I stopped in to make an in store purchase and place and order for an amp that was located at an out of state Guitar Center. When I got there there the place was pretty much empty. There was a customer playing guitar and one fooling around with the basses. There was a customer at the counter having a conversation with what seemed to be the only employee in sight. The employee glanced my way when I entered but didn't acknowledge me and continued his conversation. I walked over to what I had come for only to not find it so I went back over to the counter and stood there while the employee and customer laughed and joked, got another glance but still no acknowledgement. I walked away again to search for what I wanted. After about 10 min, a couple came in holding a receipt so I walked back over to the counter and the couple walked up to another part of the counter. They chatty customer saw that others were in the store and walked over to the guitar wall. Sadly as expected, the employee asked the new folks if he could help them again not acknowledging me. While he was getting whatever they had ordered or their repair another customer walked in and was assisted. Now I've been in the store for about 35 min. and still no acknowledgement. A 3rd customer came in, a father and son, looking at the bass amps. The employee finished with he 2nd customer and started heading for the father and son duo. I'm not that person that loves to get loud and make a scene so I waited until the employee was walking past be and headed him off. I was gonna give this guy one more shot. The first chance was when I asked if there was another Guitar Center close by and then asked what time his store opened in the morning. With both questions, the employee had the opportunity to ask A) If he could help me and B) What I was looking for. He didn't he answered my questions continued to ask the duo. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Guitar Center Carle Place. Got an email from the store manager around 5 PM., shows that the store cares. Share

The only thing I bought him was a Fender hat which he liked and he'll grow into, maybe he'll go through a little punk rock stage or something when he's older. My son had a great time looking at the guitars, basses, drums, and acoustic instruments. I fell in love with an olive green bass but I'm still trying to learn the pink one that was given to me as a gift before I buy a second bass and right now I'm storing my stuff in my son's room until I can afford a place of my own so there's no room for a second bass. This store does seem a little bit more disorganized than other guitar centers I've been to but not entirely bad. It's nice to be able to have a storefront to visit and to drool over and play with instruments.

Recently, my son accidentally broke the bridge on his cello. I called, thinking this was going to cost $$$ but it was covered under our rental agreement! Whew! Luckily my son wasn't going to forgo some allowance to chip in on this. I dropped it off mid-morning and it was ready the next day. I brought in the broken bridge and the guy working there (I forget his name!) custom made a brand new one. If you want friendly and reasonably priced rentals, this is the place to go. They also have lots of instruments for sale - string, keyboards, guitars, ukes - anything you need! And you won't find nicer people anywhere, of that I'm sure.

I emailed them right after delivery about this and received no response, but on their website they updated the photo after my email. I called them and said I wanted the old barrel if you can check stock and if not available call me and set up a return. They falsely advertised the incorrect product, and blamed me for this. They deducted $9 for a cleaning fee of a barrel that was never used, and again the incorrect item. The people working the phones are morons and scammers. I utilized this place for years and referring my students to purchase equipment and instruments since 2015. And buying reeds while on broadway tours. That all ends NOW Take your business elsewhere. My son learned to play violin on a rental from Murphy's for about 2.5 years. Not surprisingly, we ended up back at Murphy's where we purchased a violin from Bob. It produces simply gorgeous sound, no doubt my son will cherish it for the rest of his life. Since this had been our first instrument purchase we didn't know much, but Bob took the time to show us countless violins from his vast inventory until we found one my son loved. As time has gone on, our good decision to buy from Bob has been reinforced, time and time again. Seems he can handle any issue in his repair shop. From simple tune-ups, broken strings, repairs, bow re-hairs, he has always gone above and beyond to satisfy us, his customer. I especially love how he sees the instruments he sold you still of his own because he'll care for them by adjusting and fixing stuff you didn't know was amiss, and he doesn't nickel and dime you each time a tool of his touches your instrument. Not only that, but having chatted with Bob a bit, he really cares about and takes an interest in the people who play his instruments, I've seen him do it with my son. He is generous with his time, and when you visit his shop, you'll see the many ways he generously supports music students who would otherwise be unable to have an instrument on which to learn.
