Cut limbs now laying on the Cable/Phone line.
    Jerome P.

Lewis Tree Service has destroyed the Scrub Oak trees that I have in my backyard from power line trimming done in Englewood FL yesterday. This 'company' was contracted by Florida Power & Light for tree trimming within the easements that FPL is granted in every property in Florida. Fine. State Law requires that FPL that if a property is on a 'main supplying line' (mine is) that FPL is REQUIRED to trim every 3yrs or inspect such line for hanging branches. The last time FPL's contractor caused damage to my trees was 9yrs ago. FPL does NOT follow state regulations with regard to tree trimming. I've called at least 6 times since the last trimming in 2011. I finally received 'confirmation' that that FPL will be out to my property within 'several weeks'. That was 18 months ago. So Lewis Tree Service appears Saturday and destroyed the nests of Scrub Jays, which are Federally Protected, but only between March 1 and June 1 each year. I pointed to 'foreman' that were at least 7 bird nests and squirrel nests. I happen to love wildlife. Lewis Tree Service apparently DOES NOT. Yes it is true that Lewis Tree Service is not in my opinion a 'caring, wildlife lover' as we are. But there is NO excuse to leave 4 foot long limbs dangling in the tree, disregard for what homeowners ask. Simply put? One of my trees? Looks exactly like a 'Nightmare on Elm Street' tree. Simply wrong. I blame both Lewis Tree Service and Florida Power & Light.

Another wack and hack by Lewis tree service

I would give this place a minus 5 if I could they were contracted by Med Ed to trim trees near power lines. I have had my 2-trees trimmed a few times and whoever did it them times dis a pretty good job but not sure what service did it. This time after they were done to my shock when I left the house the whole left side of both trees was gone every major limb gone. There is zero chance of regrowth on 2- 40 year old trees. No one in there right mind would even think of buying my house if I need to sell the new owners would want the 2-trees removed in which it would cost my estimate 4-5 thousand dollars . I am disabled and don"t have that kind of money. So thank you Lewis for your fast and half ass job. You only care about money and clearance not appearance or what the home owner thinks. Since Med Ed paid the bill they know they have the common man over a barrel and they would have to sue both companies and it would cost more than just removing the trees . So it would be a win win for Med Ed anyway they would never have to trim my trees again. Well I think they took care of that with the equivalent of a butcher job. The world is full of people with no respect and they fit the mold. They had no right to remove any limbs below the power lines when I told them that they hung the phone up.My property value just dipped 5-6 grand tree removal and stump grinding then fill in with top soil maybe even more will be needed. I have no choice but to live with it but I am spreading the word this was just senseless irresponsible bad work ethnics in my option . I am very easy going and this has my blood pressure up.

Cable left by Lewis crew. FPL marked ground and Same happened days prior on street behind my house because Lewis also damaged that cable

Funny thing is they eventually paid the entire claim and the rental car, upgraded to match my crossover. I guess Khama and persistence always prevail! Thanks for checking in on my and getting pleasure at what you thought was misfortune. So sad. You truly must have done some bad stuff in your past! But to take the time to kEep stalking me and voting in a manner you thought hurt me. That's the best part of it all. Lewis, unlike some extremely unethical and morally bankrupt business I have come across, did the right thing and accepted responsibility and paid the claim. Wish all tree trimmers were like that!! Kharma. Ouch!!!!

I spoke with the foreman & asked for their price to trim my 3 palm trees, & they had a good price, AND they did the job right then, & they did a nice job plus cleaned up the debris.

Two Large Trees Removed By Crane…read more We had two huge Popular (Cottonwood) trees in our back yard that were 3-1/2 feet in diameter at the base and about 80 feet high. They were also only about 3 feet from the foundation and beginning to stress it. If that was not bad enough there was no access to the back yard for equipment because we have a brook that runs behind the house. So we needed a company with a crane to remove the trees. Enter Flower City Tree... Steve, Andy, and their crew arrived at about 8am and the amazing tree removal began. Steve operated the Crane and his son, Andy, was put up into the first tree to secure the slings that will haul the 3000-5000 lb. sections of the tree over my house. He then cuts the top section of the tree. The crane operated by his dad, Steve, swings the tree section over my house and down to the rest of the crew on the ground. They maneuver it and cut it into smaller pieces that get sent into the mulch machine and the chips are blown into a truck. This was impressive to watch. These guys really know what they are doing. Everyone had headphones with a microphone to keep in contact with each other. After about 6 hours they were done. Aside from some residual sawdust, you would never know that they were even there. I'm very happy with their price and their work, so much so that I want to say something about their crane operation. Flower City Tree owns their crane. The operator, Steve, runs it several days a week and really knows how to run it. His son is in the tree and has to rig the tree with slings and ropes so it can be lifted over my house. When the tree is cut - there is no second chance. If the sling is not right then the tree will fall. Nobody wants a 1 ton piece of tree falling 40 feet through their house. Now, most crane operators pick up heavy steel beams on the ground and hoist it up. If it is not rigged right they can set it right back down and adjust the way it is in the sling. Tree cutters do not have that luxury. They have to get it right - the first time - and every time. If not there would be major consequences. And, Flower City Tree got it right every single time! My wife and I, and several neighbors, enjoyed watching this very professional team work their magic and Steve said something to me that explained it all. He said, "That's my son up in that tree and the workers are my friends. We can't afford even one small mistake. We are very careful." That about sums it up. If you need a company that has great prices, with caring, professional owners and employees that do a great job then look no further. I have used other services in the past and I can say that I will never use anyone other than Flower City Tree for my tree work. Thank you so much to Steve, Andy, Julie, and the rest of the crew... I was amazed that they had the whole thing down, cut up and removed, in about three hours. I was expecting an all day job. Everything was left in good order. The condition of the tree was that it was partially rotted so I worried some part would fall on my roof (as happened a few months ago) but they have amazing equipment that can handle, I would expect, just about any situation. Very pleased with this company.
