I contacted High Falls Tree service in August 2021 to remove a tree stump. They were quick to come and provide me an estimate which I agreed to. I was told they were behind because of rain and would not get to it until end of sept, I was fine with that and understood that this was a small job. i have contacted then at least 10 times since the end of sept and been told each time they would check next weeks schedule and sure would get to it in 2 weeks. This went on and is still going on. I did explain that I needed it done before winter since I had a patio being installed in spring in that location and they said Eric will get it done ,he understands the need How unprofessional and untrustworthy . High Falls Tree Service came into my periphery due to the incompetence of another tree contractor. The initial dealings were a bit hairy, but ultimately High Falls did a good job. They were contracted to remove four mammoth poplar trees that bordered my property line. Naturally I informed our neighbors that the trees would be removed. Initially our project was met with resistance, as Mrs. D had an established shade garden that was sure to be compromised by the tree removal. However, Mr. D was ecstatic with our news. He was sick of cleaning up the endless broken twigs and leaves that the trees shed -- constantly. They spoke at length with the contractor and agreed to allow accessibility to their driveway and lawn. Then contractor number one backed out. (You can read about the whole affair under my review of Ted Hosmer Lawn & Landscape). They voided their contract and had us deal directly with the subcontractor, High Falls Tree Service. We were none too pleased. Mr. and Mrs. D were livid! They took it as a personal insult and refused to grant permission to their property unless they personally met with Erik of High Falls Tree Services. Erik was kind enough to come out and spend a significant amount of time explaining the procedure and answering copious questions. I assured Erik that since the D's were going to be most inconvenienced it was acceptable to me that he communicate with them and gave them permission to scheduling - or any other decisions - as long as it did not adversely impact my bill. Due to the freakish weather we experienced, scheduling of the tree removal became a bit wonky. Again, we were not pleased, but trusted High Falls would eventually get it done. Mr. and Mrs. D started calling and emailing Erik demanding answers. I kind of felt sorry for the guy, but figured the more they pester him, the sooner he'd get the job done. Furthermore, it was one less thing I'd have to worry about, since they were on the case. During the two days of work, Mr. D was outside "supervising" nearly the entire time: making certain that our properties were well-protected and fairly clean after completion. We chose not to get the stumps ground because it would impact the gardens too much. Mr. D was not pleased at the trunk cuttings (not flush enough to the soil), so Erik told him he would return and cut them shorter. From an objective viewpoint, they were perfectly acceptable as is. Ultimately, the D's were pleased with the job. He said Erik and his crew were professional and met his expectations. I would definitely hire High Falls Tree Service again, but more importantly, so would Mr. and Mrs. D! read more

I was given a quote from High Falls Tree Service in mid 2015 for the removal of 2 large trees in my backyard. The quote at the time seemed very reasonable but I was simply not ready (financially speaking) to move forward with the service at that point. Fast forward to mid 2017, when I AM ready to have the work done. I called HFTS again to have them give me an updated quote as I understand my previous quote was now 2 years old. The same guy (nice gentleman) who came out the last time, came out again. Only this time his quote for me was nearly 3 times the original amount!! I understand inflation and cost of doing business may rise over time, but to go from a $2,500 job to a $7K in only 2 years time!! That's extortionate. They clearly did not earn my business. This is my first post ever on yelp! I am not one to complain ever and I understand these reviews can really hurt some businesses, but in this case, I thought a fair warning to anyone that reads should be well informed. read more

I had a massive tree I contacted High falls and they responded immediately. I accepted there bid which was extremely reasonable. They came as promised. I had told them I wanted to keep the big wood/limbs. even though it was a cold snowy day the crew went to work and never stopped. They had to avoid power lines my garage roof, porch roof all my bushes. They took everything down and even stacked the wood they had cut neatly. You never know what you are going to get when you call for a contracting service. The best you can do is get recommendations. You can read the reviews on Yelp or Google. That was the case for my call for tree service. I read reviews and called a couple of companies. Some of them never returned my calls. High Falls Tree Service returned my call promptly and the work was amazing. We had a 60-70ft pine dying in our front yard. They came out to remove it and said it would take two hours. Not only were they done in less than two, they cleaned up all the debris and chips in our driveway, my neighbors driveway, the street in front of the house and even our little front porch. They were fast efficient and worked beautifully as a team. If you need tree guys call for them. read more

I could not have asked for better service for the removal of a large tree from my yard than I received from High Falls. Quote was given same day and service rendered on schedule. They needed to avoid my home, patio, shed and a hot tub and did so with all the right equipment, crew and with no damage. They had this tree down in 4 hours and with total cleanup. Price was very reasonable and the crew was top-notch, friendly and courteous. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. read more
