We (5 of us) had dinner last night, and we were impressed. Two of us started with shrimp cocktails and they were huge, fresh and delicious! Our table ordered prime rib, chicken parm, garlic chicken, Lighthouse chicken, and chicken righies. All of tge food was fresh, well prepared and delicious, our meals all came with salads which were also fantastic. The restaurant was clean, we'll decorated and we'll maintained. Our server (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) was friendly and attentive, really did a great job. We will definitely be heading back to Lewis' in the future for another great meal. read more

Ordered two meals for takeout....the atmosphere is clean and comfortable and the bar looks great and very clean. I got broiled haddock it was completely bland no spices at all (I have gotten a better dish at a pizza restaurant) . It came w a "baked potato " it was so dry the skin peeled off. Went into the trash. The side salad was brown on many of the leaves w a very small wedge of tomato and two thin cucumbers. My husband got a pasta dish that barely had sauce, most of the noodles had no sauce on them. $80 later the only thing I loved was the potato soup. Sherburne's a really small town with a few restaurants. I would say that Lewis' Restaurant is definitely Sherburne's best. I came here on a weekend night and it was pretty lively and fun. The restaurant is very well kept and clean. Staff were welcoming and I was seated immediately. The space is large and offers side rooms for private events. Upon entry, you'll find the bar area that seems to be popular. I tried the coconut shrimp appetizer with pineapple sauce. It was on their white leaflet insert for their specials but I noticed it was on their permanent menu as well. I thought it tasted great and wasn't too greasy. The sauce wasn't overly sweet. Entrees come with a side salad and an additional side. I got the haddock with a side of spaghetti. The spaghetti side was huge. The salad had cucumber, onion and tomato with some iceberg lettuce. There were over 5 dressing options to chose from. I chose the balsamic vinaigrette and the husband chose a peppercorn sauce. I liked my sauce a little more because the peppercorn one was thick and rich like ranch. I liked the acidity and coating-ability of the vinaigrette. Both salads had more dressing than I would have preferred but it wasn't too drastically overdressed. I tried the husband's lighthouse chicken and liked the bacon flavor it had. For desserts, we had the pumpkin mousse parfait and wine ice cream from Gilligan's, their ice cream store neighbor. The wine ice cream normally comes in a wine glass but our waitress put it in a margarita glass for us for easier access. I appreciated that gesture. She was very attentive and quick. The pumpkin mousse tasted great but would have benefitted from an additional layer of something other than whipped cream. A pumpkin cake or crumble would have added nice texture to it. read more

When we were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time, despite there being several open tables, that should have been a sign of the night to come. After being seated, we had to wait another 10 minutes just to get water, and from what I could see, there were several servers so that wasn't the issue. The menu seemed pretty typical for this type of restaurant: chicken, pasta, prime rib, etc,, with salads being served with entrees. Our party of 7 ordered a wedge salad, wings, quesadillas and calamari as appetizers to start and ordered our mains at the same time. It seemed to take a while for our salads to come out, but I didn't think much of it at the time. Then our appetizers arrived and they were serviceable. Then we waited for our entrees. And waited. And waited. We noticed a few other tables who were also waiting for their meals and at least one who complained about the pace of service. After 2 hours of waiting and almost 2.5 hours past our reservation time, our patience ran thin and we asked our server when we could expect our meals. She apologized and said that there was only 1 cook in the kitchen and she'd check on timing. Then she disappeared and didn't come back, probably because we wouldn't like the answer. We finally flagged down another server who said he'd have to find our server. When she returned, she explained that our meals were *just* being fired up. We were now more than 2.5 hours past our reservation time so asked them to cancel our order and give us our bill. We also politely suggested that they should consider comping us some of the appetizers to make up for the abysmal service and the fact that we would be leaving dinner without actually eating dinner. Our server returned with the bill and said they couldn't comp anything other than 3 sodas. I understand that staffing is a real issue and that things come up. However, I am giving a 1-star review because of the way this restaurant managed the situation. When we arrived, we should have been told that they were short-staffed and the kitchen was backed up; that would have allowed us to manage our expectations and perhaps even go elsewhere. The restaurant should have stopped taking to-go orders (we saw several carry-out orders coming out of the kitchen and another table that was waiting hours for their food confirmed that they were told that the restaurant had a lot of to-go orders). A manager should have come out and offered us cocktails, more bread, appetizers - really anything to acknowledge that the wait was not acceptable. But we got none of that. We will not be back. read more

Came here on a whim for the first time for a date night. Will definitely be back! Had such a nice atmosphere, our waitress was great - very friendly. The smothered fries made with waffle fries were cooked perfectly. The salad was a great size & very fresh. My husband had the 16oz Prime Rib cooked medium & it was perfect! The Au Jus has a phenomenal taste, which paired amazing with the prime rib. I had the Chicken Parmagia with spaghetti which was equally amazing. I highly recommend Lewis'. read more

Lewis's is Terrible.. Went to have a nice family dinner last night and it was an awful experience.. Very very loud, the noise just bounces off the walls. We waited for over 10 min just to get our drinks then they were wrong. Only saw the waitress 4x... My cheeseburger was very undercooked & cold it's like they just put it on the grill flipped & served. My son didn't receive his meal until after everyone else was done eating.. So we got his to go... Then as we got the bill, the manager, owner or whoever she was came over and said if we sent the cheeseburger back they would've cooked it but instead they just deducted from our bill. No apology it was as if I made the mistake... My son worked as a manager in a restaurant in North Carolina & just couldn't believe how bad this restaurant is, giving all the hype it gets from the locals... We won't ever go back...
