They will rip you off and not do any work. And then when you take em to small claims they won't pay. Cuz someone is broke and not paying their insurance premiums. I don't know how the truth I spoke on here got taken down but I bet it's because it hit too close to home. Again, use ANY other company unless you want to be swindled out of a crap load of money!!! Wonder why there's only good reviews? The owner flags em so people think this is a good company. It's not. Wish I hadn't gotten mixed up with this place.

Well the crew from LVL has had our house for two and a half months - it was a transformation from the basement to the roof. It is beautiful. The attention to detail, the quality of the work- it is unbeatable. They put in a new French drain system and properly sealed the entire basement, creating additional living space for our teen girls. They replaced all the uneven floors and made the entire home not only much more functional- but breathtakingly gorgeous. The problem is then the left the house unfinished, never completing it. Six months later- their electrical work caused a house fire. Repeated attempts to rectify the issues failed until the owner of LaVillaLux just stopped talking to us altogether. Not the best way to do business. Really sad at the outcome.

We talked to various roofing companies but didn't want a quick fix that would change the look of the house to be more modern. Luckily a friend recommended the Healey company. From the first meeting, we knew our house would be in good hands, with restoration to make it look the same way it did when it was first built. As with many home projects, once the work began, it became clear that we had bigger problems than we first realized. Not only was the soffit in rough shape, but the box gutters needed to be rebuilt. The Healey company took care of working with a roofer to line the new gutters they built with copper. They were always communicative about what was happening and why, respectful as they used our basement bathroom and utility sink, and they cleaned up after their work all around our house. It was a pleasure interacting with the various team members. I would not hesitate to hire them again for any project or to recommend them to anyone. Their work was exceptional.

It was found that posts were only dug at most 14 inches deep, while some were as shallow as 9 inches. There was also no bracing installed to prevent tipping even though advised to do so. During 2024 they were also hired to build an addition. After multiple no shows and being paid 80% of contract he removed his tools and stopped the job. After 8 months of redoing poorly done, unfinished work as well as repairing multiple water damaged things from them tearing the roof off the home and leaving for a trip to Florida a few days later, the job is still not complete, and has cost around $100k to fix so far. I would highly recommend not getting involved with this company.

Unprofessional. Unresponsive. Irresponsible. Rude. Unneighborly…read more Waking up to their crew yelling in our residential neighborhood before 7 am, working start time, for months is the least of my worries. Being sworn at by their staff is not neighborly. They seen to forget that the street does not belong to them. What's truly frustrating, and why I would never suggest the company- they do not use working phone numbers for their permits that they file with the city. So getting ahold of someone when there's a real issue is impossible. For example, their construction crew is causing a very serious and dangerous issue with the buses scheduled to pick up preschoolers each school day in the morning. They are blocking the road with cranes and equipment in the middle of the bus stops. This causes an unsafe situation. It has also caused children on the street to miss school. Since where their bus stops is being used as a construction area. But since the company does not post any working numbers for permit or the public then there no way to discuss with the owner or manager how unsafe they are being when blocking the street with equipment in the am. And since those on the site are no receptive to discussions with neighbors about problems- problems continue to mount. I like being told to go "fuck myself" and that I'm fat whenever I ask the crew when the will be moving their equipment out of the middle of the road as they block our entries streets access, but especially my front door. This builder runs a real classy crew. I can't wait until they're done building near us. It's horrific and it makes me resent our new neighbors who haven't even moved it but bought with them.

At our request, we asked for our project to be postponed until early spring due to lack of materials and opening our home to the elements, it was not practical. Construction was to begin right after Easter 2021 but we received notification through an email less than a week before starting that they were no longer going to do our project. There was a huge lack of communication throughout the entire process and when we did actually speak to either Bobby or one of his employees, we were assured each time that everything was in order and those few things that were not would be taken care of in the next couple of days. However we would never get a response on finalization of those particular concerns. We had given a lump sum of money in summer 2021 and asked it to be returned when the agreement was made to start in spring and a new check would be issued. They gave us the run-around and no money was returned until after they canceled and less all our permits which are only good until summer, which is impossible to get a new contractor in that short amount of time. I highly recommend you do your research before you higher a contractor. Make sure to ask for references as well. In the end, I am glad that RJ Steele Construction did not open up my house.

But the one thing we keep coming back to, aside from our health/family, is being so SO thankful for you guys. Your team of direct employees, your sub contractors, everyone.. every single person that we have met has left a wonderful impression on us. You guys build A LOT of homes, so maybe it gets lost on you (although with the patience we've experienced from each of you, I suspect not), but this process can be so stressful. Heck, when we came to you guys from our last builder, we had broken spirits and honestly weren't even sure if building was something we wanted to do, but you guys changed that. We've had friends that foolishly went with other builders tell us HORROR stories about their own experiences and every. single. time. we look at each other and shake our heads and think "omg that was almost us, but THANK GOD we went with Costa". Every step of the way you guys have been patient, up front, honest, kind.. the list goes on. This home is a massive investment for us, and as first time homebuilders this has been a little scary, but every step of the way Chris and Tony have made us feel more relaxed , calm, and confident. I could honestly go on forever but I really just wanted to drop a quick note to say Thank You. Thank You for all you've done so far, and all that you guys will do over the coming months, to make our home amazing and something we will be so very proud to call ours for years to come.
