Lowell painting owner and crew members epitomized the best qualities in home improvement contracting. The lead on site manager was detailed and responsive to questions and concerns. They were experienced, fair in pricing, actually adjusting the estimate down when prep was not needed. The work crew was respectful, experienced, and efficient. They actually even cleaned all the windows and storms after painting. I was totally satisfied with their workmanship as they assisted in maintaining the beauty and care of our 100 year old home. We had first used Lowell's painting in 2012 when our contractor JB Sterling had sub-contracted them to work on a major renovation to our home. It was a night and day experience than what we recently went through contracting with Lowell's Painting directly. We had gotten a quote to renovate our guest bedroom which had an additional small room attached to it in Spring of 2019. Because he was busy, he couldn't start until September which subsequently was pushed to around Thanksgiving. We were fine with waiting and EXTREMELY flexible and understanding throughout the entire process. We figured we could trust him based on our previous experience. They came in and gutted the small room right around Thanksgiving 2019. We had also asked if he had an electrician that he would recommend, which he did, Bryan (Anderson) Mitchell. We paid Bryan over $2k and had given him additional small jobs to do which he seemed enthusiastic about. More about Bryan later. March of 2020 rolled around and the room was still not finished. We had ordered carpet which caused a minor delay but it was installed within a short time. Then with poor communication between Bryan and Lowell and Bryan taking off on vacation, (never bothering you say, hey, I'm going out of town so I can't come finish the job) the work stopped. Mind you it wasn't a large job and Bryan's lack of professionalism in not at least communicating, halted the work again. To top it off, Bryan started emailing and texting that he needed to be $$$. He had already been paid a significant amount of money and the job wasn't even completed. (Bad on us for trusting him.) With the job still not completed, Covid struck. At the same time, I had gotten word that my brother was on life support in Florida and I needed to fly there ASAP. Lowell wanted to be paid also and in cash only. Because banks had shut down and issues with the mail, we were told we had to get a bank check and they would only mail it. The morning that I was driving to the airport to go take my brother off of life support in Florida, Lowell texted that he wanted his money - for a job not completed! He was panicking. I told him I was on my way to the airport because of my brother and that the check still had not arrived in the mail from the bank. While I was away, my husband paid him in March 2020. And guess what, the job is still not completed and every time we contact him, it's always 2 weeks, 2 weeks. We are now in September - 2 months shy of A YEAR from when they started the work and he recently told my husband again, 2 weeks! Had he been a decent and professional businessman, he would've finished the job a long time ago. Whole houses have been built and moved into in less time. We had also planned on using Lowell's to re-stain our deck - which he asked about doing in August. He lost that job from us a long time ago due to his poor handling of this job and his unprofessionalism. Now Bryan. We had asked Bryan to give us a quote for some additional electrical work. He sent me a quote which had a small balance of around $100 from any emergency job and added the new quote. I paid him the full amount in May 2020 through Venmo and haven't heard from him since! He never did the work from the quote even though he was paid! If he didn't want to do the work, he could've saved face and returned what he was paid for the work not done. To top it off, the switches that he installed in our dining room still do not work properly. So, between Lowell's Painting and his "recommended" electrician, I would STEER CLEAR. Once they have your money - they are not motivated to finish the work. Bad on us for trusting Lowell, Lowell's Painting and Bryan (Anderson) Mitchell. We definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

Lowell Smith and crew re-painted the interior of our house and did a fantastic job. We had 6 rooms painted, each a different color and they were in and out in about 2 days. We also have 2 cats so I was worried about their hair getting stuck in the paint somewhere and it was not an issue. His crew was very polite and professional and his prices were very reasonable.
