Nichols Electrical and Plumbing was truly amazing, from finding them online to getting and email and txt as Technican Joe B came to my house. Joe was respectful, ontime, Covid Compliant and treated my home like his own. After taking the estimate he was able to do the job I needed. He took a brief amount of time and was out the door. I truly can't say enough good things about Nichols Electrical and Plumbing and would highly recommend them.. read more

First let me say that I was a painting contractor from 1988 to 2002, so I believe that my expectations can be higher than most. With that being said, I hired Nichols Electrical Contracting to do the following on a house built in 1966. 1) Install a new electrical panel with a full house surge protector. 2) Wire and install new light fixture in master bedroom closet. 3) Wire and install light fixtures in family room ceiling (on dimmer) 4) Install dedicated circuit going into garage for air compressor. The above mention jobs where done on time, on budget, and passed electrical inspections on the first go-round. The exposed craftsmanship (i.e. Switches, lights, etc.) all where professional installed and looked great. I did not give them a perfect rating because they did leave some drywall dust in the rooms. I personally feel that the "Best" contractors completely clean up after they are done, or at least try to minimize dust. In a nutshell, I would hire them again and they are a company I trust to get the job done properly. read more

Our riser needed to be changed because the shield was peeling off. Michael Masters came to do the job. I was not home but my wife dealt with him. He was on time, professional and explain everything he was doing before he started. Upon completion he left the work area clean and everything looks and works great. Very professional work read more

Without getting into the specifics, our rating of Nichols Electrical Contracting is VERY POOR with nonexistent customer services or communication by this contractor. read more

I was a new customer and waited nearly 2 weeks for my scheduled appointment. I accommodated their availability by taking time off from work, which required quite a bit of preparation. Their automated system confirmed my appointment the day before. A call came at the beginning of my 2 hour wait window to say that they would need to reschedule. I was dumbfounded. What? Perhaps I expect too much, but if I owned this business, I'd have someone at my house some time that day, even if it was after hours. Thanks for nothing, Nichol's Electrical. read more

Horrible customer service!! I would not suggest using this company at all. The plumber didn't do a satisfactory job on our bathroom. When I called to express my concerns the woman was very rude and condescending to me on the phone. I asked to speak to the owner and she nearly laughed and said they aren't available and why do I need to speak with them? She said they could call me in about 24 hours. Never heard from them. Completely disappointed and regret paying for a shoddy job. read more

Called. Left message. Online left needs. No response from either attempts. Tambe Electric was happy to service our needs read more

Definitely knowledgeable, prompt and efficient. We had Nichols come by on 2 separate occasions to fix minor issues. Both times they communicated their arrival time and stuck to it. They answered my many questions and were a pleasure to have in our home. Highly recommended! read more

Called to attain information as a new home owner in an HOA development for a generator as Mike's reviews were good (and someone I know locally). The person who answered was curt and lacked basic customer service skills. That was disappointing. I will not be using Nichols Electrical. It's the little things that matter and customer service is important. read more

Excellent job by Justin! Very professional and polite. He did a great job explaining the entire process and the cost associated with the work being done. Nice touch sending a text to me of a picture of the technician as well as to let me know they're in their way. Can't recommend more! read more

I hired the for a fairly big residential job and they were wonderful. The communication was superb and they were on time. The crew of 2 were super nice and did an outstanding job. I highly recommend you hire Nichols. read more

I scheduled an appointment through Nichols website for a quote. Approximately 45 minutes later I received a call informing me Nichols doesn't work on homes built before 1950. First I didn't provide the age of my home so they must have searched the County records. Secondly my electrical panel was updated in 1996 when the kitchen was remodeled, but thanks for asking. I suppose this avoids the uncomfortable question of race and ability to pay for the services requested. Maybe Nichols should post "we don't work in the City of Rochester - just the suburbs" on their website. read more

This is the third time I have used them. I had 2 flat screens wall mounted, a ceiling fan installed and a another ceiling fan replaced. Each visit they were on time, professional and efficient. They the only Electrical company I would use. read more

I have used Nichols Electric several time since moving to Rochester. Great friendly service and they always clean up before they leave. I really appreciate the work that Tim has done for us, keeping us informed along the way. Tim has installed several light fixtures and also two fans where there were no fixtures previously. Justin, another one of the electricians is also extremely courteous and professional. Thanks Steve Nichols for sending such great knowledgeable workers every time. read more

I am a busy real estate broker & I have used Steve to perform electrical repairs and install new service in my own properties and for clients over many years. I recommend him highly in all aspects of the business; knowledge, code compliance, safety & workmanship. Combine this with his personal integrity and fairness and you have the absolute best when it comes to the security and peace of mind you want with a professional contractor, especially an electrical contractor. I don't HAVE to recommend contractors and service providers to my clients - why take the risk of something not going well reflecting on me? I could keep my mouth shut and let my clients fend for themselves. But I don't do this because knowing who to call is an important service to my clients - to use my knowledge and experience on their behalf. That knowlege and experience includes working with many different service providers and knowing the ones I can recommend with total confidence and know it will never come back to me as something I regret. I recommend the best people I know. Nichols Electric is the best electrical contractor I know, he has never disappointed me or my clients and I recommend him always. read more

I had Steve come out for an estimate and to see what he could do about an electrical problem in our bathroom. He was there about 20-30 min. Checked out our basement that we are going to have refinished and changed out a socket in our bathroom. Cost me $108 . Seems a little steep....but um ok. Then says he will get back to me via email to let me know an estimate on basement. A week goes by *crickets crickets crickets* ....2 weeks goes by so I give him a call and he states he did email me, it must of not went through. Understandable I suppose. He sends an estimate for the basement for $295 final cost. O_o Ok so only $187 more to do an entire basement room but $108 for a simple 20 min socket exchange. Odd but hey seemed like a deal. I call him to let him know I would like the job done on the basement. *Crickets crickets crickets* Still no call back and its been a week or so. So um yea. My final conclusion is Im guessing he doesn't want the job. To not respond to people is highly unprofessional and a customer/client should never have to constantly reach the company who supposedly would do the work. read more

Steve Nichols came to give me a quote to replace an old fan, light, heater in my bathroom. I explained to him that the new unit would have to fit in the old hole because I did not want to do drywall repair. He never measured or got up there to look at the situation. When the old unit came out, the new one did not fit. So I got the old one was not installed properly. I've heard that one before. It was not. 9x14 vs. 11 x16. I had two choices. Tell them to pack up leaving me with a hole in my ceiling, or continue. I chose the later. When they finished, I went to look at the new exhaust duct they were to exchange in my attic. I would still like someone from Nichols to come and explain to me the mess they made of such an easy exchange. When it was time to leave, the technician came to tell me he would do his best to clean up their mess in the bathtub and floor but he only had a hand broom and dustpan. No vacuum cleaner or clothes? Not a good job. It will now cost me another $45 for drywall repair. Not pleased. read more

I hired Nichols electrics to install some light for us because Steve Nichols did my electrical work on my previous house 10 yrs ago and he did a great job. But this time I was very very disappointed at his service. Instead of him promising me that the three of them will come to do the work for me only his son and an assistant showed up. During the estimation process I told Steve that I had 2 chandeliers to put up, and asked Steve to open the box and give me an estimation as to how many hours they'll need to install the entire chandelier, he said he didn't want to open the box and lose the parts but gave me the estimates. I was u see the assumption that he is an experienced electrician and trusted that he will help me put up on chandelier but instead they only installed the electric board and not the rest, and told me that it's not an electrician's job to assemble chandeliers? So I paid $195/chandelier just to have them put the skeleton lights and I have to hire someone else to do the rest???? On top of that I was treated very unprofessionally by Steven. Steve's son telling me 'again, as I mentioned'....numerous times like I'm an idiot??? Hello, I spent over $1125 for 6 hours of work and I have to hire someone else to clean up and I'm being treated like a idiot???? How horrific??? Never again, and I will make sure everyone that I know to not use them, they are not just expensive but unprofessional at all! read more
