In terms of the curriculum, the common music books are used. The teachers vary depending on the schedule; and many are very exceptional in music background, theory and even with the performing aspects. One difference in how Rhythm differs from many music schools is that they provide music-reading class in a group setting. Initially, it was not something that was expected given that we have explored many other past music schools that did not provide this option. The group class is in addition to the private lessons - a feature that may seem a bit daunting (if you are in a crunch for time), but it turns out, it is VERY beneficial. As a result of the group classes that covers an array of topics in the music theory lessons - my child was more advanced in the public school music classes. It has had helped to serve as a foundation for other music approaches. What a great feature that Rhythm provides! The costs for the lessons already covers this theory class, so in a way, it is a deal. I personally like that there are customized approaches to teaching children. I do not believe a cookie-cutter one sized lesson plan fits all students. Every student has their own way of learning - and thank goodness the Rhythm teachers were very very very attentive in assessing the needs of individual students. I noticed they were able to alter their methodology in order to work on areas of improvement. I think that is an attribute that group music lessons and strict music teachers may not always possess. More importantly, a lot of the instructors make it very fun - so that the students are able to absorb contents more effectively. We assumed that there was a case at the school and that things would be clarified. Three weeks later, no answers. We have been on zoom to finish our class pass and we still had no answers. Eventually I figured out out that the school was closed. The store front was empty. Lights were off. Furniture was gone. Dishonest and shady people. His teacher, Mrs. Nini, keeps the children engaged for the entire class every week! She gets to know each and every student and brings out their creativity. You can see that she loves her students and her job by her infectious smile and enthusiasm. This is our 2nd semester of classes and we will continue to join. I love that the music changes every semester so he continues to grow and learn. It also contains music in other languages, which is amazing! I do have to say that the music this semester is more upbeat and lively.
