I stopped in to make an in store purchase and place and order for an amp that was located at an out of state Guitar Center. When I got there there the place was pretty much empty. There was a customer playing guitar and one fooling around with the basses. There was a customer at the counter having a conversation with what seemed to be the only employee in sight. The employee glanced my way when I entered but didn't acknowledge me and continued his conversation. I walked over to what I had come for only to not find it so I went back over to the counter and stood there while the employee and customer laughed and joked, got another glance but still no acknowledgement. I walked away again to search for what I wanted. After about 10 min, a couple came in holding a receipt so I walked back over to the counter and the couple walked up to another part of the counter. They chatty customer saw that others were in the store and walked over to the guitar wall. Sadly as expected, the employee asked the new folks if he could help them again not acknowledging me. While he was getting whatever they had ordered or their repair another customer walked in and was assisted. Now I've been in the store for about 35 min. and still no acknowledgement. A 3rd customer came in, a father and son, looking at the bass amps. The employee finished with he 2nd customer and started heading for the father and son duo. I'm not that person that loves to get loud and make a scene so I waited until the employee was walking past be and headed him off. I was gonna give this guy one more shot. The first chance was when I asked if there was another Guitar Center close by and then asked what time his store opened in the morning. With both questions, the employee had the opportunity to ask A) If he could help me and B) What I was looking for. He didn't he answered my questions continued to ask the duo. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Guitar Center Carle Place. Got an email from the store manager around 5 PM., shows that the store cares. Share

He started at a 3/4 size but it was slightly too big after a month or so on playing on it, and they easily switched us to a 1/2 size. Awesome! Everyone who works here is beyond friendly and helpful. Recently, my son accidentally broke the bridge on his cello. I called, thinking this was going to cost $$$ but it was covered under our rental agreement! Whew! Luckily my son wasn't going to forgo some allowance to chip in on this. I dropped it off mid-morning and it was ready the next day. I brought in the broken bridge and the guy working there (I forget his name!) custom made a brand new one. If you want friendly and reasonably priced rentals, this is the place to go. They also have lots of instruments for sale - string, keyboards, guitars, ukes - anything you need! And you won't find nicer people anywhere, of that I'm sure.

My family was very happy with the service we received here last week. Our original intent was to…read morefind a rental violin for Kid2, as well as see what they might have in stock for kid1. Upon entry we were greeted by Omar, the store manager. He immediately sized my daughter, and went to the stock room to find a few that were her size. For a full school year rental of a junior violin, the cost was $90 + $20 service fee (tuning cleaning) + $5 rosin, a total of $115 before tax for 9 months rental ( End Sept to End Oct). Additionally, there is a grace period of 10 days after the final June 20 contract date that you can return the instrument without penalty. That takes a little bit of stress off our backs to rush to the store for the return. Given that Kid2 had never played the violin, but now needed one for school, I appreciated Omar's knowledge and feedback on things we needed, and unnecessary, there was never any pressure or upsell here. Meanwhile, another staff member, Ricky, was patient with Hubs and Kid1 as they were perusing the guitar section. While the store had a nice variety of full size acoutic & electric guitars, they only had 1 type of junior-size guitar ($79 in 2 colors, red & blue). Both Omar & Ricky were very patient with all my questions, and even allowed me to see what they had in stock when I asked about accordians (which, FYI, they generally do not carry new, and they only have old accordians in stock to sell AS-IS). We were happy with the service we received at this store. Highly recommend them if you're in need of a rental instrument, especially for kids.

It was a direct to the point service. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The store has a good old fashioned appeal. I wish I could browse what's in their store and stay longer for today. My son had a great time looking at the guitars, basses, drums, and acoustic instruments. I fell in love with an olive green bass but I'm still trying to learn the pink one that was given to me as a gift before I buy a second bass and right now I'm storing my stuff in my son's room until I can afford a place of my own so there's no room for a second bass. This store does seem a little bit more disorganized than other guitar centers I've been to but not entirely bad. It's nice to be able to have a storefront to visit and to drool over and play with instruments.
