the MRI are due to the lack of care and customer service provided by this facility/health care corporation and its staff. read more

New management hasn't helped. One month since my x-ray and no results (and no bill). Exam room was highly unsanitary. Scanner appeared to be held together with masking tape. I plan to complain to the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. Do not go here. read more

Wow. This place has gone waaaaaay downhill. I've been going here for my mammograms for years, and it used to be fabulous. (Heated robes, stellar techs, quick results, etc.) This year, not so much. First, I should have known something changed when they rescheduled my screening mammogram 3 times because their mammography machine was broken. Then, during my visit, the facility looks run down, HIPAA violations with the front desk staff on the phone discussing people's names and procedures, not the most skilled technicians, etc. Next year, I'm asking my doc for a referral somewhere else. ANYWHERE else. read more

In 2017, management changed. This is reflected in the administrative services received, appointment scheduling, and waiting times. The services themselves are excellent and the results of your tests are usually available to your referring physician within 48 hours of the completion of your test. I still highly recommend AMIC for its location and quality of its imaging, just be persistent in calling for your appointment, and do not wait for the promised call back. You will not get one in a reasonable period of time. read more

Breaking bones is a painful experience. Getting simple X-rays shouldn't be. I made an appointment with AMIC and arrived early to fill out paperwork with my one good arm. After an hour of waiting past my appointment time, to accept walk-ins, I was finally seen by the technician. She was fine, though clueless as to whether or not the radiologist was on site... How do you not know if the radiologist is or isn't in the office? After she offered no help in getting in and out of the gown after the X-rays (again, broken bones) I wandered back out to the waiting room, since I had no more instructions and not a soul was around. Again, no one at the front knew where he was, but assured me my results would be sent to my doctor within 24 hours. That was Wednesday. It's now Tuesday. No call, no update, no Saturday hours, and no one to even answer the phone the several times my doctor and I have called. TL;DR- AMIC refuses to give me my X-ray results, so I get to continue to miss work, delay treatment, and enjoy the agony of broken bones. read more

Terrible office. I had an X-ray over a year ago. As soon as I received the bill, I paid it in full. Now a year later, I got a letter from a collection agency saying they have not received payment. What? I called the office. She searched the records and, sure enough, she found that my bill was payed. Don't send things to collections if the bill has been paid!!!! That can effect people's credit scores and effect their lives!!! Horrible. read more

I called to get a copy of my imaging. I'm appalled that they charge $35 for the images & an additional $35 for documents. I only paid for my images. Ridiculous. Then when I stated I would pick them up they were not ready! Unbelievable! I specifically made a special trip to the city for my records and then had to wait for them. Thank goodness there was a gentleman that overheard my dismay and proceeded to go to the records office to expedite my order. The receptionist was kind as well...she's only following procedure to charge. My dentist that is in the same building didn't charge to send me my records to me that included my x-rays. Why is this different? read more

This place is just horrible. I had 2 imaging studies done there and they sent them to a collection agency when they were paid in full. Just ridiculous and a waste of my time. There billing dept is non responsive. Instead, I am getting harassed by bill collectors for something that is paid in full. Will never do business with this company again. read more

Don't go here. I paid a co-pay the day I received service. Months later I received a collection notice for an outstanding balance for which they never even billed me. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of disputing so I paid the bill immediately. Three months later I get yet another bill for the same amount from another collection agency. This place is shady. read more

If you have a choice, do not go here. It will be a hassle and most importantly, you may be misdiagnosed. In May I noticed a lump on my arm just a couple of days before I was supposed to leave the country for a few weeks. I saw a GP who said that I needed an ultrasound to determine whether it was a cyst or something else, and that if I wanted to get it done before I left my best bet was AMIC because they have the best availability (red flag?). She warned me that other patients had complained about the customer service. I figured that shabby treatment was fine; I just wanted to get this taken care of. So I called AMIC and set up an appointment for the following morning. I then noticed the 1.5-star Yelp rating and steeled myself for a wild ride. It's a depressing and dated-looking place for sure, but looks aren't everything, right? The two women working at the front desk were very nice to me, which I was not expecting based on some other reviews. Because I hadn't hit my deductible, my share for the ultrasound was around $150. I waited and waited while others got called and someone finally came and got me, an hour past my appointment time. No big deal. Then the problems became more substantive and bothersome. There was a big commotion between the tech and someone else about whether I was getting a soft tissue ultrasound (as ordered) or a "venous" ultrasound (what the person at the front desk mistakenly entered in the system). I insisted that it was a soft tissue ultrasound and showed them the original doctor's order (which they had a copy of but did not think to consult); otherwise who knows how long they would have been confused about it. So eventually the tech started the correct procedure. The lump on my arm was only visible when I bent my wrist a certain way. Instead of marking the spot when I was in the right position (foreshadowing!), the tech proceeded to ask me about 10 times to "show it to her again" while she struggled to do whatever she was doing, clamping down harder and harder each time. She did not seem totally coherent and kept asking me if I "bumped" my wrist (no). She vaguely alluded to seeing something "in the muscles" but did not elaborate. Great! Eventually she told me to clean myself up (those words, shoving a napkin at me) and it was over. I go on vacation and a few days later, the GP sends me the report from the radiologist. It says that NOTHING was found in the images. No mass or area of abnormal echogenicity identified. The GP was confused because she saw the lump and it clearly existed. The GP contacted AMIC and the radiologist gave her some garbage explanation about how maybe it's a cyst mixed in with a tendon because those things are the same "material." The GP decided to order an MRI but insurance did not want to pay based on the negative ultrasound and my lack of pain. At this point I ditch everyone involved and refer myself to a specialist at Northwestern. I told him about the insanity of AMIC (pretty sure I said "there's nothing Advanced about it") and he offered me a repeat ultrasound or MRI. I chose ultrasound because it's cheaper and because I just knew that the terrible AMIC tech and/or radiologist missed an obvious mass. I really knew in my heart that the second ultrasound would work. I went to Northwestern's imaging center for the repeat ultrasound and had the complete opposite experience. The Northwestern tech immediately marked the spot with a pen so she wouldn't lose it. She found the area of concern quickly and would not quit until she got fantastic images. Then, wonder of wonders, a radiologist immediately came to speak with me about what he saw. In contrast to what AMIC said, there was something there, and it wasn't a cyst mixing in with tendons. It turns out I had a vascular tumor that was thankfully benign, as predicted by the Northwestern radiologist and physician. I opted for surgery and am doing great, no thanks to AMIC. I may be out $150 for no reason but I'm just glad I had the option to seek care elsewhere. Please choose another facility if you can! read more

RUN AWAY. This was the most terrifying experience I have ever had at a hospital/medical procedure. Incredibly unprofessional, unsanitary, and plain disappointing. The facility is outdated. They should be out of business. Several reasons why: 1) When I scheduled my appointment, I was told that I will get a call well before my appointment confirming that the tests I was doing are covered by insurance. I did not get that. I had to call myself 2) I arrived and the front desk person was very rude. I asked her if there was a note about insurance and she said, I don't handle that, you need figure it out yourself 3) I waited 1 hour to be taken in, when I was taken in I was told that the reason for the delay in my test was that whoever scheduled me wrote that I was pregnant ( I am not) and that they were trying to figure that out. Next the technician told me she just started working there and that she does not like it and that the scheduling people are terrible 4) I had another test scheduled. I had to leave in the middle of it because I was getting poked by needles without the gloves or sanitation. There were 4 other people in the room and I knew that this place is not safe. read more

0 stars. (This might appear with one if I'm forced to grant one in order to submit this review.) No longer making appointments for mammography. Got a run-around for months, beginning in June 2018, about machine needing repairs and advising me to call back. In October I gave up and scheduled elsewhere. I've been waiting three weeks for my records from AMIC to be sent to me. So far, nothing. This is important, because comparing current imagery with previous imagery is a vital part of identifying changes that could be life-threatening. How sad that what was once a great place has been sucked dry and spat out by the "people" who took over. read more

Slow, behind on appointments (only 9am and I've been waiting 30min past my appt time - this is the 3rd appt I've had to make), awful at communicating with patients, technicians will call off but they won't call and let people with appts know (not only did this happen to me but I saw it happen to others with different technicians). I am going to tell my doctor to stop referring people here. read more

Customer service is despicably bad. Called multiple times to set up an appointment. One day I got through and was told the technician is booked for that day, and then they hung up on me. Called multiple times in subsequent days, no one picked up the phone nor did they return my voicemails. I need to get in to the clinic for an important test, yet AMIC has made it impossible to get the test done there. AWFUL - STAY AWAY!!! Would give zero stars if I could. read more

The customer service and organization provided by the staff here is awful to say the least. Just today I've tried to call at least 10x to hear if they have forwarded my MRI images and results to my surgeon and no one will even pick up the phone. While I was there waiting for my MRI another woman came in, and informed them there must be an issue with their phones as she was put on hold twice for 20 minutes and then hung up on, to which the staff replied, 'no no issue with the phone, must be your phone what do you need..' Seriously? These are people seeking healthcare and having procedures done to identify potentially serious ailments and illnesses and you can't have the decency to simply be polite, accommodating and decent? After I finally get in touch with this helpless individuals to have them send over my MRI images I will absolutely never return and would be willing and happy to drive much further out of my way if it means I don't have to see these incompetent receptionists ever again. read more

Terrible experience. Showed up on time for appointment at 3:30. Door to office was locked with the lights on inside. No answer on phone, no one in office. Until 2 weeks ago, I would have given AMIC a glowing review. However ... Two weeks ago I had an appointment for a routine mammogram but about an hour before I was to be there it occurred to me I didn't have an "order" from my doc and called to see if she had sent it electronically (she did!). While on the phone the receptionist told me they had to cancel my appointment because the machine was broken. Hmmm -- they have 3 telephone numbers for me: home, work, mobile. It was ONE HOUR before I was to be there - and if I had driven in from home I would have been extremely upset. Lucky for them it's only about a 4 block walk from my office. We rescheduled for today at 12:15 (they took me at 12:45). No biggie. In the 30 minutes I was sitting in reception, two elderly (80's for sure) women came in. One had an appointment and she had a friend with her. She checked in and sat down and the receptionist came over with some papers for her to fill out. Which the lady brought back to her when finished. Then the receptionist came back to let her know they would have to reschedule the test because the radiologist was called out of the building and they could not do her scan without the doctor on the premises. This poor little old frail lady was very upset. Which in turn upset me. Since I was sitting there and overheard the whole thing I suggested she ask to speak to the manager of the facility. The lady said she was too sick and too tired to talk to anyone. I then called the main number for AMIC while sitting there and left a voicemail for the manager "Ashley" suggesting she might want to come to the lobby and talk with the woman about a serious problem. Guess what? Ashley appeared. This lady wanted her taxi fare reimbursed (as if that'll ever happen) and told Ashley she would go elsewhere because she couldn't trust AMIC the next time. Then I told Ashley my story about 2 weeks ago and that they have 3 numbers for me and nobody called. Told her maybe she should find out who on the staff is not doing their job. Ashley gave a very fake smile and thanked me for my feedback. The place has recently been remodeled and it's very nice. Perhaps the staff needs additional training to get it right. Anyway - I just needed to vent. read more

Unfortunately this is one of the few stand alone imaging centers in Chicago. I had an order for two diagnostic tests. Scheduling seemed easy, but the day of my appointment they called to say that they do not perform one of the two tests. That would have been nice to know several weeks prior when I made the appointment. I decided to go and get the one done anyway. I showed up and they said they made a mistake and that they could do both tests. Luckily that error worked in my favor. Then they said they didn't have the doctor's orders for the tests, so I should call and have them faxed over. (Pro tip: take a copy of the doctor's orders with you because this office will lose them). After straightening that situation out, I was told to change into a gown in one room, then walk to the imaging area. Not a big deal except they have an open office area with large windows where the people working can watch the patients get paraded through in their gowns. Not a huge deal, but a bit awkward and shows the lack of attention to patient privacy. The staff seemed fine other than two of them chatting about their weekend while I'm getting x-rayed. I thought that was the end of the ordeal until a week later when my doctor's office called saying they haven't received the results of my test yet. I have no idea what the issue is there because the two offices dealt with that. Overall I had a pretty poor experience. Hope this was an isolated incident. read more

I am only reviewing post-MRI services. The services provided to me during my MRI visit were great. After the MRI I was told that the reports would be faxed to my physician within 24 hours - fast forward a week later and my physician still does not have the MRI report. I attempted calling them probably 10 times (both front desk and medical records department), and no one answered. Will continue to stalk them ... they either need more people resources working at this office or the ones who already work there aren't doing their job. read more

I asked to speak to the radiologist. I can't tell you how amazing it was to have a responsive and attentive physician who was interested to know about all aspects of my treatment, not just reading a picture. Not only did he give me a copy of my exam, but he gave me the report as well.....I wish my primary care was as invested in my treatment as he was. Can't recommend more. read more

I have had my spinal CT scans, MRIs and other tests performed at this site for over ten years. They have consistently been professional, caring, and attentive during my tests. In the aftermath of a hip fracture, my orthopedic surgeon suggested I get a bone density test, seeing as how I was relatively young to have such an injury which would seem to suggest osteoporosis. Well, in the course of recuperating, and just living my life, I manage to slough off the need for such a test. I finally bit the bullet and made an appointment at AMIC for this procedure to be done. It would've saved me a lot of trouble if they'd told me they needed an order from the physician, and...I don't know...say followed up with me 24 hours before I was scheduled to come in if in fact they needed said note and hadn't yet obtained it. Instead, I had to go through all of the paperwork while the woman at the check-in desk called my surgeon's office to get the order that was so desparately needed. I guess I could've paid for this out of pocket, but I am perplexed as to why there was not record on any of my orthopedic surgeon's documents that I needed a bone density test, since he made a point of saying at a couple of junctures in my treatment that this is something I should get done. Instead, the phone was passed over the desk, and I had to talk with someone at the doctor's office right then and there to try to sort this out. It was in the waiting room, no less, so that everyone could overhear. Totally unprofessional and a waste of my time. read more

Stay away. After going NPO since 6AM I showed up for my 2PM appointment at about 1:40. I may have been hallucinating from starvation and dehydration, but by around 3PM I saw skeletons in the waiting room. Periodically, a dirigible sporting a lamp shade floated past. Then a toilet overflowed, and the Keystone Clown Car ferried in the bucket brigade, apparently knocking the CT scanner out of commission in the process. A couple of techs skedaddled, leaving a hapless receptionist to manage the increasingly agitated survivors. As the remaining few became more agitated, the receptionist asked us if we wanted to reschedule. She suggested we start the process on their available "Dear Santa..." forms. No manager was onsite, available by phone, or pager. They had no business cards. I would like to begin my review by saying that the service I received while in the office and during my procedure was wonderful. The ultrasound tech was very friendly and attentive, as were those working the front desk. Based on in-office service only, I would definitely return to AMIC for any imaging services I would need in the future. However, the reason for this 1-star review is the ridiculous billing process I have been through in order to get my claims submitted correctly to my insurance company. The initial claim was rejected because insurance "could not identify the patient" - I was worried I had given AMIC some incorrect information, so I called to check and make sure that they had everything in their system correctly. They did, but the "could not identify patient" rejection was received 3 more times after subsequent resubmissions. I finally took the initiative and submitted the claim myself - it was received successfully and partially processed, but apparently the paperwork I had received from AMIC was lacking a particular code that insurance needed to fully process the claim. I called AMIC - and it took another 2 tries before that code was correctly submitted to the insurance company. Just when I thought we had made strides, the insurance company denied the claim because too much time had passed between date of service and processing. Not wanting to deal with AMIC billing again, I called my insurance company directly and they were able to adjust the claims and resubmit them. At this moment in time, my insurance company is now having issues processing due to "duplicate claims" - which would have never been an issue had the initial submissions been performed correctly (I would not have had to submit a separate claim myself). I initiated a 3 way call with my insurance company & AMIC to resolve the "duplicate claims" issue - the ball is in AMIC's court at the moment, but I do not have high expectations for the pending actions to be completed correctly. It has been almost 11 months since my first date of service, and these claims in question are still pending. I was informed part of the way through this process that AMIC had outsourced their billing services - I am not sure if my claims were simply lost in the transition, or if this is just a case of straight up incompetence. I say this because I had to return to AMIC for a 3rd (and final) follow up appointment fairly recently, and I am waiting to see if that claim gets processed without incident. If the 3rd claim is successfully received and processed on the first try, then maybe previous claims were an unfortunate victim of the movement to outsourcing - but regardless - once a problem is detected it should NOT take that many resubmissions and phone calls to get a claim correctly submitted. Customer service doesn't end with the office visit! read more

The only reason I am giving them one star, is because Yelp doesn't let me give 0. Due to my insurance, this is one of the only places I can go for CT scans and MRIs. I don't know why they offer appointments if they completely disregard them and go on a first come first serve basis. I made an 8:30 appointment, showed up at 8, and was not seen until close to 10. In addition, I never receive a bill. They have taken me to collections twice and every single time I state, "can I just receive a bill." Lastly, getting your test results takes months. It is one of the worst run facilities in Chicago. read more

Trump will bring back their smiles. But Mimi was my X-ray tech and did a great job of taking a bunch of x-rays and putting up with my quirky sense of humor. My doctor wrote me a prescription to get an MRI at this business. I called several times during the day and no one picked up. Since they have posted hours till 7pm I called after 6pm. They never called back and later the next day I called them. I work across the street, so it was convenient to go to them. I told the receptionist what happened and wanted to make an appointment. I told her I would be using Medicare and she said they don't take it. I explained that on their website and on Medicare.Gov they are listed as an approved vendor. Both equipment reliability and customer service completely unacceptable. My wife had a mammogram scheduled for mid-August and they called to say machine was down and she had to reschedule. I got impatient and went to front. No one again was there. I had to call and hit multiple options before someone answered. Shocker only Billing did. They tracked her down and she comes back and says. Your ready now? I said i have been waiting for your sheet. She said she didn't know what insurance i had but to go on back. Well one why was i waiting. Two the info is right on the card. So after being there 35 min i took my script and called the supervisor. Again only Billing Answered. I didn't write a review of this office, even when I showed up for my mammogram appointment and they told me they couldn't find me in the system..then said that the team that handled mammograms was actually a different company and that they had all just suddenly shut down (stopped showing up) and left no record of pending appointments. Yeah, even then I didn't complain publicly. Flash forward and I now need a copy of my mammograms to forward to a competent operation (I need a follow up on something abnormal - no stress, right?) I have called four times over the course of more than a week, spoken to two different people and left multiple messages and not a single person from medical records will reply to my request. This review is for the Wabash location in Chicago. The technician rushed through my procedure. It was apparent she was getting off work. She failed to give me my medical documents. It was just an overall bad experience. The disturbing part of this company is what occurred after my appointment, which should be a concern for anyone who chooses to come to this location - I went back to their office, for a question. The staff were all gone, but the doors were open and the lights were on. I walked through this facility looking for staff and saw patients files, personal records and films all spreaded out for the public to see ! I was in disbelief that no one was there, but yet anyone could just stroll through and look through your medical records, accounts, etc. I do not know how their other locations operate. Horrible. They cancelled my appointment the day before it was scheduled because their "new equipment wasn't up and running yet." I tried to call back but their mailbox was full. A day before my appointment they left me a voicemail saying there'd be no x-ray, only MRI, although I had scheduled both weeks in advance and they had insisted on this particular day. Then, the MRI tech was asking me why exactly I needed the MRI both with and without contrast (because that's what my doctor asked for!). She's asking me all these medical questions so that *she* can decide whether I really need an MRI with contrast.
